ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: In the United States, a total of 268,490 men were found to have prostate cancer in 2022, thus making it the most common cancer in men, accounting for 27% of all cancers in the male population. Among all cancers in men, it was the fifth leading cause of death, with 34,500 deaths and a mortality rate of 11%. In 2019, the total number of cases was 94,748, making it the leading cancer in males, accounting for 11% of all male cancers. In terms of mortality, it ranked seventh, with 13,217 deaths and a mortality rate of 1.6%. However, new treatment options for metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer (mCSPC) have emerged. Docetaxel has been shown to be effective for both mCSPC and castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC). Upfront docetaxel has not been approved in Japan, nor has it been validated in large-scale studies. Furthermore, several agents can be used after docetaxel treatment, but it is unclear which is the most effective. We used a large Japanese health insurance database to determine which agent would be the most effective as a next-line therapy in patients who had received docetaxel. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We used data from medical institutions using the Diagnosis Procedure Combination (DPC), which provides a comprehensive evaluation of medical classifications. The Medical Data Vision database covers approximately 23% of DPC hospitals in Japan. This study analyzed 2938 patients with mCSPC who received docetaxel, followed by CRPC, between April 2008 and December 2021. The study focused on three agents: enzalutamide, abiraterone acetate, and cabazitaxel. Other agents were excluded due to the small number of patients. The following data were analyzed: age, date of CRPC diagnosis, presence of bone metastasis, drug type, and prognosis. RESULTS: This study included 1997 patients with CRPC after upfront docetaxel therapy for mCSPC (enzalutamide [ENZ] group, n = 998; abiraterone acetate [ABI] group, n = 617; and cabazitaxel [CBZ] group, n = 382). The overall survival (OS) time from drug initiation was 456 days in the enzalutamide group, which was significantly longer than that in the cabazitaxel group (p = 0.017, HR 0.94) (ENZ: ABI p = 0.54, HR 0.94; ABI: CBZ p = 0.14, HR 0.75). OS was also compared for the third-line drug in the group that received enzalutamide as the second-line drug, the group that used abiraterone acetate as the third-line drug (ENZ-ABI group), and the group that used abiraterone acetate as the second-line drug. OS from the start of the third-line drug was compared between the ENZ-ABI group and the ABI-ENZ group, which received enzalutamide as the third-line drug, but showed no significant difference (269 vs. 281 days, p = 0.85; HR 1.03). CONCLUSION: ENZ was shown to prolong OS relative to cabazitaxel after the cessation of docetaxel. ENZ was associated with a longer duration of drug use than ABI and CBZ.

ABSTRACT

Laser-induced graphene (LIG) is a promising material for various applications due to its unique properties and facile fabrication. However, the electrochemical performance of LIG is significantly lower than that of pure graphene, limiting its practical use. Theoretically, integrating other conductive materials with LIG can enhance its performance. In this study, we investigated the effects of incorporating gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) into LIG on its electrochemical properties using ReaxFF molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and experimental validation. We found that both AuNPs and TiO2 improved the work function and surface potential of LIG, resulting in a remarkable increase in output voltage by up to 970.5% and output power density by 630% compared to that of pristine LIG. We demonstrated the practical utility of these performance-enhanced LIG by developing motion monitoring devices, self-powered sensing systems, and robotic hand platforms. Our work provides new insights into the design and optimization of LIG-based devices for wearable electronics and smart robotics, contributing to the advancement of sustainable technologies.

ABSTRACT

The transfer of nitrogen fixation (nif) genes from diazotrophs to non-diazotrophic hosts is of increasing interest for engineering biological nitrogen fixation. A recombinant Escherichia coli strain expressing Azotobacter vinelandii 18 nif genes (nifHDKBUSVQENXYWZMF, nifiscA, and nafU) were previously constructed and showed nitrogenase activity. In the present study, we constructed several E. coli strain derivatives in which all or some of the 18 nif genes were additionally integrated into the fliK locus of the chromosome in various combinations. E. coli derivatives with the chromosomal integration of nifiscA, nifU, and nifS, which are involved in the biosynthesis of the [4Fe-4S] cluster of dinitrogenase reductase, exhibited enhanced nitrogenase activity. We also revealed that overexpression of E. coli fldA and ydbK, which encode flavodoxin and flavodoxin-reducing enzyme, respectively, enhanced nitrogenase activity, likely by facilitating electron transfer to dinitrogenase reductase. The additional expression of nifM, putatively involved in maturation of dinitrogenase reductase, further enhanced nitrogenase activity and the amount of soluble NifH. By combining these factors, we successfully improved nitrogenase activity 10-fold.

