ABSTRACT

The performance of the tire has a very important impact on the safe driving of the car, and in the actual use of the tire, due to complex road conditions or use conditions, it will inevitably cause immeasurable wear, scratches and other damage. In order to effectively detect the damage existing in the key parts of the tire, a tire surface damage detection method based on image processing was proposed. In this method, the image of tire side is captured by camera first. Then, the collected images are preprocessed by optimizing the multi-scale bilateral filtering algorithm to enhance the detailed information of the damaged area, and the optimization effect is obvious. Thirdly, the image segmentation based on clustering algorithm is carried out. Finally, the Harris corner detection method is used to capture the "salt and pepper" corner of the target region, and the segmsegmed binary image is screened and matched based on histogram correlation, and the target region is finally obtained. The experimental results show that the similarity detection is accurate, and the damage area can meet the requirements of accurate identification.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVES: Migraine and tremor share some genetic mutation sites, and clinical studies have also confirmed their correlation. This study aims to explore the clinical and electrophysiological characteristics of migraine patients with concomitant tremor, and to analyze the relevant influential factors of tremor occurrence. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 217 migraine patients who visited the Third Affiliated Hospital of Qiqihar Medical University from June 2022 to October 2023. The Clinical Rating Scale for Tremor (CRST), Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7), and Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) were respectively used to assess the tremor symptoms, degree of headache, anxiety, and depression of patients. All patients underwent routine head MR scanning and electromyography examination, and were divided into a migraine with tremor group and a migraine without tremor group based on the electromyogram examination. RESULTS: The migraine with tremor group and the migraine without tremor group were included 52 patients (23.96%) and 165 patients (76.04%), respectively. Compared with the migraine without tremor group, the migraine with tremor group had a longer course and duration of headache, higher frequency of headache attacks, higher NRS score, GAD-7 score, and PHQ-9 score, and fewer weekly physical exercises. The differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). There were no statistically significant differences in the presence or absence of prodromal headache and white matter hyperintensities (WMHs) between the 2 groups (both P>0.05). The evaluation results of the CRST showed that out of 217 migraine patients, 39 patients (17.97%) were accompanied by tremors. The electromyographic results showed that all 52 migraine patients with tremors had upper limb tremors, including 28 migraine patients with postural tremors and 24 migraine patients with static tremors. Compared with the migraine patients with static tremors, the migraine patients with postural tremors had lower average frequency, peak frequency, and headache onset frequency (all P<0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that frequency of physical exercise, duration of illness, frequency of headache attacks, NRS score, GAD-7 score, and PHQ-9 score were risk factors for migraine patients with concomitant tremors (all P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Patients with migraine mainly experience upper limb postural tremors. Reduced physical exercise, long course of disease, long duration of headache, frequent headache attacks, severe headache, anxiety, and depression are risk factors for migraine patients with concomitant tremors.

ABSTRACT

Tuning the polarity of charge carriers at a single-molecular level is essential for designing complementary logic circuits in the field of molecular electronics. Herein, the transport properties of N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-linked single-molecule junctions are investigated using the ab initio quantum transport approach. The results reveal that the hydrogen atoms in NHCs function as a switch for regulating the polarity of charge carriers. Dehydrogenation changes the chemical nature of NHC anchors, thereby rendering holes as the major charge carriers rather than electrons. Essentially, dehydrogenation changes the anchoring group from electron-rich to electron-deficient. The electrons transferred to molecules from the electrodes raise the molecular level closer to the Fermi level, thus resulting in charge carrier polarity conversion. This conversion is influenced by the position and number of hydrogen atoms in the NHC anchors. To efficiently and decisively alter charge carrier polarity via atomic manipulation, a methyl substitution approach is developed and verified. These results confirm that atomic manipulation is a significant method for modulating the polarity of charge carriers in NHC-based single-molecule devices.

