ABSTRACT

Introduction: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) onset, progression and outcomes differ substantially between individuals. Multi-omics analyses may allow a deeper understanding of these differences and ultimately facilitate personalised treatments. Here, in an unsupervised "bottom-up" approach, we attempt to group T2D patients based solely on -omics data generated from plasma. Methods: Circulating plasma lipidomic and proteomic data from two independent clinical cohorts, Hoorn Diabetes Care System (DCS) and Genetics of Diabetes Audit and Research in Tayside Scotland (GoDARTS), were analysed using Similarity Network Fusion. The resulting patient network was analysed with Logistic and Cox regression modelling to explore relationships between plasma -omic profiles and clinical characteristics. Results: From a total of 1,134 subjects in the two cohorts, levels of 180 circulating plasma lipids and 1195 proteins were used to separate patients into two subgroups. These differed in terms of glycaemic deterioration (Hazard Ratio=0.56;0.73), insulin sensitivity and secretion (C-peptide, p=3.7e-11;2.5e-06, DCS and GoDARTS, respectively; Homeostatic model assessment 2 (HOMA2)-B; -IR; -S, p=0.0008;4.2e-11;1.1e-09, only in DCS). The main molecular signatures separating the two groups included triacylglycerols, sphingomyelin, testican-1 and interleukin 18 receptor. Conclusions: Using an unsupervised network-based fusion method on plasma lipidomics and proteomics data from two independent cohorts, we were able to identify two subgroups of T2D patients differing in terms of disease severity. The molecular signatures identified within these subgroups provide insights into disease mechanisms and possibly new prognostic markers for T2D.

ABSTRACT

Obesity is considered by many as a lifestyle choice rather than a chronic progressive disease. The Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) SOPHIA (Stratification of Obesity Phenotypes to Optimize Future Obesity Therapy) project is part of a momentum shift aiming to provide better tools for the stratification of people with obesity according to disease risk and treatment response. One of the challenges to achieving these goals is that many clinical cohorts are siloed, limiting the potential of combined data for biomarker discovery. In SOPHIA, we have addressed this challenge by setting up a federated database building on open-source DataSHIELD technology. The database currently federates 16 cohorts that are accessible via a central gateway. The database is multi-modal, including research studies, clinical trials, and routine health data, and is accessed using the R statistical programming environment where statistical and machine learning analyses can be performed at a distance without any disclosure of patient-level data. We demonstrate the use of the database by providing a proof-of-concept analysis, performing a federated linear model of BMI and systolic blood pressure, pooling all data from 16 studies virtually without any analyst seeing individual patient-level data. This analysis provided similar point estimates compared to a meta-analysis of the 16 individual studies. Our approach provides a benchmark for reproducible, safe federated analyses across multiple study types provided by multiple stakeholders.

ABSTRACT

Extracellular vesicles (EV) are membranous particles secreted by all cells and found in body fluids. Established EV contents include a variety of RNA species, proteins, lipids and metabolites that are considered to reflect the physiological status of their parental cells. However, to date, little is known about cell-type enriched EV cargo in complex EV mixtures, especially in urine. To test whether EV secretion from distinct human kidney cells in culture differ and can recapitulate findings in normal urine, we comprehensively analysed EV components, (particularly miRNAs, long RNAs and protein) from conditionally immortalised human kidney cell lines (podocyte, glomerular endothelial, mesangial and proximal tubular cells) and compared to EV secreted in human urine. EV from cell culture media derived from immortalised kidney cells were isolated by hydrostatic filtration dialysis (HFD) and characterised by electron microscopy (EM), nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA) and Western blotting (WB). RNA was isolated from EV and subjected to miRNA and RNA sequencing and proteins were profiled by tandem mass tag proteomics. Representative sets of EV miRNAs, RNAs and proteins were detected in each cell type and compared to human urinary EV isolates (uEV), EV cargo database, kidney biopsy bulk RNA sequencing and proteomics, and single-cell transcriptomics. This revealed that a high proportion of the in vitro EV signatures were also found in in vivo datasets. Thus, highlighting the robustness of our in vitro model and showing that this approach enables the dissection of cell type specific EV cargo in biofluids and the potential identification of cell-type specific EV biomarkers of kidney disease.