BACKGROUND/AIM: When hormone therapy (HT) is combined with radiotherapy, understanding the recovery of testosterone levels after the end of HT becomes crucial for considering subsequent therapy. The aim of this study was to determine the factors influencing the time to recovery of testosterone levels after discontinuation of HT and the likelihood of recovery. PATIENTS AND METHODS: The study included a total of 108 patients with prostate cancer who were treated with GnRH agonist in combination with radiotherapy and followed up for at least 12 months after discontinuation of the GnRH agonist. The presence of recovery of testosterone levels and the time to recovery were investigated. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed on several factors contributing to testosterone recovery, including age at initiation of HT, and the duration of HT. RESULTS: Testosterone levels recovered in 61 cases (56.5%). The median time to recovery was 14.8 months. There was a significant difference in the recovery of testosterone levels between patients aged ≥71 years and those aged <71 years at the start of HT (p=0.002), and between those who had been on HT for ≥34 months and those for <34 months (p=0.031). In both univariate and multivariate analyses, age at initiation of HT and duration of HT contributed to the recovery of testosterone levels. CONCLUSION: The rate of recovery of testosterone levels after long-term (median 34.3 months) HT was lower in patients who were older than 71 years at the start of HT.

ABSTRACT

In this Letter, we propose a crackless high-aspect-ratio processing method based on a temporally shaped ultrafast laser. The laser pulse is temporally split into two sub pulses: one with smaller energy is used to excite electrons but without ablation so that the applied pressure to the sample is weak, and the other one is used to heat the electrons and achieve material removal after it is temporally stretched by a chirped volume Bragg grating (CVBG). Compared with the conventional ultrafast laser processing, the crack generation is almost suppressed by using this proposed method. The hole depth increases more than 3.3 times, and the aspect ratio is improved at least 2.2 times. Moreover, processing dynamics and parameter dependence are further experimentally studied. It shows that the processing highly depends on the density of electrons excited by the first pulse (P1) and the energy of the second pulse (P2). This novel, to the best of our knowledge, method provides a new route for the precise processing of wide-bandgap materials.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Few prediction models for individuals with early-stage out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) have undergone external validation. This study aimed to externally validate updated prediction models for OHCA outcomes using a large nationwide dataset. METHODS AND RESULTS: We performed a secondary analysis of the JAAM-OHCA (Comprehensive Registry of In-Hospital Intensive Care for Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest Survival and the Japanese Association for Acute Medicine Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest) registry. Previously developed prediction models for patients with cardiac arrest who achieved the return of spontaneous circulation were updated. External validation was conducted using data from 56 institutions from the JAAM-OHCA registry. The primary outcome was a dichotomized 90-day cerebral performance category score. Two models were updated using the derivation set (n=3337). Model 1 included patient demographics, prehospital information, and the initial rhythm upon hospital admission; Model 2 included information obtained in the hospital immediately after the return of spontaneous circulation. In the validation set (n=4250), Models 1 and 2 exhibited a C-statistic of 0.945 (95% CI, 0.935-0.955) and 0.958 (95% CI, 0.951-0.960), respectively. Both models were well-calibrated to the observed outcomes. The decision curve analysis showed that Model 2 demonstrated higher net benefits at all risk thresholds than Model 1. A web-based calculator was developed to estimate the probability of poor outcomes (https://pcas-prediction.shinyapps.io/90d_lasso/). CONCLUSIONS: The updated models offer valuable information to medical professionals in the prediction of long-term neurological outcomes for patients with OHCA, potentially playing a vital role in clinical decision-making processes.

