ABSTRACT
Globally, one of the major trends is the development of translational medicine. The traditional hospital structure could not meet the demands of translational medicine development any longer and to explore a novel hospital structure is imperative. Following the times, China proposed and implemented a development strategy for a first-class modern research-oriented hospital. To establish a research-oriented hospital has become an important strategy to guide the scientific development of high-quality medical institutions and to advance translational medicine development. To facilitate translational medicine by developing research-oriented hospital, the Chinese Research Hospital Association (CRHA) has been established, which provides service of medicine, talents cultivation, scientific research and clinical teaching and covers areas of theoretical research, academic exchange, translational medicine, talents training and practice guiding. On the whole, research-oriented hospital facilitated translational medicine by developing interdisciplinary platform, training core competencies in clinical and translational research, providing financial support of translational research, and hosting journals on translational medicine, etc.

This article reviews the experience of the organizations representing the private healthcare industry in Argentina in their request to improve the quality of care. In it, the author highlights how their collaboration with the PAHO/WHO in the nineties led to the drafting of a Quality Accreditation Handbook, as well as its circulation in most of the countries in the area. Ten years on, the new challenges are analyzed in order to achieve better quality fro all, without limits. With these challenges in mind, the study presents the five programmes being developed at present, by the private health sector as a way of collaborating with society and the government in its progress towards the nationalization of resources and achieving a fairer system and better quality in healthcare.

Introducción: la Asociación Americana de Hospitales aprobó desde 1973 la carta que contiene los derechos de los pacientes. Objetivo: por lo que el propósito de este estudio fue identificar el conocimiento que tienen los pacientes sobre sus derechos mediante la aplicación de una encuesta con 21 preguntas. El análisis estadístico fue descriptivo. Resultados: 32% de los pacientes conocen sus derechos como paciente hospitalizado, el resto no conoce sus derechos, pero manifestaron que siete de los doce derechos si son respetados por el personal. Conclusiones: aunque la mayoría de los pacientes desconocen sus derechos, mencionaron recibir atención médica oportuna, información respecto a su padecimiento y atención con consideración y respeto por parte del personal de salud.
Introduction: the American Association of Hospitals approved consequently from 1973 a letter that contains the rights of the patients. Objective: the objective of this investigation was to identify of knowledge that you/they have 100 hospitalized patients by means of application of a survey of 21 questions focused before to the rights mentioned whose statistical analysis was descriptive. Results: 32% patients know their rights as hospitalized patients, 68% doesn't know them, however, they manifested that seven of the 1 2 these are applied by the personnel. Conclusions: although most of the patients ignore their rights, they mentioned to receive opportune medical attention, the doctor maintains them informed regarding the illness that they suffer and they are assisted with consideration and respect on the part of the personnel of health.

Members in a Catholic multi-institutional healthcare system that has been established as a public juridic person know their missions will be carried on even if they must leave the healthcare field. The establishment of a public juridic person was a goal of the Catholic Health Corporation (CHC), Omaha, since it began in 1980. The juridic person was to be named Catholic Health Care Federation (CHCF) in order to distinguish the canonical juridic person from the civil law corporation. It took many years to determine which competent authority was the most appropriate to grant CHCF public juridic status. The Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (CICLSAL) was deemed the appropriate authority. CICLSAL established CHCF as a public juridic person on June 8, 1991. CHCF's member religious institutes are the same as CHC's. But CHCF is the canonical sponsor for two owned facilities and manages a third community-owned facility. The religious institutes remain the sole canonical sponsor for their own facilities; however, they jointly sponsor three facilities through CHCF. Public juridic person status is a way for CHCF to continue Christ's healing mission.

Outcomes management is most deeply rooted in clinical issues that interrelate concerns about quality with cost effectiveness of care. This is ground-breaking activity from many perspectives. Researchers must work more closely with clinicians and decision makers than ever before. Hospital executives must contend with many new external data demands and determine how to operationalize outcomes management programs within their institutions. There are new roles for clinician executives who act as change agents within health care organizations, while data on outcomes of care can lead to increased bargaining power among purchasers of services. In this article we discuss the major implications this new focus on managing outcomes is having on researchers, hospital executives, clinicians, and the purchasers of health care services.
