RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: This study aims to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of the SKYVaricella vaccine in healthy Vietnamese children aged 12 months to 12 years. METHODS: This open-label, single-arm study involved 201 children divided into two groups: 60 children aged 12 months to 5 years and 141 children aged 6 to 12 years. Safety was assessed through immediate reactions, solicited adverse events within 7 days, and unsolicited events up to Day 42. Immunogenicity was evaluated by seroconversion rates (SCR) and geometric mean titer (GMT) increments using fluorescent antibody-to-membrane antigen (FAMA) on the day of vaccination (D0) and 42 days after vaccination (D42). RESULTS: All participants completed the follow-up. Immediate adverse events included pain (8.0%), redness (8.0%), and swelling (20.9%) at the injection site. Within 7 days, pain (17.9%) and swelling (12.4%) were mild and self-resolving. Unsolicited adverse events were infrequent and mild. Both age groups achieved 100% SCR. GMT of varicella-zoster virus antibodies increased from 1.37 (SD 1.97) at D0 to 18.02 (SD 2.22) at D42, a 13.12-fold rise. No Grade 3 adverse events were observed. CONCLUSION: The SKYVaricella vaccine shows a robust immunogenic response and favorable safety profile in Vietnamese children aged 12 months to 12 years. These findings endorse its potential inclusion in pediatric vaccination programs as a reliable preventive option against varicella.

RESUMEN

INTRODUCTION: After the Coronavirus Disease 2019 pandemic, a high number of cases and severe dengue in children were reported in some provinces in the south of Vietnam. This study aimed to determine the distribution of dengue virus serotypes and their correlation with demographic factors, disease severity, clinical manifestations, and laboratory findings. METHODOLOGY: This study employed a cross-sectional design. Ninety-six dengue-infected children admitted to Can Tho Children's Hospital between October 2022 and March 2023 were included. Confirmation of dengue infection was achieved through the real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). RESULTS: Among the identified serotypes, DENV-2 accounted for the highest proportion (71.87%), followed by DENV-1 (23.96%), and DENV-4 (4.17%). DENV-3 was not detected. No significant demographic, disease severity, or laboratory differences were observed among the identified dengue serotypes. However, DENV-2 was associated with a higher occurrence of mucous membrane hemorrhages and gastrointestinal bleeding compared to other serotypes. CONCLUSIONS: Although DENV-2 was the most prevalent serotype responsible for dengue in children in southern Vietnam, it did not lead to more severe cases compared to other serotypes. This finding is crucial for evaluating the illness's prognosis.

RESUMEN

This case report details a novel technique implemented in Vietnam. When full equipment is unavailable, we adapt it by using aortic balloon occlusion to enhance the patient's hemodynamics and mitigate the risk of intraprocedural exsanguination. This approach effectively addresses the rupture of abdominal aortic aneurysms in patients with unstable hemodynamic conditions.

RESUMEN

Gallbladder volvulus (GV) is a medical emergency and a rare cause of acute abdominal pain among the pediatric population. GV is more prominent usually in boys in pediatric patients. If it is not diagnosed and surgically intervened promptly, GV will become a life-threating condition. Fortunately, a safe and effective laparoscopic cholecystectomy is now widely indicated. A 5 years old female patient with abdominal pain and heavy much vomiting was referred to the emergency room in our hospital. She was suspiciously diagnosed with acute inflammation of the gallbladder according to the results of abdominal ultrasound and computerized tomography (CT) scan already performed on admission. One day after the hospitalization, abdominal ultrasound, and CT scan were performed again because of intensification of her abdominal pain and revealed the clinical portrait of GV such as a "floating gallbladder" sign, an echogenic cone structure, an elongated axis displaced horizontally instead of vertically and a lack of intramural blood flow. The acute GV diagnosis was made and the patient was operated, using the laparoscopic cholecystectomy on time, the gallbladder was tightly twisted clockwise at approximately 720°. The operation and postoperative treatment went quite well and the patient was discharged from the hospital on postoperative Day 7. GV is very rare in children, easily omitted or misdiagnosed with cholecystitis. Imaging diagnosis such as ultrasound, CT with contrast helps make diagnosis promptly that avoids severe complications such as gallbladder perforation, necrosis, and biliary peritonitis.

