ABSTRACT

The Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau (YGP) is an important ecological region in southwestern China with frequent and severe droughts affecting its vegetation and ecosystem. Many studies have used vegetation indices to monitor drought effects on vegetation across the entire ecosystem. However, the drought response of different vegetation types in the YGP is unclear. This study used solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF) and normalized difference vegetation Index (NDVI) data to monitor different vegetation types. The results showed that cropland was most sensitive and woody savanna was most resistant to drought. SIF had a stronger correlation with drought than NDVI, indicating its potential for vegetation monitoring.

ABSTRACT

Background: Previous studies have reported that olfactory identification deficits may be the earliest clinical features of Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the association between odor identification and hippocampal atrophy remains unclear. Objective: This meta-analysis quantified the correlation between odor identification test scores and hippocampal volume in AD. Method: A search of the PUBMED, EMBASE, and WEB OF SCIENCE databases was conducted from January 2003 to June 2020 on studies with reported correlation coefficients between olfactory identification score and hippocampal volume in patients with amnestic AD or mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The quality of the studies was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa quality assessment scale (NOS). Pooled r-values were combined and computed in R studio. Results: Seven of 627 original studies on AD/MCI using an olfactory identification test (n = 902) were included. A positive correlation was found between hippocampal volume and olfactory test scores (r = 0.3392, 95% CI: 0.2335-0.4370). Moderator analysis showed that AD and MCI patients were more profoundly correlated than normal controls (AD: r = 0.3959, 95% CI: 0.2605-0.5160; MCI: r = 0.3691, 95% CI: 0.1841-0.5288; NC: r = 0.1305, 95% CI: -0.0447-0.2980). Age difference and patient type were the main sources of heterogeneity in this analysis. Conclusion: The correlation appears to be more predominant in the cognitive disorder group (including MCI and AD) than in the non-cognitive disorder group. Age is an independent factor that affects the severity of the correlation during disease progression. The mildness of the correlation suggests that olfactory tests may be more accurate when combined with other non-invasive examinations for early detection. ABSTRACT

Objective:To establish a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fingerprint of branches of Juglans mandshurica and to evaluate the quality of the samples from different producing areas and in different harvest periods. Method:Chromatographic separation was performed on an Agilent Poroshell 120 SB-C18 column (2.1 mm×100 mm, 2.7 μm) for gradient elution with mobile phase of 0.2% formic acid solution (A)-0.2% formic acid acetonitrile solution (B) (0-5 min, 5%-10%B; 5-25 min, 10%-16%B; 25-40 min, 16%-22%B; 40-45 min, 22%-45%B; 45-50 min, 45%-65%B; 50-52 min, 65%-100%B; 52-55 min, 100%B) at a flow rate of 0.3 mL·min-1. The column temperature was 30 ℃ and the detection wavelength was 270 nm. The quality of branches of Juylans mandshurica was evaluated by similarity evaluation, cluster analysis, principal component analysis and partial least squares-discriminant analysis. The chemical constituents of the samples were identified by HPLC coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (HPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS). The mass spectrometry was conducted in negative ion mode with electrospray ionization(ESI). Data were acquired over a range of m/z 100-1 700 for MS and m/z 50-1 700 for MS/MS. Result:A total of 19 common peaks were confirmed in 40 batches of samples, and the similarity ranged from 0.430 to 0.995, of which the similarity of samples collected in spring and winter seasons (April, May and December) was greater than 0.90, while the similarity of most samples collected in summer (July to September) was low. Multivariate statistical analysis showed that the samples were divided into two groups according to the harvest time, but there was no obvious classification rule for the samples from different producing areas. The contents of most constituents in the samples collected in spring and winter were higher than those collected in summer. The result illustrated that different harvest periods had great influence on the quality of branches of J. mandshurica. Compared with the samples collected in summer, the quality of samples collected in spring and winter was better. A total of 22 peaks were proved to be the main constituents that contributed to the difference between samples collected in different seasons. A total of 83 chemical components were identified by HPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS, including 49 tannins, 7 organic acids, 14 naphthalene derivatives, 1 flavonoid, 6 anthracene derivatives, 2 lignans, 3 diarylheptanoids and 1 saccharide. Totally 13 common peaks were identified. Of the peaks that contributed to discriminate samples collected in different season, 19 peaks were identified and most of them were tannins. Conclusion:The established HPLC fingerprint can provide useful information for the quality evaluation of branches of J. mandshurica. Tannin is the main constituents in the samples. Harvest period has great influence on the quality of branches of J. mandshurica.

