RESUMEN

Hybrid Nano fluid has emerged to be an important field of study due to its better thermal performance compared to other Nano fluids. The problem of carbon nanotubes rotating between two stretchable discs while suspended in water is investigated in this research. Due to numerous uses of this problem, such as metal mining, drawing plastic films, and cooling continuous filaments, this problem is essential to industry. Considerations here include suction/injection, heat radiation, and the Darcy-Forchheimer scheme with convective boundary conditions. The partial differential equations are reduced to ordinary differential equations by using appropriate transformation. To examine the approximate solution validation, training and testing procedures are interpreted and the performance is verified through error histogram and mean square error results. To describe the behavior of flow quantities, several tabular and graphical representations of a variety of physical characteristics of importance are presented and discussed in detail. The basic aim of this research is to examine the behaviour of carbon nanotubes (nanoparticles) between stretchable disks while considering the heat generation/absorption parameter by using the Levenberg-Marquardt technique of artificial neural network. Heat transfer rate is accelerated by a decrease in velocity and temperature and an increase in the nanoparticle volume fraction parameter which is a significant finding of the current study.

In 1961, the Journal of Religion and Health (JORH) commenced publishing articles that examined modern religious and spiritual philosophy in relation to psychology and health. The year 2021 marked the 60th anniversary of the founding of JORH. This research paper retrospectively analyses the journal's content. It provides insight into JORH's publication trends, citation records, prominent themes, authors' collaboration and its aggregate contribution to the field of religion and health. Over time, the number of publications, citations and downloads of JORH articles have substantially increased, as has the journals prominence and diverse contributions to the study of religion, spirituality and health.

Refrigeration based on the electrocaloric effect can offer many advantages over conventional cooling technologies in terms of efficiency, size, weight, and power source. The discovery of ferroelectric and antiferroelectric properties in fluorite-based materials in 2011 has led to diverse applications related to memory (e.g., ferroelectric tunnel junctions, nonvolatile memory, and field-effect transistors) and energy fields (e.g., energy storage and harvesting, electrocaloric refrigeration, and infrared detection). Fluorite-based materials exhibit several properties not shared by most conventional materials (such as in terms of compatibility with complementary metal-oxide semiconductors and 3D nanostructures, deposition thickness at the nanometer scale, and simple composition). Here, the electrocaloric refrigeration properties of fluorite-based ferroelectric/antiferroelectric materials are reviewed by focusing on the advantages of ZrO2 - and HfO2 -based materials (e.g., relative to conventional perovskite- and polymer-based counterparts). Finally, the recent progress made in this research field are also discussed along with its future perspectives.

This article assesses the status of the solid waste management system (SWMS) in Karachi, the largest city of Pakistan, using the material flow analysis approach, a widely applied method in waste management (WM) studies. It involves a systematic assessment of the material flows of solid waste under the current WM system. A material flow diagram is developed to visualize the input and output waste flows. This study shows the quantification and identification of municipal solid waste (MSW) flow for the year 2019, from the point of generation to the end-use and disposal. Results show that the MSW generation increased from 10,435 to 15,600 metric tonnes per day (TPD) between 2017 to 2019. Approximately, 75% of the waste generated is collected: formally (50%); and informally (25%). The material recovery is low, accounting for only 26.28% of the total waste. There is no official material recovery and recycling facility. Therefore, material recovery solely depends on the informal sector. Results show that 70% of the daily waste ends up in landfills, which is 3120 TPD more than the formally collected waste. This estimated waste of 3120 TPD flows in either due to disposal activities of the backlogged waste or informally collected waste. Overall, Karachi's SWMS performs poorly with a significant need for improvement. This study recommends adopting integrated WM approaches and inclusion of the informal sector to ensure the affordability and sustainability of the WM system.