ABSTRACT

Candida species are the most commonly isolated opportunistic fungal pathogens in humans. Candida albicans causes most of the diagnosed infections, closely followed by Candida glabrata. C. albicans is well studied, and many genes have been shown to be important for infection and colonization of the host. It is however less clear how C. glabrata infects the host. With the help of fungal RNA enrichment, we here investigated for the first time the transcriptomic profile of C. glabrata during urinary tract infection (UTI) in mice. In the UTI model, bladders and kidneys are major target organs and therefore fungal transcriptomes were addressed in these organs. Our results showed that, next to adhesins and proteases, nitrogen metabolism and regulation play a vital role during C. glabrata UTI. Genes involved in nitrogen metabolism were upregulated and among them we show that DUR1,2 (urea amidolyase) and GAP1 (amino acid permease) were important for virulence. Furthermore, we confirmed the importance of the glyoxylate cycle in the host and identified MLS1 (malate synthase) as an important gene necessary for C. glabrata virulence. In conclusion, our study shows with the support of in vivo transcriptomics how C. glabrata adapts to host conditions.

ABSTRACT

As part of the human microbiota, the fungus Candida albicans colonizes the oral cavity and other mucosal surfaces of the human body. Commensalism is tightly controlled by complex interactions of the fungus and the host to preclude fungal elimination but also fungal overgrowth and invasion, which can result in disease. As such, defects in antifungal T cell immunity render individuals susceptible to oral thrush due to interrupted immunosurveillance of the oral mucosa. The factors that promote commensalism and ensure persistence of C. albicans in a fully immunocompetent host remain less clear. Using an experimental model of C. albicans oral colonization in mice we explored fungal determinants of commensalism in the oral cavity. Transcript profiling of the oral isolate 101 in the murine tongue tissue revealed a characteristic metabolic profile tailored to the nutrient poor conditions in the stratum corneum of the epithelium where the fungus resides. Metabolic adaptation of isolate 101 was also reflected in enhanced nutrient acquisition when grown on oral mucosa substrates. Persistent colonization of the oral mucosa by C. albicans also correlated inversely with the capacity of the fungus to induce epithelial cell damage and to elicit an inflammatory response. Here we show that these immune evasive properties of isolate 101 are explained by a strong attenuation of a number of virulence genes, including those linked to filamentation. De-repression of the hyphal program by deletion or conditional repression of NRG1 abolished the commensal behaviour of isolate 101, thereby establishing a central role of this factor in the commensal lifestyle of C. albicans in the oral niche of the host.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To explore the feasibility of predicting TP53 mutation risk by immunohistochemical staining (IHC) pattern of P53 in Chinese diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and its correlation with a prognostic difference. Methods: Between January 2021 and December 2021, 51 DLBCL cases at Beijing Boren Hospital were gathered. These cases had both IHC and next-generation sequencing (NGS) results. IHC classified the P53 protein expression pattern into a loss (<1% ) , diffuse (>80% ) , and heterogeneous (1% -80% ) . The sensitivity and specificity of the predicting TP53 mutation by IHC were assessed by comparing the results of the NGS, and the TP53 high mutation risk group included both loss and diffuse expression of P53. From June 2016 to September 2019, Peking University Cancer Hospital collected 131 DLBCL cases with thorough clinicopathological and follow-up data. From their tumor blocks, tissue microarray blocks were made for IHC evaluation of P53 expression pattern, and prognosis effect of P53 studies. Results: Among 51 cases with both IHC and NGS results, 23 cases were classified as TP53 high mutation risk (7 cases loss and 16 cases diffuse) , 22/23 cases were proved with mutated TP53 by NGS. Only 1 of the 28 cases classified as TP53 low mutation risk was proved with mutated TP53 by NGS. IHC had a sensitivity and specificity of 95.7% and 96.4% for predicting TP53 mutation. NGS identified a total of 26 TP53 mutations with a mutation frequency of 61.57% (13.41% -86.25% ) . In the diffuse group, 16 missense mutations and 2 splice mutations were detected; 6 truncating mutations and 1 splice mutation were detected in the loss group; 1 truncating mutation was detected in the heterogeneous group. Multivariate analysis demonstrated that TP53 cases with high mutation risk have impartial adverse significance for the 131 patients included in survival analysis (HR=2.612, 95% CI 1.145-5.956, P=0.022) . Conclusion: IHC of P53 exhibiting loss (<1% ) or diffuse (>80% ) pattern indicated TP53 high mutation risk, IHC can predict TP53 mutation with high specificity and sensitivity. TP53 high mutation risk is an independent predictor for adverse survival.