ABSTRACT

Purpose: We evaluated associations between outcomes and time to achieving temperature targets during targeted temperature management of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Methods: Using Comprehensive Registry of Intensive Care for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest Survival (CRITICAL) study, we enrolled all patients transported to participating hospitals from 1 July 2012 through 31 December 2017 aged ≥ 18 years with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest of cardiac aetiology and who received targeted temperature management in Osaka, Japan. Primary outcome was Cerebral Performance Category scale of 1 or 2 one month after cardiac arrest, designated as "one-month favourable neurological outcome". Non-linear multivariable logistic regression analyses assessed the primary outcome based on time to reaching temperature targets. In patients subdivided into quintiles based on time to achieving temperature targets, multivariable logistic regression calculated adjusted odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals. Results: We analysed 473 patients. In non-linear multivariable logistic regression analysis, p value for non-linearity was < 0.01. In the first quintile (< 26.7 minutes), second quintile (26.8-89.9 minutes), third quintile (90.0-175.1 minutes), fourth quintile (175.2-352.1 minutes), and fifth quintile (≥ 352.2 minutes), one-month favourable neurological outcome was 32.6% (31/95), 40.0% (36/90), 53.5% (53/99), 57.4% (54/94), and 37.9% (36/95), respectively. Adjusted odds ratios with 95% confidence intervals for one-month favourable neurological outcome in the first, second, third, and fifth quintiles compared with the fourth quintile were 0.38 (0.20 to 0.72), 0.43 (0.23 to 0.81), 0.77 (0.41 to 1.44), and 0.46 (0.25 to 0.87), respectively. Conclusion: Non-linear multivariable logistic regression analysis could clearly describe the association between neurological outcome in patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and the time from the introduction of targeted temperature management to reaching the temperature targets.

ABSTRACT

Glutamate is an essential biological compound produced for various therapeutic and nutritional applications. The current glutamate production process requires a large amount of ammonium, which is generated through the energy-consuming and CO2-emitting Haber-Bosch process; therefore, the development of bio-economical glutamate production processes is required. We herein developed a strategy for glutamate production from aerial nitrogen using the nitrogen-fixing bacterium Klebsiella oxytoca. We showed that a simultaneous supply of glucose and citrate as carbon sources enhanced the nitrogenase activity of K. oxytoca. In the presence of glucose and citrate, K. oxytoca strain that was genetically engineered to increase the supply of 2-oxoglutarate, a precursor of glutamate synthesis, produced glutamate extracellularly more than 1 g L-1 from aerial nitrogen. This strategy offers a sustainable and eco-friendly manufacturing process to produce various nitrogen-containing compounds using aerial nitrogen.

Background: Galloway-Mowat syndrome (GAMOS) is a rare genetic disease characterized by early-onset nephrotic syndrome and microcephaly with central nervous system abnormalities. Pathogenic variants in genes encoding kinase, endopeptidase, and other proteins of small size (KEOPS) complex subunits cause GAMOS. The subunit TPRKB (TP53RK binding protein) has been reported in only two patients with GAMOS with homozygous missense variants. Clinical report: Herein, we described a three-year-old male with GAMOS. He exhibited developmental delay, developmental regression, microcephaly, distinctive facial features, skeletal abnormalities, and epilepsy. Brain magnetic resonance imaging revealed progressive brain atrophy, delayed myelination, T2-hypointense signals in the thalamus, and multiple intracranial abnormal signals on diffusion-weighted imaging. He presented with relapsing nephrotic proteinuria exacerbated by upper respiratory tract infections and progressive renal function decline. Exome sequencing identified compound heterozygous missense and frameshift variants in TPRKB: c.224dup, p.(Ser76IlefsTer3) and c.247C>T, p.(Leu83Phe). Conclusions: Our study supports that pathogenic TPRKB variants cause KEOPS complex-related GAMOS.

