ABSTRACT
A 45-year-old male prisoner was referred to the orthopedic outpatients clinic after he sustained a blunt palmar injury when he tried to break-up a bag of ice with the volar aspect of his hand. A few months later a pulsatile expansile mass developed at the site of blunt trauma affecting flexion and extension of the fingers and inability to hold objects. A computed tomography angiogram confirmed the mass to be a true aneurysm of the superficial palmar arch 3 cm in size. The patient was referred to the vascular surgery department where the aneurysm was dissected and ligated with removal of the thrombus with no reconstruction of the vessel necessary. The patient had an uneventful recovery with return of full function.
ABSTRACT
Due to the anatomical complexity of the aortic arch for the development of stent-grafts for total repair, this region remains without a validated and routinely used endovascular option. In this work, a modular stent-graft for aneurysms that covers all aortic arch zones, proposed by us and previously structurally evaluated, was evaluated from the point of view of haemodynamics using fluid-structural numerical simulations. Blood was assumed to be non-Newtonian shear-thinning using the Carreau model, and the arterial wall was assumed to be anisotropic hyperelastic using the Holzapfel model. Nitinol and expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE-e) were used as materials for the stents and the graft, respectively. Nitinol was modelled as a superelastic material with shape memory by the Auricchio model, and PTFE-e was modelled as an isotropic linear elastic material. To validate the numerical model, a silicone model representative of the aneurysmal aorta was subjected to tests on an experimental bench representative of the circulatory system. The numerical results showed that the stent-graft restored flow behaviour, making it less oscillatory, but increasing the strain rate, turbulence kinetic energy, and viscosity compared to the pathological case. Taking the mean of the entire cycle, the increase in turbulence kinetic energy was 198.82% in the brachiocephalic trunk, 144.63% in the left common carotid artery and 284.03% in the left subclavian artery after stent-graft implantation. Based on wall shear stress parameters, it was possible to identify that the internal branches of the stent-graft and the stent-graft fixation sites in the artery were the most favourable regions for the deposition and accumulation of thrombus. In these regions, the oscillating shear index reached the maximum value of 0.5 and the time-averaged wall shear stress was close to zero, which led the relative residence time to reach values above 15 Pa-1. The stent-graft was able to preserve flow in the supra-aortic branches.

BACKGROUND: Long-term enlargement of the aortic arch after aortic arch reconstruction in hypoplastic left heart syndrome is not well described. METHODS: Aortic arch measurements for 50 patients with hypoplastic left heart syndrome who achieved Fontan completion were converted to Pediatric Heart Network z-scores. Dimensions were assessed using linear mixed models, and differences among time points were evaluated with F-tests. Sub-analysis was conducted comparing Norwood (n = 36) with hybrid (n = 14) strategies. RESULTS: Median time to last imaging was 6.4 (interquartile range, 3.5-11.3) years. Before intervention, the main pulmonary artery was dilated, whereas the ascending aorta, transverse arch, and isthmus were hypoplastic. With aortic arch reconstruction, there were expected increases in all arch z-scores. The aortic arch continued to dilate after aortic arch reconstruction, reaching peak values at 7 months (neo-aortic complex: z = 6.9 [5.6-8.0]) or 12 months after stage I (ascending aorta: z = 6.1 [2.9-8.3]; transverse arch: z = 4.7 [3.0-5.9]). After peak values, there was a gradual decline in z-scores with most components still at least mildly dilated at 16 years (neo-aortic complex: z = 3.2 [3.1-3.9], ascending aorta: z = 3.9 [3.3-4.2]; transverse arch: z = 3.1 [2.5-3.7]) with abrupt caliber change at the isthmus: z = -0.8 (-1.1 to -0.3). Norwood and hybrid strategies showed similar enlargement profiles after 7 months of age. CONCLUSIONS: Neo-aortic root and aortic arch in hypoplastic left heart syndrome are enlarged early after aortic arch reconstruction and continue to enlarge out of proportion to normal controls until 12 months of age, with gradual decline in enlargement up to adolescence. Further work should focus on modifiable surgical factors that may prove important to optimize arch growth and geometry.