ABSTRACT

Chronic inflammation that affects primarily metabolic organs, such as white adipose tissue (WAT), is considered as a major cause of human obesity-associated co-morbidities. However, the molecular mechanisms initiating this inflammation in WAT are poorly understood. By combining transcriptomics, ChIP-seq and modeling approaches, we studied the global early and late responses to a high-fat diet (HFD) in visceral (vWAT) and subcutaneous (scWAT) AT, the first being more prone to obesity-induced inflammation. HFD rapidly triggers proliferation of adipocyte precursors within vWAT. However, concomitant antiadipogenic signals limit vWAT hyperplastic expansion by interfering with the differentiation of proliferating adipocyte precursors. Conversely, in scWAT, residing beige adipocytes lose their oxidizing properties and allow storage of excessive fatty acids. This phase is followed by tissue hyperplastic growth and increased angiogenic signals, which further enable scWAT expansion without generating inflammation. Our data indicate that scWAT and vWAT differential ability to modulate adipocyte number and differentiation in response to obesogenic stimuli has a crucial impact on the different susceptibility to obesity-related inflammation of these adipose tissue depots.

ABSTRACT

Candida albicans is a commensal of human mucosae, but also one of the most common fungal pathogens of humans. Systemic infections caused by this fungus, mostly affecting immunocompromised patients, are associated to fatality rates as high as 50% despite the available treatments. In order to improve this situation, it is necessary to fully understand how C. albicans is able to cause disease and how it copes with the host defenses. Our previous studies have revealed the importance of the C. albicans gene MBF1 in virulence and ability to colonize internal organs of mammalian and insect hosts. MBF1 encodes a putative transcriptional regulator, and as such it likely has an impact in the regulation of C. albicans gene expression during host infection. Here, recent advances in RNA-seq technologies were used to obtain a detailed analysis of the impact of MBF1 on C. albicans gene expression both in vitro and during infection. MBF1 was involved in the regulation of several genes with a role in glycolysis and response to stress, particularly to nutritional stress. We also investigated whether an interaction existed between MBF1 and GCN4, a master regulator of response to starvation, and found that both genes were needed for resistance to amino acid starvation, suggesting some level of interaction between the two. Reinforcing this idea, we showed that the proteins encoded by both genes could interact. Consistent with the role of MBF1 in virulence, we also established that GCN4 was necessary for virulence in the mouse model of systemic infection as well as in the Galleria mellonella infection model.

MetaNetX/MNXref is a reconciliation of metabolites and biochemical reactions providing cross-links between major public biochemistry and Genome-Scale Metabolic Network (GSMN) databases. The new release brings several improvements with respect to the quality of the reconciliation, with particular attention dedicated to preserving the intrinsic properties of GSMN models. The MetaNetX website (https://www.metanetx.org/) provides access to the full database and online services. A major improvement is for mapping of user-provided GSMNs to MXNref, which now provides diagnostic messages about model content. In addition to the website and flat files, the resource can now be accessed through a SPARQL endpoint (https://rdf.metanetx.org).

ABSTRACT

We demonstrate an additive manufacturing approach to produce gradient refractive index glass optics. Using direct ink writing with an active inline micromixer, we three-dimensionally print multimaterial green bodies with compositional gradients, consisting primarily of silica nanoparticles and varying concentrations of titania as the index-modifying dopant. The green bodies are then consolidated into glass and polished, resulting in optics with tailored spatial profiles of the refractive index. We show that this approach can be used to achieve a variety of conventional and unconventional optical functions in a flat glass component with no surface curvature.

ABSTRACT

A 25-year-old man with extensive burn due to industrial dust explosion was admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Naval Medical University on 16th October, 2018. Four days after the first skin grafting and vacuum sealing drainage surgery, the patient developed signs of uncontrolled severe inflammation and shock. However, several atypical manifestations interfered the diagnosis of septic shock. After giving emergency treatment including fluid resuscitation, broad-spectrum antibiotics, and administration of vasopressor agents, the patient's condition was alleviated, but quickly relapsed and deteriorated, with acute pulmonary edema appeared in the evening of the same day. Finally, the condition was reversed by completely removing the negative pressure devices on upper limbs and thorough dressing change. This case suggests that the diagnosis and treatment of infection in patients with extensive burn need comprehensive analysis. Timely intervention of the wound is the key to control the exacerbation of sepsis. In addition, the possibility of pulmonary edema in patients with sepsis should be on high alert.

