RESUMEN

A genomic study was conducted to uncover the selection signatures in sheep that show extremely significant differences in growth traits under the same breed, age in months, nutrition level, and management practices. Hu sheep from Gansu Province and Gangba sheep from the Tibet Autonomous Region in China were selected. We collected whole-genome data from 40 sheep individuals (24 Hu sheep and 16 Gangba sheep), through whole-genome sequencing. Selection signals were analyzed using parameters such as FST, π ratio, and Tajima's D. We have identified several candidate genes that have undergone strong selection, particularly those associated with growth traits. Specifically, five growth-related genes were identified in both the Hu sheep group (HDAC1, MYH7B, LCK, ACVR1, GNAI2) and the Gangba sheep group (RBBP8, ACSL3, FBXW11, PLAT, CRB1). Additionally, in a genomic region strongly selected in both the Hu and Gangba sheep groups (Chr 22: 51,425,001-51,500,000), the growth-associated gene CYP2E1 was identified, further highlighting the genetic factors influencing growth characteristics in these breeds. This study analyzes the genetic basis for significant differences in sheep phenotypes, identifies candidate genes related to sheep growth traits, lays the foundation for molecular genetic breeding in sheep, and accelerates the genetic improvement in livestock.

Vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) is a highly suitable technology for energy storage and conversion in the application of decoupling energy and power generation. However, the sluggish reaction kinetics of redox couples is one of the bottlenecks hindering the commercialization of VFFBs. Developing efficient electrode is a promising method to improve the battery performance. In this work, a reduced graphene oxide/Mxene hybrid-decorated graphite felt (rGO/Mxene@GF) is designed to facilitate the kinetics of redox reaction. The electrocatalytic activity and mass transfer of the prepared electrode are investigated through experiment and simulation methods. The results indicate that the favorable mass transfer and the synergistic effect between rGO and Ti3C2Tx Mxene remarkably improve the performance of electrode. The flow cell with rGO/Mxene@GF delivers a good stability up to 100 cycles with a coulombic, voltage, and energy efficiency of 91.6%, 82.7%, and 75.8%, respectively, at a current density of 80 mA cm-2. These findings suggest that the as-prepared rGO/Mxene@GF holds a good application potential in VRFB and provides a promising approach to design efficient electrode for electrochemical devices.

Sphingolipids are components of plant membranes, and their heterogeneous distribution gives different membrane systems distinct properties. For example, glycosyl inositol phosphoceramides (GIPCs), 1 major type of sphingolipids, aggregate in the outer layer of the plasma membrane (PM), as well as in extracellular vesicles (EVs), including the small (30 to 100 nm) EVs termed exosomes. How these sphingolipids are sorted and trafficked is not clear. In this work, we report that Arabidopsis thaliana TETRASPANIN8 (TET8) acts as a sphingolipid carrier and thus regulates the export of GIPCs from the Golgi apparatus. TET8 recognized the coat protein complex I (COPI) subunit γ2-COPI and moved to its proper location in the PM; this recognition required the TET8 C-terminal tail. Deleting the C-terminal tail of TET8 largely restricted its roles in GIPC transport and endosomal trafficking. Further, we show that TET8 affects EV secretion in association with GIPCs. Thus, our findings shed light on GIPC transport and the molecular machinery involved in EV biogenesis.

Intelligent Transportation has seen significant advancements with Deep Learning and the Internet of Things, making Traffic Signal Control (TSC) research crucial for reducing congestion, travel time, emissions, and energy consumption. Reinforcement Learning (RL) has emerged as the primary method for TSC, but centralized learning poses communication and computing challenges, while distributed learning struggles to adapt across intersections. This paper presents a novel approach using Federated Learning (FL)-based RL for TSC. FL integrates knowledge from local agents into a global model, overcoming intersection variations with a unified agent state structure. To endow the model with the capacity to globally represent the TSC task while preserving the distinctive feature information inherent to each intersection, a segment of the RL neural network is aggregated to the cloud, and the remaining layers undergo fine-tuning upon convergence of the model training process. Extensive experiments demonstrate reduced queuing and waiting times globally, and the successful scalability of the proposed model is validated on a real-world traffic network in Monaco, showing its potential for new intersections.

