ABSTRACT

The propensity of manufacturers to produce goods at affordable cost, with more accuracy, and at a faster rate force them to search for novel solutions, such as deploying robots in place of people in a sector that can accommodate their needs. Welding is one of the most crucial processes in the automotive industry. This process is time-consuming, subject to error, and demands skilled professionals. The robotic application can improve this area of production and quality. Other industries, such as painting and material handling, can also profit from the use of robots. This work describes the fuzzy DC linear servo controller, which functions as a robotic arm actuator. Robots have been widely employed in most productive sectors in recent years, including assembly plates, welding, tasks at higher temperatures, etc. Controlling a robot accurately is a difficult undertaking as a robot is very nonlinear with many joints that are often organized and unstructured. To carry out the effective task, an effective PID control based on fuzzy logic has been employed together with the method of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) approach for the estimate of the parameter. This offline technique determines the lowest number of optimal robotic arm control parameters. To verify the controller design with computer simulation, a comparative assessment of controllers is given by means of a fuzzy surveillance controller with PSO which improves the parameter gain to provide a rapid climb, a smaller overflow, no steady condition error signal, and effective torque control of the robot arm.

ABSTRACT

The effects of flaxseed, sardines, pearl millet, and holy basil (Oscimum sanctum) leaf meal on Single Comb White Leghorn (Forsgate strain) layer hen production traits, fatty acid composition of egg yolks, and egg quality characteristics were studied. Layer hens were allocated to 1 of 6 dietary treatments from 27 to 32 wk of age: control (treatment 1), control + 1 g of basil leaf meal (BLM) (treatment 2), control + 2 g of BLM (treatment 3), designer egg layer mash (DELM; treatment 4), DELM + 1 g of BLM (treatment 5), DELM + 2 g of BLM (treatment 6). No significant differences were found in egg production between dietary treatments, indicating that neither the designer diet nor the BLM had an adverse effect on egg production. The high energy level in the designer diet, because of the flaxseed oil and sardines, significantly reduced feed intake compared with the control diet. The egg weight was significantly higher in birds fed the designer diet compared with the egg weight in the control diet. The flaxseed oil and sardine oil, which are rich in n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, contributed to significantly increased n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid levels in the egg yolks, with a proportionate reduction in the level of palmitic acid. Other fatty acids showed only minor variations. Flaxseed oil increased the level of α-linolenic acid, whereas fish oil increased the eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid levels. The BLM at low levels of inclusion (1 and 2 g/kg) also contributed significantly to elevating the yolk n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid levels, especially C18:3. Holy basil leaf meal is a good feed supplement for increasing the yolk α-linolenic acid level by reducing the yolk saturated fatty acid levels proportionately.

ABSTRACT

Urolithiasis is one of the third most common afflictions found in humans. The efficacy of the two Siddha drugs, Aerva lanata and Vediuppu chunnam as antilithic agents using a urolithic rat model were tested in this study. Hyperoxaluria was induced in rats using 0.75% ethylene glycol in drinking water. Aerva lanata(3.0 mg kg(-1)body weight) and Vediuppu chunnam (3.5 mg kg(-1)body weight) were given orally for 28 days. Urinary risk factors of urolithiasis were monitored at the end of 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th days. Urinary volume was increased in hyperoxaluric as well as drug-treated rats. Increased urinary excretion of calcium, oxalate, uric acid, phosphorus and protein in hyperoxaluric rats was brought down significantly by the administration of A. lanata or Vediuppu chunnam. Decreased magnesium excretion in hyperoxaluric rats was normalized by drug treatment. The drug increases the urine volume, thereby reducing the solubility product with respect to calcium oxalate and other crystallizing salts such as uric acid, which may induce epitaxial deposition of calcium oxalate. Drug alone treated rats did not show any adverse effects. Combination therapy was found to be more effective and this indigenous medicine can be used successfully as an antilithic agent.
