The authors retrospectively reviewed the ultrasonographic findings of 48 histologically confirmed testicular neoplasms in order to analyse the echomorphologic findings and identify any typical patterns. A wide spectrum of US features was observed for testicular tumors, corresponding to the different macromorphologic parenchymal textures of the various neoplasms. US was extremely useful for differentiating testicular tumors from non-neoplastic scrotal pathologies. US could neither distinguish the only benign lesion nor classify histologically malignant neoplasms. US was 100% accurate in the evaluation of testicular tumors, and allowed the identification of frequent typical patterns in some types of neoplasms.

Secondary neoplasms involving the alimentary tract are not common. This work is aimed at evaluating their characteristic roentgenological features, providing, when possible, the criteria for discriminating secondary from primary lesions. Forty-five patients with secondary neoplasms of the alimentary tract were examined by conventional radiology, ultrasonography and CT. Both CT and US are highly accurate in such cases, since these lesions are displayed directly. However, double-contrast gastrointestinal examination must be performed, because it indirectly demonstrates both intrinsic and extrinsic lesions, thus providing all elements for a correct local staging.

In a series of 92 patients' in hemodialysis the evolution of periarticular and vascular calcifications has been studied. A correlation exists between the incidence of arterial calcifications and the patients' age, while no direct correlation has been proved to exist with the duration of dialysis. In fact their annual average increase (8.4%) is similar to that of periarticular calcifications (12.2%).

The radiologic study of temporo-mandibular joints in patients undergoing long-term haemodialysis has led to documentation of osteodystrophic changes in 6 patients: 2 were asymptomatic and 4 had referred to pain. The roentgenologic picture of this unusual abnormally varies from a simple decrease of bone density to resorption of the condylar head.

Osteosclerosis in the phalanges is a frequent finding in sarcoidosis and its incidence appears higher then that of the osteolytic lesions. Of 19 patients with histological diagnosis of sarcoidosis areas of bone sclerosis in the phalanges were found in 6 cases (31, 5 percent).