Shifts from deep to moderate hypothermic circulatory arrest (HCA) in aortic arch surgery necessitate an examination of their differential impacts on neurocognitive functions, especially structured verbal memory, given its significance for patient recovery and quality of life. This study evaluates and synthesizes evidence on the effects of deep (≤20.0 °C), low-moderate (20.1-24.0 °C), and high-moderate (24.1-28.0 °C) hypothermic temperatures on structured verbal memory preservation and overall cognitive health in patients undergoing aortic arch surgery. We evaluated the latest literature from major medical databases such as PubMed and Scopus, focusing on research from 2020 to 2024, to gather comprehensive insights into the current landscape of temperature management during HCA. This comparative analysis highlights the viability of moderate hypothermia (20.1-28.0 °C), supported by recent trials and observational studies, as a method to achieve comparable neuroprotection with fewer complications than traditional deep hypothermia. Notably, low-moderate and high-moderate temperatures have been shown to support substantial survival rates, with impacts on structured verbal memory preservation that necessitate careful selection based on individual surgical risks and patient profiles. The findings advocate for a nuanced approach to selecting hypothermic protocols in aortic arch surgeries, emphasizing the importance of tailoring temperature management to optimize neurocognitive outcomes and patient recovery. This study fills a critical gap in the literature by providing evidence-based recommendations for temperature ranges during HCA, calling for ongoing updates to clinical guidelines and further research to refine these recommendations. The implications of temperature on survival rates, complications, and success rates underpin the necessity for evolving cardiopulmonary bypass techniques and cerebral perfusion strategies to enhance patient outcomes in complex cardiovascular procedures.

PURPOSE: The purpose was to demonstrate a new arch endograft configuration to allow total endovascular aortic arch repair exclusive from transfemoral approach. TECHNIQUE: The custom-made multi-branched arch endograft (Cook Medical, Bloomington, Indiana) features 3 inner branches (IBs) for supra-aortic vessels incorporation and complete endovascular arch repair. Traditionally, the innominate and left carotid branches are anterograde IBs, requiring upper access for incorporation of these vessels, and the left subclavian branch is an upward-facing IB that can be incorporated from transfemoral access. We report a novel device configuration with only upward-facing IBs, allowing exclusive transfemoral route for total endovascular arch repair. Technical aspects, implantation technique, and limitations are described thoroughly. CONCLUSION: Herein is described an arch endograft configuration that simplifies endovascular aortic arch repair, allowing supra-aortic vessel incorporation through a transfemoral route only. This innovative design may serve as another alternative in selected patients. CLINICAL IMPACT: This innovative endograft design, with only upward-facing inner branches, simplifies the total endovascular aortic arch repair by allowing for a exclusively transfemoral approach. This may reduce procedural complexity and minimizes risks associated with multiple access points. It provides another alternative, particularly beneficial for selected high-risk patients for open repair, potentially expanding the applicability of endovascular treatments for aortic arch pathologies.

The lusoria artery has a prevalence of 0.5-2% in the general population. The abnormal development of the aortic arch forms vascular rings around the trachea and esophagus, causing pressure on them and leading to characteristic symptoms such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, and/or swallowing. Conventionally, only the subclavian artery was severed to release the esophagus, as done in neonates. However, this can lead to long-term hypotrophy of the thoracic limb. The surgical intervention remains controversial, with limitations, and it is only to be performed when the patient presents with symptoms. In the following two cases, a two-stage minimally invasive approach is described: first, a left lateral minithoracotomy for lusoria artery sectioning, and second, a supraclavicular approach for reimplantation into the right carotid artery.
La arteria lusoria tiene una prevalencia del 0.5% al 2% en la población general. Se trata de un arco aórtico izquierdo con arteria subclavia derecha aberrante, resulta de la regresión del cuarto arco derecho y la aorta dorsal derecha proximal. La anormalidad del desarrollo del arco aórtico forma anillos vasculares alrededor de la tráquea y el esófago ocasionando una presión hacia ellos y dar clínica característica de dolor torácico, dificultad para la respiración y/o deglución. Tradicionalmente solo seccionábamos la subclavia para liberar el esófago como se realiza en la edad neonatal, sin embargo, esto puede condicionar hipotrofia del miembro torácico a largo plazo. La intervención quirúrgica sigue siendo controvertida, con limitaciones y se decide realizarse cuando el paciente presenta sintomatología. En este reporte de dos casos se describe un abordaje por incisiones mínimamente invasiva en dos tiempos: primero por mini toracotomía lateral izquierda para sección de la arteria lusoria; segundo abordaje supraclavicular para reimplantación en la carótida derecha.

