ABSTRACT

N-nitrosamines are a type of nitrogen-containing organic pollutant with high carcinogenicity and mutagenicity. In the main drinking water sources of small and medium-sized towns in China, the contamination levels of N-nitrosamines remain unclear. In addition, there is still lack of research on the concentration of N-nitrosamines and their precursors in tributary rivers. In this study, eight N-nitrosamines and their formation potentials (FPs) were investigated in the Qingjiang River, which is a primary tributary of the Yangtze River. The sewage discharge sites were also monitored, and the environmental influencing factors, carcinogenic and ecological risks caused by N-nitrosamines, and their precursors were evaluated. The results showed that six N-nitrosamines were detected in water samples of the Qingjiang River, among which NDMA [(10 ±15) ng·L-1], NDEA [(9.3 ±9.3) ng·L-1], and NDBA [(14 ±7.8) ng·L-1] were the dominant N-nitrosamines, whereas seven N-nitrosamines were detected in chloraminated water samples, among which NDMA-FP [(46 ±21) ng·L-1], NDEA-FP [(26 ±8.3) ng·L-1], and NDBA-FP [(22 ±13) ng·L-1] were the dominant N-nitrosamine FPs. The concentrations of N-nitrosamines in the middle reaches of the Qingjiang River were higher than those in the upper and lower reaches. Furthermore, the concentrations of N-nitrosamines in the sample sites of sewage discharge and tributaries were significantly higher than those in other sampling sites. The monitoring results at the direct sewage discharge points indicated that the main source of N-nitrosamines in river water was the sewage carrying N-nitrosamines and their precursors. In addition, the concentrations of the three dominant N-nitrosamines including NDMA, NDBA, and NDEA were positively correlated with each other, mainly because of their similar sewage sources. The average carcinogenic risk to residents due to N-nitrosamine in drinking water sources was 2.4×10-5, indicating a potential carcinogenic risk. Moreover, due to the high concentrations of N-nitrosamine formation potentials in the Qingjiang River, the carcinogenic risk of drinking water may be even higher. The ecological risk assessment showed that the ecological risk quotient values of N-nitrosamines in the Qingjiang River watershed were lower than 0.002, which was negligible.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study is to identify risk factors associated with acute complicated appendicitis (CA) in children aged three years or younger, providing a theoretical foundation for the management and treatment of acute appendicitis (AA). METHODS: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 135 pediatric patients with AA, admitted to the Department of General Surgery at Anhui Children's Hospital between December 2020 and December 2023, who underwent successful surgical treatment. Based on the intraoperative and postoperative pathological findings, patients were categorized into two groups: complicated appendicitis (CA) (n = 97 cases) and uncomplicated appendicitis (UA) (n = 38 cases). Clinical data including gender, age, weight, disease duration, preoperative white blood cell count (WCC), neutrophil granulocyte (NEUT) count, C-reactive protein (CRP) levels, total bilirubin (TBil) levels, procalcitonin (PCT) levels, calprotectin (Cal) levels, preoperative ultrasound results indicating the presence or absence of fecaliths, maximum appendix diameter, and pediatric appendicitis sore (PAS) were collected and analyzed. Comparative analysis was performed to investigate the differences between the groups and identify risk factors of CA. RESULTS: The CA group exhibited significantly higher values in disease duration, CRP levels, PCT, Cal, presence of appendiceal fecaliths, maximum appendix diameter, and PAS compared to the UA group (P < 0.05). Multivariate analysis identified CRP levels, maximum appendix diameter, and PAS as independent risk factors for CA. Specifically, differences in CRP level (OR = 1.045, 95% CI:1.024 ~ 1.067, P < 0.001), PAS (OR = 1.768, 95% CI:1.086 ~ 2.879, P = 0.022), and maximum appendix diameter (OR = 1.860, 95% CI:1.085 ~ 3.191, P = 0.024) were significant. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve values were 0.6776 for the PAS, 0.7663 for CRP, and 0.5604 for the maximum appendix diameter. CONCLUSION: CRP levels, PAS, and maximum appendix diameter are independent risk factors for CA in children under three years of age. These parameters are valuable for the early diagnosis of CA.

