RESUMEN

Plastics have substantial societal benefits, but their widespread use has led to a critical waste management challenge. While mechanical recycling dominates the reuse of post-consumer plastics, it is limited in efficacy, especially for composites. To address this, we propose a direct reprocessing approach that enables the creation of hybrid, long-lasting, and durable composites from difficult-to-recycle plastics. This approach utilizes cold sintering, a process that consolidates inorganic powders through fractional dissolution and precipitation at temperatures far below conventional sintering; these temperatures are compatible with plastic processing. We show that this process can create inorganic-matrix composites with significant enhancements in tensile strength and toughness over pure gypsum, which is commonly found in construction waste. These composites can be recycled multiple times through direct reprocessing with the addition of only water as a processing promoter. This approach to recycling leads to composites with orders of magnitude lower energy demand, global warming potential, and water demand, when compared against common construction products. Altogether, we demonstrate the potential for cold sintering to integrate waste into high-performance recyclable composites.

All-solid-state batteries have the potential for enhanced safety and capacity over conventional lithium ion batteries, and are anticipated to dominate the energy storage industry. As such, strategies to enable recycling of the individual components are crucial to minimize waste and prevent health and environmental harm. Here, we use cold sintering to reprocess solid-state composite electrolytes, specifically Mg and Sr doped Li7 La3 Zr2 O12 with polypropylene carbonate (PPC) and lithium perchlorate (LLZO-PPC-LiClO4 ). The low sintering temperature allows co-sintering of ceramics, polymers and lithium salts, leading to re-densification of the composite structures with reprocessing. Reprocessed LLZO-PPC-LiClO4 exhibits densified microstructures with ionic conductivities exceeding 10-4  S/cm at room temperature after 5 recycling cycles. All-solid-state lithium batteries fabricated with reprocessed electrolytes exhibit a high discharge capacity of 168 mA h g-1 at 0.1 C, and retention of performance at 0.2 C for over 100 cycles. Life cycle assessment (LCA) suggests that recycled electrolytes outperforms the pristine electrolyte process in all environmental impact categories, highlighting cold sintering as a promising technology for recycling electrolytes.

This study investigated the impact of online product reviews on consumers purchasing decisions by using eye-tracking. The research methodology involved (i) development of a conceptual framework of online product review and purchasing intention through the moderation role of gender and visual attention in comments, and (ii) empirical investigation into the region of interest (ROI) analysis of consumers fixation during the purchase decision process and behavioral analysis. The results showed that consumers' attention to negative comments was significantly greater than that to positive comments, especially for female consumers. Furthermore, the study identified a significant correlation between the visual browsing behavior of consumers and their purchase intention. It also found that consumers were not able to identify false comments. The current study provides a deep understanding of the underlying mechanism of how online reviews influence shopping behavior, reveals the effect of gender on this effect for the first time and explains it from the perspective of attentional bias, which is essential for the theory of online consumer behavior. Specifically, the different effects of consumers' attention to negative comments seem to be moderated through gender with female consumers' attention to negative comments being significantly greater than to positive ones. These findings suggest that practitioners need to pay particular attention to negative comments and resolve them promptly through the customization of product/service information, taking into consideration consumer characteristics, including gender.

With the impetus of information communication technology (ICT), emerging eHealth has attracted increasing number of doctors' participation in online health platforms, which provide various potential benefits to doctors. However, previous studies on eHealth have seldom distinguished different service modes provided by doctors. In addition, the bulk of the literature has considered doctors' motivations based solely on online environments. To fill this gap, this study combines expectancy theory and the Bagozzi, Dholakia, and Basuroy (BDB) model to examine the relationships between anticipated outcomes, performance expectations, and effort intentions from online and offline perspectives. Doctors' behavioral intentions are further divided into two categories: the willingness to offer free services and paid services. Using SmartPLS, this study conducts structural equation modeling (SEM) to analyze 311 sample data. The results show that extrinsic motivations (i.e., extrinsic rewards, expected relationships, and image) and intrinsic motivation (i.e., a sense of self-worth) significantly influence the desire to serve patients well, which in turn positively affects the willingness to offer free services and the willingness to offer paid services. Moreover, counseling time is confirmed as the main cost, which negatively moderates the relationships between desire and behavioral intentions. The findings provide theoretical insights for eHealth and provide practical suggestions to develop marketing strategies for online health platform providers.

Four Zn metal⁻organic frameworks (MOFs), {[Zn2(2,6-ndc)2(2-Pn)]·DMF}n (1), {[Zn2(cca)2(2-Pn)]·DMF}n (2), {[Zn2(thdc)2(2-Pn)]·3DMF}n (3), and {[Zn2(1,4-ndc)2(2-Pn)]·1.5DMF}n (4), were synthesized from zinc nitrate and N,N'-bis(pyridin-2-yl)benzene-1,4-diamine (2-Pn) with naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (2,6-H2ndc), 4-carboxycinnamic acid (H2cca), 2,5-thiophenedicarboxylic acid (H2thdc), and naphthalene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid (1,4-H2ndc), respectively. MOFs 1⁻4 were all constructed from similar dinuclear paddlewheel {Zn2(COO)4} clusters and resulted in the formation of three kinds of uninodal 6-connected non-interpenetrated frameworks. MOFs 1 and 2 suit a topologic 48·67-net with 17.6% and 16.8% extra-framework voids, respectively, 3 adopts a pillared-layer open framework of 48·66·8-topology with sufficient free voids of 39.9%, and 4 features a pcu-type pillared-layer framework of 412·6³-topology with sufficient free voids of 30.9%. CO2 sorption studies exhibited typical reversible type I isotherms with CO2 uptakes of 55.1, 84.6, and 64.3 cm³ g-1 at 195 K and P/P0 =1 for the activated materials 1', 2', and 4', respectively. The coverage-dependent isosteric heat of CO2 adsorption (Qst) gave commonly decreased Qst traces with increasing CO2 uptake for all the three materials and showed an adsorption enthalpy of 32.5 kJ mol-1 for 1', 38.3 kJ mol-1 for 2', and 23.5 kJ mol-1 for 4' at zero coverage.