OBJECTIVES: This investigation aimed to assess the optimal timing for lip repair in children with cleft lip and palate via 3D anthropometric analysis to evaluate their maxillofacial structures. METHODS: The sample comprised 252 digitized dental models, divided into groups according to the following timing of lip repair: G1 (n = 50): 3 months; G2 (n = 50): 5 and 6 months; G3 (n = 26): 8 and 10 months. Models were evaluated at two-time points: T1: before lip repair; T2: at 5 years of age. Linear measurements, area, and Atack index were analyzed. RESULTS: At T1, the intergroup analysis revealed that G1 had statistically significant lower means of I-C', I-C, C-C', and the sum of the segment areas compared to G2 (p = 0.0140, p = 0.0082, p = 0.0004, p < 0.0001, respectively). In addition, there was a statistically significant difference when comparing the cleft area between G2 and G3 (p = 0.0346). At T2, the intergroup analysis revealed that G1 presented a statistically significant mean I-C' compared to G3 (p = 0.0461). In the I-CC' length analysis, G1 and G3 showed higher means when compared to G2 (p = 0.0039). The I-T' measurement was statistically higher in G1 than in G2 (p = 0.0251). In the intergroup growth rate analysis, G1 and G2 showed statistically significant differences in the I-C' measurement compared to G3 (p = 0.0003). In the analysis of the Atack index, there was a statistically significant difference between G1 and the other sample sets (p < 0.0001). CONCLUSION: Children who underwent surgery later showed better results in terms of the growth and development of the dental arches.
ABSTRACT
Ventricular septal defect is the most common congenital heart disease in children and is associated with patent ductus arteriosus in 1%-7% of cases. The coexistence of both malformities with hypoplastic aortic arch and aortic coarctation is even rarer. We present the case of a 6-year-old girl referred to our hospital because of dyspnea on feeding, recurrent respiratory infections, poor weight gain, and a heart murmur. The image studies revealed a ventricular septal defect, patent ductus arteriosus, severe hypoplasia of the aortic arch with critical stenosis of the proximal portion, severe dilatation of the pulmonary artery and pulmonary, mitral, tricuspid, and aortic regurgitation. We will discuss the diagnostic approach and treatment in a tertiary reference center for patients with cardiovascular diseases.

This clinical vignette describes the first case of a woman in his 40s with a set of congenital anomalies given by tetralogy of Fallot associated with aortic origin of the left pulmonary artery and uncorrected right aortic arch. All of these entities have a poor probability of survival in adulthood.

The goal of this clinical report was to present an alternative to traditional flat bone reduction guides, using a custom-designed 3-dimensional (3D)-printed guide according to the future gingival margin of the planned dentition. A 61-year-old woman with concerns regarding her smile appearance was presented. The initial examination revealed excessive gingival show accompanied by excessive overjet. The dentition was in a failing situation. The proposed treatment plan, relying on the sufficient amount of bone and keratinized tissue, consisted of recontouring of the alveolar ridge and gingiva and placement of 6 implants and an FP-1 prosthesis after extraction of all remaining maxillary teeth. Digital smile design was completed, and a fully digitally guided surgery was planned. This consisted of using 3 surgical guides, starting with the fixation pin guide, continuing with the scalloped hard- and soft-tissue reduction guide, and finally the implant placement template. Following the surgery, the patient received a temporary restoration, and on the 4-month follow-up, a new polymethyl meta-acrylate temporary prosthesis was delivered. The patient's 7-month follow-up is presented in the article. The report of this triple-template guided surgery indicated that digital 3D planning is a considerably predictable tool to properly establish and evaluate future occlusal plane, smile line, and lip support. Scalloped guides seem to be an excellent alternative to conventional bone reduction guides since they require less bone removal and improve patient comfort during surgery.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the touch perception threshold of the alveolar mucosa and quality of life of edentulous patients before (T0) and 30 days after (T1) the insertion of new complete dentures. BACKGROUND: Touch perception is important so that edentulous patients can detect the position of complete dentures in their mouth. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study included 32 complete denture wearers with good oral and systemic health and no temporomandibular disorders for at least 5 years. At each time point (T0 and T1), two tests were performed (touch perception threshold and quality-of-life scale). The touch perception threshold (Von Frey or Semmes-Weinstein test) was assessed using nylon monofilaments on the regions of the alveolar mucosa of the maxilla and mandible. The Oral Health Impact Profile for edentulous individuals (OHIP-EDENT) was administered to evaluate oral health-related quality of life. RESULTS: In the maxilla and mandible, the touch perception thresholds for all regions of the alveolar mucosa were significantly lower at T1 than at T0. The OHIP-EDENT mean scores showed that the overall quality of life was significantly better at T1 (3.6) than at T0 (4.7), and a significant improvement in quality of life was observed in all domains of the OHIP-EDENT at T1. For touch perception threshold, effect sizes ranged from 0.4 to 0.8; and for quality of life, effect sizes ranged from 0.4 to 1.0. CONCLUSIONS: New complete dentures reduced the touch perception threshold of the alveolar mucosa of both edentulous arches and improved individuals' quality of life.

