RESUMEN

A database of all perinatal losses from 18 weeks' gestation in 1994-2007 was set up in Syktyvkar. It was found that 514 (24.3%) cases were associated with congenital malformation (CM) in the fetus (24.3%). Defects of the central nervous system, visceral organs, and facial structures, as well as their multiple forms were most common. The mean weight of fetuses with CM was 822 +/- 640 g and that of fetuses with chromosomal abnormality, heart and large vessel defects were more than 1000 g. One half of all cases of fetal chromosomal pathology were observed in women aged 30 years or older. Placentitis was revealed in 79 cases; of them 17 cases were found to have potentially teratogenic villusitis. There is a positive tendency for lower weights in the fetuses with CM in perinatal losses. The results of our study suggest that placental histological changes may be used to estimate the probability of CM.

RESUMEN

The purpose of this study is the analysis of the relationship of blood serum apolipoprotein E (apoE), total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG) and high-density and low-density lipoproteins (HDL, LDL), with body mass index (BMI), relative body surface area (RBSA) and body muscle (BM) and body fat (BF). The subjects are males and females aged 14-16 (adolescent age group 1: n1M = 141, n1F = 151) and 18-25 (young adult group 2, n2M = 16, n2F = 46). Significant correlations of serum TG and HDL with somatometric indicators were not observed. In the female samples, TC content directly correlates (p < 0.05) with BF (r1 = 0.164; r2 = 0.418) and negatively correlates with BM (r1 = -0.165; r2 = -0.352). The blood serum concentration of apoE is significantly correlated with body composition in adolescent females (for BF r1 = -0.168; for BM r1 = 0.266; p < 0.05); in males 14-16 years old, the both correlations have a significance level p < 0.06. In young adult females TC and LDL content negatively correlates with RBSA (r2 = -0.386 and -0.377 respectively; p < 0.05) and positively correlates with BMI (r2 = 0.413 and 0.415 respectively; p < 0.05). Adolescent females and young adult females have opposite relationships between FC and apoE concentration. In females 14-15 years old apoE concentration decreases as FC increases. In females 16-17 the correlation disappears, and in older females apoE concentration and FC increase together.

RESUMEN

The influence of acute normobaric hypoxia on NO metabolites level of the blood serum in volunteers at respiration of hypoxic gas mixture containing 8 % of O2 during 25 min was investigated. Health status of participants and the hypoxia intensity were monitored with a complex of indexes: EEC, ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation of haemoglobin, cardiac output, gas composition of exhaled air. Cluster analysis (k-means clustering) conducted among volunteers that have successfully passed the test has shown presence of two groups differing in NO metabolites level during experiment. Statistically significant differences on NO metabolites level between groups were observed before hypoxia exposure, on 10th minute of acute hypoxia (maximum difference) and on 5th minute of recovery. Differences on NO metabolites level between groups have been caused by changes in nitrates concentration whereas nitrites level did not differ. The least NO and nitrates levels have been revealed in volunteers that have been in volunteers that had interrupted performance of the test after 10 minutes of respiration of hypoxic gas mixture. Thus the moderate increase of NO metabolites level due to accumulation of nitrates at acute hypoxia testifies to good adaptive reserves of system of nitric oxide generation in organism.

RESUMEN

The relationship of the values of serum apolipoproteins and uric acid (UA) was studied in healthy individuals and patients with cardiovascular diseases. It was shown that the development of coronary heart disease (CHD) was attended by the inversion of a correlation between the values of serum apo-CIII and apo-E and UA whereas in patients with CHD these relationships were also significant, but they were negative. It was ascertained that in patients with hypertensive disease there was no significant correlation between the serum levels of apo-CIII, apo-E, and UA.