Muscle development is a complex biological process involving an intricate network of multiple factor interactions. Through the analysis of transcriptome data and molecular biology confirmation, this study aims to reveal the molecular mechanism underlying sheep embryonic skeletal muscle development. The RNA sequencing of embryos was conducted, and microRNA (miRNA)-mediated competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks were constructed. qRT-PCR, siRNA knockdown, CCK-8 assay, scratch assay, and dual luciferase assay were used to carry out gene function identification. Through the analysis of the ceRNA networks, three miRNAs (miR-493-3p, miR-3959-3p, and miR-410-5p) and three genes (TEAD1, ZBTB34, and POGLUT1) were identified. The qRT-PCR of the DE-miRNAs and genes in the muscle tissues of sheep showed that the expression levels of the TEAD1 gene and miR-410-5p were correlated with the growth rate. The knockdown of the TEAD1 gene by siRNA could significantly inhibit the proliferation of sheep primary embryonic myoblasts, and the expression levels of SLC1A5, FoxO3, MyoD, and Pax7 were significantly downregulated. The targeting relationship between miR-410-5p and the TEAD1 gene was validated by a dual luciferase assay, and miR-410-5p can significantly downregulate the expression of TEAD1 in sheep primary embryonic myoblasts. We proved the regulatory relationship between miR-410-5p and the TEAD1 gene, which was related to the proliferation of sheep embryonic myoblasts. The results provide a reference and molecular basis for understanding the molecular mechanism of embryonic muscle development.

OBJECTIVES: This thesis aims to explore the relationship between tea consumption and ankle-brachial index (ABI) and further studies the relationship between tea consumption and lower extremity atherosclerosis. METHODS: This is a cross-sectional, epidemiological survey of 17,373 subjects selected from the staff of Kailuan Group who had come to Kailuan General Hospital for a health examination from January 2016 to December 2017. Tea consumption was obtained by questionnaires. ABI was measured using an automated analyzer. The other data, such as age, gender, body mass index (BMI), and so on, was collected on the same day of the health examination results. The relationship between tea drinking habits and ABI was studied using logistic regression and multivariate linear regression analysis. RESULTS: Among the 17,373 analyzed subjects, the difference in age, gender, BMI, heart rate (HR), systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), uric acid (UA), C-reactive protein (CRP), fasting blood-glucose (Fbg), and ABI was statistically significant in the tea-drinking group and the nontea-drinking group (p < 0.05). Multiple logistic regression models revealed that tea consumption was a positive predictor for ABI (odds ratio (OR) = 0.782, confidence interval (CI), 0.615-0.994) (p < 0.05). Multivariate linear regression analysis of the ABI value showed that frequent tea-drinking has a positive correlation with the ABI value (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The higher tea consumption is significantly associated with higher ABI which means less risk for lower extremity atherosclerosis.

Growth traits are influential factors that significantly affects the development of the sheep industry. A previous TMT proteomic analysis found that a key protein in the HIF signaling pathway, ARNT, may influence embryonic skeletal muscle growth and development in sheep. The purpose of this study was to better understand the association between the polymorphisms of ARNT and growth traits of sheep, and the potential function of ARNT. Real-time qPCR (qRT-PCR) of ARNT was carried out to compare its expression in different developmental stages of the muscle tissues and primary myoblasts in the Hu, Chinese merino, and Gangba sheep. The genetic variance of ARNT was detected using the Illumina Ovine SNP 50 K and 600 K BeadChip in the Hu and Ujimqin sheep populations, respectively. The CDS sequence of the ARNT gene was cloned in the Hu sheep using PCR technology. Finally, bioinformatic analytical methods were applied to characterize the genes and their hypothetical protein products. The qRT-PCR results showed that the ARNT gene was expressed significantly in the Chinese merino embryo after 85 gestation days (D85) (p < 0.05). Additionally, after the sheep were born, the expression of ARNT was significant at the weaning stage of the Hu sheep (p < 0.01). However, there was no difference in the Gangba sheep.In addition, six SNP loci were screened using 50 K and 600 K BeadChip. We found a significant association between rs413597480 A > G and the Hu sheep weight at weaning and backfat thickness in the 5-month-old sheep (p < 0.05), and four SNP loci (rs162298018 G > C, rs159644025 G > A, rs421351865 G > A, and rs401758103 A > G) were also associated with growth traits in the Ujimqin sheep (p < 0.05). Interestingly, we found that a G > C mutation at 1948 bp in the cloned ARNT CDS sequence of the Hu sheep was the same locus mutation as rs162298018 G > C identified using the 600 K BeadChip, which resulted in a nonconservative missense point mutation, leading to a change from proline to alanine and altering the number of DNA, protein-binding sites, and the α-helix of the ARNT protein. There was a strong linkage disequilibrium between rs162298018 G > C and rs159644025 G > A, and the ARNT protein was conserved among the goat, Hu sheep, and Texel sheep. And, we propose that a putative molecular marker for growth and development in sheep may be the G > C mutation at 1948 bp in the CDS region of the ARNT gene. Our study systematically analyzed the expression, structure, and function of the ARNT gene and its encoded proteins in sheep. This provides a basis for future studies of the regulatory mechanisms of the ARNT gene.