Objective: To identify the factors associated with successful transrectal specimen extraction after laparoscopic rectal cancer resection. Methods: A retrospective case-control study was conducted. Clinical data of rectal cancer patients who did or did not successfully undergo transrectal specimen extraction in Shanghai East Hospital between January 2017 and December 2017 were retrieved through the rectal cancer database of Shanghai East Hospital. Case inclusion criteria: (1) tumor size ≤7 cm by pelvic MRI; (2) body mass index (BMI)≤ 30 kg/m(2); (3) no history of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy; (4) no anal stenosis. Clinical data including age, gender, BMI, tumor obstruction, distance from tumor to anal verge, history of abdominal operation, maximal diameter of tumor and width of mesorectum in the anteroposterior dimension measured by pelvic MRI, etc. were collected. The χ(2) test was used to perform univariate analysis. Multivariate logistic regression was used to identify factors affecting transrectal specimen extraction. Results: A total of 208 patients were included in the analysis. Of 208 patients, 132 were men and 76 were women; mean age was (63±11) years old and median tumor size was 3.8 (IQR, 3.0 to 5.0) cm. Sixty-six (31.7%) patients completed transrectal specimen extraction successfully. Univariate analysis showed that patients who completed transrectal specimen extraction were more likely to have a lower BMI (χ(2)=7.420, P=0.006), be free from malignant obstruction (χ(2)=8.972, P=0.003), have a shorter distance from tumor to the anal verge (<5.0 cm) (χ(2)=14.960, P<0.001), a smaller tumor size (≤5.0 cm) (χ(2)=18.495, P<0.001) and a thinner mesorectum in the anteroposterior dimension (≤6.0 cm) (χ(2)=34.612, P<0.001) than those who failed to perform transrectal specimen extraction. Gender, age or history of abdominal operation were not associated with the successful extraction (all P>0.05). Multivariate analysis revealed that BMI ≤25.0 kg/m(2) (OR=2.32, 95% CI: 1.06 to 5.06, P=0.034), free from malignant obstruction (OR=3.01, 95% CI: 1.82 to 6.69, P<0.001), the distance from tumor to the anal verge <5.0 cm (OR=3.73, 95% CI: 1.22 to 11.43, P=0.021), tumor size ≤ 5.0 cm (OR=4.43, 95% CI: 1.39 to 14.09, P=0.012), and the anteroposterior width of mesorectum ≤ 6.0 cm (OR=4.30, 95% CI: 2.02 to 9.18, P<0.001) were independent protective factors for successful transrectal specimen extraction. Conclusion: Preoperative assessment of BMI, malignant obstruction, distance from tumor to the anal verge, tumor size and anteroposterior width of mesorectum is beneficial to choose appropriate patients with rectal cancer to undergo transrectal specimen extraction.

ABSTRACT: Metabolomics is an interdisciplinary subject that rose in the post-genomic era, which focuses on quantitative study of the response of living organisms to outside stimulation and pathophysiological changes, as well as multiple dynamic response of the level of in vivo metabolites caused by genetic mutation. It is extensively used in basic research of system biology, materia medica, clinical medicine, etc. In the forensic field, metabolomics mainly focuses on forensic toxicology, but with the generalization of certain techniques, it's foreseeable that metabolomics has a broad research prospect in forensic pathology. This article summarizes the major analysis techniques and methods of metabolomics, describes the research status of metabolomic techniques in the field of forensic pathology application research, including postmortem interval and death cause. Moreover, this article summarizes and discusses the potential applicable areas, in order to provide reference for relative research and application.

