ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: The efficacy of continuous subcutaneous apomorphine infusion (CSAI) for motor complications of Parkinson's disease (PD) is established. However, its effect on cognition and behavior remains controversial. The main objective of this systematic review was to describe the existing literature on the effects of CSAI on cognition and behavior and to determine the quality for each study. METHODS: PubMed/Medline, Embase, APA PsycInfo®, and Cochrane Library databases were searched, following PRISMA recommendations. Only longitudinal studies evaluating the effect of CSAI on cognition (global cognition, executive functions, visuospatial abilities, language, memory, attention, social cognition) and/or behavior (depression, anxiety, apathy, psychotic symptoms, impulse control disorders, neuropsychiatric fluctuations) in PD were included. The quality of the included studies was also assessed with a questionnaire. RESULTS: Twenty-three longitudinal studies evaluated the effect of CSAI on cognition and/or behavior. Overall, results were suggestive of positive effects, notably on executive functions and emotion recognition. However, there were some reports of cognitive slowing and long-term global cognitive deterioration. At the behavioral level, no study showed significant adverse effect of CSAI. Occasionally, a slight improvement of depression, anxiety, apathy, and neuropsychiatric fluctuations was reported. Nevertheless, only four studies met good quality criteria and controlled study regarding cognition were lacking. CONCLUSION: The results suggest that CSAI has no obvious negative effects on cognition and behavior in PD. This treatment even shows promise in reducing certain symptoms such as neuropsychiatric fluctuations. However, due to methodological limitations in many studies, no robust conclusions can be drawn. Further multicenter controlled trials are needed to confirm these results.

BACKGROUND: Rural U.S. residents experience a disproportionate burden of diet and physical activity (PA) related chronic disease compared to urban residents, due to resource and economic challenges. Diverse policy approaches for chronic disease prevention have been implemented to address barriers to breastfeeding, healthy eating, and PA. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to describe policy supports for breastfeeding, healthy eating, and/or PA occurring in rural U.S. areas. METHODS: A scoping review was conducted March-June 2020 to identify policy, systems, and environment change approaches occurring in the rural U.S. for breastfeeding, healthy eating, and PA. Search procedures were guided by the PRISMA-ScR, Arksey and O'Malley's work (2007), and a science librarian. Medline, PubMed, Web of Science, and Agricola were used to identify peer-reviewed research. ProQuest Dissertations and Theses A&I were used to identify dissertation research. Grey literature searches included Google, Google Scholar, government pages, and public health, federal nutrition assistance program, Cooperative Extension Services, and related webpages. Policy results are reported and inclusion criteria were: (1) breastfeeding, healthy eating, and/or PA focus; (2) about policy factors; (3) specific to U.S. rural populations/places; and (4) English language. Outcomes (study/source design, objective(s), methods/measurement, setting, population characteristics, behavioral focus, policy-specific results) were extracted into a standardized Excel document. RESULTS: Results include 122 total sources: original research, with some sources referencing multiple behaviors, (n = 74 sources: 8 breastfeeding, 41 healthy eating, 42 PA), grey literature (n = 45 sources: 16 breastfeeding, 15 healthy eating, 27 PA), and graduate research (n = 3 sources: 1 breastfeeding, 2 healthy eating, 1 PA). Breastfeeding policy initiatives included policies or programs at hospitals, increasing access to resources, and improving culture or norms at workplaces. Healthy eating policy initiatives included increasing access to healthy foods, reducing financial burden, implementing programs, food assistance programs, and healthy food prescriptions at healthcare facilities. PA policy initiatives focused on Complete Streets, joint or shared use efforts, Safe Routes to Schools, master plans for greenways, trails, and/or transportation, school health plans, and childcare/school standards. CONCLUSIONS: Results from this scoping review compile and offer commentary on existing policy solutions to improve breastfeeding, healthy eating, and/or PA in the rural U.S.

