ABSTRACT

Complications after CSF shunting procedures in 83 (278 in all) patients with hydrocephalus of various origin were analyzed. Complications were more frequently observed in patients with tumor pathology.

ABSTRACT

The results of treatment of 93 patients with traumatic membrane hematoma of rare location (membrane hematoma of the posterior cranial fossa, epidural hematoma of the anterior cranial fossa, occipital pole, hematoma located over the upper longitudinal sinus, intercerebral subdural hematoma, subdural hematoma of basal location) have been analysed. Difficulties in diagnosis of hematoma are conditioned by a variety of clinical signs. The informative value of the different methods of diagnosis were assessed, peculiarities of surgical intervention noted.

ABSTRACT

Effectiveness of treatment of the residual pleural cavity after partial resection of the lungs was studied in 142 patients. Complex therapeutic treatment (trans-thoracic++ puncture therapy, filling with autologous blood ) and reoperations facilitated clinical healing of 127 patients (89.5%). Satisfactory results were stated in 7 patients (4.9%). Unsatisfactory results due to progressing tuberculosis process were observed in 3 patients (2.1). Five patients died (3.5%).
