RESUMEN

Crafting pertinent policies to facilitate the high-level integration of culture and tourism has now become a vital agenda within the current discourse in China. However, relatively little is known about the actual implementation of various policies to achieve a high-level integration, especially how combinations of policy instruments are deployed in the process of realization. Based on the Policy Instrument Theory, this study uses fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis on a sample of 31 provincial administrative regions in China to investigate the influence of typical policy instruments on the integration level of tourism and culture. The results show that each single policy tool is not necessary for high-level integration of culture and tourism. On the contrary, only through an organic combination of different policy tools can affect the integration level. This study also summarizes five policy instrument configurations, which can be grouped into four driving modes of culture-tourism integration: the environment-driven supply-demand coordination mode, supply-driven demand-environment coordination mode, supply-driven mode, and supply-driven environment coordination mode. This study considerably provides critical theoretical and practical insights into the integration of culture and tourism from the perspective of governmental policies.

RESUMEN

The electrothermal coupling model of Pt/CoFe2O4/TiO2/TiN devices was established to study their resistive switching characteristics and basic biological synaptic properties in our research. The processes of set and reset are simulated, and the distribution of the temperature, the electric field and the concentration of oxygen vacancies in the dielectric layer are obtained. The switching performance of the TiO2-based device is significantly improved after the CoFe2O4 layer is inserted, with the switching voltage, working current and power consumption being reduced, while the switching ratio is increased. By changing the thermal conductivity of the top electrode, the rupture position of the conductive filament can be controlled. The I-V characteristics of the Pt/CoFe2O4/TiO2/TiN device during the reset and set processes are fitted linearly in logarithmic coordinates, and the ohmic conduction mechanism or the space-limited charge conduction mechanism is mainly satisfied in the high and low resistance states. Finally, the application of dual-layer devices on biological synapses is studied, and the basic biological characteristics of enhancement, inhibition and paired pulse promotion are simulated successfully. In addition, the redox reaction induced by oxygen vacancy migration also promotes the formation and rupture of the conductive filament. Results of the study show this ferrite material as an insertion layer in a resistive random-access memory structure that offers potential for future information storage and bioneuromorphic computation devices.

RESUMEN

Ronald Inglehart's postmaterialist theory suggests that with the advancement of industrialization and economic prosperity, there will be a significant transformation in people's societal values. Concurrently, their forms of political participation shift from conventional activities to unconventional politic activities. However, most research on this topic has been predominantly focused on Western countries. In fact, rural farmers in China serve as an excellent experimental group for testing this theory since they have experienced rapid economic growth while still being deeply influenced by traditional authoritarianism culture.Using a sample of 6,689 respondents from the 2019 Chinese Social Survey (CSS) and employing a Binary Logistic Regression Model, we discovered that Chinese farmers' perception of overall societal justice exhibits a U-shaped relationship with various forms of political participation. Specifically, it shows a significant negative correlation with non-institutional political participation, such as contact-officer participation, but a significant positive correlation with institutional political participation types like community participation and election participation. Our further research indicates that the three subtypes of perception of societal justice are significantly negatively correlated only with non-institutional political participation, while their statistical relationship with institutional political participation is not significant. We believe that the underlying reason for this phenomenon lies in the unique interpretation of societal justice within Chinese traditional culture. Additionally, through a comparative analysis of models on political participation behavior and willingness, we found that despite significant inequalities and disparities in institutional structures and levels of economic development between rural and urban areas in China, rational considerations of the risks and costs associated with defying the government deter Chinese farmers from engaging in non-institutional politic activities unless their emotional resentment towards unjust practices reaches a certain threshold.

