BACKGROUND: Higher temperatures are associated with higher rates of hospital admissions for nephrolithiasis and acute kidney injury. Occupational heat stress is also a risk factor for kidney dysfunction in resource-poor settings. It is unclear whether ambient heat exposure is associated with loss of kidney function in patients with established chronic kidney disease. We assessed the association between heat index and change in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in participants from the DAPA-CKD trial in a post-hoc analysis. METHODS: DAPA-CKD was a randomised controlled trial of oral dapagliflozin 10 mg once daily or placebo that enrolled participants aged 18 years or older, with or without type 2 diabetes, with a urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio of 200-5000 mg/g, and an eGFR of 25-75 mL/min per 1·73 m2. In this post-hoc analysis, we explored the association between time-varying daily centre-level heat index (ERA5 dataset) and individual-level change in eGFR in trial participants using linear mixed effect models and case-time series. The DAPA-CKD trial is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT03036150. FINDINGS: Climate and eGFR data were available for 4017 (93·3%) of 4304 participants in 21 countries (mean age: 61·9 years; mean eGFR: 43·3 mL per 1·73 m2; median 28 months follow-up). Across centres, a heat index of more than 30°C occurred on a median of 0·6% of days. In adjusted linear mixed effect models, within each 120-day window, each 30 days' heat index of more than 30°C was associated with a -0·6% (95% CI -0·9% to -0·3%) change in eGFR. Similar estimates were obtained using case-time series. Additional analyses over longer time-windows showed associations consistent with haemodynamic or seasonal variability, or both, but overall estimates corresponded to an additional 3·7 mL per 1·73 m2 (95% CI 0·1 to 7·0) loss of eGFR per year in a patient with an eGFR of 45 mL per 1·73 m2 located in a very hot versus a temperate environment. INTERPRETATION: Higher ambient heat exposure is associated with more rapid eGFR decline in those with established chronic kidney disease. Efforts to mitigate heat exposure should be tested as part of strategies to attenuate chronic kidney disease progression. FUNDING: None.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors decrease blood pressure in patients with type 2 diabetes, but the consistency and magnitude of blood pressure lowering with dapagliflozin in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is unknown. We conducted a prespecified analysis of the DAPA-CKD trial to investigate the effect of dapagliflozin on systolic blood pressure (SBP) in patients with CKD, with and without type 2 diabetes. METHODS: A total of 4304 adults with baseline estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) 25-75 mL/min/1.73m2 and urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR) 200-5000 mg/g were randomized to either dapagliflozin 10 mg or placebo once daily; median follow-up was 2.4 years. The primary endpoint was a composite of sustained ≥50% eGFR decline, end-stage kidney disease, or death from a kidney or cardiovascular cause. Change in SBP was a prespecified outcome. RESULTS: Baseline mean (SD) SBP was 137.1 mmHg (17.4). By Week 2, dapagliflozin compared to placebo reduced SBP by 3.6 mmHg (95% CI 2.8-4.4 mmHg), an effect maintained over the duration of the trial (2.9 mmHg, 2.3-3.6 mmHg). Time-averaged reductions in SBP were 3.2 mmHg (2.5-4.0 mmHg) in patients with diabetes and 2.3 mmHg (1.2-3.4 mmHg) in patients without diabetes. The time-averaged effect of dapagliflozin on diastolic blood pressure (DBP) was 1.0 mmHg (0.6-1.4 mmHg); 0.8 mmHg (0.4-1.3 mmHg) in patients with diabetes and 1.4 mmHg (0.7-2.1 mmHg) in patients without diabetes. Benefits of dapagliflozin on the primary composite and secondary endpoints were evident across the spectrum of baseline SBP and DBP. CONCLUSION: In patients with CKD and albuminuria, randomization to dapagliflozin was associated with modest reductions in systolic and diastolic BP.

