RESUMEN

The rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta) is a crucial experimental animal that shares many genetic, brain organizational, and behavioral characteristics with humans. A macaque brain atlas is fundamental to biomedical and evolutionary research. However, even though connectivity is vital for understanding brain functions, a connectivity-based whole-brain atlas of the macaque has not previously been made. In this study, we created a new whole-brain map, the Macaque Brainnetome Atlas (MacBNA), based on the anatomical connectivity profiles provided by high angular and spatial resolution ex vivo diffusion MRI data. The new atlas consists of 248 cortical and 56 subcortical regions as well as their structural and functional connections. The parcellation and the diffusion-based tractography were evaluated with invasive neuronal-tracing and Nissl-stained images. As a demonstrative application, the structural connectivity divergence between macaque and human brains was mapped using the Brainnetome atlases of those two species to uncover the genetic underpinnings of the evolutionary changes in brain structure. The resulting resource includes: (1) the thoroughly delineated Macaque Brainnetome Atlas (MacBNA), (2) regional connectivity profiles, (3) the postmortem high-resolution macaque diffusion and T2-weighted MRI dataset (Brainnetome-8), and (4) multi-contrast MRI, neuronal-tracing, and histological images collected from a single macaque. MacBNA can serve as a common reference frame for mapping multifaceted features across modalities and spatial scales and for integrative investigation and characterization of brain organization and function. Therefore, it will enrich the collaborative resource platform for nonhuman primates and facilitate translational and comparative neuroscience research.

The study aimed to investigate the association between long-term sedentary behavior (LTSB) and depressive symptoms within a representative sample of the U.S. adult population. Data from NHANES 2017-2018 were used, encompassing information on demographics, depressive symptoms, physical activity (PA), and LTSB. Depressive symptoms were identified using the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), with "depressive symptoms" defined as a PHQ-9 score of ≥ 5, and "moderate to severe depressive symptoms (MSDS)" defined as a PHQ-9 score of ≥ 10. PA and LTSB were assessed through the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire, where LTSB was interpreted as sedentary time ≥ 600 min. Restricted Cubic Spline (RCS) curves were utilized to observe potential nonlinear relationships. Binary Logistic regressions were conducted to analyze the associations. A total of 4728 participants (mean age 51.00 ± 17.49 years, 2310 males and 2418 females) were included in the study. Among these individuals, 1194 (25.25%) displayed depressive symptoms, with 417 (8.82%) exhibiting MSDS. RCS curves displayed increased risk of depressive symptoms with prolonged sedentary duration. Logistic regression models indicated significant associations between LTSB and depressive symptoms (OR 1.398, 95% CI 1.098-1.780), and LTSB and MSDS (OR 1.567, 95% CI 1.125-2.183), after adjusting for covariates. These findings suggest that LTSB may act as a potential risk factor for both depressive symptoms and MSDS in the studied population.

Casein micelle has a structure of outer hydrophilicity and inner hydrophobicity, its typical digestion characteristic is gastric coagulation. Based on calcium content as the key factor to control this process, high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) was firstly used to modify the micelle structure by mediating the tight connection between casein molecules themselves and with colloidal calcium, then the quercetin-loaded delivery systems were prepared. And in order to investigate the effect of exogenous calcium, calcium chloride was added for digestion. The results indicated that HHP broke the limitation of casein micelles as delivery carriers for hydrophobic components and increased the EE from 51.18 ± 3.07 % to 76.17 ± 3.41 %. During gastric digestion, higher pressure and exogenous calcium synergistically increased the clotting ability and inhibited the release of quercetin. In the small intestine, curds decomposed more slowly under higher pressure and calcium concentration, so the degradation of quercetin was effectively inhibited.

Acupuncture has demonstrated positive efficacy in the treatment of brain disorders. However, significant challenges lie in integrating acupuncture with modern technologies, promoting its clinical application in treating brain disorders, elucidating the mechanisms underlying acupuncture's preventive and therapeutic effects on brain disorders, and accelerating the pace of translational development in acupuncture medicine. This paper briefly outlines the current research status, challenges, and potential future directions in acupuncture treatment for brain disorders, aiming to provide essential insights for the modernization and development of acupuncture in the treatment of brain disorders.

