ABSTRACT

The functional activity of bcl-2 andp53 proteins in erythrokariocytes of erythroblastic islands (EI) of various classes of bone marrow belonging to intact rats and animals following an acute blood loss were investigated. It is observed that intact rats had the elevated levels of percent content of bcl-2+ erythrokariocytes in EI of the second maturity class, compared to EI of first maturity class and EI involutionary class, and also less in the EI involutionary class compared to EI 1 and EI 2. The percentage content of p53+ erythrokariocytes in intact rats in the EI 2 class was less than in EI 1 and EI involutionary class, and were nearly the same of EI 1, EI 3, EI involutionary class and EI reconstructed. 48 hours after blood loss, the content of bcl-2+ erythrokariocytes were increased in EI 1, EI 2, and EI reconstructed.

ABSTRACT

During 2002-2010 years the authors made more than 14 thousand USDS of the brachycephalic zone arteries. In 32 cases (32 men and 8 women) there were disturbances of blood flow due to local intima dysplasia (hyperplasia) in the zone of bifurcation of the common carotid artery by the detected "pathological valve". Alterations in the bifurcation of the common carotid artery were confirmed by angiographic investigation. Surgical treatment was fulfilled in 23 patients. Disturbances of the brain blood circulation of different degree in the carotid artery basin were noted in case histories of all operated patients. Morphological and histological investigations of the resected fragments of the carotid arteries established that the intravascular formations called by us "pathological valves" had the structure similar to that of the intima of the vessel and were not a manifestation of the atherosclerotic process.

ABSTRACT

The blood plasma erythropoietin content, erythropoietin content, erythropoietin and cellular renovation markers expression in exocervical epithelium in reproductive aged women with normal peripheral red blood values were studied. It was determined that erythropoietin expression increased in exocervical epithelium activity (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia 1 and 2), combined with the increase of blood plasma erythropoietin level, activation of pro- and antiapoptosis programs and cellular proliferation processes in cervical epithelium.

ABSTRACT

Blood erythropoietin level was investigated in females of reproductive age, who had normal peripheral red blood findings. It was determined that blood erythropoietin level was 1.5-2 times higher (20.04 +/- 2.10; 28.57 +/- 5.87 mU/ml) in examined females with increased mitotic activity and hyperplasia signs of cervical squamous epithelia compared with female having normal cervix (12.73 +/- 0.96 mU/ml). In females with chronic cervicitis, blood erythropoietin level was decreased (8.87 +/- 1.72 mU/ml).

ABSTRACT

A complex clinicomorphological examination was performed in 39 patients with chronic otitis media (OM) who had undergone reconstructive sanative surgery. The analysis of the results of the above examination provided information on efficacy of the original method of semiquantitative assessment of local cell reactivity and qualitative composition of tissue elements (content of lymphocytes, plasmocytes, fibroblasts; the degree of development of the capillaries, fibrosis, stasis, edema, inflammation activity by neutrophil count). A retrospective analysis of tympanic membrane graft retention depending on morphological intraoperative condition of the middle ear mucosa and retrotympanic compartments enables prognosis of tympanoplasty outcome in chronic OM.

ABSTRACT

The modification of peritoneal cells derivation method proposed for the peritoneum rat, and the absolute amount of peritoneal lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, stem and polymorphonuclear neutrophyles, mat cells was determined. The procedure of acute 2% blood loss was found to reduce the total amount of the peritoneal cells due to depletion of lymphocytes accompanied by an increase in amount and proliferative activity of monocyte peritoneal cells, stem neutrophiles appearance in the peritoneal cavity. The subcutaneous injection of colchicine solution reduces the number of the peritoneal macrophages in normal rats, decreases the number of the monocytes, polymorphonuclear neutrophiles and led to disappearance of the stem neutrophiles on the second day of blood loss.