BACKGROUND: A sizeable proportion of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are reported to be frail. Here we examined the safety and efficacy of dapagliflozin in patients with CKD by frailty level. METHODS: Adults with CKD, with/without type 2 diabetes, with an estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) of 25-75 mL/min/1.73 m2, and urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio 200-5 000 mg/g were randomized to dapagliflozin (10 mg/day) or placebo. The primary endpoint was a composite of sustained ≥50% eGFR decline, end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), or death from kidney or cardiovascular (CV) causes. RESULTS: Frailty index (FI), assessed by Rockwood cumulative deficit approach, was calculable in 4 303/4 304 (99.9%) patients: 1 162 (27.0%) in not-to-mildly frail (FI ≤0.210), 1 642 (38.2%) in moderately frail (FI 0.211-0.310), and 1 499 (34.8%) in severely frail categories (FI >0.311). Dapagliflozin reduced the risk of the primary composite endpoint across all FI categories (hazard ratios [95% confidence interval {CI}]: 0.50 [0.33-0.76], 0.62 [0.45-0.85], and 0.64 [0.49--0.83], respectively; p-interaction = 0.67). Results were similar for secondary outcomes including kidney composite outcome (sustained ≥50% eGFR decline, ESKD or death from kidney cause; p-interaction = 0.44), CV endpoint (heart failure hospitalization or CV death; p-interaction = 0.63), and all-cause mortality (p-interaction p = .42). Results were consistent when using FI as a continuous variable. Occurrence of serious adverse events was numerically lower in patients receiving dapagliflozin versus placebo in all FI categories (16.9% vs 20.1%, 26.3% vs 30.7%, and 42.9% vs 47.8%, in not-to-mildly, moderately, and severely frail categories, respectively). CONCLUSIONS: The relative benefit of dapagliflozin for all outcomes was consistent across all frailty categories, with no difference in associated safety.

The current neuropsychiatric nosological categories underlie pragmatic treatment choice, regulation and clinical research but does not encompass biological rationale. However, subgroups of patients suffering from schizophrenia or Alzheimer's disease have more in common than the neuropsychiatric nature of their condition, such as the expression of social dysfunction. The PRISM project presents here initial quantitative biological insights allowing the first steps toward a novel trans-diagnostic classification of psychiatric and neurological symptomatology intended to reinvigorate drug discovery in this area. In this study, we applied spectral clustering on digital behavioural endpoints derived from passive smartphone monitoring data in a subgroup of Schizophrenia and Alzheimer's disease patients, as well as age matched healthy controls, as part of the PRISM clinical study. This analysis provided an objective social functioning characterization with three differential clusters that transcended initial diagnostic classification and was shown to be linked to quantitative neurobiological parameters assessed. This emerging quantitative framework will both offer new ways to classify individuals in biologically homogenous clusters irrespective of their initial diagnosis, and also offer insights into the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying these clusters.

AIM: Sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors and mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists reduce albuminuria and the risk of kidney failure. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of both agents alone and in combination on markers of the glomerular endothelial glycocalyx and tubular function. METHODS: This post-hoc analysis utilized data of the ROTATE-3 study, a randomized cross-over study in 46 adults with chronic kidney disease and urinary albumin excretion ≥100 mg/24 h, who were treated for 4 weeks with dapagliflozin, eplerenone or its combination. The effects of dapagliflozin, eplerenone and the combination on outcome measures such as heparan sulphate, neuro-hormonal markers and tubular sodium handling were assessed with mixed repeated measures models. RESULTS: The mean percentage change from baseline in heparan sulphate after 4 weeks treatment with dapagliflozin, eplerenone or dapagliflozin-eplerenone was -34.8% (95% CI -52.2, -10.9), -5.9% (95% CI -32.5, 31.3) and -28.1% (95% CI -48.4, 0.1) respectively. The mean percentage change from baseline in plasma aldosterone was larger with eplerenone [38.9% (95% CI 2.8, 87.7)] and dapagliflozin-eplerenone [32.2% (95% CI -1.5, 77.4)], compared with dapagliflozin [-12.5% (95% CI -35.0, 17.8)], respectively. Mean percentage change from baseline in copeptin with dapagliflozin, eplerenone or dapagliflozin-eplerenone was 28.4% (95% CI 10.7, 49.0), 4.2% (95% CI -10.6, 21.4) and 23.8% (95% CI 6.6, 43.9) respectively. Dapagliflozin decreased proximal absolute sodium reabsorption rate by 455.9 mmol/min (95% CI -879.2, -32.6), while eplerenone decreased distal absolute sodium reabsorption rate by 523.1 mmol/min (95% CI -926.1, -120.0). Dapagliflozin-eplerenone decreased proximal absolute sodium reabsorption [-971.0 mmol/min (95% CI -1411.0, -531.0)], but did not affect distal absolute sodium reabsorption [-9.2 mmol/min (95% CI -402.0, 383.6)]. CONCLUSIONS: Dapagliflozin and eplerenone exert different effects on markers of glomerular and tubular function supporting the hypothesis that different mechanistic pathways may account for their kidney protective effects.

