Background: In pediatric patients with severe COVID-19, if the respiratory support provided using high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) becomes insufficient, no definitive evidence exists to support the escalation to noninvasive ventilation (NIV) or mechanical ventilation (MV). Case Presentation. A 9-year-old boy being treated with face mask-delivered biphasic positive airway pressure ventilation developed fever, tachypnea, and frequent desaturation. The COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction test and urine antigen test for Streptococcus pneumoniae were both positive, and sputum culture yielded Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The do-not-resuscitate order precluded the use of endotracheal intubation. After 2 h of HFNC support, the respiratory rate oxygenation (ROX) index declined from 7.86 to 3.71, indicating impending HFNC failure. A helmet was used to deliver NIV, and SpO2 was maintained at >90%. Dyspnea and desaturation gradually improved, and the patient was switched to HFNC 6 days later and discharged 10 days later. Conclusion: In some cases, acute respiratory distress syndrome severity cannot be measured using the oxygenation index or oxygenation saturation index, and the SpO2/FiO2 ratio and ROX index may serve as useful alternatives. Although NIV delivered through a facemask or HFNC is more popular than helmet-delivered NIV, in certain circumstances, it can help escalate respiratory support while providing adequate protection to healthcare professionals.

BACKGROUND: Although cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) offer the potential for long-term survival in peritoneal carcinomatosis, outcomes following CRS/HIPEC vary significantly. AIM: To identify the clinical factors associated with progression-free survival (PFS) after complete CRS/HIPEC in patients with colorectal/high-grade appendiceal, ovarian, and gastric cancers. METHODS: We retrospectively evaluated the risk of recurrence within 1 year after CRS/HIPEC and its impact on overall survival (OS) in patients recruited between 2015 and 2020. Logistic regression models were used to assess the prognostic factors for the risk of recurrence within 1 year. Kaplan-Meier survival curves and Cox proportional hazards models were used to evaluate the association between recurrence and OS. RESULTS: Of the 80 enrolled patients, 39 had an unfavorable PFS (< 1 year) and 41 had a favorable PFS (≥ 1 year). Simple logistic models revealed that the patients with a completeness of cytoreduction score of 0 (CC-0) or length of CRS ≤ 6 h had a favorable PFS [odds ratio (OR) = 0.141, P = 0.004; and OR = 0.361, P = 0.027, respectively]. In multiple logistic regression, achieving CC-0 was the strongest prognostic factor for a favorable PFS (OR = 0.131, P = 0.005). A peritoneal cancer index score > 12 was associated with a lower rate of achieving CC-0 (P = 0.027). The favorable PFS group had a significantly longer OS (median 81.7 mo vs 17.0 mo, P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: Achieving CC-0 was associated with a lower early recurrence rate and improved long-term survival. This study underscores the importance of selecting appropriate candidates for CRS/HIPEC to manage peritoneal carcinomatosis.

Electronic orders such as charge density wave (CDW) and superconductivity raise exotic physics and phenomena as evidenced in recently discovered kagome superconductors and transition metal chalcogenides. In most materials, CDW induces a weak, perturbative effect, manifested as shadow bands, minigaps, resistivity kinks, etc. Here we demonstrate a unique example-transition metal tetratellurides TaTe_{4}, in which the CDW order dominates the electronic structure and transport properties. Using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, we found that the band structure of CDW TaTe_{4} is characterized by small, bulk electron pockets. Density functional theory analyses reveal their CDW origin from the folding of the original, large Fermi pockets. Importantly, the CDW induced pockets result in prominent frequencies in the quantum oscillation of the magnetoresistance. Satisfactory agreements are reached between results from photoemission spectroscopy, density functional theory, and quantum oscillation, concerning the shape, size, location, and angle dependence of the CDW pockets. Our results underline transition metal tetratellurides as an outstanding example for exploring the interplay between CDW, pressure induced superconductivity, and potential topological states under strong field.