RESUMEN

In general, the operating characteristics of solid-state lasers are significantly impacted by the ambient temperature, especially for Yb:YAG crystal with an anti-Stokes fluorescence cooling effect. In this Letter, the influence of the ambient temperature on the operating characteristics at the zero thermal load (ZTL) state is studied for an Yb:YAG disk crystal with a 1030 nm intra-cavity-pumped scheme. Theoretical analysis indicates that the output power of the laser at the ZTL state is significantly enhanced as the ambient temperature increases. Experimental results show that when the ambient temperature increases to 40°C, the output power of the laser at the ZTL state can reach 1.11 W, which is more than twice than that achieved at an ambient temperature of 25.5°C. This Letter provides a technical pathway for achieving a higher-power radiation-balanced laser (RBL).

RESUMEN

Although organic fertilizers played an important role in enhancing crop yield and soil quality, the effects of organic fertilizers replacing chemical fertilizers on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions remained inconsistent, and further impeding the widespread adoption of organic fertilizers. Therefore, a global meta-analysis used 568 comparisons from 137 publications was conducted to evaluate the responses of GHG emissions to organic fertilizers replacing chemical fertilizers. The results indicated that organic fertilizers replacing chemical fertilizers significantly decreased N2O emissions, but increasing global warming potential (GWP) by enhancing CH4 and CO2 emissions. When replacing chemical fertilizers with organic fertilizers, a variety of factors such as climate conditions, soil conditions, crop types and agricultural practices influenced the GHG emissions and GWP. Among these factors, fertilizer organic C and available N level were the main factors affecting GHG and GWP. However, considering the feasibility and ease of optimizing these factors, fertilizer organic C, C/N and N substitution rate showed a more favorable choice for GWP reduction, and their interactions significantly affecting GWP. Moreover, considering the distinct GHG emissions patterns in dryland and paddy field, the analysis of optimizing GWP based on fertilizer organic C, C/N and N substitution rate was separately conducted. According to the simulation optimization, the optimal combination of fertilizer organic C (137.2-228.8 g·kg-1), C/N (6.9-52.0) and N substitution rate (20.0-22.5 %) effectively suppressed the extent of increase in GWP in paddy field compared with chemical fertilizers. In dryland, optimizing fertilizer organic C (100-278 g·kg-1), C/N (70.7-76.6) and N substitution rate (10.2-16.0 %) led to a reduction in GWP compared with chemical fertilizers, indicating that dryland are more suitable for promoting organic fertilizer application. In conclusion, this meta-analysis study quantitatively assessed the GHG emissions when organic fertilizers replacing chemical fertilizers, and also provided a scientific basis for the mitigation of GHG emissions by organic fertilizers management.

RESUMEN

An electrothermal coupling model of resistive random access memory (RRAM) was established based on the oxygen vacancy conduction mechanism. By resolving the partial differential equation for the coefficients, the variation process of the device resistance was simulated. In our studies, a device model was proposed which can accurately simulate the whole process of RRAM forming, reset, and set. Based on the established model, a new high dielectric constant (high-k) material (La2O3) is introduced as the sidewall material. The La2O3sidewall material can concentrate the electric field and helps to speed up the formation of conductive filaments. The La2O3sidewall can effectively reduce the forming voltage increase during the miniaturization process. Then, the influence of sidewall thermal conductivity on forming voltage is studied, and it is discovered that low thermal conductivity helps to reduce the model's forming voltage and increase the temperature concentration. These findings serve as a foundation for more studies on the choice of sidewall materials.

RESUMEN

Aim: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of simple TaTNE in the treatment of low rectal cancer compared with laparoscopic transabdominal TME. Methods: We collected patients with low rectal cancer admitted to our hospital between January 2019 and November 2021 who received simple TaTME or laparoscopic transabdominal TME. The main outcome was the integrity of the TME specimen. Secondary outcomes were the number of lymph nodes dissected, intraoperative blood loss, operative time, surgical conversion rate, Specimen resection length, circumferential margin (CRM), and distal resection margin (DRM), complication rate. In addition, the Wexner score and LARS score of fecal incontinence were performed in postoperative follow-up. Results: Pathological tissues were successfully resected in all patients. all circumferential margins of the specimen were negative. Specimen resection length was not statistically significant (9.94 ± 2.85 vs. 8.90 ± 2.49, P > 0.05). The incidence of postoperative complications in group A (n = 0) was significantly lower than that in group B (n = 3) (P > 0.05). There was no significant difference in operation time between group A and group B (296 ± 60.36 vs. 305 ± 58.28, P > 0.05). Among the patients with follow-up time less than 1 year, there was no significant difference in Wexner score and LARS score between group A and group B (P > 0.05). However, in patients who were followed up for more than 1 year, the Wexner score in group A (9.25 ± 2.73) was significantly lower than that in group B (17.36 ± 10.95) and was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion: For radical resection of low rectal cancer, Simple TaTME resection may be as safe and effective as laparoscopic transabdominal TME, and the long-term prognosis may be better.