ABSTRACT

Uveal melanoma (UM) is one of most common ocular cancers and is extremely malignant; so far there is no effective treatment. Moreover, the survival period is only 2-7 months after metastasis. It has been proven that more than 83% of uveal melanomas harbor mutations in G protein subunit α q (GNAQ) or G protein subunit α 11 (GNA11), among which 95% are a Q209P/L single-site mutation. Q209P/L mutations lead to dysfunction of guanine triphosphatase (GTPase) in the G protein and result in constitutive activation of downstream pathways including mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (AKT), Ras homologue (Rho)/ Rho-associated kinase (Rock)/Yes-associated protein (YAP) and others. Therefore, targeting GNAQ/GNA11 mutations are potential strategies for UM treatment. This review will focus on roles of G protein mutations in UM progression, and the potential therapeutic effects of GNAQ/GNA11 inhibitors, and will provide insights into basic and clinical research on UM treatment.

ABSTRACT

To analyze the efficacy and safety of Tripterygium Glycosides Tablets combined with desloratadine as well as desloratadine alone in the treatment of chronic urticaria by Meta-analysis,in order to provide evidence-based reference for clinical treatment.PubMed,CBM,Wan Fang,VIP database and CNKI database were retrieved to collect randomized controlled trials( RCT) about Tripterygium Glycosides Tablets combined with desloratadine( test group) as well as desloratadine alone( control group) in the treatment of chronic urticaria. Meta-analysis was performed by using Rev Man 5. 3 software after data extraction and quality evaluation( a total of 15 RCTs were included, involving 1 411 patients). Meta-analysis showed that the total effective rate( RR = 1. 28,95%CI[1. 22,1. 35],P<0. 000 01) and the quality of life improvement rate( RR = 1. 49,95% CI[1. 33,1. 66],P< 0. 000 01) of the test group were better than those of the control group, and the recurrence rate( RR = 0. 29,95%CI[0. 21,0. 40],P<0. 000 01) was significantly lower than that of the control group, with statistically significant differences; there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions( RR = 1. 02,95%CI[0. 68,1. 53],P = 0. 92) compared with the control group. Based on the included RCTs,the efficacy of Tripterygium Glycosides Tablets combined with desloratadine in the treatment of chronic urticaria were superior to those of desloratadine alone, with similarity in safety. However, due to the low quality of RCTs and the lack of large-scale multi-center studies, the results shall not be further verified by clinical trials.

ABSTRACT

To unravel the genetic mechanisms of disease and physiological traits, it requires comprehensive sequencing analysis of large sample size in Chinese populations. Here, we report the primary results of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Precision Medicine Initiative (CASPMI) project launched by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, including the de novo assembly of a northern Han reference genome (NH1.0) and whole genome analyses of 597 healthy people coming from most areas in China. Given the two existing reference genomes for Han Chinese (YH and HX1) were both from the south, we constructed NH1.0, a new reference genome from a northern individual, by combining the sequencing strategies of PacBio, 10× Genomics, and Bionano mapping. Using this integrated approach, we obtained an N50 scaffold size of 46.63 Mb for the NH1.0 genome and performed a comparative genome analysis of NH1.0 with YH and HX1. In order to generate a genomic variation map of Chinese populations, we performed the whole-genome sequencing of 597 participants and identified 24.85 million (M) single nucleotide variants (SNVs), 3.85 M small indels, and 106,382 structural variations. In the association analysis with collected phenotypes, we found that the T allele of rs1549293 in KAT8 significantly correlated with the waist circumference in northern Han males. Moreover, significant genetic diversity in MTHFR, TCN2, FADS1, and FADS2, which associate with circulating folate, vitamin B12, or lipid metabolism, was observed between northerners and southerners. Especially, for the homocysteine-increasing allele of rs1801133 (MTHFR 677T), we hypothesize that there exists a "comfort" zone for a high frequency of 677T between latitudes of 35-45 degree North. Taken together, our results provide a high-quality northern Han reference genome and novel population-specific data sets of genetic variants for use in the personalized and precision medicine.

