RESUMEN

In order to study the influence of water-rock interaction on the mass time-varying characteristics of coal rocks, coal was selected as the research object and subjected to chemical immersion tests with different pH aqueous solutions for 12 days. By experiment, the time-varying patterns of mass change fraction in coal samples, pH value in solution, and ions concentration of calcium and magnesium were obtained. Based on the gray correlation theory, the correlation degree between the mass change fraction and four influencing factors was analyzed. The gray prediction models for the mass time-varying characteristics of coal rocks have been established. The research shows that: (1) the influence ways and degree of different pH aqueous solutions on the mass changes of coal rocks are different, (2) during the process of water-rock interaction, the change law of pH value, ions concentration of calcium and magnesium in solution are obvious, (3) the multiple regression models can be used to predict the mass change of coal rocks accurately under water-rock interaction.

RESUMEN

Backfill mining can effectively alleviate the problems of surface collapse and ecological water pollution, in which the mechanical properties of backfill materials, including coal gangue and coal fly ash, have a decisive role in the effect of filling mining. In this study, we analyze the permeability characteristics of coal gangue filler through a set of homemade percolation test systems and introduce fractal characteristics to investigate the key factors affecting percolation in complex pores of broken coal gangue. The results indicate that the fractal dimensions of crushed coal gangue particles show an increasing trend with increasing axial loading and that the variation range is from 2.15647 to 2.58933. The coal fly ash concentration has a positive relationship with the acceleration factor. The permeability of crushed coal gangue follows a hierarchical distribution law and the permeability changes in the magnitude range of 10-11 ~ 10-9 m2. The fractal dimension is inversely related to the permeability of crushed coal gangue. The experimental results show that the coal gangue will be further crushed and that adding a certain concentration of coal fly ash can achieve a better water barrier, which provides theoretical support and engineering significance for the stability analysis of geological engineering and backfill mining technology.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) deficiency is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder characterized by extreme hypertriglyceridemia, with no cure presently available. The purpose of this study was to test the possibility of using cell therapy to alleviate LPL deficiency. METHODS: The LPL coding sequence was cloned into the MSCV retrovirus vector, after which MSCV-hLPL and MSCV (empty construct without LPL coding sequence) virion suspensions were made using the calcium chloride method. A muscle cell line (C2C12), kidney cell line (HEK293T) and pre-adipocyte cell line (3 T3-L1) were transfected with the virus in order to express recombinant LPL in vitro. Finally, each transfected cell line was injected subcutaneously into nude mice to identify the cell type which could secret recombinant LPL in vivo. Control cells were transfected with the MSCV empty vector. LPL activity was analyzed using a radioimmunoassay. RESULTS: After virus infection, the LPL activity at the cell surface of each cell type was significantly higher than in the control cells, which indicates that all three cell types can be used to generate functional LPL. The transfected cells were injected subcutaneously into nude mice, and the LPL activity of the nearby muscle tissue at the injection site in mice injected with 3 T3-L1 cells was more than 5 times higher at the injection sites than at non-injected control sites. The other two types of cells did not show this trend. CONCLUSION: The subcutaneous injection of adipocytes overexpressing LPL can improve the LPL activity of the adjacent tissue of nude mice. This is a ground-breaking preliminary study for the treatment of LPL deficiency, and lays a good foundation for using cell therapy to correct LPL deficiency.

RESUMEN

Surface water, groundwater and sand can flow into mine goaf through the fractured rock, which often leads to water inrush and quicksand movement. It is important to study the mechanical properties of water and sand in excavations sites under different conditions and the influencing factors of the water and sand seepage system. The viscosity of water-sand mixtures under different particle sizes, different concentration was tested based on the relationship between the shear strain rate and the surface viscosity. Using the self-designed seepage circuit, we tested permeability of water and sand in fractured rock. The results showed that (1) effective fluidity is in 10-8-10-5 mn+2 s2-n/kg, while the non-Darcy coefficient ranges from 105 to 108 m-1 with the change of particle size of sand; (2) effective fluidity decreases as the particle size of sand increased; (3) the non-Darcy coefficient ranges from 105 to 108 m-1 depending on particle size and showed contrary results. Moreover, the relationship between effective fluidity and the particle size of sand is fitted by the exponential function. The relationship between the non-Darcy coefficient and the particle size of sand is also fitted by the exponential function.

RESUMEN

Subulurid nematodes identified as Subulura halli Barreto, 1918 were collected from the endangered bird Otis tarda Linnaeus (Gruiformes: Otididae) in China. A detailed redescription of the hitherto poorly known species is presented using both light and, for the first time, scanning electron microscopy. Previously unreported and erroneous morphological features of taxonomic significance are revealed. This species can be readily distinguished from its congeners by the relatively long oesophagus (1.47-1.92 mm long, representing 10.6-16.9% of body length), the number and arrangement of male caudal papillae (11 pairs in total, arranged as five pairs of precloacal and six pairs of postcloacal papillae), the equal length of spicules (1.35-1.52 mm long, representing 10.7-13.7% of body length) and the presence of a small medioventral, precloacal papilla in the male.