ABSTRACT

cis-12-oxo-Phytodieneoic acid-α-monoglyceride (1) was isolated from Arabidopsis thaliana. The chemical structure of 1 was elucidated based on exhaustive 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic measurements and supported by FDMS and HRFDMS data. The absolute configuration of the cis-OPDA moiety in 1 was determined by comparison of 1H NMR spectra and ECD measurements. With respect to the absolute configuration of the ß-position of the glycerol backbone, the 2:3 ratio of (S) to (R) was determined by making ester-bonded derivatives with (R)-(+)-α-methoxy-α-trifluoromethylphenylacetyl chloride and comparing 1H NMR spectra. Wounding stress did not increase endogenous levels of 1, and it was revealed 1 had an inhibitory effect of A. thaliana post germination growth. Notably, the endogenous amount of 1 was higher than the amounts of (+)-7-iso-jasmonic acid and (+)-cis-OPDA in intact plants. 1 also showed antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, but jasmonic acid did not. It was also found that α-linolenic acid-α-monoglyceride was converted into 1 in the A. thaliana plant, which implied α-linolenic acid-α-monoglyceride was a biosynthetic intermediate of 1.

ABSTRACT

The efficacy of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-engineered T cell therapy is suboptimal in most cancers, necessitating further improvement in their therapeutic actions. However, enhancing antitumor T cell response inevitably confers an increased risk of cytokine release syndrome associated with monocyte-derived interleukin-6 (IL-6). Thus, an approach to simultaneously enhance therapeutic efficacy and safety is warranted. Here, we develop a chimeric cytokine receptor composed of the extracellular domains of GP130 and IL6RA linked to the transmembrane and cytoplasmic domain of IL-7R mutant that constitutively activates the JAK-STAT pathway (G6/7R or G6/7R-M452L). CAR-T cells with G6/7R efficiently absorb and degrade monocyte-derived IL-6 in vitro. The G6/7R-expressing CAR-T cells show superior expansion and persistence in vivo, resulting in durable antitumor response in both liquid and solid tumor mouse models. Our strategy can be widely applicable to CAR-T cell therapy to enhance its efficacy and safety, irrespective of the target antigen.

The influence of chronic kidney disease stage on robot-assisted partial nephrectomy outcomes remains underexplored. This study aimed to assess the impact of chronic kidney disease stage on functional and surgical outcomes of robot-assisted partial nephrectomy and identify preoperative predictors of significant postoperative 1-year renal-function loss (RFL). Clinical data of 408 patients who underwent robot-assisted partial nephrectomy at Yokohama City University Hospital between 2016 and 2023 were retrospectively reviewed. The da Vinci Surgical System was applied in all patients, and outcomes assessed included surgical parameters, postoperative estimated glomerular filtration rate, trifecta and pentafecta achievements, and complications. Significant RFL was defined as estimated glomerular filtration rate reduction ≥ 25% from baseline. Higher chronic kidney disease stages correlated with older age, hypertension, diabetes, and solitary kidneys. Postoperative estimated glomerular filtration rate decline was most pronounced in patients with chronic kidney disease stages 4-5. Although the chronic kidney disease stage did not significantly affect most surgical parameters, pentafecta achievement was higher in patients with chronic kidney disease stage 3 than in those with stages 4-5. Two patients required hemodialysis after robot-assisted partial nephrectomy. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that preoperative hemoglobin level and maximum tumor diameter were significant predictive factors for significant RFL. In conclusion, preoperative CKD stage did not influence on surgical outcome except for pentafecta achievement. RAPN may be feasible for patients with CKD stages 4-5 because of no rapid progression to hemodialysis induction and no procedure-related mortality. Preoperative hemoglobin levels and tumor diameter emerged as predictors of significant RFL.

ABSTRACT

Adoptive immunotherapy, in which tumor-reactive T cells are prepared in vitro for adoptive transfer to the patient, can induce an objective clinical response in specific types of cancer. In particular, chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-redirected T-cell therapy has shown robust responses in hematologic malignancies. However, its efficacy against most of the other tumors is still insufficient, which remains an unmet medical need. Accumulating evidence suggests that modifying specific genes can enhance antitumor T-cell properties. Epigenetic factors have been particularly implicated in the remodeling of T-cell functions, including changes to dysfunctional states such as terminal differentiation and exhaustion. Genetic ablation of key epigenetic molecules prevents the dysfunctional reprogramming of T cells and preserves their functional properties.Clustered, regularly interspaced, short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein (Cas)-based gene editing is a valuable tool to enable efficient and specific gene editing in cultured T cells. A number of studies have already identified promising targets to improve the therapeutic efficacy of CAR-T cells using genome-wide or focused CRISPR screening. In this review, we will present recent representative findings on molecular insights into T-cell dysfunction and how genetic modification contributes to overcoming it. We will also discuss several technical advances to achieve efficient gene modification using the CRISPR and other novel platforms.