AIMS: PPAR-gamma shows promise in inhibiting malignancy cell progression. However, pioglitazone, the sole current PPAR-gamma agonist, was reported to have risks of bladder cancer in previous clinical researches. This study is aimed to assess the influence of pioglitazone on the development of tumors. METHODS: By using Taiwan's National Health Insurance Research Database, this nested case-control study identified incident type2 diabetes initiating metformin treatment between 2000 and 2014, and then categorized into two groups based on whether they developed malignancies after enrollment or not. The index date was defined as the date of malignancy diagnosis in the cancer group or a matched date in the non-cancer group. We analyzed the exposure to pioglitazone preceding the index date. RESULTS: 47,931 patients in the cancer group and 47,931 patients in the matched non-cancer group were included. The non-cancer group exhibited a significantly higher rate of pioglitazone prescription before the index date for overall malignancies (odds ratios for pioglitazone use were 0.91, 0.92, 0.94, and 0.93 in the first, second, third, and fourth years before the index date). For breast cancer and prostate cancer, pioglitazone was frequently prescribed in the non-cancer group, whereas for pancreatic cancer, pioglitazone use was more common in the cancer group. CONCLUSIONS: PPAR-gamma agonists may be associated with reduced risks of overall malignancies, particularly for breast and prostate cancers. However, it may be linked to an elevated risk of pancreatic cancer.

In van der Waals heterostructures (vdWHs), the manipulation of interlayer stacking/coupling allows for the construction of customizable quantum systems exhibiting exotic physics. An illustrative example is the diverse range of states of matter achieved through varying the proximity coupling between two-dimensional (2D) quantum spin liquid (QSL) and superconductors within the TaS2 family. This study presents a demonstration of the intertwined physics of spontaneous rotational symmetry breaking, hidden magnetism, and Ising superconductivity (SC) in the three-fold rotationally symmetric, non-magnetic natural vdWHs 6R-TaS2. A distinctive phase emerges in 6R-TaS2 below a characteristic temperature (T*) of approximately 30 K, which is characterized by a remarkable set of features, including a giant extrinsic anomalous Hall effect (AHE), Kondo screening, magnetic field-tunable thermal hysteresis, and nematic magneto-resistance. At lower temperatures, a coexistence of nematicity and Kondo screening with Ising superconductivity is observed, providing compelling evidence of hidden magnetism within a superconductor. This research not only sheds light on unexpected emergent physics resulting from the coupling of itinerant electrons and localized/correlated electrons in natural vdWHs but also emphasizes the potential for tailoring exotic quantum states through the manipulation of interlayer interactions.

The Microsoft Kinect depth sensor, with its built-in software that automatically captures joint coordinates without markers, could be a potential tool for ergonomic studies. This study investigates the performance of Kinect in limb segment lengths using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) as a reference. Healthy children and adults (n = 76) were recruited for limb length measurements by Kinect and DXA. The results showed consistent ratios of arm, forearm, thigh, and leg lengths to height, which were 0.16, 0.14, 0.23, and 0.22 respectively, for both age groups and methods. Kinect exhibited perfect correlation among all limb lengths, indicating fixed proportions assumed by its algorithm. Comparing the two methods, there was a strong correlation (R = 0.850-0.985) and good to excellent agreement (ICC = 0.829-0.977), except for the right leg in adults, where agreement was slightly lower but still moderate (ICC = 0.712). The measurement bias between the methods ranged from - 1.455 to 0.536 cm. In conclusion, Kinect yields outcomes similar to DXA, indicating its potential utility as a tool for ergonomic studies. However, the built-in algorithm of Kinect assumes fixed limb proportions for individuals, which may not be ideal for studies focusing on investigating limb discrepancies or anatomical differences.