ABSTRACT

We report an ultrasensitive immunoassay for tau protein-a key marker of Alzheimer's disease. This sensing platform relies on graphene oxide (GO) surfaces conjugated with anti-human tau antibody to provide quantitative binding sites for the tau protein. The GO quenches standard fluorescein isothiocyanate labelled tau (tau-FITC) when tau protein and tau-FITC are both present and compete for the binding sites. This change in fluorescence signal can be used to quantitate tau protein. In contrast with traditional enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), our method does not require enzyme-linked secondary antibodies for protein recognition nor does it require an enzyme substrate for optical signal generation. This requires fewer reagents and has less systematic error than the antigen-antibody recognition steps in ELISA. Our method has a tau protein detection limit of 0.14 pmol ml-1 in buffer. This approach could be developed into a promising biosensor for the detection of tau protein and may be useful in the clinical diagnosis of tau-induced neurodegeneration syndromes.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Long-term complications of cesarean section include placenta praevia, placenta accreta, cesarean scar pregnancy and uterine rupture. These life-threatening complications in pregnant women maybe result from the defects of endometrium and uterine smooth muscle as well as poorly formed decidua in the scar of cesarean section. Mesenchymal stem cells have the function of repairing tissue injuries, and the amount of cells homing to the site of injury may affect the effect of tissue repair. OBJECTIVE: To explore the distribution and homing of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from male rats into rat models of cesarean section. METHODS: Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells isolated from male rats in vitro were cultured and identified. Female Wistar rats were randomized into two groups: cesarean section group and control group. Rats in the cesarean section group were given intravenous administration of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from male rats via the tail vein on day 21 after cesarean section, and non-operative rats in the control groups were given the same amount of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from male rats after natural delivery. Rats in the two groups were sacrificed on days 7 and 28 after cell injection. The distribution of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from male rats in tissues (including heart, lungs, livers, kidneys, and uterine scar) was detected by measurement of the SRY mRNA level using SPY-PCR. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: In the cesarean section group, the SRY gene was most abundant in the lung, followed by the liver and the kidney on day 7 after injection, although the distribution of SRY gene in the heart and uterine scar was low; on day 28 after injection, the levels of SRY gene in the lung, liver and kidney decreased (P < 0.05), but had no significant changes in the heart and uterine scar (P > 0.05). In the control group, the distribution of SRY gene was similar to that in the cesarean section group on both days 7 and 28 after injection, and the levels of SRY gene in the heart and uterus were low. These findings reveal that allogeneic bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells implanted mainly distribute in tissues with abundant blood flow, including lungs, livers and kidneys. And the cell number decreases gradually over time. Since the amount of implanted cells in the heart and uterus is very low, the change with time is not obvious. Cesarean section injury has no impact on the distribution of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in pregnant rats and there is of course no increase in the homing and colonization of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in a cesarean scar.