BACKGROUND: The sodium-glucose cotransporter type 2 inhibitor dapagliflozin reduces the risk of progressive kidney disease and cardiovascular events in patients with chronic kidney disease, with and without type 2 diabetes. Whether its effects are uniform across the spectrum of age and among men and women is unknown. OBJECTIVE: We performed a pre-specified analysis in DAPA-CKD to evaluate efficacy and safety of dapagliflozin according to baseline age and sex. DESIGN: Prospective randomized placebo-controlled trial. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 4304 adults with chronic kidney disease (estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) 25-75 mL/min/1.73 m2; urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio 200-5000 mg/g) with and without type 2 diabetes. INTERVENTION: Dapagliflozin 10 mg versus placebo once daily. MAIN MEASURES: Primary endpoint was a composite of ≥ 50% sustained eGFR decline, end-stage kidney disease, and kidney or cardiovascular death. Secondary endpoints included kidney composite endpoint (same as primary composite endpoint but without cardiovascular death), cardiovascular composite endpoint (hospitalized heart failure or cardiovascular death), and all-cause mortality. KEY RESULTS: Median follow-up was 2.4 years. Absolute risks of cardiovascular composite endpoint and all-cause mortality were higher in older patients. Absolute risk of kidney composite endpoint was highest in patients < 50 years (10.7 and 6.2 per 100 patient-years in the placebo and dapagliflozin groups, respectively) and lowest in patients ≥ 80 years (3.0 and 1.2 per 100 patient-years in the placebo and dapagliflozin groups, respectively). There was no evidence of heterogeneity of the effects of dapagliflozin on the primary or secondary endpoints based on age or sex. Neither age nor sex modified the effects of dapagliflozin on total or chronic eGFR slope. CONCLUSIONS: Dapagliflozin reduced the risks of mortality, cardiovascular events, and CKD progression in older patients, including in septuagenarians and octogenarians who comprised 25% of participants. Ageism and/or therapeutic nihilism should not discourage the use of dapagliflozin in older women and men who are likely to experience considerable benefit. BACKGROUND: This post-hoc analysis of the DELIGHT trial assessed effects of the SGLT2 inhibitor dapagliflozin on iron metabolism and markers of inflammation. METHODS: Patients with type 2 diabetes and albuminuria were randomized to dapagliflozin, dapagliflozin and saxagliptin, or placebo. We measured hemoglobin, iron markers (serum iron, transferrin saturation, and ferritin), plasma erythropoietin, and inflammatory markers (urinary MCP-1 and urinary/serum IL-6) at baseline and week 24. RESULTS: 360/461 (78.1%) participants had available biosamples. Dapagliflozin and dapagliflozin-saxagliptin, compared to placebo, increased hemoglobin by 5.7 g/L (95%CI 4.0, 7.3; p < 0.001) and 4.4 g/L (2.7, 6.0; p < 0.001) and reduced ferritin by 18.6% (8.7, 27.5; p < 0.001) and 18.4% (8.7, 27.1; p < 0.001), respectively. Dapagliflozin reduced urinary MCP-1/Cr by 29.0% (14.6, 41.0; p < 0.001) and urinary IL-6/Cr by 26.6% (9.1, 40.7; p = 0.005) with no changes in other markers. CONCLUSIONS: Dapagliflozin increased hemoglobin and reduced ferritin and urinary markers of inflammation, suggesting potentially important effects on iron metabolism and inflammation. SIGNIFICANCE STATEMENT: The established composite kidney end point in clinical trials combines clinical events with sustained large changes in GFR but does not weigh the relative clinical importance of the end point components. By contrast, a hierarchical composite end point (HCE) accounts for the clinical importance of the end