ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Risk stratification in multiple myeloma (MM) patients is crucial, and molecular genetic studies play a significant role in achieving this objective. Enrichment of plasma cells for next-generation sequencing (NGS) analysis has been employed to enhance detection sensitivity. However, these methods often come with limitations, such as high costs and low throughput. In this study, we explore the use of an error-corrected ultrasensitive NGS assay called positional indexing sequencing (PiSeq-MM). This assay can detect somatic mutations in MM patients without relying on plasma cell enrichment. METHOD: Diagnostic bone marrow aspirates (BMAs) and blood samples from 14 MM patients were used for exploratory and validation sets. RESULTS: PiSeq-MM successfully detected somatic mutations in all BMAs, outperforming conventional NGS using plasma cells. It also identified 38 low-frequency mutations that were missed by conventional NGS, enhancing detection sensitivity below the 5% analytical threshold. When tested in an actual clinical environment, plasma cell enrichment failed in most BMAs (14/16), but the PiSeq-MM enabled mutation detection in all BMAs. There was concordance between PiSeq-MM using BMAs and ctDNA analysis in paired blood samples. CONCLUSION: This research provides valuable insights into the genetic landscape of MM and highlights the advantages of error-corrected NGS for detecting low-frequency mutations. Although the current standard method for mutation analysis is plasma cell-enriched BMAs, total BMA or ctDNA testing with error correction is a viable alternative when plasma cell enrichment is not feasible.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: Low-intensity transcranial focused ultrasound (tFUS) has emerged as a promising non-invasive brain stimulation modality with high spatial selectivity and the ability to reach deep brain areas. The present study aimed to investigate the safety and effectiveness of low-intensity tFUS in treating major depressive disorder. METHODS: Participants were recruited in an outpatient clinic and randomly assigned to either the verum tFUS or sham stimulation group. The intervention group received six sessions of tFUS stimulation to the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex over two weeks. Neuropsychological assessments were conducted before and after the sessions. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rsfMRI) was also performed to evaluate changes in functional connectivity (FC). The primary outcome measure was the change in depressive symptoms, assessed with the Montgomery-Åsberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS). RESULTS: The tFUS stimulation sessions were well tolerated without any undesirable side effects. The analysis revealed a significant main effect of session sequence on the MADRS scores and significant interactions between the session sequences and groups. The rsfMRI analysis showed a higher FC correlation between the right superior part of the subgenual anterior cingulate cortex (sgACC) and several other brain regions in the verum group compared with the sham group. CONCLUSION: Our results reveal that tFUS stimulation clinically improved MADRS scores with network-level modulation of a sgACC subregion. This randomized, sham-controlled clinical trial, the first study of its kind, demonstrated the safety and probable efficacy of tFUS stimulation for the treatment of depression.

Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a rare genetic disorder caused by the loss of paternal genes on chromosome 15. The Aberrant Behavior Checklist (ABC) is a standardized rating scale for assessing problematic behaviors in persons with developmental disabilities. Our study aims to describe ABC scores in youth with PWS and track their change over time. The analysis included 69 patients. Mean ABC scores were compared in four age groups (5-8, 9-12, 13-16, and 17-22 years). A statistically significant difference was found only in the Irritability subscale, with lower scores in the 5-8 age group compared to the 9-12 age group. For change over time, scores for Irritability, Lethargy, Stereotypic Behavior, Hyperactivity subscales, and Total score were likely to decrease after age 12. Irritability subscale scores of males were predicted to increase more than those of females between ages of 5 and 12 . The Lethargy score in the nondeletion group had a greater reduction than the deletion group in the 12-20 year range. This study highlights the need for systematic collection and characterization of behavioral data given the burden of maladaptive behaviors that often persist for a lifetime.