ABSTRACT

Recently, MXenes, an emerging family of two-dimensional (2D) materials, have attracted increasing interest for photocatalytic water splitting due to their various excellent physical and chemical properties, such as large specific surface area, good hydrophilicity, and remarkable light absorption ability. However, the photocatalysts of MXenes with symmetric structures are limited by rapid recombination of photo-generated carriers and the prerequisite of a large band gap no less than 1.23 eV. Differently, Janus MXenes with different surface functional groups facilitate the separation of photo-generated electrons and holes with the help of the intrinsic electric field. And, at the same time, there is no prerequisite for the band gap of Janus MXene photocatalysts as long as they possess appropriate band edge positions. Here, we explored the structural, electronic and photocatalytic water splitting properties of symmetric Y2CT2 and Janus Y2CTT' MXenes (T, T' = H, F, Cl, OH) using the density functional theory (DFT) method. Our calculations show that all the investigated Y2CT2 are not suitable photocatalysts for photocatalytic water splitting at all pH values (pH = 0, 7, and 14). In contrast, all the investigated Janus Y2CTT' MXenes are good water splitting photocatalysts with high optical absorption coefficients and remarkable solar-to-hydrogen (STH) efficiencies larger than 18% at pH = 14. Moreover, the STH efficiencies are larger than 18% even at all investigated pH values for Y2CHCl (18.5-22.6%), Y2 CFCl (∼18.7%), and Y2 C(OH)Cl (∼19.4%). Based on the first-principles calculations, we here for the first time propose an easy strategy to design Janus MXene photocatalyst candidates with possible high STH efficiency according to the electronic properties of their symmetric counterparts. Our study is helpful for the future design of Janus MXenes and more generally Janus 2D photocatalysts for water splitting with high STH efficiency.

ABSTRACT

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the main pharmacological action and underlying mechanisms of Jin Gu Lian Capsule (JGL) against rheumatoid arthritis (RA) based on network pharmacology and experimental verification. Methods: Network pharmacology approaches were performed to explore the core active compounds of JGL, key therapeutic targets, and signaling pathways. Molecular docking was used to predict the binding affinity of compounds with targets. In vivo experiments were undertaken to validate the findings from network analysis. Results: A total of 52 targets were identified as candidate JGL targets for RA. Sixteen ingredients were identified as the core active compounds, including, quercetin, myricetin, salidroside, etc. Interleukin-1 beta (IL1B), transcription factor AP-1 (JUN), growth-regulated alpha protein (CXCL1), C-X-C motif chemokine (CXCL)3, CXCL2, signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (STAT1), prostaglandin G/H synthase 2 (PTGS2), matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)1, inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase subunit beta (IKBKB) and transcription factor p65 (RELA) were obtained as the key therapeutic targets. Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analysis showed that the efficacy of JGL was functionally involved in regulating immune-mediated inflammation, in which IL-17/NF-κB signaling was recommended as one of the main pathways. Molecular docking suggested that the core active compounds bound strongly to their respective targets. Experimentally, JGL treatment mitigated inflammation, showed analgesic activity, and ameliorated collagen-induced arthritis. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay showed that JGL effectively reduced the serum levels of cytokines, chemokines, and MMPs. Immunohistochemistry staining showed that JGL markedly reduced the expression of the targets in IL-17/NF-κB pathway including IL-17A, IL-17RA, NF-κB p65, C-X-C motif ligand 2, MMP1 and MMP13. Conclusion: This investigation provided evidence that JGL may alleviate RA symptoms by partially inhibiting the immune-mediated inflammation via IL-17/NF-κB pathway.