ABSTRACT

A series of bio-based thermosetting polyurethanes (Bio-PUs) were synthesized by the crosslinking reaction of polylactide and its copolymers diols with hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) trimer. The obtained Bio-PUs were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), universal tensile testing machine and cytotoxicity test. Results indicate that the PLA copolymer (P(LA-co-CL)) diols reduced the glass transition temperature (Tg) of Bio-PUs and improved their thermal stability, compared with PLA diols. The Bio-PUs synthesized from P (LA-co-CL) diols exhibit better mechanical performance and shape memory properties. Especially, Young modulus and elongation at break of the obtained Bio-PUs were 277.7 MPa and 230% respectively; the shape recovery time of the obtained Bio-PUs at body temperature was only 93 s. Furthermore, alamar blue assay results showed that the obtained Bio-PUs had no cell toxicity.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: To investigate the role of placental advanced oxidation protein products (AOPPs) in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia (PE). METHODS: Expression of AOPPs in human placental tissues collected from women with or without PE was examined by immunohistochemistry. The effect of AOPPs on in vitro trophoblast cell function was also examined. Specifically, we exposed trophoblastic cells to AOPPs and measured the production of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) as well as their invasion capacity using an in vitro Transwell invasion assay. We also investigated the effect of AOPPs on trophoblastic apoptosis and whether this effect could be mediated through interference in NADPH oxidase signaling. RESULTS: AOPPs were expressed in placental tissues, and were significantly increased in placentas from women with PE versus normotensive controls. AOPPs also affected trophoblast cell function in vitro by significantly reducing ß-HCG production and inhibiting trophoblas cell invasive capacity. Exposure to AOPPs significantly increased apoptosis in trophoblastic cells, which was mediated through the NADPH oxidase pathway. CONCLUSIONS: AOPPs expression is increased in PE placentas and exposure to AOPPs adversely affects trophoblast cell function, which may contribute to the shallow trophoblast invasion that characterizes this disorder. Additional studies are needed to investigate further to determine whether AOPPs can be used as a biomarker for PE.

ABSTRACT

Objective To construct a recombinant lentiviral expression vector containing NIS and EGFP gene, and to explore the feasibility of NIS gene for monitoring the bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) migration to the intracranial glioma. Methods The NIS and EGFP gene fragments were subcloned into lentiviral vector pLVX-puro,then packaged and amplified in HEK293T cells to obtain recombinant lentivirus pLVX-CMV-NIS-EGFP.pLVX-CMV-0-EGFP was constructed as control.BMSCs were isolated, cultured, and transfected by lentivirus. The antibiotic-resistant transfected BMSCs (BMSCs-NIS-EGFP and BMSCs-EGFP) were selected. The expression of NIS gene was examined by Western blot.Functional NIS activity was confirmed by the uptake of 125I and the inhibition effect of NaClO4.The nude mice intracranial glioma models were established.MicroSPECT was performed at 24 h post BMSCs-NIS-EGFP injection via the tail vein. Results pLVX-CMV-NIS-EGFP and pLVX-CMV-0-EGFP were successfully constructed and packaged.BMSCs were successfully isolated and cultured.Stable cell lines BMSCs-NIS-EGFP and BMSCs-EGFP were constructed after lentivirus transfection and puromycin selection. The expression of NIS gene was detected by Western blot in BMSCs-NIS-EGFP,but not in BMSCs-EGFP.BMSCs-NIS-EGFP showed significantly more uptake of 125I (nearly 10 times than the uptake in BMSCs-EGFP) and the uptake could be significantly inhibited by NaClO4.The nude mice intracranial glioma models were successfully established and the BMSCs-NIS-EGFP in glioma foci could be visualized by microSPECT imaging at 24 h post injection. Conclusions A recombinant lentivirus containing NIS gene could be successfully constructed for monitoring BMSCs migration towards intracranial glioma. It might provide evidence on the research of BMSCs and NIS gene mediated therapy for glioma.