RESUMEN

Introduction: Abundant evidence has proved the association between the Dark Triad and bullying. However, the underlying mechanisms of this relationship are still not fully understood. Based on the temporal need-threat model, three studies were designed to explore the mediating role of social exclusion and sense of control in this research. Methods: In study 1 we recruited 571 Chinese adolescents (Mage = 14.53, SD = 0.716) to participate in a cross-sectional study. And two experiments were respectively designed in Study 2 (N = 88) and Study 3 (N = 102) to verify the effects of real and cyber social exclusion on adolescent bullying behavior. Results: Study 1 showed that social exclusion and sense of control would play the serial mediating role in the relationship between the Dark Triad and bullying (except social exclusion as a mediator between the Dark Triad and cyberbullying). Study 2 and 3 showed that adolescents with high Dark Triad show lower sense of control and more bullying behavior after experiencing social exclusion. Discussion: These findings extend the research on the Dark Triad and bullying by providing a solid empirical foundation and intervention strategies to avoid bullying so that the problem can be rationally and scientifically approached.

RESUMEN

Electrochemical determination of synthetic opioids such as fentanyl is meaningful but still challenging no matter from a social or academic perspective. Herein, we report a series of novel electrocatalysts based on Fe-containing metal-organic frameworks and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (Fe-MOF/MWCNTs). The obtained Fe-MOF/MWCNT electrode materials all show ultrasensitivity on fentanyl determination. In particular, MOF-235/MWCNTs even exhibit an ultra-low limit of detection (LOD) of 0.03 µM with a wide linear range from 0.1 to 50 µM. Besides, this series of Fe-MOF/MWCNTs also displays excellent repeatability, selectivity, and stability. Moreover, they show good performance in real sample detection and achieve good recovery of 95.47%-102.41% and 96.62%-103.15% in blood and urine samples, respectively. This high performance in fentanyl determination is mainly contributed by the Fenton-like process and the adsorption function of the Fe-MOF. Therefore, these novel Fe-MOF/MWCNTs are promising electrocatalysts for point-of-care device fabrication and also have potential applications in fentanyl rapid test technology.

RESUMEN

Ultrasensitive electrochemical detection on hazardous substances like antibiotics and pesticides is essential but still challenging in rapid test technology. Herein, the first electrode using highly conductive metal-organic frameworks (HCMOFs) for electrochemical detection of chloramphenicol is proposed. The design of electrocatalyst Pd(II)@Ni3 (HITP)2 with ultra-sensitivity in detection of chloramphenicol is demonstrated by loading Pd onto HCMOFs. An ultra-low limit of detection (LOD) of 0.2 nM (64.6 pg/mL) was observed for these materials, which is 1-2 orders of magnitude lower than the other reported materials for chromatographic detection. Moreover, the proposed HCMOFs showed long-time stability over 24 h. The superior detection sensitivity can be attributed to the high conductivity of Ni3 (HITP)2 , and the large Pd loading. The experimental characterizations and computational investigation determined the Pd loading mechanism in Pd(II)@Ni3 (HITP)2 , revealing PdCl2 adsorption on the abundant adsorption sites of Ni3 (HITP)2 . The proposed electrochemical sensor design using HCMOFs was demonstrated to be both effective and efficient, showing that the adoption of HCMOFs decorated with other effective electrocatalysts, which combine high conductivity and high catalytic activity, is of great advantage for ultrasensitive detection.

