ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE: To analyze the prevalence and factors associated with the lifestyle profile of public basic education teachers in Minas Gerais during the COVID-19 pandemic. METHOD: Epidemiological websurvey carried out with public basic education teachers in Minas Gerais. Data collection took place from August to September2020 via digital form. Anthropometric, sociodemographic, work, and lifestyle characteristics were evaluated. Poisson Regression was used. RESULTS: 15,641 teachers participated and 31.1% had inadequate health habits. There was a higher prevalence among men (PR=1.38; 95%CI:1.31;1.45), older age (PR=1.20; 95%CI: 1.07;1.34), greater weekly workload (RP=1.10; 95%CI:1.03;1.17) and those dissatisfied with work (RP=1.21; 95%CI:1.15;1.27). As a protective factor, professors with longer teaching experience (RP=0.92; 95%CI:0.87;0.98) and those hired or appointed (PR=0.89; 95%CI:0.85) ;0.94). CONCLUSION: Lifestyle inadequacy was found among older male teachers, with longer working hours and job dissatisfaction.

In this study, we examined leisure activities among teachers during the COVID-19, assessing issues related to sociodemographic profile and working conditions. This is a cross-sectional websurvey, performed with teachers of public basic education of Minas Gerais. A digital form was used to collect data in 2020. Leisure practice in pandemic was the dependent variable. In the multiple analysis, Poisson regression was used. A total of 15,641 teachers participated in the study, of which 43% were not having leisure practices in pandemic. There was a higher prevalence of absence of leisure practice among women, among the elderly, brown and black-skinned teachers, contracted/designated teachers and those not satisfied with teaching work in pandemic. Thus, this research sought to discuss sociocultural topics, highlighting, that access to leisure practices lacks a social, human vision focused on the inequality.

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the incidence of depression and other mental disorders in the general population, influenced by various individual and contextual factors. Physical activity (PA) interventions offer a promising approach to mitigating the negative mental health effects of the pandemic. This study aims to analyze the association between PA and depressive symptoms. A total of 785 individuals aged 37.4 ± 13.2 years (72.5% female) were evaluated at two different time points: the first between 2018 and 2019, and the second during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Depressive symptoms, demographic, and socioeconomic data were assessed using the Beck Depression Inventory to estimate depressive symptoms. Frequency analysis and binary and multinomial regression were employed for data analysis. The prevalence of mild depressive symptoms increased from 23.1% before the pandemic to 35.1% during the pandemic. Our findings reveal that practicing PA before the pandemic was a protective factor (OR: 0.19; 95% CI: 0.13, 0.30; p < 0.001) against mild depressive symptoms. Additionally, individuals who continued to practice PA during the pandemic had a lower chance of presenting mild (OR: 0.21; 95% CI: 0.15, 0.30) and moderate/severe (OR: 0.15; 95% CI: 0.08, 0.27) symptoms. Furthermore, our study shows that PA, which was already a protective factor before the pandemic, remained protective during the pandemic, even for those with the highest levels of depression.