RESUMEN

The Eighth Asian National Control Laboratory (NCL) Network meeting, entitled "Biological Products Quality Control and Self-Sufficiency Strategy focusing on plasma-derived medicinal products (PDMPs)" was held in Seoul on 31 August 2023. The participants were NCL experts from Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and the Republic of Korea. Special lectures included the PDMPs self-sufficiency strategies of the World Health Organization (WHO) and Indonesian Food and Drug Authority, and a case study on Global Benchmarking Tool (GBT) assessment for vaccines by the Korea Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. The NCL delegates shared their current experiences with national lot releases and biological standardisation. The meeting contributed to a mutual understanding of the progress of the PDMPs self-sufficiency among Asian countries, the WHO's support strategies, and the NCL's plan for the preparation of the WHO GBT assessment. In the panel discussion, all participants agreed that building capacity in blood safety in the Asian region and harmonisation of relevant international regulatory requirements will support appropriate emergency preparedness, particularly source materials in the region, and will build the foundation for resolving the PDMPs supply insecurity that has worsened after the COVID-19 pandemic in some countries.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: The prevalence and risk factors of atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients with transient ischemic attack (TIA) or ischemic stroke in Northern Vietnam are not well understood. This study aimed to estimate the prevalence and identify factors associated with AF in this population. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 2038 consecutive patients with TIA or ischemic stroke admitted to Bach Mai Hospital. AF was diagnosed using an electrocardiogram or Holter monitor. Logistic regression analyses were performed to determine the association between AF and risk factors. RESULTS: Among the patients, 18.1% (95% CI: 16.46 to 19.85) had AF. Older age, renal dysfunction, valvular heart disease (VHD), and low ejection fraction were significantly associated with AF. Advanced age (per 10 years) (adjusted OR, aOR 1.39; 95% CI, 1.23 to 1.57), estimated glomerular filtration ratio decrease (per 10 mL/min/1.73 m2) (aOR 1.12; 95% CI, 1.06 to 1.17), VHD (aOR 9.59; 95% CI, 7.10 to 12.95), and low ejection fraction (<50%) (aOR 2.61; 95% CI, 1.62 to 4.21) had notable odds ratios for AF. CONCLUSIONS: Atrial fibrillation is prevalent among patients with TIA or ischemic stroke in Northern Vietnam, surpassing rates in other Southeast Asian countries. Age, renal dysfunction, VHD, and low ejection fraction were significant risk factors for AF in this population.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: This Delphi method of consensus was designed to develop scientific statements for ß-blockers in the continuum of cardiovascular diseases with a special focus on the role of bisoprolol. METHODS: Eleven experienced cardiologists from across the Asia-Pacific countries participated in two rounds of the survey. In the first round, experts were asked to rate agreement/disagreement with 35 statements across seven domains regarding the use of ß-blockers for treating hypertension, heart failure, coronary artery diseases, co-morbidities, as well as their safety profile, usage pattern, and pharmacokinetic variability. A consensus for a statement could be reached with >70% agreement. RESULTS: Except for seven statements, all attained consensus in the first round. In the second round that was conducted virtually, the experts re-appraised their ratings for the seven statements along with a critical appraisal of two additional statements that were suggested by experts in the preceding round. At the end of the second round, the final version included 36 statements (34 original statements, two statements suggested by experts, and the omission of one statement that did not attain consensus). The final version of statements in the second round was disseminated among experts for their approval followed by manuscript development. CONCLUSION: Attainment of consensus for almost all statements reconfirms the clinical benefits of ß-blockers, particularly ß1-selective blockers for the entire spectrum of cardiovascular diseases.

