ABSTRACT

In experiment on rabbits by histomorphometric method it was shown that after the use during 4 months of titanium plate with the culture of marrow mesenchymal stromal cells there happened full infill of mandible defect by lamellar bone tissue. In control group (titanium plate with inactivated culture of cells) the defect was replaced by regenerate, the most part of it was rough fibrous connective tissue. In experimental group in the central parts of the defect regenerate were characterized by bigger weight of lamellar bone matrix if compared with the peripheral parts of the defect that testified to higher level of its differentiation. Use of stem cells on titanium carrier led in 4 months experiment to full infill of jaw defect by lamellar bone tissue.

ABSTRACT

Different types of dental materials (DM) were studied for their capacity to release histamine in vitro from basophils of whole blood of allergic patients and healthy donors using automated and computerized glass fiber-based leukocyte histamine release test (LHRT). It was shown that some types of DM possessed ability to release histamine from basophils and some didn't. There were no differences in histamine releaseability from basophils obtained from allergic patients and healthy donors. LHRT gives opportunity to recognize of DM possessing high or low histamine releaseability as well as to detect individual sensitivity to different DM. Thus, LHRT can be used for preliminary assessment of DM for their biocompatibility and also for individual selection of suitable DM for particular patient to avoid unwanted side effects.

ABSTRACT

The characteristics of the following domestic alloys of noble metals for fixed and removable dentures are given: alloys for metal-ceramic dentures--"Superpal", "Super KM"; alloys for clasp dental prostheses--"Super LB"; solders--"Becadent" and "Super VP"; alloy for castings and metal-composite constructions "Super TZ" and material for electrochemical gold cover "Super KEMZ". The above alloys open wide perspectives in the field of prosthetic treatment of main dental diseases due to their unique properties--high functional efficacy, longevity and biological inactivity.

ABSTRACT

Using developed by us method and instrument Periosensomer the sensor function of the periodontium on the initial stages of masticatory act (test of holding and splitting of food object) in persons with different functional periodontium status was explored. Evaluation of the sensor function of the periodontium and dynamics of the sensor reaction during holding and splitting of food object can be used as the method of functional diagnostics in the prosthetic stomatological clinic.

ABSTRACT

327 patients with dentures supported by 318 pulpless teeth reinforced by pin constructions were under observation. Main types of complications after pin use were identified. By math simulation the system "covering construction-artificial stump-root pin-root of the tooth" was studied for teeth 11, 13, 15, 16, 41, 43, 45, 46 in two projections--vestibulo-oral and mesio-distal. Margins of strength properties of teeth armed by special pin constructions (made as individual casting) and artificial stump with standard pins made of different materials were determined. Optimal parameters of height and width of off-root part and intra-root pin sizes in different teeth groups in conformity with their individual anatomic peculiarities were established.

ABSTRACT

There was determined shearing strength of monolit samples of light curing material and samples received by modeling of further layers on surfaces with and without inhibited layer and also tensile strength of layers connected with the help of light curing adhesive. The study was performed on enamel, dentine and cutting edge masses from set of light curing material Esterfill PHOTO for prosthetic purposes. The received results showed that shearing strength between layers of enamel, dentine and cutting edge masses of Esterfill PHOTO varied between 22 and 28 MPa and tensile force divided by the nominal surface area did not depend upon the way of sample modeling. Distraction zone represented half of the cone turn out of substrate. More rigid material chopped in the process of distraction lesser volume off substrate. For prosthetic purposes it was recommended to use the equipment allowing to combine the final photopolymerization of the article with annealing under high temperature conditions or make annealing of the ready article after photopolymerization.

ABSTRACT

Described in the paper is the possibility of using the specific anomalies of tooth rows in personality identification. The existing classifications of tooth-row anomalies are elucidated; published data on epidemiology of dentomaxillary anomalies in the Russian Federation and on jaw models are analyzed. Digital photos of tooth rows were used. The possible use of orthodontic methods as applicable to investigating the tooth-row anomalies is contemplated for personality identification.

ABSTRACT

The quality of life was assessed in 36 patients with painful dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and 73 patients with TMJ dysfunctions suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. A more significant negative time course of the parameters was observed in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and more positive shifts in patients with isolated TMJ dysfunction without rheumatoid arthritis.

ABSTRACT

Adhesion of obligate and facultative anaerobic bacteria, favoring the development of oral inflammatory diseases, including the cariesogenic and periodontogenic bacteria and Candida albicans fungi, isolated from patients with periodontitis, to 13 basic materials used in removable denture making, was studied. The adhesion of all bacteria (Streptococcus sanguis, Prevotella melangogenica, Fusobacterium nucleatum, Corynebacterium xerosis) and fungi to hot polymerization basic materials was the maximum. The most perspective basic plastic for clinical use (preserving intact oral microbiocenosis and preventing stomatitis induced by denture wearing) are cold polymerization materials, such as Redont-03, Dentoplast Breden, Leocryl, and UHF polymerization materials Acron GC, AKR-MV, and Etakril-02.

ABSTRACT

Adhesion of bacteria favoring the development of oral inflammations, including cariesogenic and periodontopathogenic (Actinobacillus actinomycetemcommitans, Streptococcus sanguis, Fusobacterium nucleatum, Staphylococcus warneri) and yeast fungi (Candida albicans), to 13 materials used for making provisional dentures was studied. Adhesion of all the studied bacteria and fungi to Russian material Esterfil Foto was the minimum. Clinical use of this material in patients with chronic generalized periodontitis showed that it was well tolerated and the treatment led to improvement of oral microbiocenosis.

ABSTRACT

A computer study of 99 types of mathematical models of teeth armed with stump pin insertions widely used in dentistry (group 1--anchor pins and group 2--cast pin insertions suggested by the authors). Tooth models differed by shape, size, and properties of the design material. The shape and parameters of stump pin insertion were proven to be more significant than the properties of design material. The choice of pin design is determined by the clinical situation, topography and anatomy of tooth crown destruction, and maxillodental disease.