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to determine whether changes in phase angle during rehabilitation are associated with clinical outcomes such as activities of daily living (ADL), skeletal muscle mass index (SMI), and strength in patients with osteoporotic fractures. METHODS: This retrospective observational study included patients with osteoporotic fractures admitted to convalescent rehabilitation wards. Changes in phase angle were defined as the difference between the phase angle values at discharge and on admission. The primary outcome was the Functional Independence Measure motor (FIM-motor) score at discharge. The secondary outcomes were SMI and handgrip strength at discharge. We used multivariate analysis to adjust for confounding factors and examine the association between changes in the phase angle and outcomes. RESULTS: We analyzed a total of 115 patients (97 women, mean age of 81.0±10.0 years), with a median change in phase angle of 0° during hospitalization. We observed increased phase angles in 49 patients (43%), with a median increase of 0.2°. Multiple regression analysis showed that changes in phase angle were independently associated with FIM-motor score at discharge (ß=0.238, p=0.027). Changes in phase angle were not significantly associated with SMI (ß=0.059, p=0.599) or handgrip strength (ß=-0.032, p=0.773) at discharge. CONCLUSION: An increased phase angle during rehabilitation was positively associated with ADL improvement in patients with osteoporotic fractures. These findings may help clinicians make informed decisions regarding patient care and treatment strategies for better outcomes.

The efficient generation of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells is highly influenced by the quality of apheresed T cells. Healthy donor-derived T cells usually proliferate better than patients-derived T cells and are precious resources to generate off-the-shelf CAR-T cells. However, relatively little is known about the determinants that affect the efficient generation of CAR-T cells from healthy donor-derived peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) compared with those from the patients' own PBMCs. We here examined the efficiency of CAR-T cell generation from multiple healthy donor samples and analyzed its association with the phenotypic features of the starting peripheral blood T cells. We found that CD62L expression levels within CD8+ T cells were significantly correlated with CAR-T cell expansion. Moreover, high CD62L expression within naïve T cells was associated with the efficient expansion of T cells with a stem cell-like memory phenotype, an indicator of high-quality infusion products. Intriguingly, genetic disruption of CD62L significantly impaired CAR-T cell proliferation and cytokine production upon antigen stimulation. Conversely, ectopic expression of a shedding-resistant CD62L mutant augmented CAR-T cell effector functions compared to unmodified CAR-T cells, resulting in improved antitumor activity in vivo. Collectively, we identified the surface expression of CD62L as a concise indicator of potent T-cell proliferation. CD62L expression is also associated with the functional properties of CAR-T cells. These findings are potentially applicable to selecting optimal donors to massively generate CAR-T cell products.