ABSTRACT

Fatigue life prediction of Inconel 718 fabricated by laser powder bed fusion was investigated using a miniature specimen tests method and machine learning algorithms. A small dataset-based machine learning framework integrating thirteen kinds of algorithms was constructed to predict the pore-influenced fatigue life. The method of selecting random seeds was employed to evaluate the performance of the algorithms, and then the ranking of various machine learning algorithms for predicting pore-influenced fatigue life on small datasets was obtained by verifying the prediction model twenty or thirty times. The results showed that among the thirteen popular machine learning algorithms investigated, the adaptive boosting algorithm from the boosting category exhibited the best fitting accuracy for fatigue life prediction of the additively manufactured Inconel 718 using the small dataset, followed by the decision tree algorithm in the nonlinear category. The investigation also found that DT, RF, GBDT, and XGBOOST algorithms could effectively predict the fatigue life of the additively manufactured Inconel 718 within the range of 1 × 105 cycles on a small dataset compared to others. These results not only demonstrate the capability of using small dataset-based machine learning techniques to predict fatigue life but also may guide the selection of algorithms that minimize performance evaluation costs when predicting fatigue life.

ABSTRACT

We study the regulation of the electronic and spin transport properties of the WGe2N4 monolayer by adsorbing 4d transition metal atoms (Y-Cd) using density functional theory combined with non-equilibrium Green's function. It is found that the adsorption of transition metal atoms (except Pd, Ag and Cd atoms) can introduce a magnetic moment into the WGe2N4 monolayer. Among the transition metal atoms, the adsorption of Nb and Rh atoms transforms WGe2N4 from a semiconductor to a half-metal and a highly spin-polarized semiconductor, respectively. The half-metallic Nb-adsorbed WGe2N4 system is selected to investigate the spin transport properties, and a high magnetoresistance ratio of 107% is achieved. In both parallel and antiparallel magnetization configurations, the spin filtering efficiency reaches close to 100% in the whole bias range, and the antiparallel magnetization configuration exhibits a dual spin filtering effect with a rectification ratio of up to 104. Our study predicts that the adsorption of 4d transition metal heteroatoms is an effective method to regulate the electronic and magnetic properties of WGe2N4 towards high-performance spintronic devices.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Severe pneumonia progresses rapidly, so early assessment of the severity and prognosis is crucial for reducing mortality rates. Objective: We explore the role of serum microRNA-24 (miR-24) and microRNA-223 (miR-223) in the prognosis of severe pneumonia. Methods: There were a total of 96 patients with general pneumonia, 94 patients with severe pneumonia, and 93 healthy people, who were enrolled in this study. The levels of serum miR-24 and miR-223 were detected by real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR in all groups. Results: The serum miR-223 level in the severe group was higher than that in the common group and the control group, and the miR-24 level was lower than that in the common group and the control group (P<0.05). The serum miR-223 levels and APACHEII scores in the death group were higher than those in the survival group on the first, third, and seventh day after admission, while the miR-24 levels were lower than those in the survival group (P<0.05). The proportion of patients with mechanical ventilation in the death group was higher than that in the survival group (P<0.05). The level of serum miR-24 was negatively correlated with APACHEII score and mechanical ventilation in patients who died of severe pneumonia (P<0.05), and miR-223 was positively correlated with APACHEII score and mechanical ventilation (P<0.05). The AUC predicted by serum miR-24, miR-223, and APACHEII scores alone and jointly were 0.867, 0.839, 0.791, and 0.952, respectively. MiR-24 and miR-223 are protective and independent risk factors for mortality in severe pneumonia patients, respectively (P<0.05). MiR-24 was a protective factor affecting the death of patients with severe pneumonia, and miR-223 was an independent risk factor affecting the death of patients with severe pneumonia (P<0.05). Conclusion: The combination of serum miR-24 and miR-223 levels on the first day after admission and APACHEII score can effectively predict prognosis.

ABSTRACT

Cuproptosis is a recently discovered type of programmed cell death that shows significant potential in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. It has important significance in the prognosis of HSNC. This study aims to construct a cuproptosis-related prognostic model and risk score through new data analysis methods such as machine learning algorithms for the prognosis analysis of HSNC. Protein-protein interaction network and machine learning methods were employed to identify hub genes that were used to construct a TreeGradientBoosting model for predicting overall survival. The relationship between the risk scores obtained from the model and features such as tumor microenvironment (TME) and tumor immunity was explored. The C-indexes of the TreeGradientBoosting model in the training and validation cohorts were 0.776 and 0.848, respectively. The nomogram based on risk scores and clinical features showed good performance, and distinguished the TME and immunity between high-risk and low-risk groups. The cuproptosis-associated risk score can be used to predict prognoses, TME, and tumor immunity of HNSC patients.

