ABSTRACT
The authors report a very rare case of gastroduodenal intussusception complicating Menetrier's disease. This uncommon condition of unknown aetiology is characterized by hyperplasia of the gastric mucosal folds. Computed Tomography (CT) in high resolution mode can be helpful for diagnosis by showing the cerebriform surface of the giant mucosal folds. Filling the gastoduodenal tract with water is useful in non complicated cases.

The authors report a case of subacute combined degeneration of the cervicothoracic spinal cord involving the dorsal and lateral spinal columns, extending to the brainstem, due to cobalamin deficiency in an elderly patient. Symptoms of this subacute myelopathy are potentially reversible with early diagnosis. Presenting symptoms of this myelopathy, involvement of the lateral columns and brainstem have rarely been documented by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies. MRI showed increased T2-weighted signal in the spinal cord. The patient's background and history and the posterior location of the abnormalities increased the specificity of MRI, and the resolution of clinical symptoms with vitamin supplementation confirmed the diagnosis.

Epidermoïd cysts are well documented. Whenever possible, surgery is always necessary. Intradiploic epidermoïd cyst are uncommon, especially in the occipital bone. Ultrasonography (US) may be useful and used instead of radiographs. As demonstrated in intracranial forms, diffusion-weighted MR Imaging (MRI) sequence can be useful for the diagnosis of epidermoid tumors and postoperative assessment of residual tumor. We propose to illustrate the usefulness of US and MRI in depicting an intradiploic epidermoïd cyst in a 27-year-old woman.

Bowel obstruction is a rare but serious complication of pregnancy for both the mother and the developing fetus. The authors report a case of small bowel obstruction in an early pregnant patient. Increasing delay between the onset of symptoms and the diagnosis remains a significant contributing factor to the high morbidity and mortality in the pregnant patient population. So, prompt diagnosis and therapy are essential. Single Shot Fast Spin Echo MR sequence confirmed the presence of bowel obstruction and identified the zone of transition.

Paradoxical embolism (PE) is an uncommonly diagnosed cause of unexplained ischemic cerebral event. Its diagnosis is based on established criteria and the failure to identify an arterial or cardiac embolic source. The association between patent foramen ovale (PFO) and cryptogenic stroke has repeatedly been demonstrated in clinical studies. Transesophageal contrast echocardiography is the best diagnostic test. Surgical or endovascular PFO closure is recommended for the long-term prevention of PE.

Hydropic degeneration of a uterine leiomyoma is common. Giant forms are uncommon. Positive diagnosis may be challenging because the differential diagnosis includes other rare uterine tumors such as leiomyosarcoma. Uterine localization, the leiomyoma volume, margins with adjacent structures are best evaluated at MRI. Final diagnosis requires gross and microscopic examination. We describe such a diagnostic challenge in a 46-year-old woman with a giant hydropic leiomyoma.

We report an uncommon presentation of plasmocytoma in an AIDS patient. AIDS is associated with an increased risk of neoplasms. The incidence of Plasma Cell tumors in HIV-positive patients is greater than in non-infected patients. Multiple factors contribute to B cell neoplasms development.

History taking should search for intake of raw or uncooked fish in patients with acute abdominal symptoms. The colon is an uncommon localization of anisakiasis. We describe the case of a 31-year-old man with acute abdominal pain whose abdominal CT scan showed a pseudotumoral formation of the colon. History taking and endoscopic ablation gave the diagnosis of anisakiasis. Whole worm extraction led to restituo ad integrum or the colonic wall.