Background: Listeriosis is caused by the facultative anaerobic bacterium Listeria monocytogenes. Infection from Listeria-contaminated food or water is the main etiology. If Listeria travels outside the intestines, it can cause invasive listeriosis, such as sepsis, meningitis, and meningoencephalitis. Invasive illness is especially dangerous for pregnant women and their newborns, elderly people, and people with compromised immune systems or medical conditions such as end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) patients receiving long-term dialysis. Purpose: Describe the manifestations and hospital outcomes of invasive listeriosis and identify the risk factors for in-hospital and one-year mortality in ESKD patients receiving long-term dialysis. Patients and Methods: This retrospective observational study examined hospitalized patient records at a Taiwanese tertiary medical center from August 1, 2000, to August 31, 2021. ESKD patients on chronic dialysis were identified with invasive listeriosis by blood culture and discharge diagnosis. Over 21 years, we accurately recorded 26 cases. Results: ESKD patients on chronic dialysis with invasive listeriosis have a poor prognosis. Only 53.8% of chronic dialysis patients with invasive listeriosis survived their first hospital episode. 42.3% of hospitalized ESKD patients with invasive listeriosis survived one year later. In univariate analysis, shock, tachypnea (RR ≥ 22), respiratory failure, qSOFA score ≥ 2, and lower initial platelet count were linked to greater in-hospital mortality rates. Conclusion: ESKD patients with invasive listeriosis have a grave prognosis. Our research reveals that an early blood sample for a bacterial culture may identify invasive listeriosis in chronic dialysis patients with fever, nausea or vomiting, confusion, and respiratory distress. This study is the first to identify a lower platelet count and qSOFA score ≥ 2 as markers of high-risk invasive listeriosis in ESKD patients.

OBJECTIVE: To develop an algorithm for the automated localization and measurement of levator hiatus (LH) dimensions (AI-LH) using 3-D pelvic floor ultrasound. METHODS: The AI-LH included a 3-D plane regression model and a 2-D segmentation model, which first achieved automated localization of the minimal LH dimension plane (C-plane) and measurement of the hiatal area (HA) on maximum Valsalva on the rendered LH images, but not on the C-plane. The dataset included 600 volumetric data. We compared AI-LH with sonographer difference (ASD) as well as the inter-sonographer differences (IESD) in the testing dataset (n = 240). The assessment encompassed the mean absolute error (MAE) for the angle and center point distance of the C-plane, along with the Dice coefficient, MAE, and intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) for HA, and included the time consumption. RESULTS: The MAE of the C-plane of ASD was 4.81 ± 2.47° with 1.92 ± 1.54 mm. AI-LH achieved a mean Dice coefficient of 0.93 for LH segmentation. The MAE on HA of ASD (1.44 ± 1.12 mm²) was lower than that of IESD (1.63 ± 1.58 mm²). The ICC on HA of ASD (0.964) was higher than that of IESD (0.949). The average time costs of AI-LH and manual measurement were 2.00 ± 0.22 s and 59.60 ± 2.63 s (t = 18.87, p < 0.01), respectively. CONCLUSION: AI-LH is accurate, reliable, and robust in the localization and measurement of LH dimensions, which can shorten the time cost, simplify the operation process, and have good value in clinical applications.

Molecular techniques that recover unknown sequences next to a known sequence region have been widely applied in various molecular studies, such as chromosome walking, identification of the insertion site of transposon mutagenesis, fusion gene partner, and chromosomal breakpoints, as well as targeted sequencing library preparation. Although various techniques have been introduced for efficiency enhancement, searching for relevant single molecular event present in a large-sized genome remains challenging. Here, the optimized ligation-mediated polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method was developed and successfully identified chromosomal breakpoints far away from the exon of the new exon junction without the need for nested PCR. In addition to recovering unknown sequences next to a known sequence region, the high efficiency of the method could also improve the performance of targeted  next-generation sequencing (NGS).

Flexible, air permeable and elastic self-powered sensors for human motion monitoring and assisted medical rehabilitation have recently become a hot research topic. However, most current piezoelectric sensors can not account for many characteristics. Addressing this challenge, an all-textile piezoelectric sensor (ATPS) based on 3D structured knitted fabric electrodes is reported. The ATPS consists of a piezoelectric element polyvinylidene fluoride nanofiber membrane, flexible knitted fabric electrodes, and an elastic self-adhesive bandage. Based on the flexible and efficient knitting technology, the sensor has the advantages of low cost, flexibility, simple structure, and convenient large-area manufacturing. Experimental and finite element simulation results show that the knitting pattern of fabric electrodes can enhance the piezoelectric output of ATPS. The optimal ATPS has a high voltage response sensitivity of up to 0.68 V/kPa. The proposed ATPS responds to a wide range of input forces from 0.098 to 724 N in self-powered mode, verifying its feasibility as a tactile sensor for human motion detection and recognition (throat swallowing, wrist bending, elbow bending, knee bending, walking slowly, running fast) and as a pressure sensor (Morse code, digit recognition) and demonstrating its potential for motion tracking, medical rehabilitation, and human-computer interaction.