Background: Arterialization of the dorsal venous arch of the foot is a technique indicated in cases of critical lower limb ischemia that do not have a distal bed that is adequate to enable conventional treatment such as revascularization, angioplasty, or clinical treatment. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to present the result of arterialization of the venous arch of the foot in 16 patients who underwent treatment with this technique. Methods: This is a cross-sectional retrospective descriptive analytical study based on a review of the medical records of 16 patients who underwent arterialization of the dorsal venous arch of the foot for limb salvage from January 2016 to January 2021. Results: Four (25%) of the 16 patients who underwent arterialization of the venous arch of the foot underwent a major amputation during the same hospital stay and one patient (6.25%) had a major amputation within 6 months. The other 11 patients (68.75%) had their limbs preserved, with 10 undergoing minor amputations (toes and forefoot) and one patient having no additional procedures. Conclusions: We conclude that the technique of arterialization of the dorsal venous arch of the foot should be considered in selected cases. It is a valid alternative for limb salvage when conventional treatment is impossible.

AIM: To evaluate the maxillary incisors and canine's immediate movement tendency using three different power arms (PA) height levels during total arch maxillary distalization supported on infrazygomatic crest (IZC) miniscrews according to finite element analysis (FEA). METHODS: Three finite element models of the maxilla were developed based on CBCT imaging of a teenage male patient presenting a Class II Division 1 malocclusion in the early permanent dentition. Maxillary complex, periodontium, orthodontic accessories, IZC miniscrews and an orthodontic wire were digitally created. The PAs were placed between canines and lateral incisors and projected at 4, 7, and 10 mm height distances. After that, distalization forces were simulated between PA and IZC miniscrews. RESULTS: The anterior teeth deformation produced in the FEA models was assessed according to a Von Mises equivalent. The stress was measured, revealing tendencies of initial maxillary teeth movement. No differences were found between the right and left sides. However, there was a significant difference among models in the under-stress areas, especially the apical and cervical root areas of the maxillary anterior teeth. More significant extrusion and lingual tipping of incisors were observed with the 4 mm power arm compared to the 7 mm and 10 mm ones. The 10 mm power arm did not show any tendency for extrusion of maxillary central incisors but a tendency for buccal tipping and intrusion of lateral incisors. CONCLUSION: The maxillary incisors and canines have different immediate movement tendencies according to the height of the anterior point of the en-masse distalization force application. Based on the PA height increase, a change from lingual to buccal tipping and less extrusion tendency was observed for the incisors, while the lingual tipping and extrusion trend for canines increased.

BACKGROUND: Ascending aortic aneurysms are rare pathologies in childhood, especially in the absence of previous diseases such as Marfan syndrome. OBJECTIVE: Present the possibility of successful endovascular management of large vessel aneurysms, using stents and microcatheters with embolization of the aneurysm sac. METHOD: We present the case of a previously healthy ten-year-old patient, in whom a pseudoaneurysm was documented between the origin of the left common carotid artery and left subclavian artery, successfully managed endovascularly, initially with a stent covering the neck of the aneurysm to remodel it and later with embolization of the aneurysm sac using a microcatheter. RESULTS: Aneurysms of large vessels, such common carotid artery and subclavian artery, are at risk of rupture with devastating complications; endovascular management is considered a minimally invasive management option, with favorable results. CONCLUSION: The endovascular management of large vessel aneurysms using stents and microcatheters with embolization of the aneurysmal sac is a novel management option that achieves successful results.
ANTECEDENTES: Los aneurismas de la aorta ascendente son patologías poco frecuentes en la infancia, sobre todo en ausencia de enfermedades previas como el síndrome de Marfan. OBJETIVO: Dar a conocer la posibilidad del manejo endovascular exitoso de los aneurismas de grandes vasos, usando stent y micro catéter con embolización del saco aneurismático. MÉTODO: Presentamos el caso de una paciente de 10 años y 2 meses, previamente sana, en quien se documentó un pseudoaneurisma entre el origen de la arteria carótida común izquierda y la arteria subclavia izquierda, que logró manejarse de forma endovascular, inicialmente con un stent cubriendo el cuello del aneurisma con el fin de remodelarlo y posteriormente por medio de microcatéter se realizó embolización del saco del aneurisma con coils, con resultado exitoso. RESULTADOS: Los aneurismas de los grandes vasos, como la arteria carótida común y la arteria subclavia, tienen riesgo de ruptura con complicaciones devastadoras; el manejo endovascular se plantea como una opción poco invasiva de manejo, con resultados favorables. CONCLUSIÓN: El manejo de aneurismas de grandes vasos, por vía endovascular usando stent y microcatéter con embolización del saco aneurismático, es una opción novedosa de manejo que logra resultados exitosos.