ABSTRACT

Background: Post-viral olfactory dysfunction (PVOD) is the common symptoms of long COVID, lacking of effective treatments. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is claimed to be effective in treating olfactory dysfunction, but the evidence has not yet been critically appraised. We conducted a systematic review to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of TCM for PVOD. Methods: We searched eight databases to identified clinical controlled studies about TCM for PVOD. The Cochrane risk of bias tools and GRADE were used to evaluate the quality of evidence. Risk ratio (RR), mean differences (MD), and 95 % confidence interval (CI), were used for effect estimation and RevMan 5.4.1 was used for data analysis. Results: Six randomized controlled trials (RCTs) (545 participants), two non-randomized controlled trials (non-RCTs) (112 participants), and one retrospective cohort study (30 participants) were included. The overall quality of included studies was low. Acupuncture (n = 8) and acupoint injection (n = 3) were the mainly used TCM therapies. Five RCTs showed a better effect in TCM group. Four trials used acupuncture, and three trials used acupoint injection. The results of two non-RCTs and one cohort study were not statistically significant. Two trials reported mild to moderate adverse events (pain and brief syncope caused by acupuncture or acupoint injection). Conclusions: Limited evidence focus on acupuncture and acupoint injection for PVOD and suggests that acupuncture and acupoint injection may be effective in improving PVOD. More well-designed trials should focus on acupuncture to confirm the benefit. Protocol registration: The protocol of this review was registered at PROSPERO: CRD42022366776.

ABSTRACT

AIM: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between serum indicators and high-throughput drug screening (HDS) results, aiming to achieve specific therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). METHODS: This study recruited patients with HCC who underwent surgical resection at the Hepatobiliary Surgery Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from December 2019 to December 2021. HCC tissues were obtained from patients during surgery and subjected to in vitro cell culture, and then HDS testing was performed on the cultured tissue samples. We used Spearman's correlation analysis to examine the relationships between drug sensitivity results for anti-hepatocellular carcinoma drugs, other antitumor drugs, and serological indicators, the Neutrophil Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR), Platelet Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR), Systemic Immune Inflammatory Index (SII), Systemic Inflammatory Response Index (SIRI), Prognostic Nutritional Index (PNI), and Lymphocyte Monocyte Ratio (LMR). A significant correlation was considered when P<0.05 and |r|>0.40. Furthermore, linear regression analysis was conducted to elucidate the relationship between serological indicators and drug susceptibility, with significant results indicated by P<0.05 and R²≥0.50. RESULTS: In this study, 82 patients with HCC who had undergone hepatectomy and completed in vitro cell culture and HDS testing were evaluated. Using Spearman's correlation with a significance threshold of P<0.05 and |r|>0.40, we identified significant associations between serological indicators and specific drug regimens: NLR correlated with 5-Fluorouracil, 5- Fluorouracil+Calcium folinate (FOLFOX4), and Capecitabine + Cisplatin (XP); PLR with FOLFOX4; SII with XP, FOLFOX4, Doxorubicin + Oxaliplatin (ADM+L-OHP); and SIRI with XP and FOLFOX4. No correlations were found between PNI or LMR and any drug inhibition rates. A comprehensive evaluation using linear regression analysis-which included variables such as sex, age, hepatitis B virus and liver cirrhosis status, size and number of lesions, alphafetoprotein, total bilirubin, albumin, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, and prothrombin time, alongside NLR, PLR, SII, and SIRI was conducted in relation to drug regimens. This analysis revealed that NLR, SII, and SIRI are significant predictors of FOLFOX4 inhibition rate, while NLR predicts the inhibition rate of XP effectively. However, no significant links were established between molecular targeted drugs, other antitumor drugs, and serological indicators. CONCLUSIONS: NLR, SII, and SIRI were correlated with FOLFOX4, and the higher the values of NLR, SII, and SIRI, the higher the in vitro inhibition of FOLFOX. Also, NLR was correlated with XP, and the higher the value of NLR, the higher the in vitro inhibition of XP.

