RESUMEN

This article presents the method of identifying dynamic models for different flight states of a rotary-wing UAV for simulations. Experimental flights with real-life UAVs were conducted to obtain data necessary for identification. Dynamic models were identified with time series methods performed using Matlab R2022b software. Such models can later be implemented in simulations to represent the behavior of real-life objects. Simulation is the first stage of developing a real-life UAV system, where prototyping with physical models is problematic. Therefore, obtaining accurate models is crucial for the simulation process to be reliable. Presented methods do not require knowledge of UAV construction, and complex mathematical equations do not need to be derived. Also, verification of obtained models was performed to make sure that they were identified correctly. In particular, the presented method was proven effective and successfully used in some applications.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Prediabetes has become a worldwide health problem. Multiple clinical trials have been conducted to determine the potential benefits of vitamin D supplementation in preventing the conversion to diabetes, but the results are inconsistent. The aims of this study were to evaluate the current knowledge and to suggest recommendations for researchers on designing future trials regarding that matter. METHODS: Four databases were searched for randomized control trials from the last 10 years about vitamin D and insulin resistance. The systematic electronic literature search identified 2645 studies, of which thirty-eight qualified for full-text reading and discussion. Finally, eight trials were included. RESULTS: Final results of seven trials reported that supplementation of vitamin D does not reduce insulin resistance nor reduces the risk of diabetes mellitus type 2 development in prediabetes. Only one trial showed improvements in fasting glucose and HOMA-IR. CONCLUSIONS: Due to the great variation and biases in study designs, an unambiguous interpretation of the results is not possible. To eliminate those vulnerabilities in the future, we made certain suggestions for study design. Long-term and well-designed studies are still required.

RESUMEN

Three-dimensional symmetry plays a crucial role in crystallography education. The educational process can be facilitated by introducing the analysis of friezes and plane patterns such as parquets before presenting more sophisticated crystal structures. Analysis of the symmetry of parquets can serve as an opportunity to follow the full routine of finding symmetry group symbols through incorporation of a two-step procedure involving the determination of Bravais lattice type. The aim of this paper is to provide a simple description of the analysis of Bravais lattices and pattern symmetry that can be used by students as well as crystallography educators. The procedure is also summarized in the form of comprehensive tree charts. This form is easy to use and popular with students. It may also aid in the retention of certain facts concerning crystallographic methodology. Examples of patterns in frieze and parquet forms were taken from the interiors of Kórnik Castle (Poland), which exhibit Moorish-style ornamentation including dichroic patterns and constitute an important locus of cultural heritage capable of strengthening students' motivation.