RESUMEN

The growing demand for sustained self-powered devices with multifunctional sensing networks is one of the main challenges for smart textiles, which are the critical elements for the future Internet of Things (IoT) and Point of Care (POC). Here, cellulose-based smart textile is integrated with dynamic Schottky diode (DSD) to generate sustained power source (current density of 8.9 mA m⁻2 ) for self-powered built-in sensing network. In response to normal and shear motions, a pressure sensor with a sensitivity of 0.12 KPa⁻1 and an impact sensor are demonstrated, respectively. The woven structure of the textile contributes to signal amplification, which can also form a matrix of sensing elements for distributed sensing. The proposed strategy of fabricating self-powered and multifunctional sensing networks with smart textiles shows tremendous potential for future intelligent society.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: In recent years, intersphincteric resection (ISR) has been increasingly used to replace abdominoperineal resection (APR) in the surgical treatment of ultra-low rectal cancer. AIM: This study was to compare the clinical efficacy of ISR and APR. METHODS: Between 2012 and 2018, 74 consecutive patients with ultra-low rectal cancer underwent ISR or APR in our medical center. A retrospective comparison of these 2 procedures was performed. RESULTS: A total of 43 patients underwent ISR and 31 underwent APR were included in the study. No significant differences were found between 2 groups in gender, age, BMI, and ASA score. Intersphincteric resection group showed shorter operative time (P = .02) and less blood loss (P = .001). Hospital stays, time to soft diet, and postoperative 30-day complications were not significantly different between the 2 groups. R0 resection achieved 100% in both the groups. As for the long-term outcomes, the survival and recurrence rate were similar between 2 groups. Moreover, the LARS and Wexner score showed that the postoperative anal function after ISR were satisfactory. CONCLUSION: This study suggested that ISR was feasible and safe for selected patients with ultra-low rectal cancer, with clinically superior outcomes in select patients (small tumors/further from the anal verge) and similar oncological outcomes to APR, and the anal functional outcomes after ISR were acceptable.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: EID3 (EP300-interacting inhibitor of differentiation) was identified as a novel member of EID family and plays a pivotal role in colorectal cancer development. However, its role in glioma remained elusive. In current study, we identified EID3 as a novel oncogenic molecule in human glioma and is critical for glioma cell survival, proliferation and invasion. METHODS: A total of five patients with glioma were recruited in present study and fresh glioma samples were removed from patients. Four weeks old male non-obese diabetic severe combined immune deficiency (NOD/SCID) mice were used as transplant recipient models. The subcutaneous tumor size was calculated and recorded every week with vernier caliper. EID3 and AMP-activated protein kinase α1 (AMPKα1) expression levels were confirmed by real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blot assays. Colony formation assays were performed to evaluate cell proliferation. Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) assays were performed for cell viability assessment. Trypan blue staining approach was applied for cell death assessment. Cell Apoptosis DNA ELISA Detection Kit was used for apoptosis assessment. RESULTS: EID3 was preferentially expressed in glioma tissues/cells, while undetectable in astrocytes, neuronal cells, or normal brain tissues. EID3 knocking down significantly hindered glioma cell proliferation and invasion, as well as induced reduction of cell viability, apoptosis and cell death. EID3 knocking down also greatly inhibited tumor growth in SCID mice. Knocking down of AMPKα1 could effectively rescue glioma cells from apoptosis and cell death caused by EID3 absence, indicating that AMPKα1 acted as a key downstream regulator of EID3 and mediated suppression effects caused by EID3 knocking down inhibition. These findings were confirmed in glioma cells generated patient-derived xenograft models. AMPKα1 protein levels were affected by MG132 treatment in glioma, which suggested EID3 might down regulate AMPKα1 through protein degradation. CONCLUSION: Collectively, our study demonstrated that EID3 promoted glioma cell proliferation and survival by inhibiting AMPKα1 expression. Targeting EID3 might represent a promising strategy for treating glioma.