RESUMEN

Food preservation is one of the strategies taken to maintain the level of public health. Oxidation activity and microbial contamination are the primary causes of food spoilage. For health reasons, people prefer natural preservatives over synthetic ones. Syzygnium polyanthum is widely spread throughout Asia and is utilized as a spice by the community. S. polyanthum has been found to be rich in phenols, hydroquinones, tannins, and flavonoids, which are potential antioxidants and antimicrobial agents. Consequently, S. polyanthum presents a tremendous opportunity as a natural preservative. This paper reviews recent articles about S. polyanthum dating back to the year 2000. This review summarizes the findings of natural compounds presented in S. polyanthum and their functional properties as antioxidants, antimicrobial agents, and natural preservatives in various types of food.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Mixing vaccines was proposed as a solution to tackle supply chain interruptions during the crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed to investigate the safety of mixing COVID-19 vaccines for a booster dose in Hanoi, Vietnam. METHOD: A cross-sectional study was conducted via a telephone-based interview to identify the adverse events following COVID-19 vaccination among 719 participants in Hanoi, Vietnam. RESULTS: In total, 45.76% of participants experienced at least one adverse event following two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Most of the adverse events were local effects with mild symptoms such as fever, headache, muscle pain, and/or pain at the site. In general, matching two doses in the same vaccines was not associated with the adverse events as compared to mixing vaccines (OR = 1.43, 96%CI: 0.93-2.2), except matching two doses of Pfizer (OR = 2.25, 95%CI: 1.33-3.82). CONCLUSION: The findings of this study suggest the overall safety of mixed vaccination. In light of the vaccine shortage, mixing vaccinations for COVID-19 prevention is a good solution. Further studies with larger cohorts and investigating immunity following mixing vaccines are needed to elucidate the mechanism.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: Our study aimed to evaluate the effect of soft tissue regeneration in nude mice using grafts made from the combination of adipocytes from fat tissue mesenchymal stem cells and fibrin gel from peripheral blood. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Mesenchymal stem cells were isolated from adipose tissue and identified according to ISCT criteria. The scaffold used was fibrin obtained from peripheral blood. The grafts in this study were generated by transferring mesenchymal stem cells onto a fibrin scaffold. Two types of grafts, the research sample (fibrin scaffold containing adipocytes differentiated from mesenchymal stem cells) and the control sample (fibrin scaffold only), were grafted under the dorsal skin of the same mouse. After each research period, samples were collected and evaluated by histological methods to observe the existence and growth of cells inside the grafts. RESULTS: The results showed that the study group's graft integrated better within the tissue when compared with the control group. In addition, the grafts in the study group showed the presence of cells with characteristic morphology of adipocytes one week after transplantation. In contrast, control samples showed dimorphous shapes and features mainly composed of non-homogenous fragments. CONCLUSIONS: These initial conclusions might be considered a first step in generating safe bio-compatible engineered grafts specifically usable in post-traumatic tissue regeneration procedures.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: A combination of enzymes and ultrasound treatment was employed to extract bioactive compounds from cashew nut testa, a by-product of the food industry. The total catechin, flavonoid, and phenolic content of extracts was investigated together with their biological activity. RESULTS: Enzyme and ultrasound-assisted extraction (E-UAE) was performed by incubation with Viscozyme L (20 mL kg-1 of testa powder, v/w) for 60 min before sonication for 40 min. Ultrasound and enzyme-assisted extraction (U-EAE) was carried out using sonication for 40 min before incubation with Viscozyme L (20 mL kg-1 of testa powder) for 60 min. Under appropriate conditions, the total phenolic, flavonoid, catechin, and epigallocatechin gallate content of the extracts from cashew nut testa obtained from a combination method (U-EAE or E-UAE) was significantly higher than that obtained using a single method (EAE or UAE). Extracts of cashew nut testa obtained from E-UAE displayed significantly higher antioxidant and α-amylase inhibitory activity than those from the U-EAE. The E-UAE extract at a concentration of 100 µg mL-1 had a greater impact on the cell viability of MCF-7 after treatment (22% cell viability) than did the doxorubicin (DOX) at 4 µg mL-1 (39% cell viability), and the E-UAE extract at 100 µg mL-1 was considered to be safe for healthy cells because the viability of the bovine aerotic endothelial cells treated with this extract was 91%, which was similar to the DOX treatment. CONCLUSION: The extract of cashew nut testa obtained from E-UAE is valuable and promising for the development of anti-inflammatory therapeutic drugs. © 2023 Society of Chemical Industry.