BACKGROUND: This study presents CUPID, an advanced automated measurement software based on Artificial Intelligence (AI), designed to evaluate nine fetal biometric parameters in the mid-trimester. Our primary objective was to assess and compare the CUPID performance of experienced senior and junior radiologists. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This prospective cross-sectional study was conducted at Shenzhen University General Hospital between September 2022 and June 2023, and focused on mid-trimester fetuses. All ultrasound images of the six standard planes, that enabled the evaluation of nine biometric measurements, were included to compare the performance of CUPID through subjective and objective assessments. RESULTS: There were 642 fetuses with a mean (±SD) age of 22 ± 2.82 weeks at enrollment. In the subjective quality assessment, out of 642 images representing nine biometric measurements, 617-635 images (90.65-96.11%) of CUPID caliper placements were determined to be accurately placed and did not require any adjustments. Whereas, for the junior category, 447-691 images (69.63-92.06%) were determined to be accurately placed and did not require any adjustments. In the objective measurement indicators, across all nine biometric parameters and estimated fetal weight (EFW), the intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC) (0.843-0.990) and Pearson correlation coefficients (PCC) (0.765-0.978) between the senior radiologist and CUPID reflected good reliability compared with the ICC (0.306-0.937) and PCC (0.566-0.947) between the senior and junior radiologists. Additionally, the mean absolute error (MAE), percentage error (PE), and average error in days of gestation were lower between the senior and CUPID compared to the difference between the senior and junior radiologists. The specific differences are as follows: MAE (0.36-2.53 mm, 14.67 g) compared to (0.64- 8.13 mm, 38.05 g), PE (0.94-9.38%) compared to (1.58-16.04%), and average error in days (3.99-7.92 days) compared to (4.35-11.06 days). In the time-consuming task, CUPID only takes 0.05-0.07 s to measure nine biometric parameters, while senior and junior radiologists require 4.79-11.68 s and 4.95-13.44 s, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: CUPID has proven to be highly accurate and efficient software for automatically measuring fetal biometry, gestational age, and fetal weight, providing a precise and fast tool for assessing fetal growth and development.

Introduction: Hypertriglyceridemia is the most prevalent dyslipidemia in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). However, research about fibrate treatment in CKD patients is limited, and assessing its benefits becomes challenging due to the frequent concurrent use of statins. Thus, this study is aimed to investigate the role of fibrate in CKD stage 3 patients with hypertriglyceridemia who did not receive other lipid-lowering agents. Methods: This study enrolled patients newly diagnosed CKD3 with LDL-C<100mg/dL and had never received statin or other lipid-lowering agents from Chang Gung Research Database. The participants were categorized into 2 groups based on the use of fibrate: fibrate group and non-fibrate group (triglyceride >200mg/dL but not receiving fibrate treatment). The inverse probability of treatment weighting was performed to balance baseline characteristics. Results: Compared with the non-fibrate group (n=2020), the fibrate group (n=705) exhibited significantly lower risks of major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (MACCEs) (10.4% vs. 12.8%, hazard ratios [HRs]: 0.69, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.50 to 0.95), AMI (2.3% vs. 3.9%, HR: 0.52, 95% CI: 0.37 to 0.73), and ischemic stroke (6.3% vs. 8.0%, HR: 0.67, 95% CI: 0.52 to 0.85). The risk of all-cause mortality (5.1% vs. 4.5%, HR: 1.09, 95% CI: 0.67 to 1.79) and death from CV (2.8% vs. 2.3%, HR: 1.07, 95% CI: 0.29 to 2.33) did not significantly differ between the 2 groups. Conclusion: This study suggests that, in moderate CKD patients with hypertriglyceridemia but LDL-C < 100mg/dL who did not take other lipid-lowering agents, fibrates may be beneficial in reducing cardiovascular events.