ABSTRACT

Fibroblast growth factor 5 (FGF5) plays key roles in promoting the transition from the anagen to catagen during the hair follicle cycle. The sheep serves as an excellent model for studying hair growth and is frequently utilized in various research processes related to human skin diseases. We used the CRISPR/Cas9 system to generate four FGF5-edited Dorper sheep and only low levels of FGF5 were detected in the edited sheep. The density of fine wool in GE sheep was markedly increased, and the proportion of fine wool with a diameter of 14.4-20.0 µm was significantly higher. The proliferation signal in the skin of gene-edited (GE) sheep was stronger than in wild-type (WT) sheep. FGF5 editing decreased cortisol concentration in the skin, further activated the activity of antioxidant enzymes such as Glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), and regulated the expression of Wnt signaling pathways containing Wnt agonists (Rspondins, Rspos) and antagonists (Notum) in hair regeneration. We suggest that FGF5 not only mediates the activation of antioxidant pathways by cortisol, which constitutes a highly coordinated microenvironment in hair follicle cells, but also influences key signals of the Wnt pathway to regulate secondary hair follicle (SHF) development. Overall, our findings here demonstrate that FGF5 plays a significant role in regulating SHF growth in sheep and potentially serves as a molecular marker of fine wool growth in sheep breeding.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) is recognized as the most precise imaging technology for assessing liver fibrosis in individuals with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). We aimed to investigate the clinical factors and pathological characteristics that may impact LSM in MASLD patients. METHODS: This cross-sectional study recruited 124 patients who concurrently performed MRE, MRI-PDFF, and biopsy-proven MASLD. Linear regression models, Spearman's correlation, and subgroup analysis were employed to identify the variables affecting LSM. RESULTS: The AUROC (95 % CI) of MRE for diagnosing fibrosis stage ≥ 1, 2, 3, and 4 was 0.80 (0.70-0.90), 0.76 (0.66-0.85), 0.92 (0.86-0.99), and 0.99 (0.99-1.00), with corresponding cutoffs of 2.56, 2.88, 3.35, and 4.76 kPa, respectively. Multivariate analyses revealed that AST was the only independent clinical variable significantly correlated with LSM. Furthermore, LSM exhibited a notable association with the grade of lobular inflammation and hepatocellular ballooning. Subgroup analysis showed that when AST ≥ 2 ULN or inflammation grade ≥ 2, LSM of patients with early fibrosis stages showed a slight but significant increase. CONCLUSION: MRE demonstrates significant diagnostic accuracy in predicting liver fibrosis stages for MASLD patients, especially for advanced liver fibrosis and cirrhosis. However, elevated AST and the severity of liver inflammation may impact its accuracy in staging early liver fibrosis.

ABSTRACT

Energy-efficient separation of C2H6/C2H4 is a great challenge, for which adsorptive separation is very promising. C2H6-selective adsorption has big implications, while the design of C2H6-sorbents with ideal adsorption capability, particularly with the C2H6/C2H4-selectivity exceeded 2.0, is still challenging. Instead of the current strategies such as chemical modification or pore space modulation, we propose a new methodology for the design of C2H6-sorbents. With a Cu-TCPP [TCPP = 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin] framework dispersed onto a microporous carbon and a hierarchical-pore carbon, two composite sorbents are fabricated. The composite sorbents exhibit enhanced C2H6-selective adsorption capabilities with visible light, particularly the composite sorbent based on the hierarchical-pore carbon, whose C2H6 and C2H4 adsorption capacities (0 °C, 1 bar) are targetedly increased by 27% and only 1.8% with visible light, and therefore, an C2H6-selectivity (C2H6/C2H4 = 10/90, v/v) of 4.8 can be realized. With visible light, the adsorption force of the C2H6 molecule can be asymmetrically enhanced by the excitation enriched electron density over the adsorption sites formed via the close interaction between the Cu-TCPP and the carbon layer, whereas that of the C2H4 molecule is symmetrically altered and the forces cancelled each other out. This strategy may open up a new route for energy-efficient adsorptive separation of C2H6/C2H4 with light.

ABSTRACT

Infection with human papillomavirus (HPV) typically leads to cervical cancer, skin related cancers and many other tumors. HPV is mainly responsible for evading immune tumor monitoring in HPV related cancers. Toll like receptors (TLRs) are particular pattern recognition molecules. When the body is facing immune danger, it can lead to innate and direct adaptive immunity. TLR plays an important role in initiating antiviral immune responses. HPV can affect the expression level of TLR and interfere with TLR related signaling pathways, resulting in sustained viral infection and even carcinogenesis. This paper introduces the HPV virus and HPV related cancers. We discussed the present comprehension of TLR, its expression and signaling, as well as its role in HPV infection. We also provided a detailed introduction to immunotherapy methods for HPV related diseases based on TLR agonists. This will provide insights into methods that support the therapeutic method of HPV related conditions with TLR agonists.