The Neotropical otter (Lontra longicaudis) is a mustelid distributed geographically from Mexico to Argentina. Anomalous origins of the aortic arch branches are rarely reported in wild carnivorans. Therefore, this study aimed to report the anomalous branching of the aortic arch in one formaldehyde-fixed specimen of L. longicaudis. The aortic arch provided three branches: the bicarotid trunk and the left and right subclavian arteries. The latter passed dorsally to the esophagus toward the right side without a mark of compression at the esophagus. This is the first report of an anomalous origin of the right subclavian artery in L. longicaudis.

This study mapped definitions of shortened dental configurations and health outcomes employed in association studies. A scoping review was conducted using the PubMed/Medline, Scopus, Web of Science, SciELO and Cochrane databases. Two trained researchers selected studies and extracted data. Studies that investigated the association between shortened dental configurations (exposure) and person-centered outcomes (general and oral health) related to health behavior (dietary patterns). Clinical outcomes were classified according to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health and the International Classification of Diseases of the World Health Organization (WHO). Shortened dental configurations were defined as at least 20/21 teeth or the position of the teeth, including esthetics, dental occlusion and periodontal status (Eichner Index, Shortened Dental Arches, Functional Dentition Classification System, Posterior Occluding Pairs, Functional Tooth Units). The initial search resulted in 12,525 records in English, Portuguese and Spanish, 432 of which addressed the association of interest. General health (n = 203) and oral health (n = 201) were addressed in a similar number of studies. Most outcomes were related to general health (n = 184), the most frequent of which were endocrine, nutritional or metabolic diseases (n = 57) and mental functions (n = 26). Person-centered measures were addressed in 153 studies, most of which were about oral health and oral health-related quality of life (n = 62). Oral health outcomes were predominantly related to intake functions (n = 44) and diseases or disorders of the orofacial complex (n = 24). Dietary patterns (n = 43) and mortality (n = 38) were also studied. The cross-sectional design (n = 257) and non-probabilistic sampling (n = 218) were more frequent. The shortened dental configurations defined by the WHO were the most frequent in the studies (n = 206). The effects of shortened dental configurations have been investigated mainly in relation to endocrine, nutritional or metabolic diseases and measures of oral health-related quality of life. The findings point to a diversity of health outcomes assessed and substantial methodological variability.

OBJECTIVE: To compare tooth inclinations in different sagittal skeletal patterns and transverse maxillary relationships three-dimensionally. METHODS: A cross-sectional study carried out with 132 three-dimensional digital models in the complete permanent dentition divided into six groups (n=22); three groups with maxillary atresia: G1- skeletal class I, G2- skeletal class II and G3-skeletal class III; three groups without maxillary atresia: G4- skeletal class I; G5- skeletal class II and G6- skeletal class III. The comparison between the skeletal pattern was performed by the non-parametric tests of Kruskal Wallis and Dunn and between the groups by the non-parametric test of Mann Whitney. RESULTS: Subjects with skeletal class II and maxillary atresia had a greater lingual inclination of the maxillary teeth than those with class I and III; Subjects with skeletal class II without atresia had a less lingual inclination of the mandibular molars than the other classes (p<0.05). The maxillary premolars showed no variation in dental inclination with atresia, independent of the skeletal class in G1, G2, and G3 (p>0.05). The mandibular premolars showed that the groups without atresia G4, G5, and G6 presented no significant difference (p>0.05). Lower premolars in skeletal class III malocclusion individuals with atresia had a more negative inclination than the others. CONCLUSION: There is a difference in the inclination of posterior teeth between individuals with and without maxillary atresia and skeletal classes I, II, and III.

