ABSTRACT

The data, concerning significance of indices, characterizing trophic peculiarities of the patients, were presented, basing on comparative analysis of two groups of these persons, in whom restrictive (in 41) and shunting (in 32) bariatric interventions were done for obesity. Conclusion, concerning comparable efficacy of both procedures and prognostic significance of the body mass index loss, was made.

ABSTRACT

The efficacy of prophylaxis of tromboembolic complications in surgical treatment of 331 patients with morbid obesity, who underwent different bariatric operations, is estimated. The comparative analysis and results of application of non-fractionized heparin and low molecular weight heparins (Fraxiparin) in patients, suffering morbid obesity, are presented.

Gastric shunting constitutes standard bariatric intervention in USA and Western Europe countries. In the states of Eastern Europe and CIS these operations are still introducing. ABSTRACT

Experience of surgical treatment of 8 patients with morbid obesity, using regulated cuff Lap Band, was adduced. Body mass of patients have constituted from 105 to 185, (14.5 +/- 2.5) kg at average, body mass index--from 38 to 60 kg/m2. In all patients good result of treatment was noted in term from 6 to 28 months. Immediate results of the method usage gives evidence of its efficacy.

ABSTRACT

Vertical gastroplasty was applied in surgical treatment of obesity in two patients. There were no complications. During the first year after the operation the patients body mass have reduced by 35-41 kg (25-29% of initial).