BACKGROUND: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has been associated with lipid-lowering drugs in observational studies. Drug-target Mendelian randomization (MR) was utilized in this study to examine the causal relationship between lipid-lowering drugs and incidence of IBD, aiming to identify new preventive uses for the drugs. METHODS: We identified instrumental variables for three classes of lipid-lowering drugs: HMGCR inhibitors, PCSK9 inhibitors, and NPC1L1 inhibitors, using data from the Global Lipids Genetics Consortium. Summary statistics of IBD were obtained from UK Inflammatory Bowel Disease Genetics. The summary-data-based MR (SMR) and the inverse-variance weighted (IVW) MR were used for analysis. Sensitivity analyses were performed by conventional MR methods. RESULTS: The SMR analysis showed no significant genetic association between increased gene expression of HMGCR, PCSK9, and NPC1L1 and IBD, Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). According to IVW-MR analysis, increased HMGCR expression is associated with a reduced risk of IBD (OR = 0.73, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.59-0.90, P = 0.003) and CD (OR = 0.75, 95% CI 0.57-0.97, P = 0.03), but not with UC. Additionally, increased NPC1L1 gene expression was associated with elevated risk of IBD (OR = 1.60, 95% CI 1.07-2.40, P = 0.023), but not with CD and UC. However, no significant causal relationships were found between PCSK9 gene expression and IBD, CD, and UC. The sensitivity analysis demonstrated no evidence of heterogeneity or pleiotropy among the reported results. CONCLUSIONS: The heightened expression of genetic variations in HMGCR inhibitor targets could potentially reduce the risk of IBD and CD, while genetic variation in the expression of NPC1L1 targets was positively associated with IBD.

Colloidal calcium phosphate (CCP) confers a modifiable structure to micellar casein (MC), which endows it with potential advantages as a delivery carrier. However, it is difficult to achieve multipattern release of the core material in the intestine with MC as a single wall. In this study, we prepared an anthocyanin-casein-based delivery system utilizing MC with different freezing degrees as the wall material with the objective of achieving the controlled release of anthocyanin as the model core in the intestine. The results showed that freezing could significantly reduce the CCP level up to 50%. Static in vitro simulated digestion with the addition of exogenous Ca2+ showed that the designed delivery system exhibited low anthocyanin release (15%-35%) in the gastric tract. The pattern of release in the intestine depended on the CCP dissociation degree. High and low dissociation degrees corresponded to slow release (from 15% to 65% within 2 h) and burst release (from 35% to 90% within 5 min), respectively. WAXS/SAXS analysis revealed that exogenous serum Ca2+ inherent in simulated gastric fluid and endogenous serum Ca2+ induced by CCP dissociation was synergistically involved in the reconstitution of CCP-mediated nanoclusters and large aggregates. The freezing degree of MC determined the endogenous serum Ca2+ level, which influenced the gastric aggregation behavior of wall MC and ultimately led to a fairly different gastrointestinal release behavior of anthocyanins.

The sweet potato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci, is an important insect pest that transmits over 200 different plant viruses and causes serious damage to the production of cotton and Solanaceae vegetables. Cyantraniliprole is the first diamide insecticide, showing toxicity against B. tabaci. However, B. tabaci has developed resistance to this insecticide by upregulating the expressions of cytochrome P450 genes such as CYP6CX3, while there is limited information on the regulatory mechanism mediated by miRNA. In the present study, ten miRNAs were predicted to target CYP6CX3, in which miR-276-3p showed an inverse expression pattern with CYP6CX3 in two cyantraniliprole resistant strains and under cyantraniliprole exposure. A luciferase assay demonstrated that miR-276-3p suppressed CYP6CX3 expression by pairing with residues 1445-1453. Overexpression or knockdown of miR-276-3p directly impacted B. tabaci resistance to cyantraniliprole. In addition, exposure to cyantraniliprole led to a significant reduction in the expressions of five genes (drosha, dicer1, dicer2, Ago1, and Ago2A) associated with miRNA biogenesis. Suppressing genes such as drosha, dicer1, and Ago2A reduced the expression of miR-276-3p, increased CYP6CX3 expression, and decreased B. tabaci resistance to cyantraniliprole. These results improve our understanding of the role of miRNAs in P450 regulation and cyantraniliprole resistance in B. tabaci.