The use of telemedicine and telehealth has rapidly increased since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, however, could lead to unnecessary medical service. This study analyzes the contents of telemedicine apps (applications) in South Korea to investigate the use of telemedicine for selective or unnecessary medical treatments and the presence of advertising for the hospital. This study analyzed 49 telemedicine mobile apps in Korea; a content analysis of the apps' features and quality using a Mobile Application Rating Scale was done. The study analyzed 49 mobile telemedicine apps and found that 65.3% of the apps provide immediate telemedicine service without reservations, with an average rating of 4.35. 87% of the apps offered selective care, but the overall quality of the apps was low, with an average total quality score of 3.27. 73.9% of the apps were able to provide selective care for alopecia or morning-after pill prescription, 65.2% of the apps for weight loss, and 52.2% of the apps for erectile dysfunction, with the potential to encourage medical inducement or abuse. Therefore, before introducing telemedicine, it is helpful to prevent the possibility of abuse of telemedicine by establishing detailed policies for methods and scope of telemedicine.

This study aimed to compare the dietary factors related to sarcopenia and obesity status in 5458 elderly individuals (2391 men and 3076 women) aged ≥65 years from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2016-2019). Participants were categorized into normal, sarcopenia, obesity, and sarcopenic obesity groups. Sarcopenic obesity showed a higher prevalence of diabetes and lower HDL cholesterol levels compared to obesity. Sarcopenic obesity exhibited a lower total KHEI score and lower adequacy, including meat/fish/eggs/beans, than normal or obesity. In women, sarcopenic obesity scored lower than obesity on the total KHEI, adequacy for most foods, and balance of energy intake, and lower than sarcopenia on the adequacy of breakfast and milk/milk products. Sarcopenic obesity showed no significant difference in energy intake compared to sarcopenia, and less physical activity compared to sarcopenia and obesity, with a BMI/waist circumference comparable to that of obesity. Low total KHEI scores and scores for meat/fish/eggs/beans were most closely associated with sarcopenia in men and with sarcopenic obesity in women. In conclusion, low dietary quality and inadequate protein-rich foods are possibly associated with the prevalence of sarcopenic obesity in elderly Koreans, especially in women. Adequate energy intake and dietary diversity may be effective in managing sarcopenic obesity.

BACKGROUND: A consolidation strategy has not been established for transplant-ineligible elderly patients with primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL). In this study, we aimed to retrospectively evaluate the clinical outcomes of etoposide and cytarabine (EA) as consolidation chemotherapy for transplant-ineligible patients with PCNSL following high-dose methotrexate (MTX)-based induction chemotherapy. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Between 2015 and 2021, newly diagnosed transplant-ineligible patients with PCNSL with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma were consecutively enrolled. All enrolled patients were over 60 years old and received EA consolidation after achieving a complete or partial response following induction chemotherapy. RESULTS: Of the 85 patients who achieved a complete or partial response to MTX-based induction chemotherapy, 51 received EA consolidation chemotherapy. Among the 25 (49.0%, 25/51) patients in partial remission before EA consolidation, 56% (n = 14) achieved complete remission after EA consolidation. The median overall survival and progression-free survival were 43 and 13 months, respectively. Hematological toxicities were most common, and all patients experienced grade 4 neutropenia and thrombocytopenia. Forty-eight patients experienced febrile neutropenia during consolidation chemotherapy, and 4 patients died owing to treatment-related complications. CONCLUSION: EA consolidation chemotherapy for transplant-ineligible, elderly patients with PCNSL improved response rates but showed a high relapse rate and short progression-free survival. The incidences of treatment-related mortality caused by hematologic toxicities and severe infections were very high, even after dose modification. Therefore, the use of EA consolidation should be reconsidered in elderly patients with PCNSL.