RESUMEN

Severe plastic deformation (SPD) is an effective route for the nanocrystallization of multi-principal element alloys (MPEAs). The stability of the refined microstructure is important, considering the high temperature applications of these materials. In the present study, the effect of SPD on the stability of a body-centered cubic (bcc) HfNbTiZr MPEA was investigated. SPD was performed using a high-pressure torsion (HPT) technique by varying the number of turns between ½ and 10. The evolution of phase composition and microstructure was studied near the disk centers and edges where the imposed strain values were the lowest and highest, respectively. Thus, the shear strain caused by HPT varies between 3 (½ turn, near the center) and 340 (10 turns, near the edge). It was found that during annealing up to 1000 K, the bcc HfNbTiZr alloy decomposed into two bcc phases with different lattice constants at 740 K. In addition, at high strains a hexagonal close packed (hcp) phase was formed above 890 K. An inhomogeneous elemental distribution was developed at temperatures higher than 890 K due to the phase decomposition. The scale of the chemical heterogeneities decreased from about 10 µm to 30 nm where the shear strain increased from 3 to 340, which is similar to the magnitude of grain refinement. Anneal-induced hardening was observed in the MPEA after HPT for both low and high strains at 740 K, i.e., the hardness of the HPT-processed samples increased due to heat treatment. At low strain, the hardness remained practically unchanged between 740 and 1000 K, while for the alloy receiving high strains there was a softening in this temperature range.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: To understand the prevalent issues and challenges in the provision of care for dyslipidemia and hypertension in Vietnamese adults, quantification of patient journey stages (awareness, screening, diagnosis, treatment, adherence, and control) was performed in this semi-systematic review. METHODS: The EMBASE and MEDLINE databases were searched for English articles published between 2010 and 2019. Thesis abstracts, letters to the editor, editorials, case studies, and studies on patient subgroups or nationally unrepresentative studies, were excluded. Articles from Google, the Incidence and Prevalence Database, the World Health Organization, Vietnam's Ministry of Health, and those suggested by the authors were also included. The last search was run on December 10, 2019 for dyslipidemia and hypertension. RESULTS: A reviewer independently screened 586 retrievals for dyslipidemia and 177 retrievals for hypertension, and extracted data from 2 articles on dyslipidemia and 6 articles on hypertension that were included in the final synthesis. CONCLUSION: The data generated in this review will help overcome these issues and barriers to patient care in populations with these 2 conditions.

RESUMEN

The objective of this study was to investigate morphology, molecular crystalline structure, and digestibility of debranched mung bean starches with or without microwave treatment and retrogradation at different temperature. The mung bean starch was firstly debranched with pullulanase, and then the debranched starch containing 20% moisture content was treated by microwave irradiation for 3 min with or without further retrograded at +25, +4, or -18 °C for 24 h. All treated starches exhibited the B + V-type crystalline polymorph as determined by the XRD and the 13CNMR. The FT-IR results showed that the debranched starches had lower degree of order but higher degree of double helix than those of the native starch. The microwave treatment or further recrystallization of the debranched starch for more 24 h significantly improved crystalline structure of starch granules with higher degree of relative crystallinity, degree of order, and degree of double helices. The resistant starch content of the treated starch was in a range of 39.7-52.8%, significantly higher than that of the native starch (15.6%). As a result, the microwave-assisted debranched starch with further crystallization for 24 h was found to have highly ordered structure of granules, which highly resisted to the enzyme digestion.

RESUMEN

In this paper, we propose a novel information criteria-based approach to select the dimensionality of the word2vec Skip-gram (SG). From the perspective of the probability theory, SG is considered as an implicit probability distribution estimation under the assumption that there exists a true contextual distribution among words. Therefore, we apply information criteria with the aim of selecting the best dimensionality so that the corresponding model can be as close as possible to the true distribution. We examine the following information criteria for the dimensionality selection problem: the Akaike's Information Criterion (AIC), Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC), and Sequential Normalized Maximum Likelihood (SNML) criterion. SNML is the total codelength required for the sequential encoding of a data sequence on the basis of the minimum description length. The proposed approach is applied to both the original SG model and the SG Negative Sampling model to clarify the idea of using information criteria. Additionally, as the original SNML suffers from computational disadvantages, we introduce novel heuristics for its efficient computation. Moreover, we empirically demonstrate that SNML outperforms both BIC and AIC. In comparison with other evaluation methods for word embedding, the dimensionality selected by SNML is significantly closer to the optimal dimensionality obtained by word analogy or word similarity tasks.

