RESUMEN

The covid-19 pandemic has shocked society greatly, causing many changes in people's lives. One of these changes relates to leisure and how we relate to others. Videogames became one of the first entertainment options during the pandemic, making the video game industry and the pharmaceutical industry-one of the least affected by economic slowdown. This study analyzes how Twitch and sustainability jointly influence the stock returns of major videogame companies before and during Covid-19 using panel fsQCA analysis. The results show a positive relationship between Twitch, sustainability, and stock returns in video game companies, but this relationship differs yearly, being stronger during the Covid-19 period.

RESUMEN

In an uncertain and finite world, actions towards the development of a green economy are attracting wider support. The damaging anthropogenic impact on earth systems is leading humanity to devastating situations, jeopardizing its very survival. A new world scenario has emerged with COVID-19, where the biopharmaceutical sector has arisen as a powerful effective solution for the health, economic and social crisis derived from the pandemic. This research aims to study the stock market reaction of the two US biopharmaceutical companies that first developed messenger RNA vaccines against COVID-19 (Pfizer and Moderna), considering two time periods, before and during COVID. In the analysis, the influence of the technological market index, market volatility, and investor sentiment are also considered. The results show an unequal influence of market volatility and market sentiment on the returns of both companies, as well as a different volatility behaviour. Furthermore, a contagion effect is observed during the COVID period between both companies and the technological market. The study's findings provide investors, organizations, policy-makers and society with useful information for the design of policies and strategies that ultimately are called to ensure sustainable growth for future generations.

RESUMEN

PURPOSE: The nature of public healthcare highlights not only the need of understanding the role of emotional exhaustion in the relationship between employees' job demands and desirable employees' job attitudes, but also to adequate the combination of certain job resources and other organisational variables to moderate the employees' feelings of emotional exhaustion. The paper aims to discuss this issue. DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: This viewpoint designs the theoretical approach that aims to understand the mediating role of emotional exhaustion among healthcare professionals and the capacity of certain variables to moderate it. The nature of the variables considered and the design of the theoretical model proposed highlights structural equation modelling as an optimal methodology to be used among a sample of European healthcare professionals. FINDINGS: Managers should be able to design strategies to mitigate, eliminate and prevent the causes of emotional exhaustion in public healthcare with the objective to improve the health and quality of life of healthcare professionals, and consequently the quality of the service provided to patients and their families. ORIGINALITY/VALUE: This viewpoint highlights the importance of analysing the influence of employees' emotional exhaustion on their attitudes in public healthcare. Direct relationships between emotional exhaustion and certain antecedents or consequences have been studied previously; however, studies analysing the mediating role of emotional exhaustion are very scarce and show mixed results. There are also few studies analysing the moderating role of certain job resources and other organisational variables in the relationships between employees' job demands, employees' emotional exhaustion and employees' job attitudes.

This paper analyzes the role of some psychosocial factors as antecedents of mobbing (quantitative psychological demands, role clarity, social support, quality of leadership and influence) and, in turn, the relationship between mobbing and employee satisfaction in the hotels and restaurants sector. Among considered psychosocial factors, only quantitative psychological demands, role clarity and quality of leadership predict the occurrence of mobbing processes. Additionally, the number of mobbing behaviors is related in a negative way with two of the job satisfaction dimensions (supervision and payment), while the mobbing global index is related in a negative way with the physical environment satisfaction. The implications for these findings are discussed.

The aim of this work is the validation of the Galician version of the CISNEROS mobbing measurement scale, made up of 43 items that measure the mobbing frequency using a scale of 7 points, and at the same time allows the identification of the potential responsibles. So, we carried out a exploratory factor analysis and a confirmatory factor analysis in a multi-sectorial sample of the Galician active population. The results of the exploratory factor analysis indicate the existence of five main factors which explain60.31% of the total variance and show a high reliability of the scale (a=.96). Subsequently, we compare the three models fit using confirmatory factor analysis. The results indicate that the correlated five-factor model provided the best fit to the data, giving empirical support to the five-factor structure obtained in the exploratory factor analysis(AU)

The aim of this study is the characterization of the processes of mobbing among administration and services staff in the University of Galicia. A sample of 321 subjects was surveyed. Results show that a significant percentage of workers perceive themselves as victims of mobbing regardless the gender. The most frequent types of behaviors have to do with both the personal and the professional spheres. The victim’s causal attributions refer to aspects related to the organization and deterioration of the work climate. As main consequences of mobbing, victims point out aspects related to the psychological and emotional health –being the passive strategy (no reaction) the most used to protect themselves from these attacks (AU)