ABSTRACT

The understanding of the interfacial effect on charge transport is essential in single-molecule electronics. In this study, we elucidated the transport properties of molecular junctions comprising thiol-terminated oligosilane with three to eight Si atoms and two types of Ag/Au electrode materials employing different interfacial configurations. First-principles quantum transport calculations demonstrated that the interfacial configuration determines the relative magnitude of the current between the Ag and Au electrodes, wherein the Ag monoatomic contact configuration presented a larger current than did the Au double-atom configuration. Further, the mechanism of electron tunneling from the interfacial states through the central σ channel was revealed. In contrast to Au double-atom electrodes, Ag monoatomic electrodes exhibit a higher current due to the presence of Ag-S interfacial states closer to the Fermi level. Our findings show that the interfacial configuration is a plausible way to generate the relative magnitude of current of thiol-terminated oligosilane molecular junctions with Au/Ag electrodes and provide further insight into the interfacial effect on the transport properties.

ABSTRACT

Monolayer (ML) PtSe2 is a two-dimensional (2D) semiconductor with a modest band gap and high carrier mobility, and it is a promising 2D material for electronic devices. Finding suitable metal electrodes is a key factor in fabricating high-performance PtSe2 field effect transistors (FETs). In this study, a series of 2D metals, transition metal dichalcogenides (NbSe2, TaS2), borophene, and MXenes (V2C(OH)2, V2CF2, Nb2C(OH)2, Nb2CF2, Nb2CO2, Hf2C(OH)2, Hf2CF2) were used as electrodes for FET fabrication. The interfacial electronic properties of electrodes and PtSe2 were studied in both the vertical and lateral directions using the ab initio method. In the vertical direction, PtSe2 formed ohmic contacts with most of the 2D metals except for Nb2CF2 and Hf2CF2. Specifically, in the cases of Nb2CF2 and Hf2CF2, p- and n-type Schottky contacts were formed with Schottky barrier heights (SBHs) of 0.48 eV and 0.02 eV, respectively. In the lateral direction, PtSe2 with contacting Hf2CF2 and V2C(OH)2 electrodes formed n-type Schottky contacts with SBHs of 0.14 eV and 0.09 eV, respectively. In the cases of TaS2 and Nb2CF2 electrodes, p-type Schottky contacts with SBHs of 0.35 eV and 0.29 eV, respectively, were formed. Moreover, n-type ohmic contacts were observed when Hf2C(OH)2 and Nb2C(OH)2 electrodes were applied, and p-type ohmic contacts were formed when borophene, NbSe2, Nb2CO2, and V2CF2 electrodes were used. This work reports a systematic investigation of ML PtSe2-2D metal interfaces and serves as a practical guide for selecting electrode materials for PtSe2 FETs.