As relatively new members of the non-coding RNA family, circRNAs play important roles in a variety of biological processes. However, the temporal expression pattern and the function of circRNAs during sheep skeletal muscle development remains unclear. This study aimed to identify circRNAs related to sheep skeletal muscle development and explore their roles in myoblast proliferation. The circRNA expression profiles of longissimus dorsi of sheep from F90, L30, and A3Y were obtained by the RNA-seq method. The function and mechanisms of the novel circCHRNG in muscle satellite cell proliferation were explored using CCK-8 assay, Western blot, qPCR, and dual-luciferase reporter assay. We identified 12,375 circRNAs, including 476, 133, and 233 DEcircRNAs found among three comparative groups. KEGG results showed that DEcircRNAs were enriched in muscle contraction, the regulation of cell proliferation, and the AMPK, insulin, and PI3K-Akt signaling pathways. Notably, a novel circRNA, termed circRNA CHRNG, acts as a miR-133 sponge to promote skeletal muscle satellite cell proliferation. Our study provides a systematic description of circRNAs of ovine skeletal muscle across fetal, lamb, and adult stages. GO and KEGG analyses showed that DEcircRNAs were enriched in multiple pathways associated with muscle development, such as the PI3K-Akt and AMPK signaling pathways. In addition, we propose that circCHRNG acts as a miR-133 sponge to upregulate the expression levels of SRF and MEF2A, thereby promoting myoblast proliferation.

RESUMEN

Internet of Vehicles (IoV) technology has been attracting great interest from both academia and industry due to its huge potential impact on improving driving experiences and enabling better transportation systems. While a large number of interesting IoV applications are expected, it is more challenging to design an efficient IoV system compared with conventional Internet of Things (IoT) applications due to the mobility of vehicles and complex road conditions. We discuss existing studies about enabling collaborative intelligence in IoV systems by focusing on collaborative communications, collaborative computing, and collaborative machine learning approaches. Based on comparison and discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of recent studies, we point out open research issues and future research directions.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by SARS-CoV-2, has induced a worldwide pandemic since early 2020. COVID-19 causes pulmonary inflammation, secondary pulmonary fibrosis (PF); however, there are still no effective treatments for PF. The present study aimed to explore the inhibitory effect of dihydroartemisinin (DHA) on pulmonary inflammation and PF, and its molecular mechanism. Morphological changes and collagen deposition were analyzed using hematoxylin-eosin staining, Masson staining, and the hydroxyproline content. DHA attenuated early alveolar inflammation and later PF in a bleomycin-induced rat PF model, and inhibited the expression of interleukin (IL)-1ß, IL-6, tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα), and chemokine (C-C Motif) Ligand 3 (CCL3) in model rat serum. Further molecular analysis revealed that both pulmonary inflammation and PF were associated with increased transforming growth factor-ß1 (TGF-ß1), Janus activated kinase 2 (JAK2), and signal transducer and activator 3(STAT3) expression in the lung tissues of model rats. DHA reduced the inflammatory response and PF in the lungs by suppressing TGF-ß1, JAK2, phosphorylated (p)-JAK2, STAT3, and p-STAT3. Thus, DHA exerts therapeutic effects against bleomycin-induced pulmonary inflammation and PF by inhibiting JAK2-STAT3 activation. DHA inhibits alveolar inflammation, and attenuates lung injury and fibrosis, possibly representing a therapeutic candidate to treat PF associated with COVID-19.

