[Diagnosis and treatment outcome in patients with grade Ia neoplasms of the uterine cervix]. / Diagnostyka i wyniki leczenia chorych na raka szyjki macicy w stopniu Ia.

The material collected from 449 women with cervical cancer Ia was carefully studied (359 women with Ia1, and 90 with Ia2). All the methods and results of treatment were presented. 5-years survival after treatment was obtained in 93% of women.

[Ovarian gonadal tumor and reproduction in women]. / Nowotwory gonadalne jajnika a rozrodczosc u kobiet.

Seven young patients with ovarian gonadal tumor treated conservative operation are presented. The attention to clinical and pathological difficulties is drown. The treatment advantage these patients at Gynecologic Institute with pathological department is emphasized.

[Conservative treatment of two young women with cancer and precancerous lesions of the endometrium]. / Leczenie zachowawcze dwóch mlodych kobiet z rakiem i stanem predrakowym endometrium.

Two women with endometrial cancer and precancerous lesion treated with medroxyprogesterone are presented. In both patients outcome of neoplasm is obtained.

[Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in preinvasive disease of the cervix and cervical cancer in pregnancy]. / Postepowanie diagnostyzne i terapeutyczne w stanach przedrakowych i raku szyjki macicy u ciezarnych.

154 pregnant women with dysplasia and cervical carcinoma of the uterus treated in the Institute in years 1953-1990 underwent investigation. We notice that only 50 pathologies were diagnosed in I trimester of pregnancy and 85% constituted precancerous and early forms of carcinoma of the uterine cervix. Authors presented the model of management and care of pregnancy, labour and puerperium in these patients. Due to this procedure we obtained 90% compatibility of preliminary and final diagnosis.

Distribution of human papillomavirus 16 in the blood of women with uterine cervix carcinoma.

In the present study HPV 16 DNA was discovered in the cervical cancer tissue and in blood of women with cancer. In the blood of patients with advanced cancer the HPV appeared in granulocytes and was anchored to the lymphocytic membrane. It may be therefore concluded that the presence of HPV 16 DNA in the blood of women with cervical cancer reduced immunocompetence.

Variation of Se, Zn, Co, Fe and Rb distribution in rats after injection with selenium or sulfur compounds.

Contents of Se, Zn, Co, Fe and Rb in liver, kidney, heart, spleen, brain, pancreas and testicle of Wistar rats were determined 2 h after i.p. injection with selenodiglutathione, selenomethionine, selenocystine, selenocystamine, methionine, cystine and cystamine. Instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) was applied as the analytical method. It was found that Se was incorporated to all examined rat organs. High Se incorporation was observed after injection with selenomethionine and selenocystine. Variations in the Zn, Co, Fe and Rb contents were observed in all the investigated organs after the injections. These variations depended upon injected compounds.

The incorporation of Yb and Se into the brains of rats and their effect on the Zn level.

The concentrations of Yb, Se and Zn in the brains of rats were determined after the injection of ytterbium chloride and selenodiglutathione--single or together--by neutron activation analysis. Both Yb and Se were incorporated in all the investigated brain tissues and they also caused changes in the Zn concentration.

The incorporation of selenium and ytterbium into the eyes of mice.

The incorporation of Se and Yb into the eyes of mice has been studied. Selenodiglutathione, (GS)2Se, or ytterbium chloride, YbCl3, were injected intraperitoneally into mice: either alone, combined, or after various time intervals. Instrumental neutron activation analysis was applied as the analytical method for the determination of the levels of Se and Yb. The concentrations of both investigated elements were highest in the retinal tissue of the eye. YbCl3 influenced the distribution of Se in the eye.
