ABSTRACT
Es un estudio retrospectivo realizado con pacientes hospitalizados con diagnóstico de Insuficiencia Cardiaca Congénita (ICC) en el Hospital Regional Simón Bolívar durante el año de 1987; se halló un 10 por ciento de intoxicados con digital. Sólo a un paciente le fueron tomados niveles séricos de la droga, y estos fueron reportados luego de haberse tomado una conducta médica. Luego de una revisión sobre la digital y especialmente sobre la clínica de intoxicación digitálica los autores concluyen: que la sospecha permanente, un exámen físico adecuado y la ayuda de escasos exámenes paraclínicos, son elementos suficientes para tomar una conducta adecuada, sin necesidad de recurrir a exámenes costosos para la población examinada, como es la determinación de los niveles séricos de digoxina. SUMMARY: In a retrospective study perfomed with hospitalized patients; with diagnosis of congestive heart faillure in HOSPITAL REGIONAL SIMON BOLIVAR during the year of 1987, it was found 10º/ of intoxicated people with digital. Drug serum levels were taken only in one patient and there were reported after having taken a medical behaviour. After revision on digital and especiallu on the clinic of digitalic intoxication, the authors conclude: that permanent suspicion, an adecuate physical examination and the aid of limited number of paraclinics exams, are enough to take an adequate behaviour with the need to resort expensives exams for the study population, as is the case for determination of serum levels of digoxine