The transformation of waste plastics to fuel products is an appealing strategy to address plastic-associated environmental and energy issues. In this study, a tandem pyrolysis-catalytic upgrading approach, using a series of mono-/bitransition-metal-modified Si-pillared vermiculite catalysts, was adopted to transform disposable grocery bags (i.e., a polyethylene-based material) to kerosene-range fuels. The results revealed that the silicon pillars contributed to the catalyst's excellent thermal stability to withstand temperatures of up to 1000 °C, while the transition-metallic species (e.g., Co/Ni/Fe) contributed to the fine-tuning of the catalyst's acidity and porosity. Specifically, Co-Fe/Si-pillared vermiculite (SPV) (5:5) produced the highest yield of oil products (75.7 wt%), with alkane and aromatic selectivities of 57.5% and 27.8%, respectively, resembling the composition of kerosene. The catalyst's high selectivities for the targeted products were attributed to the controllable acidity and porosity, enabling a balance to be achieved between these two properties. Pathways were proposed for the tandem pyrolysis in the presence of Co-Fe/SPV. The vermiculite-based catalysts showed satisfactory reusability following regeneration. Beyond polyethylene-based plastics, these catalysts are also applicable to the pyrolysis of other plastic feedstocks. Because vermiculite is a low-cost material, the developed catalyst has good commercialization potential for a wide spectrum of waste-to-energy conversions.

Although an increasing body of evidence supports the crucial role of the SEC24 Homolog D, COPII Coat Complex Component (SEC24D) gene in the initiation and progression of cancer, a comprehensive pan-cancer analysis of this gene is still lacking. In this study, we conducted an extensive investigation of SEC24D, aiming to elucidate its potential role and underlying mechanisms across multiple human tumors. Our analysis relied on data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases. To validate our findings, we employed RNA sequencing (RNA-seq), targeted bisulfite sequencing (bisulfite-seq) molecular techniques. Our findings revealed elevated mRNA (Messenger RNA) and protein levels of SEC24D in different tumor tissues. However, the up-regulation of SEC24D was significantly correlated with shorter overall survival (OS), metastasis, and various clinical parameters in esophageal cancer (ESCA), lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), and kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP). Expression validation analysis via RNA-seq and targeted bisulfite-seq analyses, further confirmed the higher expression of SEC24D in LUAD cancer cell lines as compared to normal controls. The DNA methylation level of SEC24D was found to be decreased in ESCA, LUAD, and KIRP samples. DNA methylation analysis via bisulfite-seq analysis also validate the lower promoter methylation level of SE24D in LUAD cell lines relative to controls. Moreover, we observed a significant association between the elevated expression of SEC24D and the levels of infiltrating cells, such as B cells, neutrophils, macrophages, CD8+ T cells, and CD4+ T cells. Analysis of SEC24-related genes revealed that "Protein processing in endoplasmic reticulum, SNARE interaction in vesicular transport, Legionellosis, Pathogenic Escherichia coli infection" were mainly involved in the functional mechanism of SEC24D in ESCA, LUAD, and KIRP. Moreover, we also suggested a few valuable drugs (Acetaminophen, Acteoside, Cyclosporine, Polydatin, Estradiol, Estradiol, Quercetin) for treating ESCA, LUAD, and KIRP patients with respect to overexpressed SEC24D. To summarize, this comprehensive pan-cancer study investigated the association between SEC24D expression and clinical parameters in ESCA, LUAD, KIRP. The study provides valuable insights for further exploring the functional and therapeutic aspects of SEC24D and underscores its predictive significance in the carcinogenesis and prognosis of these specific cancer types.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has been reported to be associated with hepatobiliary diseases. Previous observational and Mendelian randomization (MR) studies have suggested a causal association between IBD and primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). However, it is unclear whether IBD has a causal association with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC): another autoimmune liver disease. We obtained genome-wide association study (GWAS) statistics from published GWASs for PBC, UC, and CD. We screened qualified instrumental variables (IVs) based on the three major assumptions of MR. To determine the causal relationships between UC or CD and PBC, two-sample MR analyses were performed using inverse variance-weighted (IVW), MR-Egger, and weighted median (WM) methods, and sensitivity analyses were conducted to validate the robustness of the results. We also conducted reverse MR analysis to reveal the causal association between PBC and UC or CD. UC was associated with a higher risk of PBC (OR 1.35, 95% CI 1.05-1.73, P = 0.02) in the IVW method, and CD was associated with an increased risk of PBC (OR 1.18, 95% CI 1.03-1.36, P = 0.02) in IVW. The weighted median and MR-Egger regression of both diseases showed a consistent direction but were not statistically significant. Results of the reverse MR analysis did not suggest genetic susceptibility that PBC was associated with an increased risk of UC (OR 1.05, 95% CI 0.95-1.17, P = 0.34) or CD (OR 1.1, 95% CI 0.99-1.20, P = 0.06). The present study revealed that IBD subtypes could increase the incidence of PBC, but in turn, PBC did not increase the incidence of IBD subtypes. Understanding that IBD and PBC constitute mutual risk factors can help with the clinical management of both diseases.