ABSTRACT
Aim: To verify changes in the frequency of oral hygiene among basic education teachers in Minas Gerais during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to gender. Methods: This is a web survey, epidemiological study. Data collection took place from August to September 2020 through digital form. The dependent variable was the frequency of oral hygiene during the pandemic, categorized as: remained the same, increased, and decreased. Multinomial Logistic Regression was performed. Results: In this study, 15,641 teachers participated, 81.9% of whom were women. Regarding the frequency of oral hygiene, 73.4% reported that it remained the same, 20.1% increased, and 6.5% decreased, with no significant difference between genders. The chances of a decrease in the frequency of oral hygiene were greater in women under 60 years of age, those without children, those who tested positive for COVID-19, those with a worsening health during the pandemic, those with an increased body weight during the pandemic, and those who were sad or depressed during the pandemic. Among men, the chances of reduction were greater among those who did not live with a spouse, those with a worsening health during the pandemic, those who were sad or depressed during the pandemic, and among smokers or ex-smokers. Conclusion: Although the prevalence of changes in the frequency of oral hygiene in the pandemic did not differ between men and women, the factors related to the increase and decrease in frequency were different for each sex.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate alcohol consumption among state public elementary school teachers before and during the COVID-19 pandemic and the factors associated with who increased their alcohol consumption during the pandemic. METHODS: Websurvey-type epidemiological survey, carried out with primary education teachers from public schools in Minas Gerais. A probabilistic sample with proportionality for state teachers was estimated. The collection took place from August to September 2020 via digital form and had the support of the State Department of Education. The dependent variable adopted was the increase in the consumption of alcoholic beverages by teachers during the pandemic. Poisson Regression was used, adopting a significance level of 5%. RESULTS: 15,641 teachers from 795 Minas Gerais municipalities participated in the study. Regarding the consumption of alcoholic beverages, before the pandemic 46.9% of teachers consumed at least once a week and during the pandemic 7.1% reported that they were drinking more than they used to. Higher consumption of alcoholic beverages was observed during the pandemic among men, with a lower age group, higher family income, those who had great difficulty to carry out school activities, those dissatisfied with work, those who started having sleep problems and in those where a family member or friend developed symptoms serious problems of COVID-19. CONCLUSIONS: The results showed that most participants maintained their consumption or decreased it during the pandemic. This increase was associated with sociodemographic and economic factors, working conditions during the pandemic, behaviors/life habits and health conditions.

No total, 21,3% eram insuficientemente ativos e 23,7% fisicamente inativos.
This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of insufficient levels of physical activity and associated factors be-tween adolescents. A cross-sectional study was performed in 2017/2018 with high school students from public schools in Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, Brazil. A self-completion the IPAQ-short form was used to evaluate physical activity levels, categorizing the adolescents in active, insufficiently active and physically inactive. The independent variables were sociodemographic profile, food consumption, alcohol/drug use, health conditions, and physical education classes. Multinomial Logistic Regression was used to calculate odds ratio (OR) and confidence intervals (CI) of 95%, correcting by the design effect. A total of 2,040 adolescents from 21 schools participated in the study. As for the practice of physical activity, 21.3% were insufficiently active and 23.7% were physically inactive. The chances to be insufficiently active were higher among girls (OR = 1.39; 95%CI: 1.01 1.91), whom rarely ate fruits (OR = 1.54; 95%CI: 1.00 2.37) who were doing anything about their body weight (OR = 1.78; 95%CI: 1.34 2.37) and with regular self-perception of health (OR = 1.75; 95%CI: 1.27 2. 42). There was a greater chance of being physically inactive among those with lower incomes (OR = 1.44; 95%CI: 1.09 1.92), whom rarely ate fruits (OR = 1.76; 95%CI: 1.22 2.55), with good self-perception of health (OR = 1.54; 95%CI: 1.15 2.07), and without interest about the physical activity classes (OR = 1.69; 95%CI: 1.02 2.81). This study shows that almost half of adolescents were insufficiently active, indicating the need to implement programs related to the promotion of physical activity in adolescence

ABSTRACT Objective To associate body image with sociodemographic profile, lifestyle, anthropometry and health conditions in adult women. Methods Prevalence study, conducted in a probabilistic cluster sample (n=35 Primary Education Schools) conducted in 2016 with 633 teachers. Sociodemographic characteristics were evaluated; morbidities, anthropometric variables; subjective health issues; lifestyle and self-reported morbidities. Results The prevalence of body image dissatisfaction was 48.7%. There was a greater chance of dissatisfaction among older women who have children, unsatisfactory lifestyle, are overweight, with poor health/poor self-perception of health, and the presence of depressive symptoms. Women who had a poor lifestyle had a four-fold greater chance of dissatisfaction with body appearance (Odds Ratio=4.193) than women who had a satisfactory lifestyle. Conclusion The results revealed that almost half of the adult women surveyed in this study reported dissatisfaction with their body image. This outcome indicates the need for interventions and program implementation related to body image dissatisfaction among women.