BACKGROUND: Immunological nonresponders (INRs) living with HIV are at increased risk of co-infection and multiple tumors, with no effective strategy currently available to restore their T-cell immune response. This study aimed to explore the safety and efficacy of thymosin α1 in reconstituting the immune response in INRs. METHODS: INRs with CD4 + T cell counts between 100 and 350 cells/µL were enrolled and received two-staged 1.6 mg thymosin α1 subcutaneous injections for 24 weeks (daily in the first 2 weeks and biweekly in the subsequent 22 weeks) while continuing antiretroviral therapy. T cell counts and subsets, the expression of PD-1 and TIM-3 on T cells, and signal joint T cell receptor excision circles (sjTREC) at week 24 were evaluated as endpoints. RESULTS: Twenty three INRs were screened for eligibility, and 20 received treatment. The majority were male (19/20), with a median age of 48.1 years (interquartile range: 40.5-57.0) and had received antiretroviral therapy for 5.0 (3.0, 7.3) years. Multiple comparisons indicated that CD4 + T cell count and sjTREC increased after initiation of treatment, although no significant differences were observed at week 24 compared to baseline. Greatly, levels of CD4 + T cell proportion (17.2% vs. 29.1%, P < 0.001), naïve CD4 + and CD8 + T cell proportion (17.2% vs. 41.1%, P < 0.001; 13.8% vs. 26.6%, P = 0.008) significantly increased. Meanwhile, the proportion of CD4 + central memory T cells of HIV latent hosts (42.7% vs. 10.3%, P < 0.001) significantly decreased. Moreover, the expression of PD-1 on CD4 + T cells (14.1% vs. 6.5%, P < 0.001) and CD8 + T cells (8.5% vs. 4.1%, P < 0.001) decreased, but the expression of TIM-3 on T cellsremained unaltered at week 24. No severe adverse events were reported and HIV viral loads kept stable throughout the study. CONCLUSIONS: Thymosin α1 enhance CD4 + T cell count and thymic output albeit as a trend rather than an endpoint. Importantly, it improves immunosenescence and decreases immune exhaustion, warranting further investigation. TRIAL REGISTRATION: This single-arm prospective study was registered with ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT04963712) on July 15, 2021.

We review recent progress in the electronic structure study of intrinsic magnetic topological insulators (MnBi2Te4) · (Bi2Te3)n ([Formula: see text]) family. Specifically, we focus on the ubiquitously (nearly) gapless behavior of the topological Dirac surface state observed by photoemission spectroscopy, even though a large Dirac gap is expected because of surface ferromagnetic order. The dichotomy between experiment and theory concerning this gap behavior is perhaps the most critical and puzzling question in this frontier. We discuss various proposals accounting for the lack of magnetic effect on the topological Dirac surface state, which are mainly categorized into two pictures, magnetic reconfiguration and topological surface state redistribution. Band engineering towards opening a magnetic gap of topological surface states provides great opportunities to realize quantized topological transport and axion electrodynamics at higher temperatures.

BACKGROUND: Three-dimensional (3D)-printed models are cost-effective and can be customized by trainers. This study designed a 3D-printed airway suction simulator for use by respiratory therapy (RT) students. The objective was to demonstrate the cost-effectiveness and application of 3D-printed models in respiratory care training, aiming to enhance the educational experience for RT students. METHODS: This study developed a 3D-printed airway suction simulator that was cost-effective. A randomized controlled trial was conducted involving RT students to compare effectiveness in a 3D-model group and a control group. Skill assessments and written examinations were used to evaluate the participants' knowledge and skills. RESULTS: A total of 38 second-year RT students were randomly assigned to either the 3D-model group (n = 19) or the control group (n = 19). One participant in the 3D-model group was lost to follow-up during the planned direct observation of procedural skills (DOPS) assessment and satisfaction questionnaire completion. The posttest written examination scores were significantly higher in the 3D-model group than in the control group (100% vs 80%, P = .02). The scores from the DOPS and satisfaction questionnaire were comparable in the 2 groups. CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrated that 3D printing can be used to create a safe and cost-effective airway suction simulator for use by RT students, with potential to enhance training methods. Further research is necessary.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the impact of repeated dilatation and curettage or hysteroscopic biopsy on fetomaternal outcomes in patients receiving progestin treatment for endometrial hyperplasia or early-stage carcinoma. METHOD: This was a population-based study using the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database between 2009 and 2017 of women who gave birth and had a history of endometrial hyperplasia and early-stage carcinoma treated with progestins. Logistic regression analysis was used to estimate adjusted odds ratios (aORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) reflecting the association between repeated procedures and fetomaternal outcomes. RESULTS: A total of 6956 women with 8690 deliveries were identified. Compared with those who had two or fewer procedures, women who received more than two procedures had a significantly higher risk for cervical insufficiency (aOR, 5.09 [95 CI, 2.31-11.24]). Furthermore, women who had more than two procedures were prone to have adverse neonatal outcomes, including Apgar score < 7 at 1 min (aOR, 1.97 [95% CI, 1.13-3.43]) and 5 min (aOR, 3.11 [95% CI, 1.33-7.23]) and preterm delivery <32 weeks (aOR, 2.86 [95% CI, 1.50-5.45]). CONCLUSION: Undergoing more than two procedures was associated with subsequent maternal cervical insufficiency, preterm delivery <32 weeks, and low neonatal Apgar score. Health care providers should be aware of the potential risks and balance the benefits and harms of repeated procedures.