point components. The authors developed and validated a kidney HCE that combines clinical kidney outcomes with longitudinal GFR changes (GFR slope). They demonstrate that in seven major placebo-controlled kidney outcome trials with different medications, treatment effect estimates on the HCE were consistently in similar directions and of similar magnitudes compared with treatment effects on the established kidney end point. The HCE's prioritization of clinical outcomes and ability to combine dichotomous outcomes with GFR slope make it an attractive alternative to the established kidney end point. BACKGROUND: The established composite kidney end point in clinical trials combines clinical events with sustained large changes in GFR. However, the statistical method does not weigh the relative clinical importance of the end point components. A HCE accounts for the clinical importance of the end point components and enables combining dichotomous outcomes with continuous measures. METHODS: We developed and validated a new HCE for kidney disease progression, performing post hoc analyses of seven major Phase 3 placebo-controlled trials that assessed the effects of canagliflozin, dapagliflozin, finerenone, atrasentan, losartan, irbesartan, and aliskiren in patients with CKD. We calculated the win odds (WOs) for treatment effects on a kidney HCE, defined as a hierarchical composite of all-cause mortality; kidney failure; sustained 57%, 50%, and 40% GFR declines from baseline; and GFR slope. The WO describes the odds of a more favorable outcome for receiving the active compared with the control. We compared the WO with the hazard ratio (HR) of the primary kidney outcome of the original trials. RESULTS: In all trials, treatment effects calculated with the WO reflected a similar direction and magnitude of the treatment effect compared with the HR. Clinical trials incorporating the HCE would achieve increased statistical power compared with the established composite end point at equivalent sample sizes. CONCLUSIONS: In seven major kidney clinical trials, the WO and HR provided similar direction of treatment effect estimates with smaller HRs associated with larger WOs. The prioritization of clinical outcomes and inclusion of broader composite end points makes the HCE an attractive alternative to the established kidney end point.

Clinical trials in nephrology often use composite end points comprising clinical events, such as onset of ESKD and initiation of kidney function replacement therapy, along with a sustained large ( e.g. , ≥50%) decrease in GFR. Such events typically occur late in the disease course, resulting in large trials in which most participants do not contribute clinical events. In addition, components of the end point are considered of equal importance; however, their clinical significance varies. For example, kidney function replacement therapy initiation is likely to be clinically more meaningful than GFR decline of ≥50%. By contrast, hierarchical composite end points (HCEs) combine multiple outcomes and prioritize each patient's most clinically relevant outcome for inclusion in analysis. In this review, we consider the use of HCEs in clinical trials of CKD progression, emphasizing the potential to combine dichotomous clinical events such as those typically used in CKD progression trials, with the continuous variable of GFR over time, while ranking all components according to clinical significance. We consider maraca plots to visualize overall treatment effects and the contributions of individual components, discuss the application of win odds in kidney HCE trials, and review general design considerations for clinical trials for CKD progression with kidney HCE as an efficacy end point.