This study aimed to identify the combined factors of physical activity and diet associated with non-sarcopenic non-obese status in 1586 diabetic patients aged ≥65 years from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2016 to 2019). Participants were categorized into non-sarcopenic non-obesity (NSNO), sarcopenia non-obesity (SNO), non-sarcopenic obesity (NSO), and sarcopenic obesity (SO) groups. NSNO had lower insulin, HOMA-IR, and triglycerides compared to NSO and SO. NSNO had lower perceived stress, higher nutrition education and dietary supplement intake. As assessed by the Korean Healthy Eating Index, NSNO scored higher total than SNO and SO, in breakfast and energy balance compared to SO, and in the adequacy of vegetables and meat/fish/egg/bean compared to SNO. NSNO had significantly higher energy and protein intake and physical activity, with BMI/waist circumference lower than NSO, SO, and comparable to SNO. Physical activity was positively associated with NSNO. Low Total KHEI score and protein intake level reduced the odds ratio (OR) of NSNO, particularly when physical activity was insufficient, with OR = 0.38 for KHEI Q1 and OR = 0.32 for protein T1. In conclusion, physical activity, diet quality, and protein intake are associated with NSNO prevalence in Korean elderly with diabetes, and energy balance through active intake and expenditure may be effective.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to determine the overall oral health statuses of patients with fixed orthodontic appliance and clear aligner, as well as their oral hygiene management behaviours and satisfaction. METHODS: We selected 40 participants (20 each with fixed orthodontic devices and clear aligners) who visited a dental clinic. We conducted a survey to determine the oral hygiene management behaviours of the subjects and their satisfaction with their orthodontic treatment. Three measurements were also conducted at 4-week intervals to determine the oral health statuses of the subjects. RESULTS: The Löe and Silness gingival index of patients with fixed orthodontic appliances indicated moderate gingivitis (1.1 ± 0.3), and those with clear aligners had mild gingivitis (0.6 ± 0.4) (p < 0.001). The modified O'Leary index also indicated that the degree of dental plaque deposition in the oral cavity was lower in patients treated with a clear aligner (43.0 ± 18.2 points) than in those treated with a fixed orthodontic (28.1 ± 10.9 points) (p = 0.004). Regarding oral hygiene management, the fixed orthodontic group received scaling more frequently (p = 0.006), received more oral health education (p < 0.001) and had a longer brushing time (p = 0.008) than the clear aligner group. No significant difference was observed in satisfaction between the fixed orthodontic appliance and the clear aligner. CONCLUSIONS: Regarding the oral health status by orthodontic appliance type, the clear aligner group had the advantages of reduction in dental plaque attachment and gingival health. The fixed orthodontic group exhibited better oral hygiene management behaviours. Satisfaction with orthodontic treatment was found to be similar for the two device types.

BACKGROUND: Thyroid cancer overdiagnosis is a major public health issue in South Korea, which has the highest incidence rate. The accessibility of information through the Internet, particularly on YouTube, could potentially impact excessive screening. This study aimed to analyze the content of thyroid cancer-related YouTube videos, particularly those from 2016 onwards, to evaluate the potential spread of misinformation. METHODS: A total of 326 videos for analysis were collected using a video search protocol with the keyword "thyroid cancer" on YouTube. This study classified the selected YouTube videos as either provided by medical professionals or not and used topic clustering with LDA (latent dirichlet allocation), sentiment analysis with KoBERT (Korean bidirectional encoder representations from transformers), and reliability evaluation to analyze the content. The proportion of mentions of poor prognosis for thyroid cancer and the categorization of advertising content was also analyzed. RESULTS: Videos by medical professionals were categorized into 7 topics, with "Thyroid cancer is not a 'Good cancer'" being the most common. The number of videos opposing excessive thyroid cancer screening decreased gradually yearly. Videos advocating screening received more favorable comments from viewers than videos opposing excessive thyroid cancer screening. Patient experience videos were categorized into 6 topics, with the "Treatment process and after-treatment" being the most common. CONCLUSION: This study found that a significant proportion of videos uploaded by medical professionals on thyroid cancer endorse the practice, potentially leading to excessive treatments. The study highlights the need for medical professionals to provide high-quality and unbiased information on social media platforms to prevent the spread of medical misinformation and the need for criteria to judge the content and quality of online health information.

ABSTRACT

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a complex neurodegenerative disorder with an unclear etiology. Despite significant research efforts, developing disease-modifying treatments for PD remains a major unmet medical need. Notably, drug repositioning is becoming an increasingly attractive direction in drug discovery, and computational approaches offer a relatively quick and resource-saving method for identifying testable hypotheses that promote drug repositioning. We used an artificial intelligence (AI)-based drug repositioning strategy to screen an extensive compound library and identify potential therapeutic agents for PD. Our AI-driven analysis revealed that efavirenz and nevirapine, approved for treating human immunodeficiency virus infection, had distinct profiles, suggesting their potential effects on PD pathophysiology. Among these, efavirenz attenuated α-synuclein (α-syn) propagation and associated neuroinflammation in the brain of preformed α-syn fibrils-injected A53T α-syn Tg mice and α-syn propagation and associated behavioral changes in the C. elegans BiFC model. Through in-depth molecular investigations, we found that efavirenz can modulate cholesterol metabolism and mitigate α-syn propagation, a key pathological feature implicated in PD progression by regulating CYP46A1. This study opens new avenues for further investigation into the mechanisms underlying PD pathology and the exploration of additional drug candidates using advanced computational methodologies.