ABSTRACT

Background: A. chinense frequently used in Miao medicine to treat rheumatic diseases. However, as a famous toxic herb, Alangium chinense and its representative components exhibit ineluctable neurotoxicity, thus creating significant challenges for clinical application. The combined application with compatible herbs in Jin-Gu-Lian formula attenuates such neurotoxicity according to the compatible principle of traditional Chinese medicines. Purpose: We aimed to investigate the detoxification of the compatible herbs in Jin-Gu-Lian formula on A. chinense-induced neurotoxicity and investigate its mechanism. Methods: Neurobehavioral and pathohistological analysis were used to determine the neurotoxicity in rats administered with A. chinense extract (AC), extract of compatible herbs in Jin-Gu-Lian formula (CH) and combination of AC with CH for 14 days. The mechanism underlying the reduction of toxicity by combination with CH was assessed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays, spectrophotometric assays, liquid chromatography tandem-mass spectrometry and real-time reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Results: Compatible herbs attenuated the AC-induced neurotoxicity as evidenced by increased locomotor activity, enhanced grip strength, the decreased frequency of AC-induced morphological damage in neurons, as well as a reduction of neuron-specific enolase (NSE) and neurofilament light chain (NEFL) levels. The combination of AC and CH ameliorated AC-induced oxidative damage by modulating the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), and total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC). AC treatment significantly reduced the levels of monoamine and acetylcholine neurotransmitters in the brains of rats, including acetylcholine (Ach), dopamine (DA), 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC), homovanillic acid (HVA), norepinephrine (NE), and serotonin (5-HT). Combined AC and CH treatment regulated the abnormal concentrations and metabolisms of neurotransmitters. Pharmacokinetic studies showed that the co-administration of AC and CH significantly decreased plasma exposure levels of two main components of AC, as evidenced by the reduction of maximum plasma concentration (Cmax), area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC) compared to AC. In addition, the AC-induced downregulation in mRNA expression of cytochrome P450 enzymes was significantly reduced in response to combined AC and CH treatment. Conclusion: Compatible herbs in Jin-Gu-Lian formula alleviated the neurotoxicity induced by A. chinense by ameliorating oxidative damage, preventing abnormality of neurotransmitters and modulating pharmacokinetics.

ABSTRACT

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection causes abnormal lipid metabolism in hepatocytes, which leads to hepatic steatosis and even hepatocellular carcinoma. HCV nonstructural protein 4B (NS4B) has been reported to induce lipogenesis, but the underlying mechanism is unclear. In this study, western blots were performed to investigate the effect of NS4B protein levels on key effectors of the Hippo and AKT signaling pathways. Yes-associated protein (YAP) and moesin-ezrin-radixin-like protein (Merlin) are effectors of the Hippo pathway. NS4B downregulated Merlin and phosphorylated YAP (p-YAP) protein expression while increasing the expression of the key AKT pathway proteins p-AKT and NF-κB. By observing the levels of AKT pathway proteins when Merlin was overexpressed or silenced, it was determined that Merlin mediates the AKT pathway. We suggest that HCV NS4B may mediate the AKT signaling pathway by inhibiting the Hippo pathway. Lipid droplets were observed in Huh7.5 cells overexpressing NS4B, and they increased significantly in number when Merlin was silenced. Overexpression of NS4B and Merlin silencing enhanced the expression of sterol regulatory element binding proteins (SREBPs), which have been demonstrated to be key regulatory factors controlling fatty acid synthesis. NS4B and Merlin silencing also enhanced the in vitro proliferative capacity of hepatocellular carcinoma cells. In conclusion, NS4B induces lipogenesis via the effect of the Hippo-YAP pathway on the AKT signaling pathway and thereby plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of HCV-associated diseases.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Systemic sclerosis (SSc; also known as "scleroderma") is an autoimmune disorder characterized by extensive fibrosis, vascular changes, and immunologic dysregulation. Baicalein (phenolic flavonoid derived from Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi) has been used to treat the pathological processes of various fibrotic and inflammatory diseases. In this study, we investigated the effect of baicalein on the major pathologic characteristics of SSc: fibrosis, B-cell abnormalities, and inflammation. METHODS: The effect of baicalein on collagen accumulation and expression of fibrogenic markers in human dermal fibroblasts were analyzed. SSc mice were produced by injecting bleomycin and treated with baicalein (25, 50, or 100 mg/kg). The antifibrotic features of baicalein and its mechanisms were investigated by histologic examination, hydroxyproline assay, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, western blotting and flow cytometry. RESULTS: Baicalein (5-120 µM) significantly inhibited the accumulation of the extracellular matrix and fibroblast activation in transforming growth factor (TGF)-ß1- and platelet derived growth factor (PDGF)-induced human dermal fibroblasts, as evidenced by abrogated deposition of total collagen, decreased secretion of soluble collagen, reduced collagen contraction capability and downregulation of various fibrogenesis molecules. In a bleomycin-induced model of dermal fibrosis in mice, baicalein (25-100 mg/kg) restored dermal architecture, ameliorated inflammatory infiltrates, and attenuated dermal thickness and collagen accumulation in a dose-dependent manner. According to flow cytometry, baicalein reduced the proportion of B cells (B220+ lymphocytes) and increased the proportion of memory B cells (B220+CD27+ lymphocytes) in the spleens of bleomycin-induced mice. Baicalein treatment potently attenuated serum levels of cytokines (interleukin (IL)-1ß, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-17A, tumor necrosis factor-α), chemokines (monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, macrophage inflammatory protein-1 beta) and autoantibodies (anti-scleroderma 70 (Scl-70), anti-polymyositis-scleroderma (PM-Scl), anti-centromeres, anti-double stranded DNA (dsDNA). In addition, baicalein treatment can significantly inhibit the activation of TGF-ß1 signaling in dermal fibroblasts and bleomycin-induce mice of SSc, evidenced by reducing the expression of TGF-ß1 and IL-11, as well as inhibiting both small mother against decapentaplegic homolog 3 (SMAD3) and extracellular signal-related kinase (ERK) activation. CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that baicalein has therapeutic potential against SSc, exerting modulating B-cell abnormalities, anti-inflammatory effects, and antifibrosis.

