ABSTRACT

Abstract Context: Hope is an essential feeling in life and is a driving element in the recovery-oriented psychosocial rehabilitation process. It is therefore important to synthesize and integrate existing knowledge about specialized and autonomous nursing interventions that promote hope in the population living this process. Aim: To identify specialized and autonomous nursing interventions that promote hope in population in a recovery-oriented psychosocial rehabilitation process. Method: Integrative review according to Joanna Briggs Institute criteria. Research was carried out on the platforms Ebscohost, Google Academic and BMC Nursing, between October and December 2021 using the descriptors "Hope" AND "Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing" AND "(Recovery in mental health" OR "Psychosocial rehabilitation"). Results: We included seven studies, referring to different care settings (community, hospital, outpatient). We present a way to identify the need for attention to the "Hope" nursing focus, the various diagnostic assessment instruments and hope-promoting interventions that present positive results. Conclusion: The included studies identify the therapeutic relationship as an essential context to convey nursing interventions that promote hope and the fact that nurses are themselves a source of hope. It is essential to identify the attributes of hope, the associated emotions and experiences and be competent to formulate realistic goals.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: The creation of a computerized clinical database with the ability to collect prospective information from patients and with the possibility of rescue and crossing data enables scientific studies of higher quality and credibility in less time. AIM: To validate, in a single master protocol, the clinical data referring to Surgery of Digestive System in a multidisciplinary way, incorporating in the SINPE© platform, and to verify the incidence of digestive diseases based on the prospectively performed collections. METHOD: Organize in one software, in a standardized structure, all the pre-existing items in the SINPE© database; the theoretical basis was computerized through the MIGRASINPE© module creating a single multiprofessional master protocol for use as a whole. RESULTS: The existing specific protocols were created and/or adapted - they correspond to the most prevalent digestive diseases - unifying them. The possibility of multiprofessional use was created by integrating all data collected from medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, nutrition and health management in a prospective way. The total was 4,281 collections, distributed as follows: extrahepatic biliary tract, n=1,786; esophagus, n=1015; anorectal, n=736; colon, n=550; small intestine, n=86; pancreas, n=71; stomach, n=23; liver, n=14. CONCLUSIONS: The validation of the unification and structuring in a single master protocol of the clinical data referring to the Surgery of the Digestive System in a multiprofessional and prospective way was possible and the epidemiological study carried out allowed to identify the most prevalent digestive diseases.