Furmonertinib was designed for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with EGFR T790M mutation. In this study, we investigated the metabolic disposition and mass balance in humans and tissue distribution in rats. After a single oral administration of 97.9 µCi/81.5 mg [14C]-furmonertinib mesylate to six healthy male volunteers, the absorption process of furmonertinib was fast with a tmax of total plasma radioactivity at 0.75 h. Afterward, furmonertinib was extensively metabolized, with the parent drug and active metabolite AST5902 accounting for 1.68% and 0.97% of total radioactivity in plasma. The terminal t1/2 of total radioactivity in plasma was as long as 333 h, suggesting that the covalent binding of drug-related substances to plasma proteins was irreversible to a great extent. The most abundant metabolites identified in feces were desmethyl metabolite (AST5902), cysteine conjugate (M19), and parent drug (M0), which accounted for 6.28%, 5.52%, and 1.38% of the dose, respectively. After intragastric administration of 124 µCi/9.93 mg/kg [14C]-furmonertinib to rats, drug-related substances were widely and rapidly distributed in tissues within 4 h. The concentration of total radioactivity in the lung was 100-fold higher than that in rat plasma, which could be beneficial to the treatment of lung cancer. Mass balance in humans was achieved with 77.8% of the administered dose recovered in excretions within 35 days after administration, including 6.63% and 71.2% in urine and feces, respectively. In conclusion, [14C]-furmonertinib is completely absorbed and rapidly distributed into lung tissue, extensively metabolized in humans, presented mostly as covalent conjugates in plasma, and slowly eliminated mostly via fecal route.

The dairy goat is one of the earliest dairy livestock species, which plays an important role in the economic development, especially for developing countries. With the development of agricultural civilization, dairy goats have been widely distributed across the world. However, few studies have been conducted on the specific characteristics of dairy goat. In this study, we collected the whole-genome data of 89 goat individuals by sequencing 48 goats and employing 41 publicly available goats, including five dairy goat breeds (Saanen, Nubian, Alpine, Toggenburg, and Guanzhong dairy goat; n = 24, 15, 11, 6, 6), and three goat breeds (Guishan goat, Longlin goat, Yunshang Black goat; n = 6, 15, 6). Through compared the genomes of dairy goat and non-dairy goat to analyze genetic diversity and selection characteristics of dairy goat. The results show that the eight goats could be divided into three subgroups of European, African, and Chinese indigenous goat populations, and we also found that Australian Nubian, Toggenburg, and Australian Alpine had the highest linkage disequilibrium, the lowest level of nucleotide diversity, and a higher inbreeding coefficient, indicating that they were strongly artificially selected. In addition, we identified several candidate genes related to the specificity of dairy goat, particularly genes associated with milk production traits (GHR, DGAT2, ELF5, GLYCAM1, ACSBG2, ACSS2), reproduction traits (TSHR, TSHB, PTGS2, ESR2), immunity traits (JAK1, POU2F2, LRRC66). Our results provide not only insights into the evolutionary history and breed characteristics of dairy goat, but also valuable information for the implementation and improvement of dairy goat cross breeding program.

Sphingolipids, which comprise membrane systems together with other lipids, are ubiquitous in cellular organisms. They show a high degree of diversity across plant species and vary in their structures, properties, and functions. Benefiting from the development of lipidomic techniques, over 300 plant sphingolipids have been identified. Generally divided into free long-chain bases (LCBs), ceramides, glycosylceramides (GlcCers) and glycosyl inositol phosphoceramides (GIPCs), plant sphingolipids exhibit organized aggregation within lipid membranes to form raft domains with sterols. Accumulating evidence has revealed that sphingolipids obey certain trafficking and distribution rules and confer unique properties to membranes. Functional studies using sphingolipid biosynthetic mutants demonstrate that sphingolipids participate in plant developmental regulation, stimulus sensing, and stress responses. Here, we present an updated metabolism/degradation map and summarize the structures of plant sphingolipids, review recent progress in understanding the functions of sphingolipids in plant development and stress responses, and review sphingolipid distribution and trafficking in plant cells. We also highlight some important challenges and issues that we may face during the process of studying sphingolipids.

