The success of airway management depends on various factors such as patient anatomy, environmental aspects and the provider performing the procedure. Therefore, the use of a clearly structured algorithm for anticipating the difficult airway in emergency situations is strongly recommended. Our article explains different ways of securing the airway as part of a structured algorithm as well as pitfalls and helpful tips.