BACKGROUND AND AIM: To identify individuals with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) or "at-risk" MASH among patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), three noninvasive models are available with satisfactory efficiency, which include magnetic resonance imaging [MRI]- AST (MAST), FibroScan-AST (FAST score), and magnetic resonance elastography [MRE] plus FIB-4 (MEFIB). We aimed to evaluate the most accurate approach for diagnosing MASH or "at-risk" MASH. METHODS: We included 108 biopsy-proven MASLD patients who underwent simultaneous assessment of MRE, MRI proton density fat fraction (MRI-PDFF), and FibroScan scans. Compared with the histological diagnosis, we analyzed the AUC of each model and assessed the accuracy. RESULTS: Our study cohort consisted of 64.8% of MASH and 25.9% of "at-risk" MASH. When analyzing the performance of each model for the diagnostic accuracy of MASH, we found that the AUC [95% CI] of MAST was comparable to FAST (0.803 [0.719-0.886] vs 0.799 [0.707-0.891], P = 0.930) and better than MEFIB (0.671 [0.571-0.772], P = 0.005). Similar findings were observed in the "at-risk" MASH patients. The AUCs [95% CI] for MAST, FAST, and MEFIB were 0.810 [0.719-0.900], 0.782 [0.689-0.874], and 0.729 [0.619-0.838], respectively. The models of MAST and FAST had comparable AUCs (P = 0.347), which were statistically significantly higher than that of MEFIB (P = 0.041). Additionally, the cutoffs for diagnosis of MASH were lower than "at-risk" MASH. CONCLUSION: MAST and FAST performed better than MEFIB in diagnosing "at-risk" MASH and MASH using lower cutoff values. Our findings provided evidence for selecting the most accurate noninvasive model to identify patients with MASH or at-risk MASH.

Conventional chemical extraction methods may lead to overestimate or underestimate bioaccessibility due to their inability to provide realistic kinetic information regarding PAHs in soils. In this study, we propose the use of magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) technique for assessing the bioaccessibility of PAHs in the soil-earthworm system. Firstly, a novel polydopamine-coated magnetic core-shell microspheres (Fe3O4-C16@PDA) was developed by a one-pot sol-gel and self-polymerization method. The PDA coatings not only enhance the hydrophilicity of material surfaces but also exhibit excellent biocompatibility. The maximum adsorption capacity of Fe3O4-C16@PDA for 16 PAHs was 52.72 mg g-1, indicating that the proposed material fulfills the assessment requirements for highly contaminated soil. To compare the measurement of PAHs and their uptake by earthworms (Eisenia fetida), experiments were conducted using four different soils with varying properties. The desorption kinetics data obtained from these experiments demonstrated that the capability of the MSPE in accurately predicting the bioavailable portions of PAHs. After a 28-day exposure, the best predictor of bioavailable PAHs in earthworms was MSPE method exhibited the highest correlation coefficient (R2 > 0.90), and its slopes in the four soils were 0.972, 0.961, 1.012, and 0.962, respectively, all close to 1. These results demonstrate that the MSPE method successfully mimics the conditions encountered in soil-earthworm systems and effectively assess bioaccessibility of PAHs in soils.

ABSTRACT

Hard carbon has been widely used in anode of lithium/sodium ion battery, electrode of supercapacitor, and carbon molecular sieve for CO2 capture and hydrogen storage. In this study the lignin derived hard carbon products are investigated, and the conclusions are abstracted as follows. (1) The lignin derived hard carbon products consist of microcrystal units of sp2 graphene fragments, jointed by sp3 carbon atoms and forming sp2-sp3 hybrid hard carbon family. (2) From the lignin precursors to the sp2-sp3 hybrid hard carbon products, most carbon atoms retain their original electron configurations (sp2 or sp3) and keep their composition in lignin. (3) The architectures of lignin-derived hard carbon materials are closely dependent on the forms of their lignin precursors, and could be preformed by different pretreatment techniques. (4) The carbonization of lignin precursors follows the mechanism "carbonization in situ and recombination nearby". (5) Due to the high carbon ratio and abundant active functional groups in lignin, new activation techniques could be developed for control of pore size and pore volume. In general lignin is an excellent raw material for sp2-sp3 hybrid hard carbon products, a green and sustainable alternative resource for phenolic resin, and industrial production for lignin derived hard carbon products would be feasible.

