RESUMEN

Conservative therapy for chronic polyposis rhinosinusitis are well covered, and modern endoscopic rhinosurgery can effectively cope with this pathology. Clinical cases of large destructive anthrochoanal polyps are not uncommon, the pathology is well studied. However, cases with giant sinonasal polyposis, which lead to bone-destructive changes in the bones of the nose and the walls of the paranasal sinuses are very rare. We found only one case similar to the clinical observation presented in this article.

RESUMEN

Nowadays, the factors of labor conditions, expectations of workers about working place safety, quality of career development health integrity play an important role in distribution and exploitation of labor force. The social factors and factors of health preserving technologies gain even more importance for organization of working space. The international organizations more often fix increasing of traumatism, deterioration of quality of life of workers, including such crucial for development of labor market and society strata as the youth one. Hence it is a real threat of decreasing of human potential of nation. The article presents international estimates of understanding and calculation of main indices of labor conditions, quality of workplaces and integrity of health of workers. The problems of further investigation in this area are brought out. The characteristics of definition of the term "social hygiene of labor" are exposed as significant for describing and specifying characteristics of modern labor relations, changes in employee-employer relations for the purpose of improving work and employment conditions, as well as social protection of able-bodied population, preserving and promoting health of workers.

RESUMEN

The paper represents theresults of longitudinal monitoring of the changes in the parameters of simple visual-motor reaction, the visual acuity and the rate of the visual discrimination in the child users of mobile communication, which indicate the multivariability of the possible effects of radiation from mobile phones on the auditory system of children.

RESUMEN

An overview of the epidemiological and experimental evidence for exposure of humans and animals to electromagnetic radiation produced by mobile phones is provided. The effects of mobile phone radiation on the child's body are considered in detail. It has been shown that the children's organism is more sensitive to this kind of exposure than the adult one.

RESUMEN

This study submits the results of a four-year monitoring of a complex diagnostics of the psychophysiological indicators for 196 children aged 7 to 12 years old: 147 of them are child users of mobile communication (test group) and 49 are in the control group. We have identified the following major trends of the psychophysiological indicators for child users of mobile communication: an increased number of phonemic perception disorders, abatement of efficiency, reduced indicators for the arbitrary and semantic memory, an increased fatigue. A steady decline of the parameters from high values to bottom standards has been found.

RESUMEN

We studied the sensitivity of human melanoma (Bro strain) xenografts to drugs of the nitrosoalkylurea (NAU) class: nitrosomethylurea (NMM), karmustin (BCNU), nimustin (ACNU), nitrulin, and ADEKO. High antitumor activity of NAM was shown when the drugs were applied not only at the early, but also at the late stages of tumor progression (tumor mass 400 and 1200 mg, respectively). The therapeutic effect of the drugs was estimated with the use of criteria characterizing the kinetics of tumor regression, increased life span, and survival of treated animals. After early administration of the drugs (Day 4 after tumor transplantation), 67% and 50% of animals survive under the influence of nitrulin and ACNU, respectively, while the rate of tumor regression increased in the sequence nitrulin < karmustin < NMM < ACNU. After late administration (11 days after tumor transplantation), NMM was most effective at increasing survival (35% of survived animals by 35 days of observation), while the rate of tumor regression increased in the sequence ADEKO < NMM < karmustin < nitrulin < ACNU.

RESUMEN

An experimental model of development of the human tumor xenografts (melanomas HCMB and Bro) in immunosuppressed phenotypically normal animals (CBA/Ca mice) was developed. Optimal conditions were established for immunodeficiency induction in the animals. Kinetics of development of the xenografts in the immunosuppressed animals was studied. The level of 0(6)-alkyl-guanine-DNA-alkyltransferase, an enzyme responsible for repair of DNA damage in the tumor cells induced by chemotherapeutic agents (nitroalkylurea), was determined.

RESUMEN

Biochemical, biophysical and functional properties of the genetic and membrane apparatus of the cell were considered activity and regulatory properties of the membrane and cytosolic enzymes of organs and tissues of mice exposed to radiation in the wide range of doses of 6 to 1800 mGy with the radiation intensity of 4.1 x 10(-3) and 41 x 10(-3) mGy/min. It was shown that the dose-dependence of changes in the investigated properties is of non-linear polymodal (bimodal) nature. The value of the maximum and the dose at which the latter was observed depend on the object's nature, radiation intensity and time passed after irradiation. An essential factor is that sensitivity of molecules, cells, organs and animals exposed to low-dose radiation to other damaging effects changes. The explanation is given in terms of the changes in the relation between the quantity of damages and the activity of reparation systems induced by low-dose irradiation.
