RESUMEN

In the article there are presented data of the system analysis of hygienic properties of polyguanidines (PAG) as an innovative class of domestic microbicidal chemical long-acting compounds synthesized in the domestic scientific institution--Institute ofenvironmental and technological problems, and also delivered on their base new disinfectants. Submitted proceedings of microbiological studies indicate to the antimicrobial action of PA G against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, viruses, dermatophytes, yeasts, fungi, including pathogens, as well infectious agent of swine and legionellosis. The data of toxicological studies of PAG and a number of derivative disinfectants justify their hygienic safety in dependence on the chemical nature of the used anion (A), the composition and structure of the polymer chain and also the content of residual monomers. All this characterizes PAG as a very promising group of compounds for the use in the form of independent disinfectants and as antimicrobial additives and auxiliaries in such means for different purposes.

RESUMEN

Sensitivity of microflora representatives isolated from inflammatory foci from 40 patients with suppurative-inflammatory diseases of maxillo-facial region and neck to different concentrations of antiseptic preparations of polyhexametylenguanide hydrochloride (Biopag) and chlorhexidine bigluconate was tested. It was determined that 0.05-0.1% solutions of these antiseptics were optimal for these diseases treatment. Biopag had more pronounced fungicidal action, less toxic and more prolonged antimicrobial action and better organoleptic properties when compared with chlorhexidine bigluconate.

RESUMEN

Having bacteriological assay of the material from maxillary sinuses the authors confirmed the presence of fungus infection. There were picked out and identified fungi Aspergillus niger, Candida albicans and Actinomyces israelii. Aspergillus niger can imitate on roentgenograms the picture of foreign body presence in maxillary sinus. Comparison of bactericidal activity of chlorhexedine bigluconate and Biopag showed the advantages of Biopag preparation.

RESUMEN

A modification of neuroleptanalgesia (NLA) has been developed to be applied in operations on the lungs. It is based on the inclusion of indomethacin and diazepam into premedication, on the bolus administration of phentanyl, droperidol, and diazepam prior to the most traumatic stages of the operation, and on the subsequent infusion of phentanyl and droperidol. The modified technique of NLA has been applied in operations on 19 patients with lung cancer. The control (traditional NLA technique) consisted of 20 lung cancer patients. Evaluation of the endocrine response and venous blood plasma concentration of metabolites of polyunsaturated fatty acids showed a possibility for reducing the stress response to the operative trauma by using the modified NLA technique. The advantages of this method are well demonstrated in the course of the postoperative period as a lowered incidence of postoperative inflammatory complications.