INTRODUCTION: The surge in popularity of e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products (HTPs) in South Korea, driven by perceived health benefits and COVID-19-related concerns, has led to increased advertising claims about their safety despite ongoing debates about their health effects. This study explores the marketing strategies of online e-cigarette and HTP retailers in South Korea pre- and post-COVID-19, examining potential misleading claims and providing a foundation for future regulatory measures. METHODS: We conducted a comprehensive study of eight major e-commerce platforms and three dominant search engines in South Korea to analyze the marketing and advertising strategies of e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products (HTPs) (n=774). Using specific keywords, promotional strategies were identified and categorized, after which statistical analysis was conducted to understand the frequency and proportion of these strategies, highlighting differences between HTP and e-cigarette sellers. RESULTS: Our analysis reveals a significant rise in the number of online retailers selling e-cigarettes and HTPs following the COVID-19 pandemic, with the promotional strategies 'Stay home and vape' and 'Trendy' being the most prevalent. Trends also indicate a shift in promotional strategies over the years, with a marked increase in health reassurance themes and appeals to trendiness, particularly targeting female consumers, which were used significantly more at HTPs stores. CONCLUSIONS: The study highlights the need for stricter regulation due to the potential health risks posed by the aggressive marketing strategies of e-cigarette and HTP online retailers in South Korea, amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic.

BACKGROUND: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common and costly progressive neurodegenerative disease of unclear etiology. A disease-modifying approach that can directly stop or slow its progression remains a major unmet need in the treatment of PD. A clinical pharmacology-based drug repositioning strategy is a useful approach for identifying new drugs for PD. METHODS: We analyzed claims data obtained from the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS), which covers a significant portion of the South Korean population, to investigate the association between antihistamines, a class of drugs commonly used to treat allergic symptoms by blocking H1 receptor, and PD in a real-world setting. Additionally, we validated this model using various animal models of PD such as the 6-hydroxydopmaine (6-OHDA), α-synuclein preformed fibrils (PFF) injection, and Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) models. Finally, whole transcriptome data and Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) were used to elucidate drug mechanism pathways. RESULTS: We identified fexofenadine as the most promising candidate using National Health Insurance claims data in the real world. In several animal models, including the 6-OHDA, PFF injection, and C. elegans models, fexofenadine ameliorated PD-related pathologies. RNA-seq analysis and the subsequent experiments suggested that fexofenadine is effective in PD via inhibition of peripheral immune cell infiltration into the brain. CONCLUSION: Fexofenadine shows promise for the treatment of PD, identified through clinical data and validated in diverse animal models. This combined clinical and preclinical approach offers valuable insights for developing novel PD therapeutics.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: We designed and evaluated the clinical performance of a plasma circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) panel of 112 genes in various subtypes of lymphoma. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Targeted deep sequencing with an error-corrected algorithm was performed in ctDNA from plasma samples that were collected before treatment in 42 lymphoma patients. Blood buffy coat was utilized as a germline control. We evaluated the targeted gene panel using mutation detection concordance on the plasma samples with matched tissue samples analyzed the mutation profiles of the ctDNA. RESULTS: Next-generation sequencing analysis using matched tissue samples was available for 18 of the 42 patients. At least one mutation was detected in the majority of matched tissue biopsy samples (88.9%) and plasma samples (83.3%). A considerable number of mutations (40.4%) that were detected in the tissue samples were also found in the matched plasma samples. Majority of patients (21/42) were diffuse large B cell lymphoma patients. The overall detection rate of ctDNA in patients was 85.7% (36/42). The frequently mutated genes included PIM1, TET2, BCL2, KMT2D, KLHL6, HIST1H1E, and IRF8. A cutoff concentration (4,506 pg/mL) of ctDNA provided 88.9% sensitivity and 82.1% specificity to predict ctDNA mutation detection. The ctDNA concentration correlated with elevated lactate dehydrogenase level and the disease stage. CONCLUSION: Our design panel can detect many actionable gene mutations, including those at low frequency. Therefore, liquid biopsy can be applied clinically in the evaluation of lymphoma patients, especially in aggressive lymphoma patients.

