ABSTRACT

Microspheres are commonly used as embolic materials in vascular interventional operations. However, due to the limitation of materials, almost all microspheres cannot be detected by imaging equipment in vivo. The visualization of microspheres refers to the addition of various materials to the microspheres that enable the microspheres to be displayed on the images of imaging equipment. In order to optimize the embolization process and facilitate postoperative follow-up,a lot of visualized microspheres have been reported so far, such as X-ray visualized microspheres,MRI visualized microspheres, ultrasonic visualized microspheres, etc.Clinical experience has shown that these microspheres can provide true spatial distribution and real-time intraoperative feedback, which contributes to the optimization, personalization, and improvement of vascular embolization technology. This paper aims to make a comprehensive review about the recent advances in researches about the above mentioned visualized microspheres.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE) in patients with sepsis, analyze its risk factors and build a prediction model, which provides evidence for early clinical identification of SAE patients and improvement of clinical outcomes. Methods:A retrospective observational study was conducted. Sepsis patients admitted to the critical care medical center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from February 2022 to February 2023 were enrolled. According to whether SAE occurred, the patients were divided into sepsis group and SAE group. The 24 patients without sepsis in the same period were used as controls (non-sepsis group). Demographic data, relevant scores and laboratory test indicators at admission to intensive care unit (ICU), and prognostic indicators were collected. Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the risk factors for sepsis and SAE. Receiver operator characteristic curve (ROC curve) was drawn. The predictive value of each risk factor for sepsis and SAE.Results:A total of 130 patients with sepsis were included, of which 52 had SAE, and the incidence of SAE was 40.00%. There were significant differences in the length of ICU stay and total length of stay among all groups, while there were no significant differences in hospitalization cost and mechanical ventilation time. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that pulmonary infection [odds ratio ( OR) = 46.817, 95% confidence interval (95% CI) was 5.624-389.757, P = 0.000], acute physiology and chronic health evaluation Ⅱ (APACHEⅡ: OR = 1.184, 95% CI was 1.032-1.358, P = 0.016), sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA: OR = 9.717, 95% CI was 2.618-36.068, P = 0.001), Charson comorbidity index (CCI: OR = 4.836, 95% CI was 1.860-12.577, P = 0.001), hemoglobin (Hb: OR = 0.893, 95% CI was 0.826-0.966, P = 0.005), glutamyltranspeptidase ( OR = 1.026, 95% CI was 1.008-1.045, P = 0.006) were independent risk factors for sepsis in ICU patients. ABSTRACT