In this work, we prepared Cu2FeSnS4 (CFTS) microspheres via solvothermal method and studied their photocatalytic performance towards the degradation of organic pollutants. With increasing solvothermal temperature from 160 °C to 180 °C, the morphology of CFTS changes from irregular 2D to hierarchical 3D shapes. Hierarchical 3D CFTS microspheres packed with 2D nanosheets were successfully prepared at 180 °C. During the solvothermal process, octadecyl amine (ODA) acts as a capping agent to prevent the aggregation of particles, while L-cystine functions as an environmentally friendly sulfur source and complexing reagent. The large surface area and mesoporous structure of the as-prepared 3D hierarchical CFTS microspheres provide more active sites, enhance visible light absorption and promote charge separation and transfer, leading to the improved photodegradation performance for RhB and MB compared to the samples prepared at the temperature lower than 180 °C. This work provides a simple and low-cost method for the synthesis of 3D hierarchical CFTS towards photocatalytic applications.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Historically, overall outcomes for patients with high-grade subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) have been poor. Generally, between physicians, either reluctance to treat, or selectivity in treating such patients has been the paradigm. Recent studies have shown that early and aggressive care leads to significant improvement in survival rates and favorable outcomes of grade V SAH patients. With advancements in both neurocritical care and end-of-life care, non-treatment or selective treatment of grade V SAH patients is rarely justified. Current paradigm shifts towards early and aggressive care in such cases may lead to improved outcomes for many more patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We performed a detailed review of the current literature regarding neurointensive management strategies in high-grade SAH, discussing multiple aspects. We discussed the neurointensive care management protocols for grade V SAH patients. RESULTS: Acutely, intracranial pressure control is of utmost importance with external ventricular drain placement, sedation, optimization of cerebral perfusion pressure, osmotherapy and hyperventilation, as well as cardiopulmonary support through management of hypotension and hypertension. CONCLUSIONS: Advancements of care in SAH patients make it unethical to deny treatment to poor Hunt and Hess grade patients. Early and aggressive treatment results in a significant improvement in survival rate and favorable outcome in such patients.

This study examines the influence of COVID-19 on unpaid leave, the direct impacts of psychological contract breach on organizational distrust and turnover intention, and their indirect impact through emotional exhaustion. The study used partial least squares to analyze the data set of 238 questionnaires from hospitality establishments. Results indicate a significant direct positive impact of psychological contract breach on organizational distrust and favorable indirect effects through emotional exhaustion. However, psychological contract breach had no direct effects on turnover intention. The study has equally found the positive effect of organizational distrust on turnover intention. The research provides both theoretical and practical implications and suggests areas for further studies.

Introduction Re-explorations after open-heart surgery are often required if the patient is bleeding or shows features of cardiovascular instability and does not improve with conservative measures. Our study aims to determine whether timely re-exploration of patients who are bleeding has an impact on the morbidity and mortality of the patients. Methods A retrospective analysis of 75 patients that underwent open-heart surgery and subsequently underwent chest re-exploration for excessive bleeding between March 2018 and March 2020. Patients who were reopened post-op for indications other than excessive bleeding were excluded. Results A total number of cases were 700, out of which 75 (9.3%) patients were reopened, as compared to the literature, which shows worldwide 2-11% being reopened. Post-operative drain output was 1000ml to 1500ml in 47 (62.7%) and more than 1500ml in 28 (37.3%) patients before they were reopened. In 67 (89.3%) patients, three to five units of blood were transfused, and in eight (10.7%) patients, more than five units of blood were transfused. We believe our mortality in the reopened patients was low, because of timely intervention and early re-exploration, and is probably the reason why our figures land in a higher range (2-11%) of reopened cases (9.3%). Reopening time was less than five hours in 49 (65.3%) patients and less than 10 hours in 26 (34.7%) patients in our study. We tried to minimize the loss of blood and re-explored the patients before they lose excessive blood, the average time for reopening in our study was less than 10 hours. The average intensive care unit (ICU) stay was 4.2 days (range three to six days). Wound infections were reported in one of three patients. There was no mortality in these patients. Surgical site of bleeding was identified in 54 (72%) patients and no particular site was found in 21 (28%) patients. Suggesting that it is common to have a surgical bleeder than coagulopathy induced bleeding in post-cardiac surgery patients Conclusions We believe our low mortality (0%) is due to early reopening in patients who are bleeding excessively after cardiac surgery.