ABSTRACT

Although alcohol use disorder (AUD) is associated with a high disease burden due to medical consequences, people with AUD often do not receive appropriate treatment or community health service support. Peer-support services, intended to bridge the gap between patients with AUD and mental health providers have produced successful results. However, the number of studies on peer supporters in South Korea, especially those with AUD, is limited. Therefore, research on the effectiveness or challenges faced by AUD peer supporters in Korea is required to meet the challenges posed by increases in the numbers and capabilities of peer supporters in the mental health field. This qualitative study (N = 13), included focus group interviews of AUD peer supporters (n = 7), and supervisors of peer supporters (n = 6). Focus group data were analysed using thematic analysis methods. These analyses identified themes including 'Life before AUD peer supporters: The moment of change', 'Effects of peer support services: Working as peer supporters changed our lives', 'Challenges of peer supporter services: Things experienced as a team' and 'Future directions: How we can improve peer support services'? Findings indicate that healthcare professionals, educated to maintain clear boundaries, are discouraged from disclosing personal information or developing personal relationships with patients. On the other hand, peer supporters discuss personal histories and prioritize personal connections. By acting as comrades, peer supporters have positive effects. By sharing their experiences, peer supporters formed appropriate relationships with AUD patients and families resulting in more active engagement in treatment programmes and increased numbers of patients receiving outpatient treatment.

AIMS: This study was conducted to develop a population pharmacokinetic (PK) model of methotrexate in Korean patients with haematologic malignancy, identify factors affecting methotrexate PK, and propose an optimal dosage regimen for the Korean population. METHODS: Data were retrospectively collected from 188 patients with acute leukaemia or non-Hodgkin's lymphoma who were admitted to Severance Hospital during the period from November 2005 to January 2016. Using demographic factors and laboratory results as potential covariates for PK parameters, model development was performed using NONMEM and optimal dosing regimens were developed using the final PK model. RESULTS: A two-compartment model incorporating body weight via allometry best described the data, yielding typical parameter values of 25.09 L for central volume of distribution ( V 1 ), 17.65 L for peripheral volume of distribution ( V 2 ), 12.89 L/h for clearance (CL) and 0.655 L/h for inter-compartmental clearance in a 50 kg patient. Covariate analyses showed that, at the weight of 50 kg, CL decreased by 0.11 L/h for each 1-year increase in age above 14 years old and decreased 0.8-fold when serum creatinine level doubled, indicating the importance of age-specific dose individualization in methotrexate treatment. Volume of distribution at steady state derived from PK parameters (= V 1 + V 2 ) was 0.85 L/kg, which was similar to those in the Western or Chinese populations. Optimal doses simulated from the final model successfully produced the PK measures close to the target chosen. CONCLUSIONS: The population PK model and optimal dosage regimens developed in this study can be used as a basis to achieve precision dosing in Korean patients with haematologic malignancy.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: Access to research programs and increased diversity in research enrollment may be key to improving diverse populations' health and healthcare outcomes. To facilitate research recruitment, a Research Registry ("Registry"), a pre-recruitment database, was developed at an urban tertiary Autism Center ("Autism Center"). In this study, we examined whether disparities in research participation occur in the pre-research recruitment (pre-recruitment) stage. METHODS: We compared demographic factors of patients seen at the Autism Center (but not enrolled in the Registry) vs. patients enrolled in the Registry. We also examined whether demographic factors differ among the Registry participants who were enrolled in the Registry by signing an informed consent form (ICF) vs. by returning a research interest form (RIF). RESULTS: A total of 18,522 patients (including 1092 patients in the Registry with 403 patients via ICF and 689 patients via RIF) were included in this study. English as the primary language, White race, Non-Hispanic ethnicity, and younger age at their first clinic encounter were associated with the Registry. In the Registry sample, the RIF group had a higher proportion of non-English as a primary language, Medicaid insurance, longer distance from the Autism Center, and lower median household income (based on their ZIP code) than the ICF group. CONCLUSIONS: This study suggests that disparities may have existed in the pre-research recruitment stage. To achieve equity in both clinical and research advancements in autism and related developmental disorders, further efforts are needed to equitably disseminate research opportunities to patients of diverse backgrounds.