ABSTRACT

Objective To construct a recombinant lentivirus vector containing the human NIS gene and HIF-1α with the myosin light chain-2v(MLC-2v) as a promoter and to investigate the specific expression and feasibility of NIS as a reporter gene in cardiomyocytes. Methods The target gene HIF-1α and NIS were subcloned into the lentivirus (Lv)-elongation factor (EF)1-HIF-1α-internal ribosome entry site (IRES)-NIS and Lv-MLC-HIF-1α-IRES-NIS lentivirus vectors. The recombinated vectors were transfected into Hela cells by lipofectamine 2000.The expression of HIF-1α and NIS in the transfected Hela cells was detected by indirect immunofluorescence and Western blot. The H9C2 cells were exposed to different multiplicities of infection (MOI; 5,10,20,40) with packaged virus particles. The infection efficiency was detected by Western blot.MOI 20 was used for H9C2,NIH-3T3 and L6 cell lines and the specificity of the MLC-2v promoter was detected by the count of NIS protein in the 3 different cell lines with Western blot. The function and features of NIS protein were evaluated by dynamic iodine uptake and NaClO4 iodine uptake inhibition tests in vitro.Two-sample t test was used to analyze the data. Results The two recombinant lentivirus vectors were constructed successfully. The HIF-1α protein was expressed in the cytoplasm and the NIS protein was expressed on the cell membrane in Hela cells. The grey levels of NIS and HIF-1α proteins in the positive control were 69.8 and 71.9,respectively,which were 109.4 and 92.7 after being prompted by EF1,and 141.9 and 132.4 by MLC-2v.The expression of these proteins was much higher by EF1 promoter than that by MLC-2v promoter. The optimal MOI for the Lv-MLC-HIF-1α-IRES-NIS virus to infect H9C2 cells was 20.With the MOI of 20,the grey levels of NIS protein promoted by EF1 were 23.4,29.8 and 28.6 for H9C2,NIH-3T3 and L6 cells infected with Lv-EF1-HIF-1α-IRES-NIS virus, respectively. The expression of NIS protein promoted by MLC-2v was much higher in H9C2 cells than the other two cell lines. The grey level of NIS protein was 157.9 in H9C2 cells,178.8 in L6 cells and 217.3 in NIH-3T3 cells. The NIS protein expressed in infected H9C2 cells showed high radioiodine uptake. The peak of iodine uptake was 4 287.2 counts · min-1 at 40 min which was 16.85 times of the control group (254.4 counts · min-1) (t=5.34,P< 0.01).The inhibition rate of iodine uptake was up to 85.5% (3 666.4/4 287.2,t=21.3,P<0.01) by NaClO4.Conclusions MLC-2v promoter allows specific expression of the external gene HIF-1α and NIS in myocardium. The cardiomyocytes transfected with NIS gene acquires the function of iodine uptake. Therefore,NIS may have a potential to be the reporter gene to monitor the external gene therapy in ischemic cardiomyopathy.

