ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: With respect to the broad application of FAPI-46 in therapy and diagnostics, there is a need for an efficient as well as convenient way for routine production and quality control of the theranostic pair [90Y]Y/[68Ga]Ga-FAPI-46, since no monograph is currently available for radiolabelled FAPI derivatives. The aim of the current work is to create a GMP compliant theranostic set up for the production and quality control of the diagnostic [68Ga]Ga-FAPI-46 as well as the therapeutic drug [90 Y]Y-FAPI-46, which can be the basis for future monographic standards. METHODS: Sterile [90Y]yttrium chloride solution and a pharmaceutical grade 68Ge/68Ga generator were applied for the labelling of FAPI-46 using the cassette based synthesis module Trasis EASYONE. All chemicals were GMP-grade and excipients were with marketing authorisation. The quality control included test procedures according to Ph. Eur. RESULTS: Fully automated synthesis of the theranostic pair [90Y]Y/[68Ga]Ga-FAPI-46 was achieved on the Trasis EasyOne synthesizer with a radiochemical yield of 88 ± 7% and 56 ± 5% with a radiochemical purity of >99%. Stability experiments showed a durability for [68Ga]Ga-FAPI-46 within 4 h and for [90Y]Y-FAPI-46 within 24 h. All obtained specifications and validations were compliant with the European Pharmacopoeia and regulatory guidelines. Both products were successfully applied in cancer patients. CONCLUSION: In the present work, efficient and robust procedures for the automated production and quality control of the theranostic pair [68Ga]/[90Y]FAPI 46 were developed and validated using the same synthetic platform. The described methods were evaluated in accordance with existing guidelines and toxicological limits, which can be a valuable basis for future monographic standards.

ABSTRACT

We conducted a personal interview of 2136 Spanish women aged 15 to 49 years with the aim of determining the contraceptive attitudes of this population. A stratified random sampling was performed to select the women who were to be interviewed, and this sampling design ensured adequate representation of the sample in Spain. At the time of the survey, only 1296 of the 2136 women used some type of contraceptive method (60.6%); the most commonly used method was the condom. The major reason given by the 840 women not using contraceptive methods was the absence of sexual intercourse. Nearly 25% of the Spanish women aged 15-49 years reported that they have no sexual relations.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

Pulmonary examinations (i.e. clinical, functional and radiological) were conducted on 76 arc welders from an industrial vehicle production plant and on 74 'controls' from the same plant. Arc welders were exposed for an average of 11 years to welding gases and fumes; controls were not welders and were not exposed to any identifiable professional risk of pulmonary disease. There is no significant difference between these two groups concerning clinical, functional and radiological findings; but the prevalence of pulmonary abnormalities (whatever their type or their intensity) is high in the two groups (60%). This survey does not show any particular risk of pulmonary disease among the arc welders working in this plant. However, complementary studies in other industrial areas are required to investigate possible risks due to other arc-welding processes and other working conditions.

ABSTRACT

Reviewing fourteen cases, the authors show that cervical myelopathies present by spastic quadriplegia associated in half of the cases with sensory impairment and in a third of cases with radicular signs in the upper limbs. Tomography always shows posterior discal osteophytosis, sometimes gross, which reduces the lumen of the canal more particularly since it is associated (eleven times out of fourteen) with constitutional stenosis, of variable severity. Opaque or gaseous myelography makes it possible to exclude malformation or new formation and will demonstrate cord constriction within the canal. Surgical treatment (eleven laminectomies, 1 discectomy-artrodesis) resulted in 7 improvements, no change in 3 cases and 2 exacerbations. The myelopathies appeared to be due to repeated contusions of the cord and its arteries against the wall of the canal, caused by neck movements.