ABSTRACT

Diatoms have long been used as living biological indicators for the assessment of water quality in lakes and rivers worldwide. While this approach benefits from the great diversity of these unicellular algae, established protocols are time-consuming and require specialized equipment. Here, this work 3D prints diatom-laden hydrogels that can be used as a simple multiplex bio-indicator for water assessment. The hydrogel-based living materials are created with the help of a desktop extrusion-based printer using a suspension of diatoms, cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) and alginate as bio-ink constituents. Rheology and mechanical tests are employed to establish optimum bio-ink formulations, whereas cell culture experiments are utilized to evaluate the proliferation of the entrapped diatoms in the presence of selected water contaminants. Bioprinting of diatom-laden hydrogels is shown to be an enticing approach to generate living materials that can serve as low-cost bio-indicators for water quality assessment.

ABSTRACT

This study sought to examine the association between male-to-female physical, psychological, and sexual violence and controlling behaviors of male partners. Further, the moderating effect of insecure attachment style on this association was examined in the context of South Korea. Existing national data collected from a representative Korean sample of 2,000 unmarried men was utilized. Findings indicated controlling behaviors among men were positively and negatively associated with psychological and physical violence, respectively, and no association was observed with sexual violence against female partners. Anxious attachment moderated the relationship between control over partner and psychological abuse. The avoidant attachment was identified as a quasi and pure moderator for the associations between control over the partner and physical and sexual violence, respectively.

ABSTRACT

Technology-facilitated sexual violence (TFSV) is an emerging form of gender-based violence. An understanding regarding the circumstance of TFSV and related health outcomes is limited. This qualitative study analyzed postings from an anonymous Korean website on which women suffering from TFSV freely posted messages asking for help and voicing concerns. Victims made efforts to solve problems that remained unresolved, thereby creating difficulties in their daily lives, and compelling them to quit jobs or break social relationships. They reported mental health concerns including suicide ideation, anxiety, frustration, sleep disorders, and depression. Results infer the imperative nature of research, intervention, and political action.

ABSTRACT

Background: Oxylipins are inflammatory biomarkers derived from omega-3 and-6 fatty acids implicated in inflammatory diseases but have not been studied in a genome-wide association study (GWAS). The aim of this study was to identify genetic loci associated with oxylipins and oxylipin profiles to identify biologic pathways and therapeutic targets for oxylipins. Methods: We conducted a GWAS of plasma oxylipins in 316 participants in the Diabetes Autoimmunity Study in the Young (DAISY). DNA samples were genotyped using the TEDDY-T1D Exome array, and additional variants were imputed using the Trans-Omics for Precision Medicine (TOPMed) multi-ancestry reference panel. Principal components analysis of 36 plasma oxylipins was used to capture oxylipin profiles. PC1 represented linoleic acid (LA)- and alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)-related oxylipins, and PC2 represented arachidonic acid (ARA)-related oxylipins. Oxylipin PC1, PC2, and the top five loading oxylipins from each PC were used as outcomes in the GWAS (genome-wide significance: p < 5×10-8). Results: The SNP rs143070873 was associated with (p < 5×10-8) the LA-related oxylipin 9-HODE, and rs6444933 (downstream of CLDN11) was associated with the LA-related oxylipin 13 S-HODE. A locus between MIR1302-7 and LOC100131146, rs10118380 and an intronic variant in TRPM3 were associated with the ARA-related oxylipin 11-HETE. These loci are involved in inflammatory signaling cascades and interact with PLA2, an initial step to oxylipin biosynthesis. Conclusion: Genetic loci involved in inflammation and oxylipin metabolism are associated with oxylipin levels.