ABSTRACT

Surface facial electromyography (EMG) is commonly used to detect emotions from subtle facial expressions. Although there are established procedures for collecting EMG data and some aspects of their processing, there is little agreement among researchers about the optimal way to process the EMG signal, so that the study-unrelated variability (noise) is removed, and the emotion-related variability is best detected. The aim of the current paper was to establish an optimal processing pipeline for EMG data for identifying emotional expressions in facial muscles. We identified the most common processing steps from existing literature and created 72 processing pipelines that represented all the different processing choices. We applied these pipelines to a previously published dataset from a facial mimicry experiment, where 100 adult participants observed happy and sad facial expressions, whilst the activity of their facial muscles, zygomaticus major and corrugator supercilii, was recorded with EMG. We used a resampling approach and subsets of the original data to investigate the effect and robustness of different processing choices on the performance of a logistic regression model that predicted the mimicked emotion (happy/sad) from the EMG signal. In addition, we used a random forest model to identify the most important processing steps for the sensitivity of the logistic regression model. Three processing steps were found to be most impactful: baseline correction, standardisation within muscles, and standardisation within subjects. The chosen feature of interest and the signal averaging had little influence on the sensitivity to the effect. We recommend an optimal processing pipeline, share our code and data, and provide a step-by-step walkthrough for researchers.

BACKGROUND: Play Streets, which are community-based environmental initiatives where public spaces/streets are temporarily closed to create safe, low-cost physical activity opportunities, have demonstrated feasibility and physical activity benefit in rural US areas. Yet, information is needed to identify implementation characteristics that may promote sustainability. This study examined rural Play Streets implementation characteristics that could impact sustainability from local partners' perspectives. METHODS: Sixteen Play Streets implementation team members in rural Maryland, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Texas, USA, participated in interviews. Semi-structured in-person individual and group interviews were conducted in the fall of 2018 (after Play Streets implementation in 2017 and 2018), recorded, and transcribed verbatim. Transcripts were analyzed using iterative, content analyses. Coding frameworks were based on the Public Health Program Capacity for Sustainability Framework, and emergent themes were also identified. RESULTS: Interviewees' perceived characteristics for facilitating Play Streets implementation aligned with the Public Health Program Capacity for Sustainability Framework: funding stability, political support, partnerships, organizational capacity, program adaption, and communication. Interviewees also noted the importance of cultural alignment/support and the reciprocal impact of community connectedness/engagement. CONCLUSIONS: Future research should examine the reciprocal role of public health impacts, as both outcomes and factors which may influence sustainability.

While literature suggests that youth physical activity (PA) behaviors are affected by network influences, less is known about network influences on perceived skill competency, a component of physical literacy and self-efficacy. This study aims to provide an understanding of potential network characteristics which are associated with youth PA skill competency. Youth (n = 158) between the ages of 8 and 12 years recruited from two summer care programs (i.e., Boys & Girls Clubs) participated in researcher-administered surveys. Youth self-reported their age, sex, involvement in team sports, weekly PA, and skill competency assessed using a version of the PLAYself measure. Youth were also asked to report up to five people in the summer program and five out of the program with whom they interacted the most. Linear regression was used to evaluate associations between skill competency and demographics, PA, and social network characteristics. Skill competency was significantly associated (R2 = .17) with age (ß = -.06, p = .01), sex (ß = -.06, p = .01), sports team involvement (ß = .16, p < .001), and weekly PA (ß = -.20, p < .001). Skill competency was also significantly associated with the number of connections with whom the youth played frequently (ß = .09, p < .001), the number of connections that helped the youth to be active (ß = .18, p < .001), and the heterogeneity of the type of relationships within the youth's network (ß = .11, p < .001). Skill competency scores were significantly associated with both individual variables and social network composition. In addition, youth with networks comprising several types of relationships (heterogeneity) reported a significantly high skill competency. PA interventions can be most effective when considering the reinforcing aspects of networks and skill competency.

Learning to consider another person's perspective is pivotal in early social development. Still, little is known about the neural underpinnings involved in perspective-taking in early childhood. In this EEG study, we examined 4-year-old children's brain activity during a live, social interaction that involved perspective-taking. Children were asked to pass one of two toys to another person. To decide which toy to pass, they had to consider either their partner's perspective (perspective-taking) or visual features unrelated to their partner's perspective (control). We analyzed power changes in midfrontal and temporal-parietal EEG channels. The results indicated that children showed higher power around 7 Hz at right temporal-parietal channels for perspective-taking compared to control trials. This power difference was positively correlated with children's perspective-taking performance, specifically for trials in which they needed to pass the toy their partner could not see. A similar power difference at right temporal-parietal channels was seen when comparing perspective-taking trials where children's visual access mismatched rather than matched that of their partner. No differences were detected for midfrontal channels. In sum, we identified distinct neural activity as 4-year-olds considered another person's perspective in a live interaction; this activity converges with neural findings of adults' social processing network.