Background: The magnitude of potential benefits that hypothermic oxygenated perfusion (HOPE) may provide for liver transplantation (LT) patients compared to static cold storage (SCS) remains uncertain. In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we aimed to investigate the therapeutic effect that HOPE can offer LT recipients relative to SCS by synthesizing available evidence. Methods: A literature search was conducted in Embase, Medline, Web of Science, and the Cochrane database up to 1 June, 2023. The included studies were pooled for meta-analysis to synthesize their findings. Subgroup analysis was performed to investigate potential differences between HOPE and SCS for specific subgroups. Results: A total of 11 studies comprising 1765 patients were included. Compared with SCS, HOPE was associated with a significant reduction in the incidence of early allograft dysfunction (EAD) (OR: 0.36, 95% CI: 0.26-0.50), as well as a noteworthy decrease in graft loss rate within one year (OR: 0.57, 95% CI: 0.33-0.97) and a lower occurrence of Clavien-Dindo grade IIIa or higher complications (OR: 0.62, 95% CI: 0.43-0.89). Subgroup analysis revealed that HOPE significantly reduced the one-year mortality rate, any biliary complications incidence, and acute rejection of transplanted liver rate in patients who received organs from donation after cardiac death (DCD). Conclusions: HOPE has demonstrated efficacy in reducing the incidence of EAD after LT and shows some potential in diminishing postoperative complications such as biliary complications and acute rejection. This ultimately leads to improved patient prognosis, particularly among those receiving DCD grafts.

ABSTRACT

The high expression or mutation of SHP2 can induce cancer, so targeting SHP2 has become a new strategy for cancer treatment. In this study, we used the previously reported SHP2 allosteric inhibitor IACS-13909 as a lead drug for structural derivation and modification, and synthesized three SHP2 inhibitors. Among them, 1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyrazine derivative 4b was a highly selective SHP2 allosteric inhibitor, with an IC50 value of 3.2 nM, and its inhibitory activity was 17.75 times than that of the positive control IACS-13909. The cell proliferation experiment detected that compound 4b would markedly inhibit the proliferation of various cancer cells. Interestingly, compound 4b was highly sensitive to KRASG12C-mutant non-small cell lung cancer NCI-H358 cells, with an IC50 value of 0.58 µM and its antiproliferative activity was 4.79 times than that of IACS-13909. Furthermore, the combination therapy of compound 4b and KRASG12C inhibitor sotorasib would play a strong synergistic effect against NCI-H358 cells. The western blot experiment detected that compound 4b markedly downregulated the phosphorylation levels of ERK and AKT in NCI-H358 cells. Molecular docking study predicted that compound 4b bound to the allosteric site of SHP2 and formed H-bond interactions with key residues Thr108, Glu110, Arg111, and Phe113. ABSTRACT

Solid base catalysts are widely used in the chemical industry owing to their advantages of environmental friendliness and easy separation. However, their application is limited by basic site aggregation and poor stability. In this study, we report the preparation of magnesium (Mg) single-atom catalysts with high activity and stability by a sublimation-trapping strategy. The Mg net was sublimated as Mg vapor at 620 °C, subsequently transported through argon, and finally trapped on the defects of nitrogen-doped carbon derived from metal-organic framework ZIF-8, producing Mg1/NC. Because of the atomically dispersed Mg sites, the obtained Mg1/NC exhibits high catalytic activity and stability for Knoevenagel condensation of benzaldehyde with malononitrile, which is a typical base-catalyzed reaction. The Mg1/NC catalyst achieves a high efficiency with a turnover frequency of 49.6 h-1, which is much better than that of the traditional counterpart MgO/NC (7.7 h-1). In particular, the activity of Mg1/NC shows no decrease after five catalytic cycles, while that of MgO/NC declines due to the instability of basic sites.