RESUMEN

The Segment Anything Model (SAM) is the first foundation model for general image segmentation. It has achieved impressive results on various natural image segmentation tasks. However, medical image segmentation (MIS) is more challenging because of the complex modalities, fine anatomical structures, uncertain and complex object boundaries, and wide-range object scales. To fully validate SAM's performance on medical data, we collected and sorted 53 open-source datasets and built a large medical segmentation dataset with 18 modalities, 84 objects, 125 object-modality paired targets, 1050K 2D images, and 6033K masks. We comprehensively analyzed different models and strategies on the so-called COSMOS 1050K dataset. Our findings mainly include the following: (1) SAM showed remarkable performance in some specific objects but was unstable, imperfect, or even totally failed in other situations. (2) SAM with the large ViT-H showed better overall performance than that with the small ViT-B. (3) SAM performed better with manual hints, especially box, than the Everything mode. (4) SAM could help human annotation with high labeling quality and less time. (5) SAM was sensitive to the randomness in the center point and tight box prompts, and may suffer from a serious performance drop. (6) SAM performed better than interactive methods with one or a few points, but will be outpaced as the number of points increases. (7) SAM's performance correlated to different factors, including boundary complexity, intensity differences, etc. (8) Finetuning the SAM on specific medical tasks could improve its average DICE performance by 4.39% and 6.68% for ViT-B and ViT-H, respectively. We hope that this comprehensive report can help researchers explore the potential of SAM applications in MIS, and guide how to appropriately use and develop SAM.

Despite recent advancements, therapies against advanced oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) remain ineffective, resulting in unsatisfactory therapeutic outcomes. Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) offers a promising approach in the treatment of malignant neoplasms. Although the effects of CAP in abrogating OSCC have been explored, the exact mechanisms driving CAP-induced cancer cell death and the changes in microRNA (miRNA) expression are not fully understood. We fabricated and calibrated an argon-CAP device to explore the effects of CAP irradiation on the growth and expression of oncogenic miRNAs in OSCC. The analysis revealed that, in OSCC cell lines following CAP irradiation, there was a significant reduction in viability; a downregulation of miR-21, miR-31, miR-134, miR-146a, and miR-211 expression; and an inactivation of the v-akt murine thymoma viral oncogene homolog (AKT) and extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) signals. Pretreatment with blockers of apoptosis, autophagy, and ferroptosis synergistically reduced CAP-induced cell death, indicating a combined induction of variable death pathways via CAP. Combined treatments using death inhibitors and miRNA mimics, alongside the activation of AKT and ERK following the exogenous expression, counteracted the cell mortality associated with CAP. The CAP-induced downregulation of miR-21, miR-31, miR-187, and miR-211 expression was rescued through survival signaling. Additionally, CAP irradiation notably inhibited the growth of SAS OSCC cell xenografts on nude mice. The reduced expression of oncogenic miRNAs in vivo aligned with in vitro findings. In conclusion, our study provides new lines of evidence demonstrating that CAP irradiation diminishes OSCC cell viability by abrogating survival signals and oncogenic miRNA expression.