RESUMEN

Many researchers have studied low-grade glioma and the immune microenvironment have been studied by many researchers. Recent studies suggest that macrophages and dendritic cells trigger part of the local immune dysregulation in the tumor microenvironment, and they have been polarized into a mixed pro-inflammatory and immunosuppressive phenotype. It is suggested that the degree of immune infiltration is related to the survival, therapeutic effect, and prognosis of patients. This opens up new avenues for cancer treatment. On the basis of immune infiltration degree, a protein interaction network (PIN) and a prognosis model were established, and we chose the top 20 pathways from enrichment analysis to provide potential targets for glioma clinical treatment.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Anal sphincter incontinence (ASI) can cause a serious decline in the quality of life and can cause a socioeconomic burden. Studies have shown that bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) have significant therapeutic effects on ASI, but the cost and risk of MSC harvest limit their further application. In contrast, adipose tissue derived stem cells (ADSC) and cellular stromal vascular fraction (CSVF) as stem cell sources have multipotency and the advantage of easy harvest. OBJECTIVE: Here we aim to investigate the effects of ADSC and CSVF on treating ASI and compare them to that of bone marrow MSC. METHODS: Bone marrow MSC, ADSC, and CSVF were obtained and labeled with green fluorescent protein (GFP), and CSVF was labeled with DIL. Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were divided into 5 groups. Four groups were injected with 0.2 mL phosphate buffer saline (PBS), 1 × 107/0.2 mL of MSC, ADSC, or CSVF, respectively, after model establishment. The control group received no treatment. The repair was assessed by anal functional tests and immunostaining on day 5 and day 10 after injection. RESULTS: MSC, ADSC, and CSVF significantly promoted tissue repair and the recovery of muscle contraction and electromyographic activity in ASI. The generation of myosatellite cells by injected MSC, ADSC, and CSVF was found in the wounded area. On day 5, CSVF showed highest therapeutic effect, while on day 10, MSC and ADSC showed higher therapeutic effects than CSVF. When comparing the effects of MSC and ADSC, ADSC was slightly better than MSC in the indexes of anal pressure, etc. Conclusion: ADSC and CVSF are alternative stem cell sources for ASI repair.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Cervical cancer microenvironment is involved in the regulation of the behavior, morphology, and mechanical properties of the cervical cancer cells. Integrins expressed on the cell membrane combine with the factors of the microenvironment to determine cervical cancer cells' properties. The mechanical properties of integrin-extracellular matrix (ECM) interactions are important for the mechanotransduction of cervical cancer cells. However, the quantified study on the adhesion force and binding probabilities between collagen and integrins on cervical cancer cells grown on different stiffness substrates have not been reported. METHODS: Polyacrylamide (PA) gel was used as substrate to mimic the mechanical microenvironment of cancer cells. ImageJ software was used to measure the perimeter and area of the cells. SiHa cells were stained with FITC phalloidine to observe the cytoskeleton. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) was used to measure the cell mechanical properties. RESULT: The perimeters of SiHa cells grown on different stiffness substrates were 63.4 ± 1.3, 102.8 ± 4.0, and 152.6 ± 4.1 µm, for soft, intermediate, and stiff substrates, respectively. These areas were 277.2 ± 13.3, 428.9 ± 26.0, and 1166.0 ± 63.2 µm2, for soft, intermediate, and stiff substrates, respectively. The Young's modulus of SiHa cells grown on stiff substrates (3.0 ± 0.02 kPa) was higher compared with those on soft substrates (0.6 ± 0.01 kPa) or intermediate substrates (bimodal distribution, 1.36 and 1.67 kPa). The adhesion force between the functionalized probe and SiHa cells grown on glass (55.65 ± 0.78 pN) was significantly greater than that on stiff (47.03 ± 0.85 pN), intermediate (34.07 ± 0.58 pN) and soft (27.94 ± 0.47 pN) substrates. The binding probabilities of the collagen-integrin of the four rigid substrates were significantly differed. CONCLUSION: The changes in substrate stiffness can obviously regulate SiHa cells' mechanical properties, such as the Young's modulus. The adhesion force and binding probabilities of SiHa cells both increased with increasing substrate strength.

