ABSTRACT

Bacteriological and cytological analysis of the saliva, dental plaques, and gingival fluid was carried out in 48 patients with periodontitis and 25 donors. The concentrations of proinflammatory cytokines IL-1 and TNF-alpha were increased, the levels of anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-4 and TFR beta-1 were decreased, and MIF production was suppressed in the patients in comparison with donors. Important theoretical and practical recommendations are offered.

ABSTRACT

The authors studied immunological status of patients with paradontosis. If included estimation of extended structure of lymphocytes and functional status of thymus. There was marked correlation between clinical of patients and immunological indices especially in severe form of paradontitis. As immunological preparation T-activin was used in injections and applications. Using of T-activin gave positive results in patient developed of paradontitis.

ABSTRACT

Clinico-laboratory tests of the new Soviet polymer sorbent Regenkur obtained on the basis of rarely cross-linked cellulose ester were conducted on 60 patients with acute purulent diseases of the soft tissues in the surgical clinic, Sechenov Medical Academy. In treatment with sorbent applications the number of microorganisms reduced by several factors on the 3rd-5th day; on the average, the term of wound cleansing was 4.6 days, granulations appeared on day 4.3 and peripheral epithelialization on day 6.5. The duration of hospital stay decreased by one third. Advantages of the new sorbent over those of the well-known foreign analogue Debrizan were revealed.

ABSTRACT

Application of regencur, a local draining sorbent, to phlegmons of the face and neck in 48 patients resulted in shortening of the first phase of the wound process, this permitting earlier suturing of the wounds with primary delayed and secondary sutures. Active sorption and local detoxication were conducive to reduction of lipid peroxidation processes in tissues and blood plasma and to enhancement of leukocytic bactericidal activity.

ABSTRACT

In local treatment of patients with II-IIIA degree burns with the area of from 1.5 to 20% of body surface, the use of hydrogel on the basis of a polymeric sorbent Regencur contributed to attenuation of pain, 2-fold reduction in number of dressings, creation of favourable conditions for course of the reparative processes in burn wounds.