ABSTRACT

Heart failure is a chronic health condition characterized by complex symptom management and costly hospitalizations. Hospitalization for the treatment of heart failure symptoms is common; however, many hospitalizations are thought to be preventable with effective self-management. This study describes the small, pilot implementation of a new, interventional, self-management heart failure program, "Engagement in Heart Failure Care" (EHFC), developed to assist heart failure patients with the management of disease symptoms following discharge from an inpatient hospital stay. EHFC was designed to engage patients in managing their symptoms and coaching them in skills that enable them to access medical and supportive care services across community, clinic, and hospital settings to help address both their current and future needs. The results of this pilot study suggest that EHFC's coaching model may have positive benefits on key health and well-being indicators of the patients enrolled.

ABSTRACT

The digitization of aircraft cockpits places high demands on the colour vision of pilots. The present study investigates colour vision changes upon acute exposure to hypobaric hypoxia. The digital Waggoner Computerized Color Vision Test and the Waggoner D-15 were performed by 54 healthy volunteers in a decompression chamber. Respective altitude levels were sea level, 10,000 or 15,000 ft for exposure periods of 15 and 60 min, respectively. As for 60 min of exposure a significant decrease in colour perception was found between subjects at 15,000 ft as compared to the control group as well as between subjects at 15,000 ft as compared to subjects at 10,000 ft. No significant difference was found in the comparison within the 15,000 ft groups across time points pre-, peri-, and post-exposure. Thus, pilots appear to experience only minor colour vision impairment up to an exposure altitude of 15,000 ft over 60 min of exposure.

ABSTRACT

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) provides nutrition education and support for healthy living in SNAP-qualifying communities. SNAP-Ed supports policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) efforts to make the healthy choice an easier choice. SNAP-Ed implementers have widely adopted healthy eating PSE supports. However, physical activity (PA) PSE strategies are less common, with limited awareness between states of how other SNAP-Ed implementers approach PA-focused PSE work. Physical Activity Policy, Research, and Evaluation Network (PAPREN) Rural Active Living Workgroup project members sought to explore how Extension-based SNAP-Ed implements PA-focused PSE approaches. A sample of Extension-based SNAP-Ed program (n = 8) leaders were purposefully recruited from eligible universities in six of the seven SNAP-Ed regions. An interview guide to systematically collect information about current Extension SNAP-Ed implementation focused on PA PSE strategies was developed iteratively by the PAPREN Rural Active Living Workgroup Extension PA PSE project team. PA PSE Extension SNAP-Ed implementation efforts occurred at the state, county, and community levels and/or within local organizations. PA PSEs included school PA policy change, shared-use agreements, active transportation promotion, park development, walking challenges, and PA-promoting signage. All interviews highlighted the importance of partnerships at local, county, and state levels for PSE efforts. Extension-based SNAP-Ed shows potential to bring community partners together to plan and implement PA-focused PSE approaches. With a focus on SNAP-eligible people and substantial geographic reach, Extension SNAP-Ed is uniquely situated as a public health partner to broadly implement PA PSE changes.