ABSTRACT

Objective To construct a recombinant baculovirus dual expression vector containing NIS gene under the control of human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) promoter and plasminogen kringle 5 (K5) gene driven by early growth response 1 (Egr1) promoter, and to explore the feasibility of targeting both tumor and tumor vessel with combination of radioiodide and antiangiogenic therapy. Methods The hTERT-NIS gene and Egr1-K5 gene fragments were subcloned into baculovirus vector, then packaged and amplified in the sf9 cells to obtain recombinant baculovirus Bac-hTERT-NIS-Egr1-K5.Bac-CMV-NISEgr1-K5,Bac-hTERT-0-Egr1-K5 and Bac-hTERT-NIS-Egr1-0 were constructed as controls. The expression of NIS and K5 genes in human cervix cancers cells (HeLa) was examined by Western blot and quantitative real-time PCR.Functional NIS activity was confirmed by the uptake of 125I,the inhibition of NaClO4 and the cytotoxicity of 131I.The apoptotic effect of 131I-inducedK5 on human umbilical veins endothelial cells (HUVEC)was analyzed by an apoptosis assay using flow cytometry.Statistical analysis was performed using the analysis of variance. Results The recombinant baculovirus Bac-hTERT-NIS-Egr1-K5 was successfully constructed. The NIS gene under the control of hTERT promoter was specifically expressed in HeLa cells. The baculovirusinfected HeLa cells showed a significant increase of 125I uptake, which was significantly inhibited by NaClO4(F199.296,P<0.05).Furthermore,a notable decreased cell survival rate (38.3%) was found after 131I treatment. The expression of K5 gene induced by 131I was elevated in a dose or time dependent manner and resulted in obvious inhibition with cell survival rate of 30.8% in baculovirus-infected HUVEC cells, which was significantly higher than that in the control groups (11.2% and 10.9% respectively,F=19.926,45.409;both P<0.05).Conclusions A recombinant baculovirus dual expression vector containing the NIS and K5 genes has been successfully constructed. This study suggests the feasibility of a synergistic strategy of NISbased raidoiodide therapy and K5-based antiangiogenic therapy in vitro, and make it possible to perform in vivo study in the near future.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the prevalence and major risk factors of peripartum thromboembolic disease in different regions of Guangdong province. METHODS: Data from 169 218 pregnant women in different regions of Guangdong province from January 2005 to June 2010 were analyzed retrospectively. The prevalence and epidemiological characteristics of thromboembolic disease during pregnancy or puerperium were investigated. RESULTS: Of the studied population, (1) 201 cases (1.3‰) suffered from thromboembolic disease during pregnancy or puerperium including 128 cases of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), 68 cases of cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) and 5 pulmonary embolism, the prevalence rates were 0.8‰, 0.4‰, and 0.02‰ respectively. (2) Risk factors in different regions showed that, in the Pearl River Delta area, the major risk factors for DVT would include previous or family history of thrombosis, pregnancy complications, with medically involved diseases, prolonged bed rest and pregnancy weight gain>15 kg etc. While in eastern, western, northern parts of Guangdong, the major risk factors for DVT would include pregnancy weight gain>15 kg, prolonged bed rest, preeclampsia, cesarean section and complications during pregnancy. In Pearl River Delta region, the major risk factors for CVT would include eclampsia, preeclampsia, pregnancy complications, prolonged bed rest>3 days, past history or family history of thrombosis. While eclampsia, preeclampsia, advanced age or younger age, pregnancy weight gain>15 kg, complications during pregnancy were the major risk factors for CVT in the eastern, western or northern parts of Guangdong. CONCLUSION: Prevalence and major risk factors of peripartum thromboembolic disease in different regions of Guangdong were different. It was crucial to take effective measures in pregnant women with different epidemiological characteristics and risk factors to prevent and reduce the incidence of peripartum thromboembolic disease.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To identify the serum protein markers for the gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) complicated by pregnancy-induced hypertensive (PIH) syndrome to provide a molecular biological basis for the screening, prevention and therapy of the related diseases. METHODS: Serum samples were collected from the patients with GDM, PIH syndrome, and GDM complicated by PIH syndrome. IgG and albumins were removed from the samples before SDS -PAGE. The protein bands showing significant differences among the 3 samples were collected, digested and identified with mass spectrometry, and the function of the identified proteins was analyzed. RESULTS: Three SDS-PAGE were performed in parallel to confirm the differentially expressed proteins. Mass spectrometry indicated that the proteins showing obvious differences among the 3 samples were haptoglobin, protein SMG8 and apoptosis-inducing factor-1. CONCLUSIONS: The protein markers identified in GDM complicated by PIH syndrome may be integrated into the proteomic database of gestational metabolic diseases. Identification of the associated protein markers may provide significant experimental data for the prevention, diagnosis and therapy of the related diseases.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the clinical efficiency of kid foot soft tissue defect with reverse flap with cutaneous branch of fibular artery combine with sural nerve nutritional vessel axial. Methods From Feb. 2006 to Feb. 2009, according to the position and size of the soft tissue defects, the sural nerve nutritional vessel flap combine with the cutaneous branch of the peroneal artery were desingned and obtained to repair the 5 cases soft tissue defects of the foot. The flap size ranged from 8 cm × 7 cm to 18 cm × 10 cm. The vessel pedicle of cutaneous branches ranged from 1.7 cm to 3.0 cm. The distribution of the vessel pedicle of cutaneous branches ranged from 4.5 cm to 8.0 cm on the lateral malleolus. Results All flaps survived completely in 6 cases. The outline and function were satisfactory during 6-18 months follow-up. Among of 6 cases, the sural nerve were anastomosed with the acceptor sensory nerve in all cases. The skin sense were sat-isfactory after 1 year of operation and 2-point discrimination was 10-13 mm. Conclusion The blood supply of this flap is reliable without sacrifice of major arteries. Flap elevation is easy. It can reverse to a long dis-tance and can repair large skin defects. Especially this flap could have some sensory nerve. It is very useful in repairing kid foot large soft tissue defect.
