ABSTRACT

Donkey croaker, Pennahia anea (Bloch, 1793) is a commercially important croaker in the Indo-Pacific region. In this study, we sequenced and analyzed the mitogenome of P. anea. The nearly complete mitochondrial genome of P. anea is 15,694 bp in size. It contained 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 2 rRNA genes, and 22 tRNA genes. The sequence had the A-T content of 55.4% and GC content of 44.6%. All 13 PCGs used ATG codon for initiation, while TAA codon was the most common for termination. Phylogenetic analysis demonstrated that P. anea is located within the genus Pennahia. This study provides additional data for the understanding of the phylogeny of the family Sciaenidae.

ABSTRACT

Doriprismatica atromarginata is a common nudibranch in the tropical and sub-tropical Indo-Pacific region. In this study, the complete mitogenome of D. atromarginata from Vietnam was recorded for the first time. The circular mitogenome had a size of 14,421 bp and consisted of 37 genes (13 protein-coding genes, two ribosomal RNA genes, and 22 tRNA genes). Phylogenetic tree based on amino acid sequences of coding genes demonstrated that D. atromarginata has sister group relationship with the genus Chromodoris.

ABSTRACT

The complete mitochondrial genome is sequenced and analyzed from a xanthid crab Etisus anaglyptus, which is the first complete mitochondrial genome for the genus. The mitochondrial genome length of E. anaglyptus is 16,435 bp and it is composed of 13 protein coding genes, two ribosomal RNA genes, and 22 tRNA genes. The structure and gene orientation of the mitochondrial genome is identical with the other brachyuran records. Furthermore, phylogenetic relationships of the infraorder Brachyura evaluated by mitochondrial protein coding genes. The phylogenetic study showed that E. anaglyptus is positioned in the superfamily Xanthoidea and the closest species to E. anaglyptus is Leptodius sanguineus.

ABSTRACT

The two complete mitochondrial genomes of endangered form of the Sevan trout Salmo ischchan aestivalis are published in this paper. The mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) is 16,677 base pairs (bp) in length and contained 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, and 22 tRNA genes. The overall base composition of the genome in descending order was 29.4% - C, 27.9% - A, 26.0% - T, 16.7% - G, without a significant AT bias of 53.9%.

ABSTRACT

In this study complete nucleotide sequences of the mitochondrial genome of fiddler crab Uca arcuata (De Haan, 1835) were determined and characterized. The length of mitochondrial genome for U. arcuata is 15,955 bp. This is the third and the longest record of complete mitochondrial genome from the family Ocypodidae. Furthermore, phylogenetic relationships were evaluated due to mitochondrial protein-coding genes. Phylogenetic tree suggests that U. arcuata belongs to the monophyletic family Ocypodidae and has sister group relationship with the genus Ocypode.