SIGNIFICANCE STATEMENT: Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) are foundational therapy for CKD but are underused, in part because they are frequently withheld and not restarted due to hyperkalemia, AKI, or hospitalization. Consequently, ensuring persistent use of ACE inhibitors and ARBs in CKD has long been a major clinical priority. In this joint analysis of the CREDENCE and DAPA-CKD trials, the relative risk of discontinuation of ACE inhibitors and ARBs was reduced by 15% in patients randomized to sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors. This effect was more pronounced in patients with urine albumin:creatinine ratio ≥1000 mg/g, for whom the absolute benefits of these medications are the greatest. These findings indicate that SGLT2 inhibitors may enable better use of ACE inhibitors and ARBs in patients with CKD. BACKGROUND: Strategies to enable persistent use of renin-angiotensin system (RAS) blockade to improve outcomes in CKD have long been sought. The effect of SGLT2 inhibitors on discontinuation of RAS blockade has yet to be evaluated. METHODS: We conducted a joint analysis of canagliflozin and renal events in diabetes with established nephropathy clinical evaluation (CREDENCE) and dapagliflozin and prevention of adverse outcomes in CKD (DAPA-CKD), two randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, event-driven trials of SGLT2 inhibitors in patients with albuminuric CKD. The main outcome was time to incident temporary or permanent discontinuation of RAS blockade, defined as interruption of an ACE inhibitor or ARB for at least 4 weeks or complete cessation during the double-blind on-treatment period. Cox regression analyses were used to estimate the treatment effects from each trial. Hazard ratios (HRs) and corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were pooled with fixed effects meta-analysis to obtain summary treatment effects, overall and across key subgroups. RESULTS: During median follow-up of 2.2 years across both trials, 740 of 8483 (8.7%) patients discontinued RAS blockade. The relative risk for discontinuation of RAS blockade was 15% lower in patients randomized to receiving SGLT2 inhibitors (HR, 0.85; 95% CI, 0.74 to 0.99), with consistent effects across trials ( P -heterogeneity = 0.92). The relative effect on RAS blockade discontinuation was more pronounced among patients with baseline urinary albumin:creatinine ratio ≥1000 mg/g (pooled HR, 0.77; 95% CI, 0.63 to 0.94; P -heterogeneity = 0.009). Pain is prevalent among patients with diabetes and chronic kidney disease (CKD). The management of chronic pain in these patients is limited by nephrotoxicity of commonly used drugs including non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and opioids. Since previous studies implicated endothelin-1 in pain nociception, our post hoc analysis of the SONAR trial assessed the association between the endothelin receptor antagonist atrasentan and pain and prescription of analgesics. SONAR was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial that recruited participants with type 2 diabetes and CKD (estimated glomerular filtration rate 25-75 ml/min/1.73 m2; urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio 300-5000 mg/g). Participants were randomized to receive atrasentan or placebo (1834 each arm). The main outcome was pain-related adverse events (AEs) reported by investigators. We applied Cox regression to assess the effect of atrasentan compared to placebo on the risk of the first reported pain-related AE and, secondly, first prescription of analgesics. We used the Anderson-Gill method to assess effects on all (first and subsequent) pain-related AEs. During 2.2-year median follow-up, 1183 pain-related AEs occurred. Rates for the first pain-related event were 138.2 and 170.2 per 1000 person-years in the atrasentan and placebo group respectively (hazard ratio 0.82 [95% confidence interval 0.72-0.93]). Atrasentan also reduced the rate of all (first and subsequent) pain-related AEs (rate ratio 0.80 [0.70-0.91]). These findings were similar after accounting for competing risk of death (sub-hazard ratio 0.81 [0.71-0.92]). Patients treated with atrasentan initiated fewer analgesics including NSAIDs and opioids compared to placebo during follow-up (hazard ratio = 0.72 [0.60-0.88]). Thus, atrasentan was associated with reduced pain-related events and pain-related use of analgesics in carefully selected patients with type 2 diabetes and CKD.

AIM: To estimate the lifetime benefit of a combination treatment of sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors and mineralocorticoid-receptor antagonists (MRA) in patients with type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease (CKD). MATERIALS AND METHODS: The cumulative effect of combination treatment was derived from trial-level estimates of the effect of an SGLT2 inhibitor (canagliflozin) and MRA (finerenone) from the CREDENCE (N = 4401) and FIDELIO (N = 5734) trials, respectively. The cumulative effect was applied to the control group of patients with type 2 diabetes in the DAPA-CKD trial (N = 1451) to estimate long-term gains in event-free and overall survival. The analysis was repeated in an observational study. The primary outcome was a composite endpoint of doubling of serum creatinine, end-stage kidney disease or death because of kidney failure. RESULTS: The hazard ratio of combination treatment for the primary outcome was 0.50 [95% confidence interval (CI): 0.44, 0.57]. At age 50 years, the estimated event-free survival from the primary outcome was 16.7 years (95% CI: 18.1, 21.0) with combination treatment versus 10.0 years (95% CI: 6.8, 12.3) with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors/angiotensin receptor blockers resulting in an incremental gain of 6.7 years (95% CI: 5.5, 7.9). In an observational study, the estimated gain in event-free survival regarding primary outcome was 6.3 years (95% CI: 5.2, 7.3). In a conservative scenario, assuming low adherence (70% of the observed adherence) and less pronounced efficacy (70% of the observed efficacy with 2% yearly decline) of combination therapy, gain in event-free survival regarding primary outcome was 2.5 years (95% CI: 2.0, 2.9). CONCLUSIONS: Combined disease-modifying treatment with an SGLT2 inhibitor and MRA in patients with type 2 diabetes and CKD may substantially increase the number of years free from kidney failure and mortality.