ABSTRACT

Ebola viral disease (EVD) is a highly infectious and potentially fatal illness with a case fatality rate ranging from 25% to 90%. To effectively control its spread, there is a need for rapid, reliable and lowcost point-of-care (P OC) diagnostic tests. While various EVD diagnostic tests exist, few are P OC tests, and many are not cost-effective. The use of antibodies in these tests has limitations, prompting the exploration of aptamers as potential alternatives. Various proteins from the Ebola virus (EBOV) proteome, including EBOV nucleoprotein (NP), are considered viable targets for diagnostic assays. A previous study identified three aptamers (Apt1. Apt2 and Apt3) with high affinity for EBOV NP using systemic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment (SELEX). This study aimed to employ in silico methods, such as Phyre2, RNAfold, RNAComposer, HADDOCK and GROMACS, to model the structures of EBOV NP and the aptamers, and to investigate their binding. The in silico analysis revealed successful binding of all the three aptamers to EBOV NP, with a suggested ranking of Apt1 > Apt2 > Apt3 based on binding affinity. Microscale thermophoresis (MST) analysis confirmed the binding, providing dissociation constants of 25 ± 2.84, 56 ± 2.76 and 140 ±3.69 nM for Apt1, Apt2 and Apt3, respectively. The study shows that the findings of the in silico analysis was in agreement with the MST analysis. Inclusion of these in silico approaches in diagnostic assay development can expedite the selection of candidate aptamers, potentially overcoming challenges associated with aptamer application in diagnostics.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells have established themselves as an effective treatment for refractory or relapsed large B cell lymphoma (LBCL). Recently, the sDmax, which corresponds to the distance separating the two farthest lesions standardized by the patient's body surface area, has appeared as a prognostic factor in LBCL. This study aimed to identify [18F]FDG-PET biomarkers associated with prognosis and predictive of adverse events in patients treated with CAR T cells. METHODS: Patients were retrospectively included from two different university hospitals. They were being treated with CAR T cells for LBCL and underwent [18F]FDG-PET just before CAR T cell infusion. Lesions were segmented semi-automatically with a threshold of 41% of the maximal uptake. In addition to clinico-biological features, sDmax, total metabolic tumor volume (TMTV), SUVmax, and uptake intensity of healthy lymphoid organs and liver were collected. Progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method. The occurrence of adverse events, such as cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS), was reported. RESULTS: Fifty-six patients were included. The median follow-up was 9.7 months. Multivariate analysis showed that TMTV (cut-off of 36 mL) was an independent prognostic factor for PFS (p < 0.001) and that sDmax (cut-off of 0.15 m-1) was an independent prognostic factor for OS (p = 0.008). Concerning the occurrence of adverse events, a C-reactive protein level > 35 mg/L (p = 0.006) and a liver SUVmean > 2.5 (p = 0.027) before CAR T cells were associated with grade 2 to 4 CRS and a spleen SUVmean > 1.9 with grade 2 to 4 ICANS. CONCLUSION: TMTV and sDmax had independent prognostic values, respectively, on PFS and OS. Regarding adverse events, the mean liver and spleen uptakes were associated with the occurrence of grade 2 to 4 CRS and ICANS, respectively. Integrating these biomarkers into the clinical workflow could be useful for early adaptation of patients management.

The purpose of this study is to examine the longitudinal impact of depressive symptoms on physical activity (PA) levels, sedentary behavior, and screen time among first-generation, Mexican-heritage youth. Mexican-heritage families were recruited by promotoras de salud from colonias in Hidalgo County, Texas. Participants (n = 200 youth, 116 families in final sample) completed at-home, interviewer-administered surveys once during the summer (June-July) and once during the fall (August-December). Youth PA and sedentary behaviors were assessed using a validated 7-day recall instrument. The validated Center for Epidemiology Studies-Depression Child scale was used to assess depression symptoms. Linear mixed-effects models were used to analyze the relationships of PA and sedentary behavior with depressive symptoms. Results showed that those depression symptoms were significantly associated with decreased number of self-reported minutes of sitting and screen time over time in the full sample and among male youth. Depression symptoms also significantly decreased the number of self-reported active and moderate to vigorous PA minutes over time among male youth. Researchers can build on our findings by identifying the mechanisms driving the relationships between depression and PA/sedentary behavior. Public health-programing efforts should intentionally consider the impact that depressive symptoms have on PA.

INTRODUCTION: PET/CT is regularly used to investigate inflammatory syndrome of unknown origin (IUO), but hypermetabolisms found are not always consistent with the final diagnosis. The objective of the study was to assess the cost attributed to the diagnostic work-up for these false positives. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We conducted an ancillary study on a previous retrospective cohort from the internal medicine department at Amiens university hospital in patients who had a PET/CT scan between October 2004 and April 2017. Patients were included if PET/CT had been prescribed to investigate IUO. Among the 763 PET/CT performed, 144 met the inclusion criteria and a false-positive rate of 17.4% (n=25) was reported. RESULTS: Among these 25 patients, 21 underwent further investigations. The most frequently found hypermetabolic territories were digestive (n=12, mean SUVmax 8 [±4.33]) and osteoarticular (n=11, mean SUVmax 4.33 [±1.15]). The total cost of the 13 prescribed consultations was €390, the total cost of the 40 additional tests was €4,476 (mainly digestive endoscopies and radiological tests) and the total cost of medical transport was €572. The total cost of the 35 days of hospitalization specifically required to investigate these false positives was €22,952. In 23.8% (n=5), these investigations led to the incidental discovery of tumor lesions. CONCLUSION: The economic impact of false-positive PET/CT results does not appear to be negligible and merits a genuine prospective medico-economic study.