ABSTRACT

Until the 1980s, the primary goal of coastal works projects was to ensure safety at any cost. This was addressed in an essentially physical manner. Today, concerns are no longer limited to safety; lifestyle and quality of life have become essential components in the successful construction of coastal infrastructure. Other aspects of development have also become important, such as environmental impact, attractiveness and sustainability. New social realities must be addressed, as must the voices of actors and interest groups. The synthesis of recent concerns over coastal public works projects has become increasingly difficult due to new assumptions of value, social acceptance and the sustainability of these projects. In this context, it is now common knowledge that decision-making on a coastal issue should be based on multiple criteria, including technical effectiveness, costs, benefits, implementation and monitoring. Here, coastal issues are reviewed using the dual perspective of meeting current needs and ensuring future sustainability. It is shown that multifunctional facilities built near the coast are one viable solution for managing coastal erosion. The results of a case study conducted in a sensitive area of the Portuguese coast are also presented. Based on an exhaustive review of the literature, it is also shown that improving nautical sports and generating renewable energy should not be neglected. Finally, contemporary adaptation measures and future accommodation options are recommended.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: This is a retrospective review of 204 patients who underwent bariatric surgery. The impact of weight regain (WR), pre-operative comorbidities and BMI values on the recurrence of comorbidities was evaluated, and an equation was elaborated to estimate BMI at 5 years of bariatric surgery. METHODS: Pre-operative data, after 1 year and after 5 years, was collected from the medical records. Descriptive analyses and bivariate hypothesis tests were performed first, and then, a generalised linear regression model with Tweedie distribution was adjusted. The hit rate and the Kendall coefficient of concordance (Kendall's W) of the equation were calculated. At the end, the Mann-Whitney test was performed between the BMI, WR and the presence of comorbidities, after a post-operative period of 5 years. RESULTS: The adjustment of the model resulted in an equation that estimates the mean value of BMI 5 years after surgery. The hit rate was 82.35% and the value of Kendall's W was 0.85 for the equation. It was found that patients with comorbidities presented a higher median WR (10.13%) and a higher mean BMI (30.09 kg/m2) 5 years after the surgery. CONCLUSIONS: It is concluded that the equation is useful for estimating the mean BMI at 5 years of surgery and that patients with low pre-operative HDL and folic acid levels, with depression and/or anxiety and a higher BMI, have a higher BMI at 5 years of surgery and higher incidence of comorbid return and dissatisfaction with post-operative results.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: to create and validate an electronic database in ophthalmology focused on strabismus, to computerize this database in the form of a systematic data collection software named Electronic Protocol, and to incorporate this protocol into the Integrated System of Electronic Protocols (SINPE(c)). METHODS: this is a descriptive study, with the methodology divided into three phases: (1) development of a theoretical ophthalmologic database with emphasis on strabismus; (2) computerization of this theoretical ophthalmologic database using SINPE(c) and (3) interpretation of the information with demonstration of results to validate the protocol. We inputed data from the charts of fifty patients with known strabismus through the Electronic Protocol for testing and validation. RESULTS: the new electronic protocol was able to store information regarding patient history, physical examination, laboratory exams, imaging results, diagnosis and treatment of patients with ophthalmologic diseases, with emphasis on strabismus. We included 2,141 items in this master protocol and created 20 new specific electronic protocols for strabismus, each with its own specifics. Validation was achieved through correlation and corroboration of the symptoms and confirmed diagnoses of the fifty included patients with the diagnostic criteria for the twenty new strabismus protocols. CONCLUSION: a new, validated electronic database focusing on ophthalmology, with emphasis on strabismus, was successfully created through the standardized collection of information, and computerization of the database using proprietary software. This protocol is ready for deployment to facilitate data collection, sorting and application for practitioners and researchers in numerous specialties.

ABSTRACT

This report reflects the covered path during the traineeship at Mouzinho da Silveira Secondary School, aimed at developing the skills as Specialist Nurse in Community Nursing based on the Health Status Diagnosis of teenagers from the 7th and 8th Year, in the academic year of 2012/2013, and the implementation of an Intervention Project. The developed project falls within the scope of Health and Risky Behaviours Prevention in adolescence. The teens are considered by the OMS as a group that experiences big changes at a physical, psychological, familiar and social level being susceptible to the development of risky behaviours that they can perpetuate in the future. Based on this way of thinking, it is essential a multisectoral intervention, planned between the professionals from the several realities where the teens fall, particularly at the school where they spend a lot of their time. The traineeship gathered around the teens' lifestyle, getting to know the risky behaviours that they practice on a daily basis and, based on that data, to plan an intervention project centered in the promotion of healthy lifestyles. For that, several activities were developed, namely meetings with the teachers, because they are key elements in this process by the familiarity and the daily share of experiences with the teens and also health education sessions. In this intervention it was used the Health Planning Methodology and the education sessions held in Bandura's Social Learning Theory. 232 teens were covered, at a total of 269, (when the questionnaire was applied) in the Promotion of Healthy Lifestyles Intervention. In this intervention we had more than 95,5% of the questionnaires placed in the Satisfaction scale in the Satisfied or more category. This report portrays the role of the Specialist Nurse in Community Nursing, which, through its specific skills, uses suitable practices, applies an effective Heath Planning and employs the community resources and the teams, searching for excellence at the Health care given and the community health gains.