RESUMEN

AIM: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of the resin hemoperfusion device (HA380 hemoperfusion cartridge) on inflammatory responses during adult cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). METHODS: Sixty patients undergoing surgical valve replacement were randomized into the HP group (n = 30) with an HA380 hemoperfusion cartridge in the CPB circuit or the control group (n = 30) with the conventional CPB circuit. The results of routine blood tests, blood biochemical indexes, and inflammatory factors were analyzed at V0 (pre-CPB), V1 (CPB 30 min), V2 (ICU 0 h), V3 (ICU 6 h), and V4 (ICU 24 h). RESULTS: The HP group had significantly lower levels of IL-6, IL-8, and IL-10. Significant estimation of group differences in the generalized estimating equation (GEE) models was also observed in IL-6 and IL-10. The HP group had significantly lower levels of creatinine (Cr), aminotransferase (AST), and total bilirubin (TBil) compared to the control group. The estimation of differences of Cr, AST, and TBil all reached statistical significance in GEE results. The HP group had significantly less vasopressor requirement and shorter mechanical ventilation time and ICU stay time as compared to the control group. CONCLUSION: The HA380 hemoperfusion cartridge could effectively reduce the systemic inflammatory responses and improve postoperative recovery of patients during adult CPB.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: The long-term prognosis of current treatments for anal sphincter incontinence (ASI) is poor. Here, we explored the efficacy of tissue adipose stromal vascular fraction SVF (tSVF) on ASI and compared it to that of cellular SVF (cSVF). We then investigated possible mechanisms. METHODS: Rat cSVF and tSVF were isolated and labeled with DIL. One day after modeling, three groups received phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), cSVF, tSVF, respectively. The control group received nil modeling nor any treatments. The effect was assessed by function test for anal pressure and electromyography, and staining for fiber content, proliferation and differentiation at day 5 and day 10. RESULTS: cSVF injection resulted in faster healing than tSVF. The cSVF group showed significant improvement on anal pressure on day 10. For the electromyography test, cSVF showed significant improvement for the frequencies on day 10, and for the peak values on both time points, while tSVF showed significant improvement for the peak values on day 10. The two SVF both alleviated fibrosis. Immunofluorescence tracing identified differentiation of some injected cells towards myosatellite cells and smooth muscle cells in both SVF groups. For all the tests, the tSVF group tends to have similar or lower effects than the cSVF group with no significant difference. CONCLUSION: cSVF and tSVF are both safe and effective in treating ASI, while the effect of cSVF is slighter higher than tSVF.

RESUMEN

Aromatic amines could be produced from organic wastes via catalytic pyrolysis with ammonia that served not only as a carrier gas but also as a reactant. Aromatic amines of 14.2 C% with selectivity of 57.6% were obtained from phenol-formaldehyde resins via pyrolysis over commercial HZSM-5-3 zeolite (Si/Al ratio of 80) catalyst at 650 °C. Significant synergetic effects have been observed when lignin was added, which improved aromatic amines yield by 32.2% to 11.8 C% at the mixing weight ratio of lignin to PF resins of 1:1. HZSM-5-3 was slightly deactivated after 3 cycles with acid sites loss. Catalytic co-pyrolysis of plastics and biomass wastes is a fast and effective method to produce aromatic amines.

RESUMEN

An ultrafast time-stretched swept source with a sweep rate of 400 MHz is demonstrated based on the buffering of a 100 MHz femtosecond laser pulse train. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest sweep rate of swept sources for optical coherence tomography (OCT) that has been reported. With a 10 dB sweep range of ∼100nm, an axial resolution of 19 µm is obtained in the OCT. OCT imaging of high-speed rotating disks is demonstrated. A composite complex apodization method is proposed and demonstrated to enhance the signal to noise ratio in the OCT imaging.