Major depressive disorder (MDD) has become an increasingly serious public health issue, characterized by high incidence and high disability rates. It often coexists with other mental health problems and physical diseases, with a significant negative impact on patients' quality of life. In clinical practice, MDD is considered a heterogeneous disease. The complexity of the pathological mechanisms and the variability in treatment responses lead to a lack of clear therapeutic targets, which complicates the treatment process. In recent years, with advancements in neuroscience, the crucial role of microglia in the pathogenesis of MDD has been revealed. As the main immune cells in the brain, microglia are not only involved in the regulation of neuroinflammation but also play important roles in neurogenesis and neuronal regulation in MDD. This article mainly discusses the role of microglia in the pathophysiological mechanisms of MDD, aiming to provide a theoretical basis for microglia as a potential target for the treatment of MDD.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the regulatory role of defferentially expressed LOC107987438 in the pathogenesis of depressive disorder and provide a theoretical basis for its clinical application in depressive disorder. Methods:Differential expression of LOC107987438 was verified by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)in peripheral blood monocular cells(PBMCs)of 60 patients with depressive disorder and 60 health controls. In addition, its diagnostic value was assessed by receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves. Based on the ceRNA mechanism of lncRNA, the miRDB database was applied to predict the target miRNAs of LOC107987438, and the miRNAs with target score ≥ 80 among them were screened out.The screened miRNAs were then used to predict their potential target mRNAs through four databases which were TargetScan 8.0, miRTarBase, mirDIP and miRPathDB. Moreover, the predicted target mRNAs were annotated for gene ontology(GO)function annotation and tokoyo encyclopedia of genes and genomes(KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis via ClusterProfiler 4.0.5 package of R 4.1.1. Finally, a protein-protein interaction network was constructed using the STRING 11.5 platform to retrieve the interacting genes. Results:The qRT-PCR results showed that normalized expression of LOC107987438 in PBMCs of patients with depressive disorder was higher than that in health controls(depressive disorder: 2.084±1.357, health controls: 1.000±0.660, P<0.001). The ROC curve results showed that the area under curves(AUC)of LOC107987438 was 0.759(95% CI: 0.675-0.842, P<0.05), indicating its high potential diagnostic value. Bioinformatics analysis showed that hsa-miR-4670-3p, hsa-miR-619-3p, hsa-miR-6721-5p and hsa-miR-297 were the miRNAs with high bindings to LOC107987438. The results of KEGG signaling pathway enrichment revealed that hypoxia-inducible factor 1(HIF-1)signaling pathway, phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase-AKT(PI3K-Akt) signaling pathway and erythroblastic oncogene B(ErbB) signaling pathway were closely associated with depressive disorder. Among the top ten key genes screened by the protein-protein interaction network, kirsten rats arcomaviral oncogene homolog(KRAS), androgen receptor(AR), cyclic-AMP response binding protein1(CREB1), insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF1), cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1B(CDKN1B) and calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase type Ⅱ alpha(CAMK2A)were strongly associated with depressive disorder. Conclusion:The establishment of ceRNA regulatory network of LOC107987438 provides a theoretical basis for exploring the pathophysiology of depressive disorders.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the effect of hypotension factor on endotracheal tube cuff-in-duced damage to tracheal mucous membrane of rabbits. Methods Eighty healthy rabbits of both sexes, aged 3.0-3.5 months, weighing 2.5-3.5 kg, were divided into 16 groups(n=5 each)according to the cuff pressure and mean arterial pressure(MAP): different cuff pressures when MAP did not decrease groups(C1M1group, C2M1group, C3M1group, C4M1group), different cuff pressures when MAP de-creased by 20% of the baseline value groups(C1M2group, C2M2group, C3M2group, C4M2group), dif-ferent cuff pressures when MAP decreased by 30% of the baseline value groups(C1M3group, C2M3group, C3M3group, C4M3group), and different cuff pressures when MAP decreased by 40% of the baseline value groups(C1M4group, C2M4group, C3M4group, C4M4group). Different cuff pressures were 0, 10, 20 and 30 cmH2O.At 2 h of tracheal intubation, the tracheas in the cuff-compressed area were harvested and sliced for examination of the pathological changes of tracheal mucous membrane after haematoxylin and eosin staining(with a light microscope), and the damage to tracheal mucous membrane was scored. Results When at the same low pressure(MAP decreased by 20%, 30% and 40% of the baseline value), the score of damage to tracheal mucous membrane increased with the increasing cuff pressures(P<0.05). When at the same cuff pressure(10, 20 and 30 cmH2O), the score of damage to tracheal mucous membrane in-creased with the increasing MAP(P<0.05). There was interaction between cuff pressure and MAP, F=2.034(P<0.05). Conclusion There is interaction between the effects of hypotension factor and endotra-cheal tube cuff factor on damage to tracheal mucous membrane; hypotension factor can aggravate endotra-cheal tube cuff-induced damage to tracheal mucous membrane of rabbits.

