ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the clinical effects of early combined home and outpatient intervention for high risk children. Methods Eighty-eight high risk children admitted to our hospital from February 2012 to December 2013 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into the intervention group and the control group, with 44 pa-tients in each group. The intervention group used early combined home and outpatient intervention and the control group only used conventional knowledge about nurturing and pediatric diseases. The treatment effects of the two groups of children were observed. Results Through active intervention, the intervention group was higher than the control group in the DQ of 5 functions and the total rehabilitation rate of the intervention group was 79.55%, the control group was 70.45%, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). Conclusion Application of early combined home and outpatient intervention in high risk children can improve their intelligence and motor development levels, which is of important significance to improve the high risk children's life quality.

ABSTRACT

The advent of human infections with avian influenza A(H7N9)and the emerging communicable disease has brought us profound thoughts on lemology teaching recently. We analyzed the exiting challenges of lemology teaching, including great changes in communicable diseases com-posing but limited class hours, decreasing of communicable diseases cases, medical students' psycho-logical apprehension, lack of teachers, more and more requirements in the prevention and treatment for communicable diseases from the public, etc. Several suggestions on how to further improve the lemology teaching quality were proposed including adjusting the curriculum arrangement, paing atten-tion to accumulate teaching cases, applying multi-media materials, taking full advantage of the teach-ing cases from specialized hospital, teaching students knowledge about themselves protection, improv-ing the quality of young teachers, emphasizing discipline characteristics and the importance of public health, reforming the teaching method and promoting the effect of teaching in communicable diseases.

ABSTRACT

To explore the major risk factors for hepatitis B (HBV) in Shanghai Jinshan district.A one-to-two matched case control study was performed among the residents of Shanghai Jinshan district in 2010.The data were analyzed by single factor and multivariate analysis performed with SAS 9.13.Single factor analysis showed that the risk factors for hepatitis B were family member with hepatitis B,no vaccination history of hepatitis B virus vaccine and oral treatment.Muhivariable analysis showed that family member with hepatitis B (OR =1.91),no vaccination history of HBV vaccine (OR =0.49) and oral treatment (OR =2.06) were independent risk factors for HBV infection in Shanghai Jinshan district.Strengthening health education for HBV prevention, modifying unhealthy living habits and standardizing the treatment of oral diseases are important measures for lowering infectious rate of HBV.

ABSTRACT

Objective To prepare polyclonal antibodies against human PIWIL and to identify their property and tissue distribution of PIWIL.Methods PIWIL polypeptide was synthesized and conjugated to Keyhole limpet hemocyanin(KLH) as an immunogen. Then PIWIL-KLH conjugations were injected into rabbits subcutaneously to produce polyclonal antibodies. The specificity and sensitivity of antibodies were identified by ELISA and Western blot after purification by affinity chromatography.PIWIL were then stained on the tissue chip to study their distribution. Results Rabbit antibodies against PIWIL were prepared after injection of PIWIL-KLH conjugation. These antibodies specially recognized PIWIL peptides.Expression of PIWIL was found in the cytoplasm of epithelia cells of varied normal tissues and tumor tissues. Conclusion The successful preparation of the polyclonal antibody against PIWIL will provide an efficient reagent for further study of its role in the pathway of miRNA and RNA interference and in the pathogenesis of human disease.
