RESUMEN

Biochemistry of glycation, its role in violation of cells vital activity and forming of age-related pathologies are presented in the review on the literature data of mainly later 5 years. Antiglycative and deglycative effects of endogenous enzymes, and natural and synthetic exogenous chemical compounds are examined from the point of impact on the aging process.

RESUMEN

A type of laser-induced surface relief nanostructure-the nanocrown-on thin metallic films was studied both experimentally and theoretically. The nanocrowns, representing a thin corrugated rim of resolidified melt and resembling well-known impact-induced water-crown splashes, were produced by single diffraction-limited nanosecond laser pulses on thin gold films of variable thickness on low-melting copper and high-melting tungsten substrates, providing different transient melting and adhesion conditions for these films. The proposed model of the nanocrown formation, based on a hydrodynamical (thermocapillary Marangoni) surface instability and described by a Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation, envisions key steps of the nanocrown appearance and gives qualitative predictions of the acquired nanocrown parameters.

RESUMEN

The ring-loop oscillator consisting of two coupled klystrons which is capable of generating hyperbolic chaotic signal in the microwave band is considered. The system of delayed-differential equations describing the dynamics of the oscillator is derived. This system is further reduced to the two-dimensional return map under the assumption of the instantaneous build-up of oscillations in the cavities. The results of detailed numerical simulation for both models are presented showing that there exists large enough range of control parameters where the sustained regime corresponds to the structurally stable hyperbolic chaos.

RESUMEN

Strangulation colorectal obstruction was modeled in 60 Wistar rats. Necrotic segment of the intestine was resected under conditions of peritonitis and end-to-end intestinal anastomosis was performed on a PCV catheter conducted through the anus. Sodium hypochlorite and ozone solution were used for sanitation of the abdominal cavity and intestinal lavage, and the intestinal anastomosis was coated with Ozonide (ozonized oil). The use of physicochemical methods notably reduced the incidence of postoperative pyoinflammatory complications, incompetence of intestinal anastomosis sutures, and animal mortality.

RESUMEN

The reflectivity of a gallium/silica interface formed on an optical flat or at the tip of a cleaved optical fiber can be reduced in a reversible fashion when the interface is excited by a few milliwatts of laser power. This phenomenon occurs at temperatures just below gallium's melting point. We believe that the effect can be attributed to light-induced structuring at the interface.