Objective To investigate the single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) of 5-HT1BR(rs6298),5-HT2AR(rs6311,rs6313) and 5-HT2BR(rs765458) gene, and their gene-gene interactions on suicidal behavior in major depressive disorder. Methods The blood samples were taken from 281 depression patients with impulsive suicide attempt and 281 age-matched healthy controls from a hospital in Harbin city,Heilongjiang province. The DNA isolated from blood samples and was genotyped using TapMan SNP genotyping probe.χ2 test was used to compare differences in the distribution of gene alleles between cases and controls.Haplotype and linkage disequilibrium(LD) analysis was performed using Haploview 4.0 software.GMDR was used to analyze the gene-gene interaction. Results The rs6313 and rs6311 of the 5-HT2AR gene were in strong linkage disequilibrium (D=0.756,r2=0.375).There was a significant gene-gene interaction of 5-HT1BR (rs6298),5-HT2AR (rs6311,rs6313) and 5-HT2BR(rs765458) on suicidal behavior(P<0.05).In this model, the test accuracy was 0.6182 and CV value was 10/10.Conclusion A haplotype containing rs6311 and rs6313 of 5-HT2AR gene is associated with suicidal behavior. The interaction of 5-HT1BR gene (rs6298),5-HT2AR gene (rs6311,rs6313) and 5-HT2BR gene (rs765458) are associated with depression suicidal behavior.

ABSTRACT

It is an important teaching task how to make respiratory disease specialists to accept the standardization training of pulmonary function. However, the theory of pulmonary function is comparatively abstract and the training time is short, but the task is heavy. In order to explore a set of feasible training mode, the pulmonary function laboratory of Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University carries out various forms of training, such as compiling textbooks, establishing case database, using multimedia teach-ing, arranging one-to-one guided teaching, and training the ability of doctor-patient communication.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the association between GNβ3 gene and depression, and to investigate the interaction of gene-environment(negative life events and childhood trauma) and potential possible pathogenesis of depression. Methods The sample of peripheral blood was collected from Chinese Northern patients(n=500) and controls(n=500).Snapshot technique was used to detect the genotype frequency and allele frequency of GNβ3 rs5443 polymorphism in cases and controls. The genotype and allele frequencies were analyzed by Chi-square test, the interactions of gene-environment were analyzed by Logistic regression. Results GNβ3 rs5443 genotype and allele frequencies were observed between patients and controls (x2 =20.249,P<0.01;x2 =4.803,P<0.05).There were genotype CC 102 and 158,genotype CT 280 and 217,genotype TT 118 and 125;allele C 484 and 533,allele T 516 and 467 between patients and controls, respectively.Logistic regression analysis showed that the interaction between rs5443 T+ and negative life events was associated with depression (P<0.05,OR=1.957).In addition, individual carrying rs5443T+ genotypes and negative life events could increase risk of depression. Conclusion GNβ3 rs5443 is a possible susceptibility gene of depression. The interaction between rs5443 and negative life events is associated with depression.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo investigate the status of benefit finding in diabetic patients, and mediating effect of resilience between family support and benefit finding in diabetic patients.MethodsFive hundred and thirteen diabetic patients from a hospital of Harbin were recruited as investigative subjects from September 2015 to June 2016.The resilience scale, family adaptability, cohesion scale and benefit finding scale were used in the study.ResultsThe scores of benefit finding, resilience and family adaptability and cohesion were 55.67±12.87,70.65±10.39 and 104.25±15.38,separately.The total score of family adaptability and cohesion was positively related to the total score of benefit finding(r=0.389,P<0.05).The total score of resilience was positively related to the total score of benefit finding(r=0.155,P<0.05).The total score of family adaptability and cohesion was positively related to the total score of resilience(r=0.112,P<0.05).Benefit finding as the dependent variable, the results of hierarchical regression analysis indicated that family adaptability and cohesion (β=0.382,P<0.01),resilience(β=0.098,P<0.01)entered the regression equation. There was a partial mediating effect of resilience between family support and benefit finding in diabetic patients. The mediating effect was 0.011,accounted for 2.8% of the total effect. The resilience was the important protective factor for benefit finding.ConclusionFamily support has a direct influence on benefit finding and an indirect effect mediated by resilience on benefit finding.
