ABSTRACT
To describe the implementation of a standardized code system for notification of relevant expected or incidental findings in imaging exams and use of an automated textual mining tool of radiological report narratives, created to facilitate directing patients to specific lines of care, reducing the waiting time for interventions, consultations, and minimizing delays to treatment. We report our 12-month initial experience with the process. A standardized code was attached to every radiology report when a relevant finding was observed. On a daily basis, the notifications was sent to a dedicated medical team to review the notified abnormality and decide a proper action. Between October 1, 2020, and September 30, 2021, 40,296 sectional examinations (CT and MR scans) were evaluated in 35,944 patients. The main findings reported were calcified plaques on the trunk of the left coronary artery or trunk like, pulmonary nodule/mass and suspected liver disease. Data of follow-up was available in 10,019 patients. The age ranged from 24 to 101 years (mean of 71.3 years) and 6,626 were female (66.1%). In 2,548 patients a complementary study or procedure was indicated, and 3,300 patients were referred to a specialist. Customized database searches looking for critical or relevant findings may facilitate patient referral to specific care lines, reduce the waiting time for interventions or consultations, and minimize delays to treatment.

Taro is important for its nutritional content, medicinal use, and bioethanol production. The aim of the present study was to compare different semi-automated bioreactors (SABs) during in vitro multiplication of C. esculenta. The SABs used were temporary immersion bioreactors (TIBs), SETIS™ bioreactors and ebb-and-flow bioreactors; semi-solid culture medium was used as a control treatment. At 30 d of culture, different developmental variables, determination of chlorophyll, stomatal content, and survival percentage during acclimatization were evaluated. SABs increased the shoot multiplication rate relative to the semi-solid medium; however, the SETIS™ bioreactor showed the highest shoot production, with 36 shoots per explant, and the highest chlorophyll content. The stomatal index was higher in the semi-solid medium compared to the SABs, while the percentage of closed stomata was higher in the SABs than in the semi-solid culture medium. The survival rate during acclimatization showed no differences among the culture systems assessed, obtaining survival rates higher than 99%. In conclusion, the SETIS™ bioreactor showed the highest multiplication rate; however, other bioreactor alternatives are available for semi-automation and cost reduction for micropropagation of C. esculenta.
ABSTRACT
The present study aimed to evaluate the fermentation kinetics and degradation rates of Cynodon grasses estimated by semi-automated technique of in vitro gas production. The forages were: Coastcross, Tifton 85 and Tifton 68. Pressure readings were taken at 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 19, 24, 30, 36, 48, 72 and 96 hours. Dry matter degradability (DMD) was obtained by the percentage of dry matter (DM) remaining after 0, 6, 12, 24, 48 and 96 hours of fermentation. Tifton 85 showed a higher total gas production (p 0.05). Higher fermentation rates were found at the beginning of fermentation followed by subsequent reduction (p 0.05) over time. Tifton 85 and Tifton 68 showed higher values (p 0.05) for soluble fraction, potentially degradable insoluble fraction, insoluble fraction, potential and effective degradability of dry matter in relation to Coastcross grass. Higher gas production during in vitro incubation of dry matter was observed for Tifton 85 g.

The dry matter digestibility and the fermentation kinetics of three pearl millet genotypes silages (BRS-1501, NPM-1, and CMS-3) were estimated by the semi-automated in vitro gas production technique, using a completely randomized blocks design in a split plot arrangement. The genotypes means were compared by SNK test (P<0.05) and fermentation kinetics parameters estimated by regression of gas production on time using the France model. The greater cumulative gas production from 24 hours on was obtained by BRS-1501 genotype silage. The dry matter degradability (DMD) values at 96 hours of incubation were 53.9 percent for BRS-1501, 51.7 percent for NPM-1, and 49.1 percent for CMS-3 silage. The lowest DMD (P<0.05) among the studied genotypes silages was observed for CMS-3 silage. The maximum potential of gas production ranged from 145.18ml/g of dry matter for CMS-3 genotype silage to 155.02ml/g of dry matter for BRS-1501 silage. The BRS-1501 genotype silage showed the highest potential of gas production and effective degradabilities.

The objective of this work was to demonstrate the first proceeding to install the semi-automated in vitro gas production technique in different laboratories. Therefore the relationship between volume of gas produced (V) and pressure generated (P) obtained manually by incubation of different substrates in fermentation bottles, should be estimated. Cynodon dactylon hay (tifton 85), Brachiaria brizanta (brachiarão), Neonotonia wightii (soja perene) and silages from four sorghum genotypes were incubated and generated 1036 values of P and V. The equation relating V and P was: V = -0.004 (s.e. 0.06) + 4.43P (s.e. 0.043) + 0.051P2 (s.e. 0.007), R2= 0.99. The equation allowed the installation of the semi-automated in vitro gas production technique at the Animal Nutrition Laboratory of the Animal Science Department of the Veterinary School of UFMG.(AU)