As both public health and public libraries continue to evolve, there are opportunities for collaboration focused on building policies, systems, and environments that support communities making healthy choices easy choices. Given the health disparities related to physical inactivity, such as diabetes and heart disease in rural America, public libraries within rural communities are emerging as important settings for health promotion and disease prevention. This study sought to better understand how rural libraries promote physical activity opportunities on Facebook. Based on a content analysis of Facebook posts of a random sample of 118 libraries made during the Summer of 2022, 47 of the 118 had at least one post related to physical activity and 42 had multiple posts. The most frequent offering was events or classes; libraries also supported physical activity by lending equipment and making changes to the built environment. This study provides evidence that some rural libraries are offering physical activity opportunities through community health partnerships, particularly for youth and families. Considering this evidence, public health professionals are encouraged to collaborate with local libraries to promote physical activity and advance rural health equity. Researchers are invited to continue to develop the evidence base around promoting physical activity with rural libraries.

ABSTRACT

Dynamical response of water exposed to x-rays is of utmost importance in a wealth of science areas. We exposed isolated water isotopologues to short x-ray pulses from a free-electron laser and detected momenta of all produced ions in coincidence. By combining experimental results and theoretical modeling, we identify significant structural dynamics with characteristic isotope effects in H2O2+, D2O2+, and HDO2+, such as asymmetric bond elongation and bond-angle opening, leading to two-body or three-body fragmentation on a timescale of a few femtoseconds. A method to disentangle the sequences of events taking place upon the consecutive absorption of two x-ray photons is described. The obtained deep look into structural properties and dynamics of dissociating water isotopologues provides essential insights into the underlying mechanisms.

ABSTRACT

Inactivity and leg disorders negatively impact broiler welfare. Enrichment designed to increase barn complexity may encourage physical exercise. The study aim was to implement a second-generation laser enrichment device, previously shown to increase broiler activity, for extended periods of time and to measure behavior and tibia quality. A total of 1,360 Ross 708 broilers in 40 pens of 34 were assigned to laser enrichment or control (no laser enrichment) for 49 d. Seventy focal birds were randomly selected on d 0 for individual behavior analysis. Laser-enriched birds were exposed to 6-min laser periods 4 times daily. A 3-min novel object test was performed on all pens and tonic immobility was induced on 1 bird/pen on wk 1 and 6. Focal bird time budget and walking distance and pen-wide laser-following behavior and movement were obtained during laser periods d 0 to 8 and 1 d/wk through wk 7. Right tibias were collected from focal birds on d 49 for dual energy x-ray absorptiometry and bone breaking analysis. Time spent active during laser periods was increased on d 3, 6, and 8 and wk 2 to 3 in laser-enriched vs. control focal birds (P = 0.04). Time at the feeder was increased in laser-enriched focal birds on d 0, 3 to 4, and 8 and wk 2 and 4 (P < 0.01). Distance walked during laser periods was increased in laser-enriched focal birds on d 1, 3 to 5, 8, and wk 2 compared to the control (P < 0.01). Pen-wide movement was increased on d 0, 2, 4 to 8, and wk 1 to 5 and 7 in laser-enriched vs. control birds (P < 0.01). More laser-enriched broilers were within 25 cm of the novel object at 1 min 30 s than the control (P = 0.03), and latency to approach the novel object was reduced in both treatments at wk 6 compared to wk 1 (P < 0.01). Tonic immobility duration was increased by 123 s on wk 6 compared to wk 1, regardless of treatment (P < 0.01). Daily laser enrichment for extended periods increased bird activity without inducing fearfulness or altering tibia measures.