RESUMEN

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is the hyperproliferation of the stromal and the epithelial cells within the prostatic transition zone. In recent years, phytotherapy have been studied with the concern for increasing quality of life, improving lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) as well as reducing prostate volume and the frequency of adverse events was similar to that of placebo. Linh Phu Khang Tue Tinh (LPKTT) capsules are formulated from 4 herbs widely used in traditional Vietnamese medicine - Panax notoginseng (Burkill) F.H.Chen - Tam that (radix), Crinum asiaticum L. - Náng hoa trang or giant crinum lily, Polygonum cuspidatum Willd. ex Spreng. (= Reynoutria japonica Houtt) - Cot cu khí or Japanese knotweed (radix), Oldenlandia herbacea (L.) Roxb. (formerly known as Hedyotis diffusa Spreng.) - Bach hoa xà thie^t thao or slender oldenlandia (herb). The preparation has been used in traditional Vietnamese medicine to treat nocturia, weak urine stream, urinary tract infection. According to modern studies, these herbs have anti-inflammation, antitumor, and antioxidant activities. AIMS OF THE STUDY: Evaluating the effects of LPKTT capsules on the development of BPH using a rat model of BPH induced by testosterone propionate (TP). MATERIALS AND METHODS: 60 male Wistar rats, 10-12 weeks of age, weight 200-250 g were separated into six groups: (G1) a normal control group that was taken orally phosphate-buffered saline (p.o.; PBS.) with corn oil (subcutaneous injection- Sc); (G2) a BPH model group that received PBS (p.o) with TP (Sc); (G3) a positive control group that received dutasteride (25 µg/kg BW/24 h, p.o.) with TP (Sc); (G4) a positive control group that received alfuzosin HCl (1.8 mg/kg BW/24 h, p.o.) with TP (s.c.) and (G5 and G6) LPKTT groups that received LPKTT at 289.8 or 869.4 mg/kg(p.o.) respectively, with TP (s.c.). BPH model was induced by Sc of TP, 3 mg/kg for 4 weeks. After that, rats were received NaCl/Dutasteride/Alfuzosin/LPKTT for the next 28 days. On the 56th day, assessed the results were through the indicators: micturition frequency, voided volume, total voided volume, the prostate and body weights, the ratio of prostate weight to body weight, prostate histology. RESULTS: LPKTT reduced micturition frequency and increased the voided volume when compared to the control group (p < 0.01). The results were equivalent to those of the alfuzosin ones (G4). LPKTT lowered prostate weight and the ratio of prostate weight to body weight when compared to the control group (p < 0.01). These reductions were the same in the dutasteride ones. Histomorphology in G5 and G6 also showed that LPKTT inhibited TP induced prostatic hyperplasia. The results were similar to that in the dutasteride group. Microscopic images of prostate in G5 and G6 were almost similar to that of G1. CONCLUSION: LPKTT capsules work to inhibit prostate proliferation in rats induced BPH by TP.

