The figure of the Nursing Case Manager can be employed in many areas of pediatrics, in particular in chronic situations that require not only a specific care plan while the patient is admitted but also a training program to teach patients how to manage their illness at home. In this context the activities of the Case Manager Nurse in the Division of Pediatric Diabetology are described.

The students group has focused theme attention on some ordinary situations in the hospital context performed by actorsstudents and they are analysed psychological mechanism, particularly as far as concerned the communication and the approach nurse-patient-patient relative: the behaviour mistakes perceived by oneself and somebody else, are become elements for discussions and new information for to acquire relationship competences.

The purpose of this issue the importance of the active hearing, participating information and the alliance with the client in the helping relation. The relation between nurse and client has an essential objective cannot be deferred neither delegated because the nursing essence is to restore self government to the client. The nurse can better the approach with the un-defended client, to face prejudicial factors and to apply strategies to develop the coping.