ABSTRACT

We have developed a new class of sodium carbonate/silicone composite sorbents that selectively capture carbon dioxide (CO2) and can purify biogas to natural gas pipeline-quality biomethane. These nontoxic composites can be three-dimensionally printed or extruded at low costs, can have high specific CO2 sorption rates (in excess of 5 µmol s-1 g-1 bar-1) and high selectivity due to their chemical mechanism, and can be regenerated with low-energy air stripping. Therefore, these composite sorbents combine the high selectivity of liquid sorbents with the high specific sorption rates and low regeneration energies found in many solid sorbents. We characterized these composite sorbents with X-ray computed tomography, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Furthermore, we measured composite sorption capacities of up to 0.62 mol CO2 kg-1 and recorded breakthrough curves in a flow-through, fixed-bed reactor using both simulated biogas and locally sourced industrial biogas. Additional tests of the composite sorbent were carried out with pure CO2 in a sealed pressure drop apparatus. This experimental data was used to validate a numerical model of the setup and to simulate an industrial-scale biogas upgrading process. Finally, we performed a preliminary technoeconomic analysis for this upgrading process and found that this composite sorbent can upgrade biogas at a lower cost (∼$0.97 per GJ) than other currently implemented techniques.

Objective: To investigate the characteristics and prognostic value of peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets in patients with severe influenza. Methods: This was a single-center cross-sectional study in influenza patients admitted to Peking Union Medical College Hospital from August 2017 to April 2018. Peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets were detected by flow cytometry in both patients and 108 healthy controls. Influenza patients were divided into mild group and severe group. Severe patients were further classified into alive and fatal subgroups. Results: A total of 42 influenza patients were recruited in this study, including 24 severe cases (6 deaths). The remaining 18 cases were mild. The peripheral blood lymphocyte counts and lymphocyte subset counts (B, NK, CD4(+)T, CD8(+)T) in either mild patients[795 (571,1 007), 43 (23,144), 70 (47,135), 330 (256,457), 226 (148,366) cells/µl respectively] or severe patients[661 (474,1 151),92 (52,139), 54 (34,134), 373 (235,555), 180 (105,310) cells/µl respectively] were both significantly lower than those of healthy controls [1 963 (1 603,2 394),179 (119,239), 356 (231,496), 663 (531,824), 481 (341,693) cells/µl respectively]. Meanwhile, the T cells and CD8(+)T counts in fatal patients [370 (260,537) cells/µl and 87 (74,105) cells/µl] were significantly lower than those in severe and alive patients [722 (390,990) cells/µl and 222 (154,404) cells/µl]. CD8(+)HLA-DR/CD8(+)and CD8(+)CD38(+)/CD8(+)T cell activating subgroups in mild cases[(53.7±19.2)% and 74.8% (64.1%,83.7%) respectively] were significantly higher than those in severe cases[(38.5±21.7)% and 53.3% (45.3%,67.2%) respectively].Moreover,CD8(+)HLA-DR/CD8(+)count in severe and alive group was higher than that in fatal group [(46.1±19.1)% vs. (18.2±14.6)%, P<0.01]. Logistic regression analysis showed that CD8(+)T cell count (OR=0.952, 95%CI 0.910-0.997, P=0.035) and CD8(+)HLA-DR/CD8(+)T (OR=0.916, 95%CI 0.850-0.987, P=0.022) were both negatively correlated with mortality.Peripheral blood lymphocyte counts in mild cases rapidly decreased within 1 day after diagnosis, and returned to the basic level one week later. Conclusions: All peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets (T,B,NK) in patients with influenza are significantly reduced. These findings are consistent with the immunological characteristics of respiratory viral infections, in which peripheral lymphocytes (especially T cells) migrate to respiratory tract in the early stage and circulate to the peripheral blood after recovery. The activated CD8(+)T cell counts in peripheral blood are negatively correlated with the severity of disease, which could be considered as a prognostic indicator of severe influenza.