Voluntary repatriation has the utmost importance in the contemporary understanding of refugee protection. Voluntary repatriation in safety and with dignity is considered to be the most desirable and durable solutions for refugees. However, voluntary repatriation represents increasingly daunting challenges to the refugees, the governments of both home and host countries, and implementing partners. The repatriation planning of Rohingya refugees is widely criticized as being profoundly premature and dangerous. Most of the refugees are set to return to destroyed villages where food and shelter are inadequate, ecosystem services overstretched, livelihood opportunities marginal and the physical environment unfit for human habitation. Investigating the view and perspectives of the refugees on the factors that influence their intention to return can inform the implementing actors to secure those conditions and ensure a durable solution. Here, we identify the conditions that influence the decisions by Rohingya refugees in protracted displacement regarding return to Myanmar. This research also addresses the dual challenges of repatriation and sustainable post-conflict reconstruction, and, more specifically, provides a framework on how to integrate ecosystem services in the repatriation process.

This study details how psychological, financial, and social factors shape employee deviant interpersonal behaviors during a pandemic. Data were collected with a survey of 372 front-line employees of hotels and analyzed with PLS-SEM. The findings showed social disconnectedness and perceived risk of unemployment leads to perceived isolation, which further creates depression in employees. The findings also showed that depression is positively related to employee deviance. Financial strain is a major cause of perceived isolation, depression, and deviant behaviors among front-line employees. Results also proved that social support reduces fear of isolation, depression, and employee deviance. This study provides guidelines that hotels need to understand the psychological stance of employees and design policies to overcome employee perceived fears and psychological disorders.

Road Traffic Accident (RTA) injuries pose a public health challenge which significantly impacts the human capital development. The Punjab Economic Research Institute (PERI) conducted a study to assess the frequency, causes of trauma injuries, distribution and need and gap analysis of trauma centers in the province of Punjab. For gap/situational analysis, information was extracted through a structured questionnaire from randomly selected 8 District Head Quarters hospitals, 6 Teaching hospitals and 8 independent trauma centers. According to the data of Rescue 1122, 70% of RTA injuries involved the age group 11-40 years. In 295589(63.26%) of the RTA cases the vehicle involved was a motorbike. The major RTA injuries were leg fractures 71699 (16.44%) and head injuries 44738(10.26%). Over speeding 159977(44%) and careless driving 121545 (33.35%) were the major causes of RTAs. Noted was a shortage and mismatch between human resources and equipment in the trauma treatment facilities. Inequality was also found in distribution of trauma care units. Integrated and fully equipped trauma care system along with the establishment of trauma centers in places of high accidents' frequency is recommended. Strict implementation of road traffic safety laws is mandatory.

RESUMEN

As countries progressively embrace the legalization of both medicinal and recreational cannabis, there remains a significant knowledge gap when it comes to the perioperative uses of cannabis, as well as the management of cannabis users. This review summarizes the information available on the subject based on existing published studies. Articles outlining the physiological changes occurring in the human body during acute and chronic use of cannabis (outside the context of anesthesia) are also taken into consideration as understanding these changes allows a more calculated approach to better anticipate patients' needs in the perioperative setting. Common questions facing the anesthesiologist at each phase of the perioperative period will be addressed and a systematic approach to the effect of cannabinoids on various organ systems will also be presented. Issues unique to cannabis use such as cannabis withdrawal syndrome and alterations in post-operative pain processing will also be discussed. To date, the number of studies available for guidance is small and study designs are markedly heterogenous, if not limited, making conclusions challenging. While the currently available information can assist in making decisions, further studies of larger scale are eagerly anticipated to help guide future patient care.