Due to the lack of sensitive biomarkers, cancer disease kill 9.6 million individuals each year around the globe. The present study aimed to explore the association between ELL Associated Factor 2 (EAF2) expression and its diagnostic and prognostic landscape across different human cancers using an in silico and in vitro approach. To achieve the defined goals of this study, we used the following online sources: UALCAN, KM plotter, TNMplot, cBioPortal, STRING, DAVID, MuTarget, Cytoscape, and CTD. In addition to this, we also used additional The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) datasets via TIMER2, GENT2, and GEPIA to confirm the expression of EAF2 on additional cohorts. Finally, we performed RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) and targeted bisulfite sequencing (bisulfite-seq) techniques-based analysis using A549, ABC-1, EBC-1, LK-2 lung cancer cell lines, and MRC-9 normal control lung cell line for further validation of the results. On balance, EAF2 was elevated in 19 types of human cancers and its up-regulation was significantly correlated with shorter overall survival (OS), relapse-free survival (RFS), and metastasis in Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma (LIHC) and Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma (LUSC) patients. We further evaluated that EAF2 expression was also elevated across LIHC and LUSC patients belonging to different clinicopathological features. Through pathway analysis, EAF2 associations were observed with four important pathways. Moreover, some worth noticing correlations were also documented between EAF2 expression and its promoter methylation level, genetic alterations, other mutant genes, tumor purity, and different immune cells infiltration. The higher EAF2 expression contributes significantly to the tumorigenesis and metastasis of LIHC and LUSC. Therefore, it can be used as a common biomarker in these cancers.

Rapid progress in real-time measurement technology has uncovered varieties of transient pulse dynamics. Here, we report the vector nature of noise-like pulse (NLP) in a passive fiber laser based on the nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM) as the polarization independent saturable absorber. After achieving the basic operation regime of NLP, various types of vector pulses, namely, the polarization locked noise-like vector pulse (PLNLVP), the group velocity locked noise-like vector pulse (GVLNLVP), and the transitional state of combined characteristics of GVLNLVP and polarization rotation noise-like vector pulse (PRNLVP) are also obtained in the cavity. Besides, by utilizing the Dispersive Fourier transform (DFT) technique, the spectral evolution and the energy vibration of pulsating PLNLVP, GVLNLVP, and the transitional state of combined characteristics of GVLNLVP and PRNLVP are also analyzed in real time. Particularly, the coexisting pulsation vector state of NLP and soliton is also captured. All these findings will help to complement our understanding of noise-like vector pulses (NLVPs) in a fiber laser.

Consciousness arises from the spatiotemporal neural dynamics, however, its relationship with neural flexibility and regional specialization remains elusive. We identified a consciousness-related signature marked by shifting spontaneous fluctuations along a unimodal-transmodal cortical axis. This simple signature is sensitive to altered states of consciousness in single individuals, exhibiting abnormal elevation under psychedelics and in psychosis. The hierarchical dynamic reflects brain state changes in global integration and connectome diversity under task-free conditions. Quasi-periodic pattern detection revealed that hierarchical heterogeneity as spatiotemporally propagating waves linking to arousal. A similar pattern can be observed in macaque electrocorticography. Furthermore, the spatial distribution of principal cortical gradient preferentially recapitulated the genetic transcription levels of the histaminergic system and that of the functional connectome mapping of the tuberomammillary nucleus, which promotes wakefulness. Combining behavioral, neuroimaging, electrophysiological, and transcriptomic evidence, we propose that global consciousness is supported by efficient hierarchical processing constrained along a low-dimensional macroscale gradient.