RESUMEN

Cu nanofoams are promising materials for a variety of applications, including anodes in high-performance lithium-ion batteries. The high specific surface area of these materials supports a high capacity and porous structure that helps accommodate volume expansion which occurs as batteries are charged. One of the most efficient methods to produce Cu nanofoams is the dealloying of Cu alloy precursors. This process often yields nanofoams that have low strength, thus requiring additional heat treatment to improve the mechanical properties of Cu foams. This paper provides the effects of heat treatment on the microstructures, mechanical properties, and electrochemical performance of Cu nanofoams. Annealing was conducted under both inert and oxidizing atmospheres. These studies ultimately reveal the underlying mechanisms of ligament coarsening during heat treatment.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: In this study, we evaluated MHH patients who wished to preserve fertility, assessing the efficacy of a short course (12 months) of a combined hCG +clomiphene citrate. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The cross-sectional study included 19 patients with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism who were admitted to the Andrology and Fertility Hospital of Hanoi between March 2016 and March 2018. Using hCG every three days in combination with clomiphene citrate 25mg per day until normal testosterone levels are reached, maintain the dose until spermatozoa are present. RESULTS: The mean age was 30.2 ± 5.6. Differences in penis length between the time before and after treatment were significant (p=0.005). The average dose of hCG using in our study was 5579 ± 1773.7 IU. After treatment 6 months and 12 months, the changes in clinical features in all patients and the total hypogonadotropic hypogonadism group were statistically significant (p<0.001). In particular, the differences in testosterone hormone levels in the partial hypogonadotropic hypogonadism group were also statistically significant (p=0.03). No adverse event was observed in our study. The number of patients appearing sperm in the semen is 9 patients (47.4%) after 12 months, but most of the sperm were completely deformed (<1%), and the average motility in the progressive motility group was below 8%. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, a combination of hCG and clomiphene citrate may be an option for MHH patients who desired fertility. After 12 months, 47.4% of patients have sperm in semen but almost all of them were deformity. Hormone profile and secondary sexual characteristics improved significantly. There was no adverse event in our study that considered it as safe therapy.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: The differentiation of surgical from nonsurgical adult intussusception may enable the appropriate selection of management strategies. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the diagnostic potential of multidetector computed tomography (MCDT) features to differentiate surgical from nonsurgical adult intussusception and develop a diagnostic model. METHODS: A retrospective study was performed on 96 patients with intussusceptions at the University Medical Center Hospital between January 2014 and January 2020. Two radiologists reviewed all images, and intussusception characteristics were documented. The location of intussusception, length, diameter, interposed fat thickness, lead point, and complications were evaluated. Based on the results, a diagnostic tree model was developed to differentiate between surgical and nonsurgical adult intussusception. RESULTS: A total of 99 intussusceptions in 96 patients (mean age: 53.0 ± 16.5 years), including 35 (35.3%) enteroenteric, 27 (27.3%) enterocolic, and 37 (37.4%) colocolic lesions, were evaluated. Of the enteroenteric intussusceptions, 22 (62.9%) were surgical, including 19 (79.2%) with lead points. Among colon intussusceptions, 63 (98.4%) were surgical, and 100% had lead points. The characteristics used to predict surgical intussusceptions included lead point presence, length ≥ 5.0 cm, diameter ≥ 3.2 cm, interposed fat thickness ≥ 0.5 cm, and complications (p < 0.001). Based on these features, we established a diagnostic tree model that correctly classified 96 (97%) of 99 lesions. CONCLUSION: Our study reinforces the importance of MDCT for the diagnosis and guided management of adult intussusceptions. The characteristics that predicted surgical intussusceptions included lead points, length, diameter, interposed fat thickness, and complications. RESUMEN

INTRODUCTION: Current disease surveillance in Vietnam relies on underdeveloped electronic medical record (EMR) systems, which are insufficient for timely standardized data collection about craniofacial and cleft pathologies. Concurrently, the World Bank reports Vietnamese mobile cellular subscription rates (per 100 people) of 128, some of the highest in the world. Herein, we discuss the development of a short messaging service (SMS)-based surveillance system based in Hanoi, Vietnam, and its utility in contrast to an EMR-based approach to craniofacial epidemiology study. METHODS: Vietnam National Children's Hospital (VNCH) is a pediatric tertiary care center serving approximately 12 million children. Four plastic surgeons were trained in SMS data entry. The SMS database was designed using FrontlineSMS, a 2-way mobile gateway software application with automated messaging capabilities. The VNCH EMR database was queried for individual demographic data for patients seen by the department from 2010 to 2019. RESULTS: A corrected prevalence for cleft lip and palate of 0.098% (1 in 1020 live births) was calculated based on EMR data. Six rural provinces greater than 150 km from Hanoi were found to be significantly (P < 0.01) underserved surgically by the VNCH. A significantly (P < 0.01) higher rate of Pierre Robin in Lang Son province and facial clefts in Ha Tinh province were identified. The prospective data collection system received 7 patient data sets over 4 months, resulting in a capture rate of 2.9%. CONCLUSIONS: This feasibility study offers valuable insight into the true cleft and craniofacial prevalence in Vietnam and alternative methods to study in low- and middle-income countries.