AIM: To evaluate the effect of four different drug classes on soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (suPAR), a biomarker active in multiple inflammatory processes and a risk factor for complications, in people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. METHODS: We conducted post hoc analyses of a randomized, open-label, crossover trial including 26 adults with type 1 and 40 with type 2 diabetes with urinary albumin-creatinine ratio ≥30 and ≤500 mg/g assigned to 4-week treatments with telmisartan 80 mg, empagliflozin 10 mg, linagliptin 5 mg and baricitinib 2 mg, separated by 4-week washouts. Plasma suPAR was measured before and after each treatment. SuPAR change after each treatment was calculated and, for each individual, the best suPAR-reducing drug was identified. Subsequently, the effect of the best individual drug was compared against the mean of the other three drugs. Repeated-measures linear mixed-effects models were employed. RESULTS: The baseline median (interquartile range) plasma suPAR was 3.5 (2.9, 4.3) ng/mL. No overall effect on suPAR levels was observed for any one drug. The individual best-performing drug varied, with baricitinib being selected for 20 participants (30%), followed by empagliflozin for 19 (29%), linagliptin for 16 (24%) and telmisartan for 11 (17%). The individual best-performing drug reduced suPAR by 13.3% (95% confidence interval [CI] 3.7, 22.8; P = 0.007). The difference in suPAR response between the individual best-performing drug and the other three was -19.7% (95% CI -23.1, -16.3; P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrated no overall effect of 4-week treatment with telmisartan, empagliflozin, linagliptin or baricitinib on suPAR. However, individualization of treatment might significantly reduce suPAR levels.

Background The DAPA-CKD (Dapagliflozin and Prevention of Adverse Outcomes in Chronic Kidney Disease) trial (NCT03036150) demonstrated that dapagliflozin reduced the risk of kidney and cardiovascular events in patients with chronic kidney disease and albuminuria with and without type 2 diabetes. We aimed to determine whether baseline cardiovascular medication use modified the dapagliflozin treatment effect. Methods and Results We randomized 4304 adults with baseline estimated glomerular filtration rate 25 to 75 mL/min per 1.73 m2 and urinary albumin:creatinine ratio 200 to 5000 mg/g to dapagliflozin 10 mg or placebo once daily. The primary end point was a composite of ≥50% estimated glomerular filtration rate decline, end-stage kidney disease, and kidney or cardiovascular death. Secondary end points included a kidney composite end point (primary composite end point without cardiovascular death), a cardiovascular composite end point (hospitalized heart failure or cardiovascular death), and all-cause mortality. We categorized patients according to baseline cardiovascular medication use/nonuse. Patients were required by protocol to receive a stable (and maximally tolerated) dose of a renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitor. We observed consistent benefits of dapagliflozin relative to placebo, irrespective of baseline use/nonuse of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitors (98.1%), calcium channel blockers (50.7%), ß-adrenergic antagonists (39.0%), diuretics (43.7%), and antithrombotic (47.4%), and lipid-lowering (15.0%) agents. Use of these drugs in combination with dapagliflozin did not increase the number of serious adverse events. Conclusions The safety profile and efficacy of dapagliflozin on kidney and cardiovascular end points in patients with chronic kidney disease were consistent among patients treated and not treated at baseline with a range of cardiovascular medications.
