ABSTRACT

Interferon is the most important mediator of natural immunity, which suggests the use of interferon inducers as therapeutic and preventive agents in the treatment of acute respiratory diseases (ARDs) in children classified into a group of sickly and repeated-ARD patients. The article describes cycloferon--a drug belonging to the group of endogenous interferon inductor--and its mechanism of action, shows its prophylactic and therapeutic efficacy in children with recurrent ARDs. The clinical and pharmacological effectiveness of cycloferon has been confirmed by studying the proteomic profiles of blood plasma in sickly children.

ABSTRACT

There is a tendency to increase the role of education process in the life of the individual, caused by necessity of new knowledge, experience and skills, which is the effective measure to adapt human being to the current social and economic conditions. The idea of education as a relatively short period of life is gone. It becomes obvious, that use of forms and types of adult education becomes limited and inefficient. The development of the modern education system involves training with a high level of independence and leadership of the individual student; provision by vocational education institutions a wide range of educational services; adequate to the needs of the labor market; variability of methods and forms of education; active use of the modern educational technology as one of the most convenient ways of training.

ABSTRACT

At 25 children with insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM, Type I) in a decompensation stage was estimated efficiency of correction secondary hyperlipidemia. The basic group (n = 11) along with insulinotherapy and a lipotrophic preparation (methionine) accepted probiotic Bifiform Baby in a dose 0.5 g once a day within 10 days; the comparison group (n = 14) received insulin therapy and a lipotrophic preparation. Efficiency of treatment was estimated on dynamics of lipids in serum of blood: triglycerides (TG), the total cholesterol (TH), betalipoproteides (BLP). At patients of the basic group authentic decrease TG, TH, BLP was established; at patients of group of comparison--decrease TH and BLP. Advantage of therapy secondary hyperlipidemia at children with diabetic ketoacidosis with use of Bifiform Baby consists in the elimination of the main infringement of a metabolismus of lipids in the given disease--hypertriglyceridemia.

ABSTRACT

The efficacy of cycloferon use in the treatment of frequently ill children (FIC) was estimated by the dynamics of the blood plasma proteomic profile. A group of FIC at the age of 4 to 10 years were observed. Cycloferon was administered according to the standard schemes. The results were analysed by the computer programme complex, including the anamnesis, clinical symptoms, infection index, findings of the electrophoretic and mass-spectrometric analyses of the blood plasma before and after the drug use. The intensity indices of the Rho and Ras proteins, the signal pathways, in the blood proteomic profile proved to be sensitive and specific parameters for estimating the regimens of the therapy and prophylaxis of respiratory tract infection in FIC. The epidemiologic efficacy of cycloferon, as an agent of nonspecific immunoprophylaxis for FIC during seasonal prevalence of respiratory tract infection and influenza cases was shown.

ABSTRACT

The results of investigation of 87 children suffering from chronic gastroduodenitis and atopic dermatitis are presented. All the child underwent fibrogastroduodenoscopy with duodenal mucosal biopsy and diagnostics of Helicobacter pylori infection, lambliasis. Hystomorphological and immunohystochemical studies of mucosal biopsy specimens for Epstein - Barr virus were carried out. The role of atopy and infection factors in genesis of chronic gastroduodenitis was evaluated.

ABSTRACT

The results of investigation of 49 children suffering from chronic gastroduodenitis and atopic dermatitis are presented. All the child underwent serological blood analyses for Epsteine-Barr virus antibodies and fibrogastroduodenoscopy with antral and duodenal mucosal biopsy. Hystomorphological and immunohystochemical studies of mucosal biopsy specimens for Epsteine-Barr virus were carried out. The role of Epsteine-Barr virus in genesis of chronic gastroduodenitis is detected.

ABSTRACT

Based on the results of 11200 endoscopies of the stomach and duodenum, the incidence of peptic ulcer in children was established with regard to the sex and site of ulcer. The authors view peptic ulcer as a heterogeneous disease in terms of the genealogical data and differences in proteolytic activity of gastric proteases in biological media.

ABSTRACT

A classification of hiatal hernias has been developed on the basis of an analysis of the clinical picture and rentgenological examination of 63 children. For the diagnosis of hiatal hernias a method of rentgenological and endoscopic examination is proposed. Remote results of the operative treatment within the period of from 1 to 23 years of follow-up observations are favourable.
