RESUMEN

Metrocoris sikkimensis sp. nov. is described from Sikkim, northeastern India, compared with similar species, included in an identification key and its geographical distribution is mapped. This species is assigned to the Metrocoris compar group based on the venter of the body entirely blackish and the male fore femur slender and unarmed. It can be distinguished from other species of the group based on the dark mesosternum without yellow markings, by the apically curved male paramere without setae, and by the structure of male endosomal sclerites.

RESUMEN

The subgenus Ptilomera (Ptilomera) Amyot Serville, 1843 of India is reviewed and Ptilomera (P.) nagalanda Jehamalar Chandra, sp. nov. is described from Peren District, Nagaland, India. The new species can clearly be distinguished from its congeners in India by the presence of silvery white setae on the sub-lateral region of the meso- and metanota and the presence of a fringe of fine short setae of different lengths on the flexor region of the mid femur reaching beyond the middle in the male. Detailed illustrations of the apterous male of the new species and male and female of other species of Ptilomera, except P. occidentalis Zettel, are given. Distribution maps and a key to all known species of Ptilomera (Ptilomera) in India are given.

RESUMEN

The Metrocoris fauna of India is reviewed and five new species are described from India: M. murtiensis Basu, Polhemus and Subramanian sp. nov. belonging to the nigrofasciatus species group, M. dinendrai Basu, Polhemus and Subramanian sp. nov. and M. darjeelingensis Basu, Polhemus and Subramanian sp. nov. of the compar species group, M. deceptor Basu, Polhemus and Subramanian sp. nov. (previously treated as M. quynhi Tran & Zettel in Basu et al., 2015) of the anderseni species group, and M. lavitra Basu, Polhemus, Subramanian and Saha sp. nov., which does not fit well into any currently established species group. The new species proposed are compared to all other known species, and a key to all the species of Indian Metrocoris is provided, accompanied by a table for comparison of key morphological characters, and a map and table of distributional details.

RESUMEN

Two new species of water striders in the genus Pleciobates are described from India and compared with allied species. Pleciobates bengalensis Jehamalar, Basu & Zettel sp. nov. is described from the Jalpaiguri District, West Bengal and Pleciobates expositus Jehamalar, Chandra & Zettel sp. nov. (Hemiptera: Gerridae) is described from the Dhubri District, Assam. A key to the species of Pleciobates and a distribution map of the species of Pleciobates from India are provided. For the first time the genitalia of Pleciobates females are described in detail.

RESUMEN

Amemboa mahananda sp. nov. and Amemboa bifurcata sp. nov. are described from Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary, in the Darjeeling district and from Kalikhola, in the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal, and compared with all allied species. A species checklist of the genus Amemboa Esaki, 1925  and Amemboides Polhemus & Andersen, 1984 from India and their distribution in India and elsewhere is provided. Amemboa kumari (Distant, 1910) is reported for the first time from West Bengal and Amemboa dentata Polhemus & Andersen, 1984 is newly recorded from Himachal Pradesh.
