RESUMEN

Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) is a severe autoimmune disease that often involves the upper and lower respiratory tracts. In recent years, numerous studies have found a significant increase in the incidence of cancer among AAV patients, but the association between lung cancer and AAV remains inconclusive, with relatively low clinical attention. This review summarizes the current literature on the risk of lung cancer in patients with ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV), detailing the potential mechanisms by which AAV may contribute to lung cancer, and further elucidates the inherent carcinogenic risks of immunosuppressants.There is a correlation between AAV and lung cancer, which is related to T cell senescence and damage, as well as the abnormal expression of cytokines such as IL-6 and IL-10. In AAV patients, the use of cyclophosphamide and azathioprine (AZA) alone has a clear carcinogenic risk, with frequent use of CYC potentially posing a high risk for lung cancer. Although TNF inhibitors (TNFi) combined with CYC have carcinogenic risks, there is insufficient evidence to link them directly to an increased risk of lung cancer. For patients at high risk for lung cancer, the judicious use of immunosuppressants, timely computed tomography (CT), and lung cancer screening can reduce the risk of lung cancer in AAV patients.

Cyanobacteria can form complex interactions with heterotrophic microorganisms, but this relationship is susceptible to nutrient concentrations. Disentangling the cyanobacteria-bacteria interactions in relation to nutrient supply is essential to understanding their roles in geochemical cycles under global change. We hypothesize that enhanced nutrient supply in oligotrophic oceans can promote interactions among cyanobacteria and bacteria. Therefore, we investigated the planktonic bacteria and their interactions with cyanobacteria in relation to elevated nutrients caused by enhanced upwelling around a shallow and a deep seamount in the tropical western Pacific Ocean. We found obviously higher complexity of network occurred with significantly more cyanobacteria in the deep chlorophyll maximum layer of the shallow seamount when compared with that of the deep seamount. Cyanobacteria can shape bacterial interaction and community evenness in response to relatively high nutrient concentrations. The effects of the nutrients on cyanobacteria-related networks were further estimated based on the Tara Oceans data. Statistical analyses further showed a facilitative effect of nitrate concentrations on cyanobacteria-bacteria mutualistic interactions in the global oligotrophic ocean. By analysing the Tara Ocean macrogenomic data, we detected functional genes related to cyanobacteria-bacteria interactions in all samples, indicating the existence of a mutualistic relationship. Our results reveal cyanobacteria-bacteria interaction in response to nutrient elevation in oligotrophic ocean and highlight the potentially negative effects of global change on the bacterial community from the view of the bio-interaction.

RESUMEN

SUMMARY: iTOL is a powerful and comprehensive phylogenetic tree visualization engine. However, adjusting to new templates can be time-consuming, especially when many templates are available. We developed an R package namely itol.toolkit to help users generate all 23 types of annotation files in iTOL. This R package also provides an all-in-one data structure to store data and themes, accelerating the step from metadata to annotation files of iTOL visualizations through automatic workflows. The Attentional Spatial Numerical Association of Response Codes (Att-SNARC) effect has shown that number perception induces shifts in spatial attention (Fischer et al., 2003; Dodd et al., 2008). However, many replications were attempted and they often failed. In the present study, we investigated whether the Att-SNARC effect can be found for numbers in different notations: months in Arabic form, Simplified Chinese form, Traditional Chinese form (includes numerical ordinal information) and in Chinese non-numerical form (an ordinal sequence). By varying the cognitive task, we also examined whether the effect is a consequence of automatic perceptual processing. In Experiment 1, an Att-SNARC effect was observed for numbers regardless of notation. In Experiment 2 (order-irrelevant task) and Experiment 3 (order-relevant task), the effect was also found consistently for months in Arabic form, Simplified Chinese form, and Traditional Chinese form. This effect was not observed for months in Chinese non-numerical form in Experiment 3. These results show that number and numerical sequence perception automatically causes a spatial shift of attention. Our study provides positive evidence for the Att-SNARC effect and indicates that the effect can generalize to other numerical ordinal sequences that contain numeric information.