Maternal separation (MS) is a type of early-life stress that has been linked to neuropsychiatric disorders, especially depression. Increasing evidence indicates that the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) level in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) is involved in the pathophysiology of depression. To investigate the potential relationship between ATP in PFC and antidepressant effects of electroacupuncture (EA) treatment, we assessed genes involved in ATP biosynthesis as well as the extracellular ATP levels in a rat model exposed to neonatal MS. Our results demonstrated that reduced expression of ABCG2 (an ATP-binding cassette protein) and ATP levels in the PFC of depressive-like rats exposed to MS can be attenuated by EA stimulus at the Baihui (GV20) and Yintang (GV29) acupoints. Moreover, the antidepressant effect of EA treatment was blocked by administration of suramin, a broad purinergic P2 receptor antagonist. Together, these results suggested that electroacupuncture may be able to modulate extracellular ATP levels in the PFC of depressive-like MS rats, potentially contributing to its antidepressant effects.

CONTEXT: In this study, the reactions of hydrated electron (e-(aq)) with alkyl and aryl halides were simulated with an ab initial molecular dynamics (AIMD) method to reveal the underlying mechanism. An original protocol was developed for preparing the proper initial wavefunction guess of AIMD, in which a single electron was curled in a tetrahedral cavity of four water molecules. Our results show that the stability of e-(aq) increases with the hydrogen bond grid integrity. The organic halides prefer to react with e-(aq) in neutral or alkaline environment, while they are more likely to react with hydrogen radical (the product of e-(aq) and proton) under acidic conditions. The reaction between fluorobenzene/fluoromethane and hydrogen radical is considered as the least favorable reaction due to the highest reaction barriers. The bond dissociation energy (BDE) suggested that the cleavage of the carbon-halogen bond of their anion radical might be a thermodynamically favorable reaction. AIMD results indicated that the LUMO or higher orbitals were the e-(aq) migration destination. The transplanted electron enhanced carbon-halogen bond vibration intensively, leading to bond cleavage. The solvation process of the departing halogen anions was observed in both fluorobenzene and fluoromethane AIMD simulation, indicating that it might have a significant effect on enthalpy. Side reactions and byproducts obtained during the AIMD simulation suggested the complexity of the e-(aq) reactions and further investigation was needed to fully understand the reaction mechanisms. This study provided theoretical insight into the pollutant environmental fate and constructed a methodological foundation for AIMD simulation of analogous free radical reactions. METHODS: The theoretical calculation was conducted on the combination of Gaussian16 and ORCA5.0.3 software packages. The initial geometries, as well as the wavefunction initial guesses, were obtained at PBE0/ma-def2-TZVP/IEFPCM-water level in Gaussian16 unless otherwise stated. AIMD simulations were performed at the same level in ORCA. Wavefunction analysis was carried out with Multiwfn. The details methods were described in the section "Computational details" section.

In order to obtain the leakage characteristics of an upstream pumping face seal with inclined ellipse dimples under high-temperature and high-speed liquid lubricating conditions, a thermo-hydrodynamic lubricating model is developed. The novelty of this model is that it takes the thermo-viscosity effect and cavitation effect into account. The influence of operating parameters, such as rotational speed, seal clearance, seal pressure, ambient temperature and structural parameters, such as dimple depth, inclination angle, slender ratio and dimple number on the opening force and leakage rate, is numerically calculated. The results obtained show that the thermo-viscosity effect makes the cavitation intensity decrease noticeably, leading to an increase in the upstream pumping effect of ellipse dimples. Moreover, the thermo-viscosity effect may make both the upstream pumping leakage rate and opening force increase by about 10%. It can also be found that the inclined ellipse dimples can produce an obvious upstream pumping effect and hydrodynamic effect. Based on the reasonable design of the dimple parameter, not only can the sealed medium achieve zero leakage, but the opening force can also increase by more than 50%. The proposed model has the potential to provide the theoretical basis for and guide the future designs of upstreaming liquid face seals.