The study was done to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying the steady maintenance of the green microalga Dunaliella salina GY-H13 in successive subcultures in F/2 medium supplemented with the high cadmium (Cd) concentration (5 mg L-1) for 3 months or 84 days using physiological, metabolomic, and transcriptomic methodologies. Physiological analysis indicated that Cd suppressed growth rate, photosynthetic efficiency, and pigment contents and promoted Cd accumulation, reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and lipid peroxidation. UPLC-MS/MS-based metabolic analysis identified the top most upregulated and downregulated metabolites, the 5'-dehydroxyadenosine and thiamine acetic acid that were associated with the formation and removal of H2O2. RNA-seq-based transcriptomic analysis showed the overrepresentation of low-CO2-inducible genes in the most downregulated gene set. Metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses further showed that the decreased GSSG/GSH-based redox potential, increased oxidative-phosphorylation gene expression, and reduced activity of TCA cycle in cells after extended exposure to Cd. Taken together, our results imply that cellular defense to Cd in D. salina is achieved by upregulation of ROS-scavenging activities including depletion of thiamine acetic acid. Dynamic redox homeostasis is maintained in cells with extended exposure to Cd by production of both oxidants and antioxidants through multiple pathways.

We propose a data transmission scheme based on the dimming coding and quasi-orthogonal space-time block coding (QOSTBC) to improve the performance of indoor multiple-input multiple-output visible-light communication (MIMO-VLC) systems. After channel coding, the dimming coding was first applied to encode the input information bits into dimming bits. Then these encoded dimming bits were mapped to different symbols by head pulse position modulation. Finally, the symbol matrix was constructed on the basis of QOSTBC; then the light-emitting diodes would be activated to transmit the optical signals carrying the information according to the symbol matrix. The Monte Carlo simulations demonstrated the superiority of the proposed scheme in channel capacity and bit error ratio (BER). The channel capacity was a good approximation to the actual one, even though the full diversity gain could not be completely achieved. The BER could achieve 0.4×10-6 when the number of photodetectors was two.

ABSTRACT: Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is a common sexually transmitted disease worldwide and the leading cause of cervical cancer. Current vaccines do not cover all HPV genotypes whereas the distribution of HPV genotypes varies in different geographic regions. The study aimed to investigate the distribution of HPV genotypes in patients with cervical squamous intraepithelial lesion (SIL) and cervical squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in Taizhou City of Jiangsu Province, China. A total of 940 patients including 489 cases with cervical low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (LSIL), 356 cases with cervical high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL), and 95 cases with cervical SCC, underwent a biopsy or surgery in Taizhou People's Hospital between January 2019 and December 2019. The HPV testing results were retrospectively analyzed. The overall prevalence of any, high-risk, and low-risk HPV was 83.83%, 81.91%, and 12.13%, respectively. The 5 most common HPV genotypes were HPV16 (35.64%), HPV52 (16.91%), HPV58 (13.94%), HPV33 (8.94%), and HPV18 (7.98%). The prevalence of any and HR-HPV in SCC was significantly higher than those in LSIL and HSIL, while the prevalence of LR-HPV in SCC was significantly lower than those in LSIL and HSIL (P < .01). Single and dual HPV infections were prevalent in SCC, LSIL, and HSIL. Furthermore, the prevalence of dual HPV infection in SCC was significantly higher than those in LSIL and HSIL (P = .002). The HPV prevalence varied by age, being highest among women with SCC, LSIL, and HSIL aged 40 to 49 years, 40 to 49 years, and 50 to 59 years, respectively. In conclusion, the findings revealed a very high prevalence of HPV in women with cervical lesions in Taizhou. Routine HPV tests must cover all common HPV genotypes in clinical practice.

