ABSTRACT

The authors describe the results of a comprehensive examination of 5 persons with chromosomal aberration (47, XYY) manifesting the signs of deviation from normal sexual behavior. The examined were shown to have common dysontogenesis that manifested itself by retardation of the biological basis of sexuality, psychosexual formation together with retardation of the mental processes on the whole. Whatever variants of deviations from normal sexual behavior the common feature was predominance in the libido structure of sadistic aims, that contributed to the revealing of aggressive sexual behavior. Material changes were discovered by radioimmunoassay in the function of the hypothalamohypophyseal and gonadal system in persons with the "YY syndrome". The levels of prolactin and luteinizing hormone along with the LH/FSH ratio appeared significantly elevated. Disorders were also identified in the hypothalamohypophyseal and thyroid system. It is assumed that the discovered changes influence the serotoninergic mechanisms by which aggressive and pathological sexual behavior is formed in such persons.

ABSTRACT

Dermatoglyphic investigations were performed in 73 male epileptic patients divided into groups according to the age of the disease onset. Besides, epileptic alcohol addicts, normal male subjects having epileptic or normal children were entered into separate groups. A total of 149 subjects underwent this study. Dermatoglyphic patterns consistent with these groups differentiation were detected. This made it possible to arrange the patterns involving different risks for the subject or his offspring to have epilepsy. The data are important for medical genetic consultation and provide information for the theory of genetic issues in epilepsy.

ABSTRACT

A cytogenetic screening of 1868 mentally diseases criminals is performed. 5 man with abnormal karyotypes were found: 2 with the chromosome set 47,XXY; 1--with mosaicism 46,XY/47,XXY and 2--with karyotype 47,XYY. Total frequency of chromosome abnormalities was found to be 0.27% (XXY karyotype--0.16%, XYY--0.11%). Among tall mentally diseased criminals the frequency of XXY set was found to be 0.94%, and of XYY--1.89%. So among tall mentally diseased criminals the frequency of these abnormalities is higher. The frequency of karyotype abnormalities among mentally diseased criminals was not found to be higher than in total population.

ABSTRACT

The authors conducted a cytogenetical, anthropological and clinical study of 5 patients with aneuromia by Y chromosome. A cytogenetical study of 4 patients revealed Kariotype 47, XYY, in one-mosaicism of the 46, XY/47, XYY type. All the patients had drive pathology, and a retarded intellect compared to normal individuals. According to the morphological signs the patients had the following common traits: an increased variability of the mandibular part of the face, a high nose bridge, acne vulgaris. It was also demonstrated that there was a tendency toward a longer body, length of hands. In 3 tall patients there was eunuchoid body built. In one of the patients the structure of the molars corresponded to such of fossil hominids.
