ABSTRACT

The aim of the study was to assess the impact of cytoflavin and bioflavin therapy on the dynamics of clinical and psychophysiological status of patients with Osteochondrosis. 150 patients with osteochondrosis of a backbone were investigated. The patients were divided into two groups using method of randomization: the main group - 75 patients - and control group -75 patients. All patients received a standard treatment (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, myorelaxants, chondroprotectors, as well as physiotherapy). The main group in addition to standard treatment received biofeedback therapy and cytoflavin. The results showed that cytoflavin and biofeedback therapy significantly enhanced the positive effect of standard treatment and significantly increased the quality of life of patients. It is recommended to treat elderly patients with neurological complications of spinal osteochondrosis with Cytoflavin in combination with biofeedback therapy Before prescribing biofeedback therapy and Cytoflavin it is necessary to take into account a number of positive and negative predictors of their effectiveness in reducing severity of pain syndrome.

ABSTRACT

Two young adult male castrated German Shepherd Dogs were referred for evaluation of intermittent episodes of hindlimb pain. Physical examination suggested lumbosacral stenosis, and plain radiographs and computed tomography revealed lesions consistent with sacral osteochondrosis. One dog had osteochondral fragments removed surgically; the other was managed conservatively. The surgically treated dog had complete resolution of clinical signs whereas the dog managed conservatively had repeated episodes of mild pain and received one short course of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication in 18 months. Sacral osteochondrosis has not been previously reported in Australia.

ABSTRACT

The article deals with an investigation of therapeutic efficiency combined with applications of biological preparations and special medical-improving gymnastic exercises at treatment of a vertebral cervical osteochondrosis on the one hand, traditional means on the other hand. 76 patients aged 31-62 have taken part in the given research. The basic group was made by 47 patients and the control group - by 29. The patients of the basic group applied a special complex of medical-improving gymnastic exercises, and also paravertebral injections of biological preparations Traumeel S, Neuralgo-Rheum-Injeel. The patients of the control group received traditional therapy of a vertebral osteochondrosis. Injections of Voltaren (Diclofenac) intramuscularly, MIG400 (Ibuprophen) tablets, phonophorez with Indometacin ointment, a traditional complex of physiotherapy exercises. Duration of the treatment in all groups has made 28 days. Obtained data testify that by the end of treatment full knocking over of a pain syndrome in the basic group is noted at 71,2 % of patients, in control group only in 41,4 % of patients the pains have completely disappeared in a cervical spine. Thus, therapy by biological preparations in a combination to a complex of special medical-improving gymnastic exercises allows to reduce terms of knocking over of sharp clinical displays of an osteochondrosis of a cervical spine, to raise efficiency of restoration of sensitive, vascular, muscular-tonic frustration, and also allows to avoid neuro-surgical intervention at patients with hernias interspine disks.