Resumo Contexto A arterialização do arco venoso dorsal do pé é uma técnica indicada em casos de isquemia crítica de membros inferiores sem leito distal adequado que possibilite tratamento convencional, como revascularização, angioplastia ou tratamento clínico. Objetivos O propósito do trabalho foi apresentar o resultado da arterialização do arco venoso do pé em 16 pacientes submetidos a essa técnica. Métodos Tratou-se de um estudo analítico descritivo retrospectivo transversal, baseado na revisão de prontuários de 16 pacientes submetidos à arterialização do arco venoso dorsal do pé para salvamento de membro, entre janeiro de 2016 a janeiro de 2021. Resultados Dos 16 pacientes submetidos à arterialização do arco venoso do pé, 25% (4) evoluíram para amputação maior durante a mesma internação, e 6,25% (1) pacientes evoluíram para amputação maior após 6 meses. Os demais pacientes (68,75%, 11) tiveram seus membros preservados, sendo que 10 foram submetidos a amputações menores (pododáctilos e antepé), e 1 paciente não necessitou de procedimento adicional. Conclusões A técnica de arterialização do arco venoso dorsal do pé deve ser considerada em casos selecionados. Trata-se de uma alternativa válida para a preservação do membro na impossibilidade de tratamento convencional.
Abstract Background Arterialization of the dorsal venous arch of the foot is a technique indicated in cases of critical lower limb ischemia that do not have a distal bed that is adequate to enable conventional treatment such as revascularization, angioplasty, or clinical treatment. Objectives The purpose of this study is to present the result of arterialization of the venous arch of the foot in 16 patients who underwent treatment with this technique. Methods This is a cross-sectional retrospective descriptive analytical study based on a review of the medical records of 16 patients who underwent arterialization of the dorsal venous arch of the foot for limb salvage from January 2016 to January 2021. Results Four (25%) of the 16 patients who underwent arterialization of the venous arch of the foot underwent a major amputation during the same hospital stay and one patient (6.25%) had a major amputation within 6 months. The other 11 patients (68.75%) had their limbs preserved, with 10 undergoing minor amputations (toes and forefoot) and one patient having no additional procedures. Conclusions We conclude that the technique of arterialization of the dorsal venous arch of the foot should be considered in selected cases. It is a valid alternative for limb salvage when conventional treatment is impossible.

Pork price fluctuations are closely related to the national economy and people's livelihoods in China. Based on the monthly pork price fluctuations in China from January 2011 to August 2022, this study uses ARCH family models to assess the characteristics and laws of these fluctuations in China. The pork price fluctuations show obvious clustering, with external shock information from the previous month affecting the pork price in the following period; the pork market price is characterized by risk compensation, with the high risk of pork supply driving the pork price up. In addition, the pork price fluctuations are characterized by asymmetry, with a greater impact of good than of bad news on the pork price. Due to the pork industry' low entry threshold and the existence of sunk costs, positive information on the pork market has a stronger impact on price fluctuations than negative information. To guide pork supply, we recommend improving monitoring and early-warning mechanisms in the pork market to identify the pork price volatility threshold and measure the price volatility. In addition, price index insurance products should be constantly strengthened, with different types of insurance products being offered to meeting the insurance demand of various sectors in the pig meat supply chain.
As flutuações do preço da carne suína estão intimamente relacionadas à economia nacional e à subsistência das pessoas. Com base na flutuação mensal do preço da carne suína na China de a janeiro de 2011 a agosto de 2022, este estudo usa os modelos da família ARCH para avaliar as características e as leis das flutuações do preço da carne suína na China. Nossos estudos mostraram que as flutuações do preço da carne suína apresentam agrupamento óbvio, e as informações de choque externo do mês anterior irão interferir no preço da carne suína no período seguinte. O preço de mercado da carne suína tem as características de "risco de recompensa", e o "alto risco" do preço da carne suína. Observa-se uma tendência de alta, mostrando que as oscilações do preço da carne suína são caracterizadas por assimetria. Devido ao baixo limiar de entrada da indústria de suínos e à existência de "sinking cost", as informações positivas sobre o mercado de suínos têm um impacto mais forte nas flutuações de preços do que as informações negativas. Recomenda-se melhorar o monitoramento do mercado de carne suína e o mecanismo de alerta precoce, esclarecer e identificar o limite de volatilidade do preço da carne suína e melhorar o sistema de seguro financeiro da indústria suína.