ABSTRACT

Direct ink writing (DIW) three-dimensional (3D) printing provides a revolutionary approach to fabricating components with gradients in material properties. Herein, we report a method for generating colloidal germania feedstock and germania-silica inks for the production of optical quality germania-silica (GeO2-SiO2) glasses by DIW, making available a new material composition for the development of multimaterial and functionally graded optical quality glasses and ceramics by additive manufacturing. Colloidal germania and silica particles are prepared by a base-catalyzed sol-gel method and converted to printable shear-thinning suspensions with desired viscoelastic properties for DIW. The volatile solvents are then evaporated, and the green bodies are calcined and sintered to produce transparent, crack-free glasses. Chemical and structural evolution of GeO2-SiO2 glasses is confirmed by nuclear magnetic resonance, X-ray diffraction, and Raman spectroscopy. UV-vis transmission and optical homogeneity measurements reveal comparable performance of the 3D printed GeO2-SiO2 glasses to glasses produced using conventional approaches and improved performance over 3D printed TiO2-SiO2 inks. Moreover, because GeO2-SiO2 inks are compatible with DIW technology, they offer exciting options for forming new materials with patterned compositions such as gradients in the refractive index that cannot be achieved with conventional manufacturing approaches.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To evaluate the antiseptic effect of combined using of 5% sodium hypochlorite and calcium silicate-based root canal sealer against Enterococcus faecalis (Ef) biofilms in infected dentinal tubules in vitro. Methods: Cells of Ef were inoculated into the dentinal tubules of single-rooted teeth (without caries, periapical lesions and malformations extracted due to periodontal disease or orthodontic reasons; collected from Department of Maxillofacial Surgery, The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University) with centrifugation and incubated in brain-heart infusion (BHI) to form 3-week-old biofilms. The infected samples were subjected to sodium hypochlorite or sterile water bathing for 10 minutes followed by calcium silicate-based root canal sealer (iRoot SP) (calcium silicate-based group), Gutta-percha group and sterile water group placed on the root canal wall for 1, 4 and 12 weeks. There were two samples in each treatment at each point. The antiseptic effectiveness of combined use of sodium hypochlorite and calcium silicate-based root canal sealer was analyzed by laser scanning confocal microscope (LSCM), ANOVA and LSD-t test. Results: After treatment with 5% sodium hypochlorite, in calcium silicate-based group for 4 and 12 weeks more Ef biofilm cells [(75.3±3.5)% and (74.8±3.8)%] were killed than in Gutta-percha group [(65.9±4.1)% and (63.0±3.7)%] and sterile water group [(63.9±4.0)% and (64.2±3.5)%] (P<0.05). After being treated with sterile water, the proportion of dead bacterial cells in calcium silicate-based group for 1, 4 and 12 weeks [(27.5±4.6)%, (43.0±4.4)% and (40.3±6.1)%] were more than those in Gutta-percha group and sterile water group (P<0.05). After being treated with 5% sodium hypochlorite or sterile water, more biofilm bacteria were killed in calcium silicate-based group for 4 and 12 weeks than in calcium silicate-based group for 1 week (P<0.05). Conclusions: The combined use of sodium hypochlorite and calcium silicate-based root canal sealer kills more biofilm cells in infected dentinal tubules.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the stress corrosion and electrochemical corrosion resistance of titanium produced through laser rapid forming (LRF), and to provide a basis for their clinical application. Methods: Forged commercial pure titanium (CP-Ti) was used as control group and LRF pure titanium was used as LRF group. All samples were placed in acidic artificial saliva containing fluorine (pH=7), and loaded with a stress of 1.2 × σ(0.2) Pa (σ(0.2) represents the yield strength of material). Stress corrosion resistance of specimens that have been soaked for 30 days was analyzed by naked eye observation, X-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy. For samples placed in artificial saliva, neutral fluoride solution (pH=7) and acidic fluoride solution (pH=3) (4 test pieces in each corrosive medium), and their electrochemical corrosion resistance was evaluated by free corrosion potential (Ecorr) measurements, corrosion current (Icorr), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and anodic polarization curves. Results: With the prolongation of immersion time, the corrosion products gradually increased. The stress corrosion of CP-Ti group was significantly more than that of LRF-Ti group, and the pit diameter was significantly larger than that of LRF-Ti group. The electrochemical corrosion results showed that the Ecorr (-469 mV) of LRF-Ti in artificial saliva was higher than that of CP-Ti (-555 mV), and the Ecorr (-925 mV) of LRF-Ti was higher than that of CP-Ti (-943 mV) in neutral fluoride solution. In acid fluoride solution, the Ecorr (-943 mV) of LRF-Ti was higher than that of CP-Ti (-956 mV). The Ecorr of the same metal was the highest in artificial saliva and the lowest in acid fluoride solution; the Icorr of the same metal was the lowest in artificial saliva and the highest in acid fluoride solution. Conclusions: Under the same corrosion conditions, LRF Ti demonstrated better stress and electrochemical corrosion resistance than CP-Ti.
