ABSTRACT

Progression of melanoma passed under the "mask" of uterine corpus carcinoma. The rarity of this case is an isolated melanoma metastasis into the endometrium and peculiar clinical manifestation.

ABSTRACT

A diversity of the clinical and morphological manifestations pf melanoma determines the great importance of each description of manifestation of this most malignant tumor. In this connection, there is a worldwide increasing rise in the number of patients with melanoma whose diagnosis present well-known difficulties, the authors describe a case of this tumor progression, which masked as uterine carcinoma.

ABSTRACT

This study specifies correlations between clinical and morphological signs which allows regarding relationships between the size of tumor lesions, histological forms of cancer in combination with morphometrical and immunohistochemical characteristics of the vascular component of the communications systems of the tumor lesions and peritumor zone, lymphogenic metastasizing and effects of preoperative radiotherapy as a system of factors reflecting progression and prognosis of breast cancer.

ABSTRACT

A very rare case of giant neurofibroma located in the pleural cavity is reported. Such tumors may simulate malignant tumors and secondary tuberculosis.

ABSTRACT

The results of the study for the last decade aimed at the search of markers of mammary carcinoma malignancy and prognosis are reported. Accumulation and integration of various data contributes not only to more precise identification of the malignancy but also to more complete understanding of biological essence of mammary carcinoma.

ABSTRACT

Communicative systems are involved in morphogenesis of breast cancer. Intensive local irradiation, on the one hand, results in the death of a part of tumor cells in the central zones of breast tumor node. On the other hand, it stops local immune and, consequently, cytolytic reactions in the periarteriolar zones and inhibits these reactions in the pericapillary zones. Therefore, tumor cells in these zones survive and may proliferate.

ABSTRACT

A complex histochemical, morphometric and immunohistochemical study of communication systems, i.e. histophysiological clusters of vegetative nervous terminals, the microcirculatory bed and their immediate cellular microenvironments has been conducted. It was found that the structural and functional characteristics of communication systems play a significant role in the development of morphogenesis of stromal component of breast cancer and, therefore, may be used as a criterion of individual prognosis.

ABSTRACT

Published data on the role of microcirculation and secondary neovascularization in line with immune, coagulating and anticoagulating effects in the development of breast carcinoma have been analyzed. Multifactorial influences realized through a microcirculatory bed determine a dynamic formation of tumor cells heterogeneity, the appearance of new clones including those with characteristic biological properties (capacity of metastasizing). Secondary neovascularization determining the carcinoma genesis at its different stages, ability to metastasize and invade affects tumor prognosis.

ABSTRACT

The results of this study indicate participation of the adrenergic vegetative neural terminals (VNT) in the stroma formation due to indirect influence on the vascular structures. The involvement of the immunocompetent cells in these processes is not denied. Moreover, the determining role of VNT of the adrenergic part in the development of dysplasia can be suggested. The peculiar direction of the stroma formation in fibroadenoma and "autonomization" of this process from VNT and immunocompetent cells influence is revealed.

ABSTRACT

At initial examination ulcer at the base of the tongue in a female of 25 years was diagnosed as a tumor. Further morphological investigation revealed the presence of the thyroid tissue while it was absent at the site of normal thyroid location. Most appropriate clinical and diagnostic approaches to this case are described which helped avoid unjustified surgery and related grave complications.

ABSTRACT

The study of the adhesive, surface-electrical and hydrophobic properties of S. minnesota S- and R-mutants in the process batch cultivation has revealed that the maximum values of the above parameters are characteristic of the stationary phase of culture growth and their minimum values, of the end of the lag phase. Electrophoretic mobility and adhesiveness increase from S- to Re-chemotype. The surface of Salmonella S-form is more hydrophilic, than in R-mutants which are indistinguishable in the degree of their hydrophobic properties. The heterogeneity of the populations under study with respect to the electrophoretic mobility and adhesiveness of cells has been detected.

ABSTRACT

Morphology of mammary fibroadenoma (FA) is well studied while this is not the case for its morphogenesis and prognosis. The role of a stromal component in the development of FA is outlined. Immune response in FA is mainly directed to the fibroblasts. Further studies of mammary FA will allow one to reveal the biological properties of this tumour and to evaluate adequately its prognosis as in 0.5-2% of cases it undergoes malignant transformation.