ABSTRACT

A low-frequency ultrasound device UZOL-01-Ch was applied for therapy of chronic tonsillitis (CT). The activity of chronic inflammation was followed up under action of 0.05% dioxidine solution coming through the device UZOL-01-Ch on the tissues of palatine tonsils in CT at a clinical remission phase in 34 CT patients. CT activity degrees were proposed which were defined by the presence and distribution of polymorphonuclear neutrophils in inflammatory cellular infiltrate of palatine tonsil mucosa in CT. These degrees help assessed the results of therapeutic effect of the device UZOL-01-Ch on tonsil tissue in CT. Use of the device provided depression of inflammation activity in tonsil mucosa in CT patients at a clinical remission phase.

ABSTRACT

Erythroblastic islands of the bone marrow are morpho-fuctional units of erythropoiesis. The functional state of the erythroblastic islands' erythrokariocytes and central macrophages of the bone marrow was first studied by estimation of the content of ribonucleoproteids in its cells (Brashe reaction). Acute blood loss and posttransfusion polycytemia lead to enhancement of the content of ribonucleoproteids in erythrokariocytes and central macrophages of the bone marrow of the rates.

ABSTRACT

Erythroblastic islands of the bone marrow are morpho-functional units of erythropoiesis. The functional state of erythroblastic islands' cells of the bone marrow was for the first time defined by estimation of activity of the nuclear organisers of the central macrophages in the erythroblastic islands cultivated for 24 hrs in presence of various doses of the colony-stimulating macrophage factor. The findings indicate that increased doses of the colonystimulating macrophage factor was accompanied by a respective enhancement of the activity of nucleolar organisers in central macrophages of erythroblastic islands.

ABSTRACT

The erythroblastic islands of the bone marrow are morphofunctional units of erythropoiesis. In this work the functional state of erythroblastic islands' cells of the bone marrow, for the first time, was defined by the estimation of the activity of the nucleolar organizers of central macrophages in the erythroblastic islands, cultivated during 24 and 48 hours with the presence of various doses of erythropoietin. The findings indicated that the increase in doses of erythropoietin was accompanied by the corresponding increase of the activity of nucleolar organizers in central macrophages of erythroblastic islands. The nucleolar organizers of central macrophages in cultures of erythroblastic islands responded to very small doses of erythropoietin by their activation.

ABSTRACT

The erythroblast islands of the bone marrow are the morphofunctional units of erythropoiesis. In this work, the functional state of erythroblast islands' cells of the bone marrow for the first time was defined by estimation of the activity of the nucleolar organizers of erythroid cells in the erythroblast islands cultivated during 24 and 48 hours in presence of various doses of erythropoietin. The findings indicated that an increase in doses of erythropoietin was accompanied by a corresponding increase of the activity of nucleolar organizers in erythrokaryocytes of erythroblast islands. The nucleolar organizers of erythroid cells in cultures of erythroblast islands responded with activation to very small doses of erythropoietin; besides, a proliferative response of erythrokaryocytes was observed after activation of the nucleolar organizers.

ABSTRACT

Erythroblastic islands (EIs) of the bone marrow are the morpho-functional units of the erythron. The functional state of the cells of EIs of varying maturity was first studied by estimating the activity of nucleolar organizers in intact rats and in rats with acute blood loss or posttransfusion polycythemia by the modified method of J. Croker and P. Nar. The intact rats had the largest number of nucleoli and intranuclear argentum inclusions located within and outside the nucleoli in EIs of proliferating classes: Class 1 EIs and reconstructing EIs and the smallest number in involutional EIs. Blood loss was accompanied by the enhanced activity of nucleolar organizers in EI cells. In polycythemia, the activity of the organizers changed in a more complicated manner.

ABSTRACT

A morphological study of biopsy samples of gastric polyps from 224 patients was carried out. Four stages in gastric polyp morphogenesis were distinguished: foveolar hyperplasia, hyperplastic polyp, "two-floor" adenoma and adenoma. The correlation was established between the degree of Helicobacter pylori infection in the polyp mucous membrane on the one hand, and epithelial and stromal reactions (immuno-inflammatory reaction of stroma, chronic inflammation, formation of Russel bodies, cystes and chronic erosions) on the other. Greater content of stromal collagens, type IV collagen in case of gastric hyperplastic lesions was observed. Appearance and progression of gastric adenomatous growth in hyperplastic polyp correlates with an increase of type III collagen content, decrease of types I, IV, V collagens and fibronectin.