OBJECTIVES: The new antituberculous drugs delamanid and bedaquiline form the last line of defence against drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB). Understanding the background prevalence of resistance to new drugs can help predict the lifetime of these drugs' effectiveness and inform regimen design. METHODS: Mycobacterium tuberculosis without prior exposure to novel anti-TB drugs were analysed retrospectively. Drug susceptibility testing for bedaquiline, delamanid, linezolid, clofazimine and widely used first- and second-line anti-TB drugs was performed. All TB isolates with resistance to new or repurposed drugs were subjected to whole-genome sequencing to explore the molecular characteristics of resistance and to perform phylogenetic analysis. RESULTS: Overall, resistance to delamanid, bedaquiline, linezolid and clofazimine was observed in 0.7% (11/1603), 0.4% (6/1603), 0.4% (7/1603) and 0.4% (6/1603) of TB isolates, respectively. Moreover, 1.0% (1/102), 2.9% (3/102), 3.9% (4/102) and 1.0% (1/102) of multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB) were resistant to bedaquiline, delamanid, linezolid and clofazimine, respectively. Whereas 22.2% (2/9) of extensively-drug resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB) isolates were resistant to both delamanid and linezolid, and none was resistant to bedaquiline or clofazimine. Phylogenetic analysis showed that recent transmission occurred in two XDR-TB with additional resistance to delamanid and linezolid. None known gene mutation associated with delamanid resistance was detected. All four isolates with cross-resistance to bedaquiline and clofazimine had a detected gene mutation in Rv0678. Three of five strains with linezolid resistance had a detected gene mutation in rplC. CONCLUSION: Detection of resistance to new anti-TB drugs emphasises the pressing need for intensive surveillance for such resistance before their wide usage.

ABSTRACT: Guanine nucleotide-binding protein-like-3-like (GNL3L) is required for processing ribosomal pre-rRNA and cell proliferation and is upregulated in many types of cancer. This study is aimed to investigate the clinical significance of GNL3L in esophageal cancer. The mRNA and protein expression levels of GNL3L were determined by using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemistry, respectively. GNL3L was localized in both cytoplasm and nucleus. The expression levels of GNL3L in esophageal cancer tissues were significantly higher than those in adjacent nonmalignant tissues. High GNL3L expression was associated with pathologic type and poor differentiation. Patients with high GNL3L expression had shorter overall survival (OS) than those with low GNL3L expression. Multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that GNL3L expression was an independently predictive factor for the OS of patient with esophageal cancer. The Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA) databases also showed that GNL3L was upregulated in esophageal cancer, which was closely associated with an unfavorable prognosis of patients with esophageal cancer. Taken together, our findings suggest that GNL3L is upregulated in esophageal cancer, which is linked to the progression of the disease. As a result, GNL3L could be used as a biomarker for esophageal cancer.

BACKGROUND: Information on the prevalence and resistance spectrum of nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) in China is mainly based on regional or local data. To estimate the proportion of NTM cases in China, a national survey of NTM pulmonary disease was carried out based on acid-fast positive sputum samples collected in 2013. METHODS: Sputum samples collected from enrolled presumptive cases in 72 nationwide tuberculosis surveillance sites from the 31 provinces in the mainland of China were cultured using L-J medium at the National tuberculosis reference laboratory (NTRL). MALDI-TOF MS identified the species of re-cultured strains, and minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) were determined to evaluate the drug susceptibility of NTM isolates. Data analysis used statistical software SPSS version 22.0 for Windows statistical package. RESULTS: Of 4917 mycobacterial isolates cultured, 6.4% [317/4917, 95% confidence interval (CI) 5.8%-7.2%] were confirmed as NTM, among which 7.7% (287/3709, 95% CI 6.9%-8.6%) were from the southern region. In inland and coastal China, 87.7% (95% CI 78.7%-93.2%) and 50.0% (95% CI 43.7%-56.3%) of isolates, respectively, were slow-growing mycobacteria (SGM), with the remaining rapid growing mycobacteria (RGM). A total of 29 species were detected, Mycobacterium abscessus had higher clarithromycin-inducible resistance rates than M. massiliense (65.67% vs 2.22%). M. kansasii presented lower resistance rates in linezolid and moxifloxacin than M. avium-intracellulare complex (3.23% vs 66.67%, 0 vs 47.22%) and other SGM (3.23% vs 38%, 0 vs 26%). CONCLUSIONS: More NTM pulmonary disease was observed in the south and coastal China (P < 0.01). SGM was widely distributed, and more RGM are present in southern and coastal China (P < 0.01). The antimicrobial resistance spectrum of different NTM species was significantly different and accurate species identification would be facilitated to NTM pulmonary disease treatment.