ABSTRACT

Two new triterpenoids (1-2), along with six known analogues (3-8) were obtained from the dried whole plant of Leptopus clarkei. Compound 1 is a 3,4-seco-lupane-type triterpenoid, and compound 2 is a phenylpropanoid-conjugated pentacyclic triterpenoid possessing trans-p-coumaroyl unit attached to oleanane-type skeleton. This is the first report on chemical investigation of the L. clarkei, and the triterpenoid derivatives were found in this plant for the first time. The structures of the new compounds were unequivocally elucidated by HRESIMS and 1D/2D NMR data. Additionally, the isolated compounds were evaluated for theircytotoxicities against four cancer cell lines including HepG2, MCF-7, A549 and HeLa. Notably, compound 2 exhibited the most significant antiproliferative activity with IC50 less than 20 µM for four cancer lines.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND:In clinical practice,Cibotium barometz and Epimedium have shown significant efficacy in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis,but the complex active ingredients contained in the two have an unclear mechanism of action at the molecular level for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. OBJECTIVE:Based on network pharmacology and molecular docking technology,to establish a collagen-induced arthritis model and to verify the potential targets and pathways of Cibotium barometz and Epimedium in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis,providing reliable experimental evidence for the use of clinical formulas with Cibotium barometz and Epimedium as the main components. METHODS:Utilizing traditional Chinese medicine research platforms,traditional Chinese medicine encyclopedias,and databases of traditional Chinese medicine and chemical components from the Shanghai Institute of Organic,effective ingredients were retrieved and identified.3D molecular formulas were obtained from the PubChem platform and target predictions were made using PharmMapper and SwissTargetPrediction.Disease targets for rheumatoid arthritis were obtained from gene databases such as DrugBank,GeneCards,and OMIM.The intersections of targets and Cibotium barometz and Epimedium were plotted using VENNY 2.1 after calibration with the Uniport database.A protein-protein interaction network graph was constructed using the STRING platform.Gene Ontology function analysis and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analysis were performed using the Metascape platform for data visualization.A four-layered network model of traditional Chinese medicine,ingredients,targets,diseases,and pathways was constructed using Cytoscape 3.9.0.The main effective ingredients were docked with core targets using AutoDock-Vina software to explore the best binding targets.A type II collagen+adjuvant-induced arthritis rat model was established,and the effects of Cibotium barometz and Epimedium on relevant pathway targets and inflammatory cell factors were observed after 21 days of intervention. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:A total of 28 active ingredients from Cibotium barometz and Epimedium were selected,yielding 288 intersection targets for rheumatoid arthritis.The main ingredients included isobavachalcone,cibotium,and epimedium.The main targets included protein kinase 1 for serine/threonine(AKT1),tumor necrosis factor,and vascular endothelial growth factor A.Gene ontology analysis yielded 2 232 biological processes,mainly related to serine protein phosphorylation,positive regulation of serine/threonine protein kinase,and reactive oxygen metabolism.Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analysis yielded 202 pathways,mainly involving the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway and epidermal growth factor receptor signaling pathway,which may exert therapeutic effects by regulating synovial cell apoptosis and proliferation and suppressing inflammatory factors.Molecular docking results showed the strongest binding activity and stable structure of Cibotium barometz and Epimedium with AKT1 and estrogen receptor transcription factor 1,which was closely related to apoptosis and proliferation and inflammatory signaling pathways such as PI3K/AKT.Cibotium barometz and Epimedium reduced the expression of interleukin-1β,interleukin-6,and tumor necrosis factor-α in the serum of collagen-induced arthritis rat models.Cibotium barometz and Epimedium reduced the expression of p-PI3K,p-AKT,and p-FOXO1 in the synovium of collagen-induced arthritis rat models.The results indicate that the combination of Cibotium barometz and Epimedium may exert therapeutic effects by inhibiting the proliferation of synovial cells and suppressing the expression of inflammatory factors via the PI3K/AKT/FOXO1 signaling pathway.This may be closely related to the occurrence of inflammation and bone destruction in rheumatoid arthritis,and provides a reference for the rational use and development of new drugs in clinical practice.