ABSTRACT

The woody breast (WB) myopathy is an unintended outcome of fast broiler chicken growth and high breast muscle yields. Myodegeneration and fibrosis in the living tissue are results of hypoxia and oxidative stress driven by lack of blood supply to muscle fibers. The study aim was to titrate a vasodilator ingredient, inositol-stabilized arginine silicate (ASI), as a feed additive to improve blood flow and ultimately, breast meat quality. A total of 1,260 male Ross 708 broilers were assigned to: 1) a control basal diet, or the control diet plus increasing ASI: 2) 0.025% ASI, 3) 0.05% ASI, 4) 0.10% ASI, or 5) 0.15% ASI. At d 14, 28, 42, and 49, growth performance was measured on all broilers and serum from 12 broilers/diet was analyzed for creatine kinase and myoglobin presence. On d 42 and 49, 12 broilers/diet were measured for breast width, then left breast fillets were excised, weighed, palpated for WB severity, and visually scored for degree of white striping (WS). At 1 d postmortem, 12 raw fillets/treatment underwent compression force analysis, and at 2d postmortem, the same fillets were analyzed for water-holding capacity. mRNA was isolated from 6 right breasts/diet at both d 42 and 49 for qPCR quantification of myogenic gene expression. Birds fed the lowest dose of 0.025% ASI had a 5-point/3.25% feed conversion ratio reduction compared to birds fed 0.10% ASI over wk 4 to 6 and reduced serum myoglobin at 6-wk of age compared to the control. Breasts from birds fed 0.025% ASI received 42% greater normal WB scores at d 42 compared to control fillets. At d 49, breasts from broilers fed 0.10 and 0.15% ASI received 33% normal WB scores. At d 49, 0.025% AS-fed broiler breasts showed no severe WS. Increased myogenin expression was observed in 0.05 and 0.10% ASI breast samples on d 42 and myoblast determination protein-1 expression was upregulated in breasts from birds fed 0.10% ASI on d 49 compared to the control. Therefore, a dietary inclusion of 0.025, 0.10, or 0.15% ASI was beneficial in reducing WB and WS severity and promoting muscle growth factor gene expression at age of harvest without diminishing bird growth or breast muscle yields.

ABSTRACT

Genetic selection for breast yields and fewer days to market has inadvertent effects on broiler meat quality. Woody breast (WB) and white striping (WS) are pectoralis major myopathies prevalent in commercial broilers. Effects of voluntary exercise on these disorders, specifically, are unknown. A second-generation laser enrichment device shown to induce activity in Ross 308 and 708 birds was implemented using 1,360 Ross 708 broilers randomly assigned to laser enrichment or control for 49 d. Laser-enriched birds were exposed to 6-min laser periods 4 times daily. Seventy focal birds were gait and contact dermatitis scored weekly. Blood was collected wk 5 to 7 from 56 broilers for serum corticosterone, myoglobin, and troponin. Seventy broilers were sampled for breast muscle width, fillet dimensions, and WB and WS at wk 6 and 7. One and 2-day postmortem, fillet compression force and water-holding capacity were measured. Serum corticosterone was reduced by up to 21% in laser-enriched birds wk 5 to 7 (P < 0.01). Serum myoglobin was increased in laser-enriched broilers by 5% on wk 5 (P < 0.01) but increased in control birds wk 6 to 7 by up to 13% (P < 0.01). Serum troponin was reduced in laser-enriched broilers by 9% at wk 5 (P < 0.01). Laser exposure increased breast width and fillet weight at d 42 by 1.08 cm (P < 0.05) and 30 g (P < 0.05). At d 49, fillet height was increased 0.42 cm in laser-enriched birds (P < 0.05). Laser enrichment reduced severe WS incidence at d 42 by 24% (P < 0.05) and on d 49 by 15% (P < 0.10). Severe WB score was numerically reduced by 11% in laser enrichment on d 42 and 18% on d 49 (P > 0.05). Water-holding capacity was improved in laser-enriched breasts (P < 0.01) and expression of myostatin and insulin-like growth factor 2 were increased on d 49 (P ≤ 0.01. Laser enrichment reduced markers of stress and muscle damage while improving breast muscle quality and is therefore a potential effective enrichment for commercial broilers.