ABSTRACT

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are considered to be promising candidates for fabricating nanowires, due to their stable quasi-one-dimensional structure. Controlling the electronic transport properties is one of the most vital issues for molecular nanowires. Herein, using density functional theory combined with nonequilibrium Green's function method, we systematically investigate the current evolution of (4, 4) single-walled CNT based nanowires in squashing processes. When the CNTs are squashed by applying different pressure along the radial direction, a negative correlation can be found between the electrical conductance of the nanowire and the pressure. Besides, the response of the nano junction current to pressure is influenced by the squashing direction. Not only does the geometric structure show symmetry breaking in the specific squashing direction, which causes the CNT electrodes to change from conductors to semiconductors, but also obvious π stacking behavior can be witnessed in this squashing direction. More intriguingly, because the current of the nano junction can be completely cut off by squashing the CNTs, a significant switching behavior with the on/off ratio of up to 103 is obtained at low bias voltages. The underlying mechanisms for these phenomena are revealed by the analysis of the band structures, transmission spectra, frontier molecular orbitals and transmission pathways. These electronic transport properties make CNT a promising candidate for realizing conductance controllable nano devices.

ABSTRACT

Nasal administration of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has a long history of applications. With the gradual maturing of technology and pharmacological advances, nasal preparations of TCM have undergone significant changes. Nasal TCM formulations are used not only for treatment of pneumonia, asthma, sinusitis and allergic rhinitis but also Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease, as antidepressants and antiepileptics, and in ischemia reperfusion. However, according to the analysis of nasal preparations of TCM currently on the market, most of them were compound preparations, which were used to treat allergic rhinitis (AR), common cold, headache and other local treatments, with a small range of diseases. At the same time, the dosage forms were mainly traditional dosage forms, aerosols and sprays, but there were no new dosage forms, which can not meet the clinical needs in terms of variety number, variety diversity and disease types. In this manuscript, we reviewed the development and applications of different nasal preparations of TCM from the aspects of nasal structure, origin, factors affecting absorption and common dosage forms, pharmacodynamics, targeting of nasal delivery and safety. In the near future, we expect that more nasal preparations of Chinese medicine with independent intellectual property rights will be marketed to meet the needs of clinical disease management.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: Exploring the libido status of male chronic headache patients and analyzing its relationship with headache symptoms, sleep, anxiety, and depression, providing reference for the comprehensive treatment of male chronic headache. METHODS: 179 patients with chronic headache who visited the Third Affiliated Hospital of Qiqihar Medical College from January 2022 to February 2023 were selected. The male Self Rated Libido Scale , Visual Analog Scale for Pain, Migraine Disability Assessment Scale, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale-7, and Patient Health Questionnaire-9 were used to evaluate the libido status, headache severity, disability level, sleep quality, anxiety, and depression of the research subjects, respectively. RESULTS: Among 179 male chronic headache patients, 97 were chronic migraine (CM) patients and 82 were chronic tension type (CTT) patients, and 47 were screened for low libido. The influencing factors of libido in male chronic headache patients include age, smoking, frequency