ABSTRACT

Low back pain is one of the events most commonly found in the relationship between work and health.Epidemiological data show, in the whole world, high prevalence of back pain in drivers, especially taxi drivers. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the prevalence of low back pain and its association with sociodemographic variables, occupational variables and lifestyle of taxi drivers Jequié/BA. This is a cross-sectional study with 101 subjects, in which was used a questionnaire consisting of information such as sociodemographic, occupational, lifestyle, and related to the lumbar spine. The data were processed using the statistical program SPSS, version 15.0, by using the Poisson regression model and adopted the confidence interval of 95%. The prevalence of low back pain among taxi drivers was54.5%, and 78.2% reported moderate pain. The reduction of activities in the last year due to back pain was confirmed by 12.7% of taxi drivers. It was found that the highest prevalence of low back pain was found among individuals who did not engage in leisure activities per week (p=0.001). It was found that the higher the age, higher pain intensity (p=0.001), and greater medication use (p=0.05).Individuals who performed other gainful activity were associated with reduced activity in the last 12 months (p=0.008). Therefore, it is expected that these results can serve as input for the planning of programs for prevention, health promotion and control of injuries, to improve the health conditions of these professionals.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Informatics can help the development of home enteral nutrition therapy (HENT). By using an electronic protocol with an electronic database it is possible to organize, structure and manage, information. AIM: To develop an electronic protocol for data collection on treatment of patients with home enteral nutrition. METHOD: After a review in theoretical material about home enteral nutrition therapy, 1793 data collection items were selected and grouped into nine categories: patient identification, nutritional assessment, dietetics prescription, indications for enteral nutrition, access to enteral nutrition options, composition of enteral nutrition, administration system, complications, and readmission. ABSTRACT

Introduction: In the health field, computerization has become increasingly necessary in professional practice, since it facilitates data recovery and assists in the development of research with greater scientific rigor. Objective: the present work aimed to develop, apply, and validate specific electronic protocols for patients referred for rhinoplasty. Methods: The prospective research had 3 stages: (1) preparation of theoretical data bases; (2) creation of a master protocol using Integrated System of Electronic Protocol (SINPE©); and (3) elaboration, application, and validation of a specific protocol for the nose and sinuses regarding rhinoplasty. Results: After the preparation of the master protocol, which dealt with the entire field of otorhinolaryngology, we idealized a specific protocol containing all matters related to the patient. In particular, the aesthetic and functional nasal complaints referred for surgical treatment (i.e., rhinoplasty) were organized into 6 main hierarchical categories: anamnesis, physical examination, complementary exams, diagnosis, treatment, and outcome. This protocol utilized these categories and their sub-items: finality; access; surgical maneuvers on the nasal dorsum, tip, and base; clinical evolution after 3, 6, and 12 months; revisional surgery; and quantitative and qualitative evaluations. Conclusion: The developed electronic-specific protocol is feasible and important for information registration from patients referred to rhinoplasty...

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The merging of medicine with information technology facilitates the retrieval of stored data, aiding the conduct of research with greater scientific rigor. Studies in the field of otorhinolaryngology, specifically in the area of laryngology and voice, are of fundamental importance, since 70% of the economically active need their voice to work. Objective: To create a computerized protocol of the diseases of the larynx, apply and validate it, and use it to evaluate patients undergoing laryngoscopic microsurgery of the larynx. Method: We created a database of ENT diseases through a literature review of textbooks and scientific articles. Next, we computerized the data and incorporated it into the SINPE©, creating a master protocol (ENT diseases) and a specific protocol (laryngeal diseases). Data were collected prospectively from patients undergoing laryngeal microsurgery in the ENT Hospital of Paraná. The collected data were analyzed with graphs through the SINPE© Analyzer module. Results: We evaluated 245 patients aged 9-79 years, and determined that 36.61% (93 patients) underwent surgery for the presence of polyps on the vocal folds, 12.6% (32) underwent surgery for papillomatosis, and 11.83% (29) underwent surgery for intracordal cysts. Conclusions: The creation of an electronic database of clinical ENT diseases was feasible. We were also able to implement and validate the protocol. The database may be released to physicians involved in clinical data collection and retrieval of information to conduct scientific research in an organized manner. The most common laryngeal disorders identified were polyps, papilloma, and intracordal cysts...

ABSTRACT

RACIONAL: A obesidade é doença multifatorial.
