ABSTRACT

With the help of differential blood count analysis and velocity of erythrocyte sedimentation (VES), 30 healthy persons (donors), 30 patients with chronic ischemic hearty disease (IHD) and 34 patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) underwent the procedure of calculation for leukocyte index (LI), leukocyte intoxication index (LII), leukocyte shift index (LSI), leukocyte and VES ratio (LVESR), leukocytic and granulocytic index (LGI), general index (GI), neurophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), neurophil-monocyte ratio (NMR), lymphocyte-monocyte ratio (LMR) and lymphocyte-eosinophil ratio (LER). Unlike healthy people, patients with chronic IHD had higher indices of LVESR, GI and LER while patients with AMI had increasing indices of LII, LSI, NLR, LER and decreasing indices of LI, LGI, GI, LMI. In case of AMI compared with chronic IHD, average indices of LII, LSI, NLR were higher and indices of LI, LGI, LVESR, GI, LMR were lower. The obtained results show expansion of possibilities to get information about the state of non-specific immunologic reactivity in patients with various IHD forms with the help of integral indices in blood leukogram.

ABSTRACT

The authors discuss the major assumptions of the new concept of cardiac cycle structure, suggested by Professor V. N. Fatenkov. Analysis of the experimental and clinical data has lead them to a conclusion that the suggested concept is well-grounded and therefore may and should become a check point for further studies of cardiac biomechanics.

ABSTRACT

Content of total lipids, phospholipids, total-, free- and ester-bound cholesterol, free fatty acids and triglycerides were increased in myocardium of left ventricle of rabbits with atherogenic dyslipoproteinemia as compared with intact animals. In polymorphonuclear leukocytes content of total lipids and phospholipids was increased only, while in mononuclear leukocytes concentration of total lipids, free-, total- and ester-bound cholesterol and of free fatty acids was elevated.

ABSTRACT

Isometric stress tolerance was examined in 40 normal females and 40 female patients with subacute myocardial infarction (MI). Normal females exhibited smaller hand grip force, as compared to normal males with similar static stress tolerance. Female MI patients, like their male counterparts, showed uncompromised hand grip force, while their static stress tolerance was reduced, being approximately similar in both male and female patients. In normal females and female MI patients, changes in heart rate, systolic and diastolic arterial blood pressure and the double product were similar to those observed in males, but were induced by smaller static stress.

ABSTRACT

In patients with chronic heart ischemic disease increase in contents of total lipids, total, free and ester-bound cholesterol, phospholipids, free fatty acids and triglycerides was detected in mononuclear leukocytes; in polymorphonuclear leukocytes from peripheric blood of the patients increase in content of phospholipids with simultaneous decrease of free fatty acids and triglycerides were observed as compared with the similar patterns of lipid composition in the cells of healthy persons.