Objective To sort out the main subjects of China's medical insurance fund supervision and their change process in different periods,to provide a basis for deepening the reform of the medical insurance fund regulation sys-tem.Methods Social network analysis method is used to quantify the national-level policies and tap the core subjects of China's medical insurance fund supervision.Results A total of 63 policies were included,and 195 regulatory sub-ject codes were obtained.The main regulatory subjects during the embryonic period of medical insurance fund super-vision were mainly insurance operators and relied on medical insurance fund supervision organizations.The main regu-latory subjects during the exploration period were mainly the insurance administration and the insurance agency and began to pay attention to social participation.The main regulatory subjects in the development period were mainly the Healthcare Security Administration and its handling agencies,with the collaboration of relevant departments.The participation of social subjects is obvious,and third-party professional institutions become important subjects.Con-clusion The supervisory subjects of China's medical insurance fund have embodied the logic of change from decen-tralization of responsibilities to centralized and unified functions,from multi-regulation to integrated multi-sectoral linkage,and from government-led to the introduction of social and market forces.The participation of multiple sub-jects is the development trend of medical insurance fund supervision in the future,and the capacity of collaborative governance of medical insurance fund supervision should be continuously improved.

Digital supervision of the medical insurance fund is the process of using digital information technology to map real-world medical scenarios and activities into the digital world,in which the medical insurance fund is super-vised and managed.The objectives of digital supervision include not only ensuring the safe and rational use of the medical insurance fund,but also promoting the quality of medical services,safeguarding the public's rights and interests,ensuring the long-term sustainability of the medical insurance system,and promoting social equity and stability at multiple levels.Based on the theory of Public Value theory,it interprets and explores the model and critical path of digital supervision of China's medical insurance fund from the three dimensions of Public Value Proposition,Autho-rizing Environment,and Operational Capacity,which concludes that the key to digital supervision of medical insurance funds lies in the search for consistency and balance between the three of real-world value objectives.Digital regulation should be oriented towards public value creation and return to value rationality;strengthen institutional design and build a pluralistic governance pattern for digital regulation;and strengthen core capacity building to make up for the shortcomings of digital regulatory capacity.The public value of digital supervision should be created from three as-pects:concept optimization,support and guarantee,and capacity improvement.The public value of digital supervision should be created from three aspects:concept optimization,support and guarantee,and capacity improvement.

Objective To understand the public's willingness to participate in the supervision of medical insurance funds and their influencing factors,and to provide suggestions and references for creating a good atmosphere for the whole society to consciously pay attention to and maintain the safety of medical insurance funds.Methods Using a combination of non-proportional and convenience sampling with stratified sampling,a total of 1661 samples were collected from 28 provinces across China,and a chi-square test and binary logistic regression were used to investi-gate the factors affecting the public's willingness to participate in the supervision of medical insurance funds.Results There are 1661 valid questionnaires returned and a total of 457(27.51%)members of the public are willing to participate in supervision.The educational level in the ability dimension was the hindering factor of the public's supervision willingness(P<0.001).Evaluation of the nature of medical insurance fraud and evaluation of the overall harm caused by medical insurance fraud in the dimension of effort,whether family members have medical insurance workers and whether they have the experience of obtaining medical assistance in the dimension of opportunity was the promoting factor of public supervised willingness(P<0.05).Conclusion The public's willingness to participate in the supervision of medical insurance funds needs to be improved.It can focus on enhancing the public's willingness to supervise medical insurance funds from the dimensions of ability,effort and opportunity,deepen the public's aware-ness of medical insurance fraud,and continuously improve the public's enthusiasm to crack down on medical insurance fraud,and reduce and eliminate insurance fraud.

ABSTRACT

Microcrystal cellulose (MCC) is a green and sustainable resource that widely exists in various lignocellulose species in percentage 10% to 30%. The fine powder of MCC is often discarded in industrial productions that use lignocellulose as feedstock. The crystal structure of two types of MCC (sugarcane pith and bamboo pith) and their derived carbon materials are studied, and the key findings are summarized as follows. (1) In the MCC refined from sugarcane pith, there are large amount of cellulose 2D crystal, which can be converted to valuable 2D graphene crystal. (2) In the MCC refined from bamboo pith there are large amount of cluster microcrystal cellulose, which can be converted to soft and elastic graphene microcrystal (GMC). (3) The 2D cellulose in MCC of sugarcane pith has large surface area and is easily to be degraded to sugars by acid-base hydrolysis reaction, which can be carbonized to Fullerenes-like carbon spheres. (4) The crystal structures of MCC derived carbon materials are strongly impacted by the crystal structures of MCC, and the carbonization reaction of MCC follows "in situ carbonization" and "nearby recombination" mechanism. In general, the results from this study may open a new way for value-added applications of microcrystal cellulose.