BACKGROUND: Epidemiological evidence relating sleep disorders to end-stage renal disease (ESRD) has been obscure. The present study is sought to examine the association between sleep traits and ESRD. METHODS: For this analysis, we selected genetic instruments for sleep traits from published genome-wide association studies (GWAS). As instrumental variables, independent genetic variations linked with seven sleep-related features (sleep duration, getting up in the morning, daytime napping, chronotype of morning/evening person, sleeplessness/insomnia, non-snoring, and daytime dozing) were chosen. A two-sample Mendelian randomization (TSMR) study was conducted to assess the causal relationship between sleep traits and ESRD (N = 33,061). The reverse MR analysis subsequently determined the causal relationship between ESRD and sleep traits. The causal effects were estimated using inverse variance weighted, MR-Egger, weighted median. To conduct sensitivity studies, Cochran's Q test, MR-Egger intercept test, MR-PRESSO, leave-one-out analysis, and funnel plot were used. To study the potential mediators, multivariable mendelian randomization analyses were undertaken further. RESULTS: Genetically predicted sleeplessness/ insomnia (OR = 6.11, 95%CI 1.00-37.3, P = 0.049, FDR = 0.105), getting up in the morning easily(OR = 0.23, 95%CI 0.063-0.85; P = 0.0278, FDR = 0.105), non-snoring (OR = 4.76E-02, 95%CI 2.29E-03-0.985, P = 0.0488, FDR = 0.105) was suggestively associated with the risk of ESRD. However, we found no evidence favoring a causal association between other sleep traits and ESRD through the IVW method. CONCLUSION: The present TSMR found no strong evidence of a bidirectional causal association between genetically predicted sleep traits and ESRD.

The crystallization of lactose usually causes the structural collapse and core material escape of flavor encapsulations. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of different grafting degrees of WPI-inulin Maillard reaction products on the lactose crystallization and the subsequent release behaviors. Ethyl acetate was chosen as the model volatile flavor and the encapsulations were prepared by freeze-drying. The results found that the encapsulation efficiency was significantly increased from 30% to over 80% by using MRPs as wall materials. Those microparticles showed the greater flavor retention and lower moisture adsorption. In addition, the encapsulations produced by the proper Maillard reaction times (e.g., 48 h and 72 h) could effectively delay the lactose crystallization and thus improve the structural stability of the matrix. This innovation finding aims to use the Maillard reaction to control the crystallization behaviors and enhance the usefulness of high-lactose containing products in encapsulation systems.

Furan-based compounds are a new class of compounds characteristic of wide abundance, feasible availability, and environmental friendliness. Presently, polyimide (PI) is the best membrane insulation material in the world, which is widely used in the fields of national defense, liquid crystals, lasers, and so on. At present, most polyimides are synthesized using petroleum-based monomers bearing benzene rings, while furan-based compounds bearing furan rings are rarely used as monomers. The production of petroleum-based monomers is always associated with many environmental issues, and their substitution with furan-based compounds seems a solution to addressing these issues. In this paper, t-butoxycarbonylglycine (BOC-glycine) and 2,5-furandimethanol, bearing furan rings, were employed to synthesize BOC-glycine 2,5-furandimethyl ester, which was further applied for the synthesis of furan-based diamine. This diamine is generally used to synthesize bio-based PI. Their structures and properties were thoroughly characterized. The characterization results showed that BOC-glycine could be effectively obtained using different posttreatment methods. And BOC-glycine 2,5-furandimethyl ester could be effectively obtained by optimizing the accelerating agent of 1,3-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide(DCC) with either 1.25 mol/L or 1.875 mol/L as the optimum value. The PIs originated from furan-based compounds were synthesized and their thermal stability and surface morphology were further characterized. Although the obtained membrane was slightly brittle (mostly due to the less rigidity of furan ring as compared with benzene ring), the excellent thermal stability and smooth surface endow it a potential substitution for petroleum-based polymers. And the current research is also expected to shed some insight into the design and the fabrication of eco-friendly polymers.

During the preadolescent period, when the cerebral thickness, curvature, and myelin are constantly changing, the brain's regionalization patterns underwent persistent development, contributing to the continuous improvements of various higher cognitive functions. Using a brain atlas to study the development of these functions has attracted much attention. However, the brains of children do not always have the same topological patterns as those of adults. Therefore, age-specific brain mapping is particularly important, serving as a basic and indispensable tool to study the normal development of children. In this study, we took advantage of longitudinal data to create the brain atlas specifically for preadolescent children. The resulting human Child Brainnetome Atlas, with 188 cortical and 36 subcortical subregions, provides a precise period-specific and cross-validated version of the brain atlas that is more appropriate for adoption in the preadolescent period. In addition, we compared and illustrated for regions with different topological patterns in the child and adult atlases, providing a topologically consistent reference for subsequent research studying child and adolescent development.