of exercise, course of disease, severity of pain, frequency of headache, disability score, sleep quality, anxiety and depression (all P<0.05). Compared with male CTT patients, male CM patients have higher pain severity, headache frequency, disability score, and anxiety score, while lower libido score (all P<0.05). The results of multivariate analysis showed that age, frequency of exercise, course of disease, severity of pain, frequency of headache, degree of disability, sleep quality, anxiety, and depression were the influencing factors for the decline of libido in male chronic headache patients. CONCLUSION: It is common for male chronic headache patients to experience decreased libido, with male chronic migraine (CM) patients exhibiting more severe reductions. Advanced age, decreased physical activity, longer disease duration, severe pain intensity, frequent headaches, higher disability levels, poor sleep, anxiety, and depression are risk factors for decreased libido in male chronic headache patients.

ABSTRACT

P2X7 receptor (P2X7) is a non-selective and ATP-sensitive ligand-gated cation channel. Studies have confirmed that it is expressed in a variety of cells and correlates with their function, frequently in immune cells and tumor cells. We found increased expression of this receptor in many tumor cells, and it has a role in tumor survival and progression. In immune cells, upregulation of the receptor has a double effect on tumor suppression as well as tumor promotion. This review describes the structure of P2X7 and its role in the tumor microenvironment and presents possible mechanisms of P2X7 in tumor invasion and metastasis. Understanding the potential of P2X7 for tumor treatment, we also present several therapeutic agents targeting P2X7 and their mechanisms of action. In conclusion, the study of P2X7 is an important guideline for the use of clinical tumor therapy and may be able to provide a new idea for tumor treatment, but considering the complexity of the biological effects of P2X7, the drugs should be used with caution in clinical practice.

ABSTRACT

Diodes have been widely studied as one of the most commonly used electronic components in circuits, and it is important to find diodes with an excellent rectification performance. Herein, we investigate the electronic and transport properties of Schottky contact diodes based on zigzag hydrogenated blue phosphorene nanoribbons, by employing density functional theory combined with the non-equilibrium Green's function. It is found that the adsorption of transition metal atoms Sc/Cr/Ti and Ni on the top site of blue phosphorene nanoribbons leads to metallic and semiconducting properties, respectively. Devices consisting of the planar contact of the metallic and semiconducting nanoribbons show rectifying behavior due to the Schottky barriers of the homojunctions. The current is preferential to flow from the semiconducting side to the metallic side. The rectification ratio of the Sc-Ni device and the Cr-Ni device can reach up to 108, which is much higher than that of traditional p-n junctions of about 105-107. The high rectification ratio at low bias regions, together with the low threshold voltages and negligible reverse currents, make blue phosphorene nanoribbon homojunctions ideal rectifier diodes.

ABSTRACT

The evolution of a local strain of the Ti-6Al-4V alloy subjected to tensile loading was investigated in situ by using the digital image correlation technique. The results show that some local strain concentration areas have already appeared in the elastic deformation stage, which then connected and became concentrated in the gauge region when the specimen yielded. The strain compatibility of grains in the macroscopic region is kept constant. The deformation process is further divided into six parts based on the development of the maximum strain gradient, and the strain compatibility of each stage of the alloy is summarized and analyzed. The quasi-in situ experiment reveals that the primary α(αp) grains undertake the main deformation at the micro-scale.