ABSTRACT

Fermented seasonings have pleasant flavors that stimulate our appetite. Their flavoring properties change depending on factors such as their materials and fermented conditions. Therefore, a comparative analysis of their flavor is important when evaluating their quality. However, seasonings contain high levels of various matrices such as sugars, proteins, lipids, and ethanol, making it difficult to extract aroma compounds efficiently from them. In this study, we verified a high-efficient and high-throughput volatile flavor analysis of fermented seasonings by solvent-assisted stir bar solid extraction (SA-SBSE) with reverse extraction. We applied SA-SBSE to Japanese fermented seasonings, soy sauce, miso (fermented beans), and mirin (sweet rice wine) and compared their profiles with those from other common extraction methods, headspace gas-solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME), liquid extraction with solvent-assisted flavor evaporation (LE-SAFE), and conventional SBSE (C-SBSE). The aroma properties and profiles of extracts from SA-SBSE were close to those of the original sample, being similar to that of LE-SAFE. In addition, potent aroma compounds in each sample were extracted by SA-SBSE and LE-SAFE, which were far superior to those by C-SBSE. For quantification, SA-SBSE extracts showed a good standard curve by the standard addition method. We could quantify maltol, one of the most common potent aroma compounds in all samples, for various commercial samples by such high-throughput analysis.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: In December 2021, enfortumab vedotin (EV), an antibody-drug conjugate directed against nectin-4, was approved in Japan as a new treatment after platinum-containing chemotherapy and PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors. This study evaluated, using real-world data, the efficacy and safety of EV therapy in patients with metastatic urothelial carcinoma (mUC). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Fifty-five patients with mUC who discontinued pembrolizumab therapy due to disease progression between June 2018 and April 2023 at Yokohama City University Hospital were evaluated retrospectively. Of the 55 patients, 25 received EV therapy (EV group) and 30 did not (non-EV group). All patients who underwent EV therapy were diagnosed with disease progression after the approval of EV in Japan. RESULTS: The median (range) follow-up period after pembrolizumab discontinuation was 6.3 (0.7-31.1) months. There were eight (32.0%) deaths due to cancer in the EV group and 27 (90.0%) in the non-EV group. The overall survival (OS) after pembrolizumab discontinuation was not reached in the EV group versus 2.6 months in the non-EV group (p < 0.001). A multivariate analysis revealed that EV therapy (EV vs. non-EV group; hazard ratio 0.26; 95% confidence interval 0.16-0.41; p < 0.001) was an independent prognostic factor for OS. CONCLUSION: EV prolonged OS in mUC following pembrolizumab therapy in real-world data.

PURPOSE: This study aimed to investigate the impact of the severity of cervical ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) on the incidence of arteriosclerosis in the carotid artery. METHODS: Patients with OPLL-induced cervical myelopathy were prospectively enrolled. The study involved analyzing patient characteristics, blood samples, computed tomography scans of the spine, and intima-media thickness (IMT) measurements of the common carotid artery. Patients were divided into two groups based on the size of the cervical OPLL to compare demographic data, comorbidities, and the presence of thickening of the carotid intima-media (max IMT ≥ 1.1 mm). RESULTS: The study included 96 patients (mean age: 63.5 years; mean body mass index: 26.9 kg/m2; 71.8% male; 35.4% with diabetes mellitus). The mean maximum anteroposterior (AP) diameter of the OPLL was 4.9 mm, with a mean occupancy ratio of 43%. The mean maximum IMT was 1.23 mm. Arteriosclerosis of the carotid artery was diagnosed in 62.5% of the patients. On comparing the two groups based on OPLL size, the group with larger OPLL (≥ 5 mm) had a higher BMI and a greater prevalence of carotid intima-media thickening. This significant difference in the prevalence of carotid intima-media thickening persisted even after adjusting for patient backgrounds using propensity score matching. CONCLUSIONS: Patients with a larger cervical OPLL showed a higher frequency of intima-media thickening in the carotid artery.

ABSTRACT

Objective: Complete endophytic renal tumors (CERTs) are the most challenging for robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN). This study aimed to determine the impact of CERT on outcomes of RAPN. Methods: All RAPN cases for localized renal tumor undertaken at Yokohama City University Hospital between 2016 and 2023 were enrolled. Tumor characteristics and surgical, functional, and oncologic outcomes of RAPN were compared between CERT and non-CERT groups. Results: Consecutive 666 patients were enrolled, and 76 (11.4%) were identified as CERT (3 points of "E" score). CERT showed smaller tumor diameters (p < 0.001), more predominant hilar tumor (p = 0.029), higher "N" scores (p < 0.001) and "L" scores (p = 0.006) than non-CERT. The CERT group showed longer warm ischemia times (p < 0.001), more frequent positive surgical margins (p = 0.028), and relatively lower trifecta achievement rates (p = 0.101) than the non-CERT group. In multivariable analysis, the CERT was an independent predictor for trifecta achievement but not for pentafecta achievement. Conclusions: CERT was associated with longer warm ischemia time, positive surgical margin, and lower trifecta achievement, but not with surgical complication and pentafecta achievement in RAPN. This study suggested that CERT had limited influence on long-term renal functional preservation; however, it had strong impacts on short-term surgical outcome.
